SUMMARY:IL: Wolf Moon 2024 Monte Carlo Tour Rally
DESCRIPTION:(Rescheduled from Jan. 26 because of flooded roads. Teams that registered for Jan. 26 and planning to run Feb. 24 do not have to re-register. Team information will carry over to Feb. 24.) \n\n\n\nThis St. Louis Region\, SCCA\, Wolf Moon 2024 is an evening Monte-Carlo-style tour and social event of about 60 miles similar to the Region’s Tulips by Night and Tulips Redux road rallies. Expect paved Madison County\, IL\, county roads\, easy-to-follow tulip diagrams for route instructions\, and several GPS checkpoints. \n\n\n\nWe will have Check-in at 5PM\, Safety Check at 545P\, and the first car departs at 601PM. \n\n\n\nThe Wolf Moon 2024\, will have a limited field of 20 teams. There is only pre-registration available for this event and you’ll find more details at Motorsportreg. We start from the Troy Park & Ride and will end at DeCamp Station Roadhouse on historic Route 66 (today\, Illinois 4) outside Staunton\, Ill. DeCamp Station has been a stop on Route 66 since the highway was established in 1926. Over its 98-year history\, DeCamp has served as a speakeasy\, gangster hangout\, brothel\, dance hall\, tourist camp/motor hotel\, and local restaurant/tavern. Today\, it is a classic neighborhood sports bar as well as a popular local venue that hosts summertime softball and volleyball leagues and tournaments. It is also a celebrated member of the Illinois Route 66 Scenic Byway program and has been recognized for its preservation efforts by the National Park Service’s Route 66 Preservation Program.  \n\n\n\nWhat you need: \n\n\n\n\n A vehicle\n\n\n\nA Driver and Navigator\n\n\n\nA smartphone or tablet with the Competitor – Richta GPS Checkpoints App installed (this app\, free from Google Play or Apple’s App Store\, is our timing and scoring system\n\n\n\nA clipboard and calculator\, pencils and paper\n\n\n\nA map light or similar device\n\n\n\nA happy inclination to take a wintertime evening drive\n\n\n\n\nEntry fee: $20.00 per team for SCCA teams\, $40.00 for non-member teams. An SCCA team is defined as a team in which at least one participant is an SCCA member. The $40.00 entry fee for a non-member team includes a $20.00 SCCA Weekend Membership for the team’s “primary entrant\,” i.e.\, the member who pays the entry fee. The other member of a non-SCCA team will receive a free SCCA Trial Membership (as will any non-SCCA member of an SCCA team). \n\n\n\nThe SCCA Detroit Region’s rally page has an excellent summary of the Richta system\, especially its Competitor App. Visit http://drscca.org/rally/using-the-richta-competitor-app. It’s is worth your time. \n\n\n\nGood things to know–inclement weather: Should Mother Nature turn against us and send significant snow or ice on rally weekend\, we will reschedule the event. We would make any such decision before noon Feb. 23 and inform you via this website\, email\, or a telephone call. \n\n\n\nGood things to know–winter driving: As with any winter trip\, it’s a good idea to equip yourself with a winter emergency kit\, if you have not done so already. The National Weather Service and AAA offer sugestions about what to include in such a kit. \n\n\n\nAbout the St. Louis Region\, SCCA: The SCCA’s St. Louis Region\, with some 600 members\, offers Road Racing\, Performance Driving Experience (PDE)\, RallyCross\, RoadRally\, Solo (autocross)\, and Street Survival School programs to educate and provide safe environments for individuals to enjoy their street-legal (daily driver) cars and purpose-built racecars. The region is home to more than 80 national champions and has been recognized four times by the Sports Car Club of America as the Region of the Year in its member category. DESCRIPTION:From Rallymaster Jim Heine — \n\n\n\nTulips Redux 2023 is an evening Monte-Carlo-style tour and social event of about 50 miles. We have designed Tulips Redux with the new rally team in mind. Expect paved county roads\, easy-to-follow tulip diagrams for route instructions\, and several GPS checkpoint locations. We will be using the Competitor Richta GPS Checkpoints timing and scoring app for controls (i.e.\, no serious math and timekeeping involved).  \n\n\n\nThe rally will finish at Schlafly’s Highland Square Brewpub in Highland\, Ill. \n\n\n\nRegistration is open at MotorsportReg.com and you’ll find more information about the rally\, entry fees\, and what to bring to the rally. \n\n\n\nWe look forward to seeing you.
