SUMMARY:NJ: Spring into Action! RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:Spring into Action! with the SCCA South Jersey Region! \n  \n\n\n\nA Road Rally is an automobile competition where entrants drive a four-wheeled daily driver vehicle. Those vehicles could be a car\, a pickup truck\, an SUV\, or a sports car of any make or model. The teams consist of two people: a Driver and a Navigator. The events are held on public roads\, which are area backroads. Entrants in the Spring into Action RoadRally will be amazed at the lack of traffic encountered on the rally. The skill needed is to precisely drive the assigned average speeds. Those speeds are at or below the legal speed limit on the road. Entrants are given penalty points of 1 point per second early OR late they arrive at Timing Checkpoints. The course is unknown to the entrants at the beginning of the rally. A set of precise Route Instructions (directions) are given at the morning check-in. The cars start in one minute intervals and will be timed at approximately 60 locations during the rally. The entrants cell phone will time their car using the Richta app. The Richta app is free to the  download and use for the entrants. \nNo prior rally experience is necessary. This rally is designed to be accessible for teams new to the sport while still being a challenge for experienced teams. There are no tricky instructions. There is a 50 car/small truck limit to the number of entries. \nThe rally will use a smart phone app for timing the contestants’ arrival at the checkpoints. The app uses GPS information from your phone to record your arrival time and will\, within a tenth of a seconds\, tell you how early or late you arrived. The app will also display your total score as you progress through the checkpoints. All contestants must have a cell phone with them for the rally.  Cell phone signal strength is not an issue since you will download all the data needed to your phone prior to the rally. The app is free to download. Go to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and search Richta. Download the Richta competitor app. \nYou only need the following things: \nAny 4 wheeled street legal and insured car or small truck. \nA team of two people consisting of a driver and navigator. \nDriver must posse a current driver’s license. \nPay the entry fee of $35 per car ($17.50 per person). All cars with an SCCA member on the team will only pay $35 per car to enter. Cars with no SCCA members must pay an additional $15 for SCCA membership for the weekend for both entrants and be covered by our club insurance. \nThe rally starts at Ciocca Corvette (430 N Albany Avenue\, Atlantic City\, NJ 08401). Day of event check in begins at 9:00 am\, Contestants meeting at 10 am\, Rally begins at 10:30 am. \nThe rally finishes at the Finish Line Pub at New Jersey Motorsports Park (8000 Dividing Creek Rd.\, Millville\, NJ 08332). First car should finish about 2:00pm. SUMMARY:NJ: Fun With Cars Day Ciocca Corvette Rally
DESCRIPTION:The Ciocca Corvette Road Rally (CCRR) is a Time-Speed-Distance(TSD) Road Rally sanctioned by the SCCA South Jersey Region set to run on Saturday\, November 12th. The CCRR will begin at Ciocca Corvette and end at Oyster Creek Inn. Entry for the 2022 CCRR is limited to 30 cars\, so don’t delay registering! \n\n\n\nAll the roads used on the Rally are scenic paved back roads with little traffic that are fun to drive. Each Car will be given a set of route instructions that shows the contestants the roads upon which to travel. These instructions also tell exactly how fast to drive. All speeds are at or below the posted safe speed limits along the route. All cars will accrue a one (1) point penalty for each one (1) second early or late they arrive at each Timing Control. A Rally is not a Race. Driving fast is not the object. The Contestants that control their speed the best will be the winners. Cars are spaced apart in 1-minute intervals. Car 1 begins the CCRR rally at 10:31A. The Rally Committee calculates the perfect entry time at each control by using the assigned Speed over the measured Distance to determine the perfect Time. (Thus\, a TSD rally). \n\n\n\nThe winners of the Road Rally\, like golf\, are the lowest score. Our rally is designed for contestants with little or no rally experience. Trophies will be awarded to cars with the three lowest scores\, the lowest all-female team\, and the car that finishes in last place. \n\n\n\nContestants will need to download the Richta GPS Competitor app before the day of the rally. The App is used to time your progress. The exact time each car reaches all the Timing Controls will be recorded by your cell phone in the rally car using the Richta Competitor app. The app will then verbally announce how far off the official time you arrived\, including if you were early or late. The Richta GPS Competitor app is free to download via the Apple or GooglePlay stores. Details of how to download and use the app will be sent to all contestants via Email after you register for the rally. \n\n\n\nThe Rally finishes at Oyster Creek Inn\, a very popular with residents for its excellent food.  See their menu. Please Note: Leeds Point is the birthplace of the Jersey Devil.
