’Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the garage,
Not an engine was stirring, no revs to barrage.
The route books were prepped with precision and care,
In hopes that the rally would soon be there.
The drivers were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of backroads danced in their heads.
With Timewise installed and Richta GPS synced,
Our strategies were flawless, or so we all think.
When out on the driveway arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window, I flew in a flash,
Tripping on Generals and my rally maps’ stash.
The moon on the curves of the snow-dusted street
Gave a luster of midday to the path we’d soon meet.
When what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a rally car gleaming, with navigators near.
With a skilled navigator, lively and spry,
I knew in a moment the fun was nigh.
More rapid than apexes, the checkpoints they came,
And they whistled and shouted, each turn called by name:
“Now Hairpin! Now Chicane! Now Sweepers galore!
On Checkpoint! On Timing! To backroads we soar!
To the crest of the hill! Through valleys so wide!
Let’s rally, let’s wander, let’s joyfully ride!”
As leaves that before the wild wind do fly,
When the route is revealed, we take to the sky.
So up through the canyons, the rally cars flew,
With rally devices and GPS Apps too.
And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the lane
The prancing and pawing of each tire’s strain.
As I grabbed my clipboard and donned my best hat,
I smiled for the journey—imagine that!
The roads stretched ahead, each mile a gift,
Through farmlands, through forests, the scenery swift.
America’s backroads, a treasure so rare,
Each twist and each turn, a thrill we could share.
Our Timewise equipment kept mileage on track,
No minute too early, no second we’d lack.
The route instructions, a companion so true,
Guided us smoothly to each stunning view.
With camaraderie shared and the open road near,
We laughed and we cheered, no worries, no fear.
The beauty of travel, the joy of the drive,
Reminded us all why we love to arrive.
As the day turned to dusk and the rally drew near close,
The memories lingered, the joy that arose.
And I heard all exclaim as we sped out of sight,
“Merry Christmas to all, and to all, a good night!"
