My dad and I enjoy Rabbit Rally’s auto-scrolling roadbook and integrated GPS gauges, allowing us to be more competitive with any of our cars spanning the past 60 years, regardless of their various quirks, oddities, or tire sizes. This photo is from the 2021 Sparta Trail National Rally, in which we competed in my 1965 Ford F100.
While local rallyists showed me the ins and outs of Rabbit, I noticed that most online tech help on the subject was either oriented at European rallies or difficult to access on the fly. As I organized my first TSD over the past winter, I also put together this brief, graphic guide to Rabbit so new teams would have a gentler learning curve. This draws on the best information from experienced Rabbit rallyists while keeping the format short enough to consult if competitors need to remember something while pulling up to the start line.
A short piece on taking TAs (time allowances) with Rabbit is included. Many will point out that TAs in Rabbit are more cumbersome than with Richta, but I believe the gauges and digital roadbook are worth the trouble. I got very positive feedback on the Rabbit instruction and support we could give at Flamethrower, so I went ahead with this second, improved version of the Quick Reference Guide. If you use the print version, select “flip on short edge.”
See you out there!
