THU – Jan 23 – 4P-5P – Fun With Main Road Rules, Bob Sonntag
You are cordially invited to participate in an enlightening RoadRally session to explore the significance of Main Road Rules within RoadRally events. Whether you’re a newcomer curious about the ins and outs of RoadRally or someone looking to refresh your memory, this session promises to deliver a wealth of information. Attendees will be introduced to the six fundamental road rules, which will be thoroughly explained and illustrated through engaging diagrams, making the information accessible and easy to grasp.
For seasoned rallyists, this session serves as an invigorating review, bringing fresh perspectives and insights into the essential rules that govern road rallying. As the session wraps up, participants will be warmly invited to embark on an exciting journey through Rallytown, USA. This includes seven independent Armchair Rallies that showcase these Main Road Rules in action, providing a practical and hands-on learning experience.
The subsequent session, Fun With Main Road Rules, Part 2, will be a constructive review of the “homework” assigned during this initial gathering. The interlude between the sessions allows participants to access their materials through email or download, allowing them to print and complete the Armchair Rallies at leisure. Join us for a comprehensive exploration of RoadRally rules and an engaging learning experience! And come back for Part 2 on Friday, at 4PM.
FRI – Jan 24 – 4P-5P – Fun With Main Road Rules Part Deux, Bob Sonntag
Brace yourself…Teacher Bob will grade your homework from the Armchair Rallies…“on a curve.” Okay! Okay, we may be the only ones who thought that was funny!
This session follows the Thursday Session, where we all learned the Main Road Rules, an integral part of our sport for Course and GTA rallies. You are invited to see if your seven routes through Rallytown, USA, using the provided Main Road Rules, took you on the same routes intended by Rallymaster Bob!
We have had a chance to view this presentation during our service on the Regional RoadRally Development Committee, and these two sessions provided a fantastic overview of Main Road Rules. It is unnecessary to throw them all into every rally as you get started, yet it does a nice twist to the sport vs. a simple drive until told to turn!
FRI – Jan 24 – 5P-6P – RoadRally Happy Hour, SCCA RoadRally Community

Please stick around for the office hour portion, where program leaders can answer your questions and offer advice. Whether you’re here for the camaraderie, the tips, or both, we can’t wait to see you there!
But wait! There’s more!
