SUMMARY:PA: Steel Haul Tour Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:A sure sign of Spring is the Steel Haul Course and Tour Rallies sanctioned by the SCCA Steel Cities and Blue Ridge Mountain Sports Car Club; this year\, they take place over April 29-30th. Registration will occur Friday evening\, April 28th\, 6-9:00 PM\, in the Holiday Inn breakfast area. \n\n\n\nChuck Larouere will serve as Rallymaster for the Steel Haul Course Rally\, and Carl Staab will Rallymaster the Steel Haul Tour Rally. The rallies are eligible for the National Championships. \n\n\n\nThe Richta GPS Competitor will be used for scoring\, and all teams must have the App loaded on their smart device (phone or tablet) before Registration. \n\n\n\nRegistration is via paper\, and forms with payment shall be mailed to Registrar Rick Beattie\, 352 Woodside Road\, Pittsburgh\, PA 15221. During onsite Registration Friday evening\, Lois Van Vleet will check entry forms for completeness\, have SCCA Adult Waivers signed by both Driver and Navigator and complete the SCCA Membership and Drivers’ License verification. SUMMARY:PA: Monopoly Redux VI GTA Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:Steel Cities Region\, SCCA (western Pennsylvania area) will host its End of Summer Showcase Festival (an ‘all things SCCA’ event) on Saturday\, August 27th\, is the Monopoly Red VI RoadRally. In addition to other SCCA activities such as an autocross\, road races\, and time trials\, there will be a road rally.  \n\n\n\nThe 50 mile\, approximately three-hour afternoon event will start and finish at the Pittsburgh International Race Complex in Wampum\, PA\, just off the Pennsylvania Turnpike Beaver Valley Exit 13\, 45 miles north of Pittsburgh\, PA. \n\n\n\nLike many SportsCar Club of America RoadRally events\, this one will use fun-to-drive paved\, public\, lightly traveled country roads. You will travel below the speed limit searching for the correct signs to move tokens around the Monopoly Game board. The winning team will be the one coming closest to the correct trip around the board. The event will wind its way through tall forests and small towns\, over streams and past large farms north and east of the start. \n\n\n\nNo rally experience or equipment is necessary but you will need a legal car\, a licensed Driver and a Navigator. The entry fee is $30 per car\, and only one member of the team needs an SCCA membership. DESCRIPTION:Steel Cities Region\, SCCA\, as part of this year’s End of Summer Showcase\, will stage the Monopoly III Road Rally on Saturday\, August 28\, 2021.  \n\n\n\nThe 60 mile\, approximately 3 hour afternoon event will start and finish at Pitt Race\, the Pittsburgh International Race Complex\, in Wampum\, PA\, just off the PA Turnpike\, Beaver Valley Exit 13\, 45 miles north of Pittsburgh\, PA.  \n\n\n\nLike similar Sports Car Club of America Road Rally events\, this one will use paved\, public\, lightly traveled country roads. Road Rally is not a race. You will travel below the speed limit searching for the correct signs to move around a Monopoly game board. The winning team will be the one who comes closest to the correct trip around that board. The entry fee is $25 per car\, and only the driver needs an SCCA membership (weekend membership can be purchased at registration).  \n\n\n\nTo allow Steel Cities to prepare for the event\, teams must contact Rick Beattie by 9:00 PM\, August 25\, 2021\, to confirm their attendance and to receive further information.
