SUMMARY:NJ: Spring into Action! RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:Spring into Action! with the SCCA South Jersey Region! \n  \n\n\n\nA Road Rally is an automobile competition where entrants drive a four-wheeled daily driver vehicle. Those vehicles could be a car\, a pickup truck\, an SUV\, or a sports car of any make or model. The teams consist of two people: a Driver and a Navigator. The events are held on public roads\, which are area backroads. Entrants in the Spring into Action RoadRally will be amazed at the lack of traffic encountered on the rally. The skill needed is to precisely drive the assigned average speeds. Those speeds are at or below the legal speed limit on the road. Entrants are given penalty points of 1 point per second early OR late they arrive at Timing Checkpoints. The course is unknown to the entrants at the beginning of the rally. A set of precise Route Instructions (directions) are given at the morning check-in. The cars start in one minute intervals and will be timed at approximately 60 locations during the rally. The entrants cell phone will time their car using the Richta app. The Richta app is free to the  download and use for the entrants. \nNo prior rally experience is necessary. This rally is designed to be accessible for teams new to the sport while still being a challenge for experienced teams. There are no tricky instructions. There is a 50 car/small truck limit to the number of entries. \nThe rally will use a smart phone app for timing the contestants’ arrival at the checkpoints. The app uses GPS information from your phone to record your arrival time and will\, within a tenth of a seconds\, tell you how early or late you arrived. The app will also display your total score as you progress through the checkpoints. All contestants must have a cell phone with them for the rally.  Cell phone signal strength is not an issue since you will download all the data needed to your phone prior to the rally. The app is free to download. Go to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and search Richta. Download the Richta competitor app. \nYou only need the following things: \nAny 4 wheeled street legal and insured car or small truck. \nA team of two people consisting of a driver and navigator. \nDriver must posse a current driver’s license. \nPay the entry fee of $35 per car ($17.50 per person). All cars with an SCCA member on the team will only pay $35 per car to enter. Cars with no SCCA members must pay an additional $15 for SCCA membership for the weekend for both entrants and be covered by our club insurance. \nThe rally starts at Ciocca Corvette (430 N Albany Avenue\, Atlantic City\, NJ 08401). Day of event check in begins at 9:00 am\, Contestants meeting at 10 am\, Rally begins at 10:30 am. \nThe rally finishes at the Finish Line Pub at New Jersey Motorsports Park (8000 Dividing Creek Rd.\, Millville\, NJ 08332). First car should finish about 2:00pm. SUMMARY:NJ: Ciocca Corvette Spring 2023 RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:The South Jersey Region of the Sports Car Club of America cordially invites you to join our fellow car enthusiasts for our Ciocca Corvette Spring Road Rally. The rally starts at Ciocca Corvette in Atlantic City NJ on May 6\, 2023 with check in time of 9:00 am. The rally will be about a 4-hour 100-mile drive on all paved back roads through sparsely populated southern NJ\, finishing at the Finish Line Pub at New Jersey Motorsports Park. You and your teammate\, as Driver and Navigator\, will follow written route instructions at assigned average speeds. Average speeds are always at or below the speed limit for the road. You will have your time of arrival at each checkpoint recorded. The goal is to arrive at each checkpoint precisely on time. Penalty points are given equally for arriving to early (to fast) or to late (to slow). Awards will be presented in eligible classes at the finish about 3pm. \n\n\n\nNo prior rally experience is necessary. This rally is designed for people who are new to the sport of road rallying. There are no tricky instructions. There is a 50 car/small truck limit to the number of entries. \n\n\n\nThe rally will use a smart phone app for timing the contestants’ arrival at the checkpoints. The app uses GPS information from your phone to record your arrival time and will\, within a tenth of a seconds\, tell you how early or late you arrived. The app will also display your total score as you progress through the checkpoints. All contestants must have a cell phone with them for the rally.  Cell phone signal strength is not an issue since you will download all the data needed to your phone prior to the rally. The app is free to download. Go to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and search Richta. Download the Richta competitor app. \n\n\n\nYou only need the following things: \n\n\n\nAny 4 wheeled street legal and insured car or small truck. \n\n\n\nA team of two people consisting of a Driver and Navigator. \n\n\n\nDriver must possess a current Driver’s license.  \n\n\n\nPay the entry fee of $30 per car ($15.00 per person). All cars with an SCCA member on the team will only pay $30 per car to enter. Cars with no SCCA members must pay an additional $15 for an SCCA Weekend Membership for the weekend and be covered by our club insurance. \n\n\n\nThe rally starts at Ciocca Corvette in Atlantic City\, NJ. Day of event check in begins at 9:00 am\, Contestants meeting at 10 am\, Rally begins at 10:30 am. \n\n\n\nThe rally finishes at the Finish Line Pub (NJMP\, 8000 Dividing Creek Rd\, Millville\, NJ 08332). First car should finish about 2:00pm. Trophy presentation will be about 3:00. \n\n\n\nSelect a Class as described below: Newbies should enter Stock \n\n\n\nStock: No limit on road rally calculating equipment but your mileage must be measured by the vehicle’s stock odometer located in its’ stock position. \n\n\n\nOpen: No limit on your road rally equipment\, trophy eligible at 5 cars entering this class. \n\n\n\nFor more information contact Rallymaster Jim Wakemen. \n\n\n\nEvent requirements\n\n\n\nThe RoadRally will be conducted in full compliance with the Abridged Road Rally Rules (RRRs) as supplemented by the event’s General Instructions (GIs). \n\n\n\nEach rally team will be required to bring a smartphone that is equipped with the Richta Autonomous GPS Checkpoint App.  This app will monitor your car’s position during the rally and will record the precise time at which you arrive at each Timing Control on the rally.  Once you have arrived at a Timing Control\, the app will calculate your score for that leg and display it to you. \n\n\n\nEach rally team will be required to bring a completed emergency contact\, vehicle inspection\, and insurance form to registration when you perform on-site registration.

SUMMARY:NJ: Fun With Cars Day Ciocca Corvette Rally
DESCRIPTION:The Ciocca Corvette Road Rally (CCRR) is a Time-Speed-Distance(TSD) Road Rally sanctioned by the SCCA South Jersey Region set to run on Saturday\, November 12th. The CCRR will begin at Ciocca Corvette and end at Oyster Creek Inn. Entry for the 2022 CCRR is limited to 30 cars\, so don’t delay registering! \n\n\n\nAll the roads used on the Rally are scenic paved back roads with little traffic that are fun to drive. Each Car will be given a set of route instructions that shows the contestants the roads upon which to travel. These instructions also tell exactly how fast to drive. All speeds are at or below the posted safe speed limits along the route. All cars will accrue a one (1) point penalty for each one (1) second early or late they arrive at each Timing Control. A Rally is not a Race. Driving fast is not the object. The Contestants that control their speed the best will be the winners. Cars are spaced apart in 1-minute intervals. Car 1 begins the CCRR rally at 10:31A. The Rally Committee calculates the perfect entry time at each control by using the assigned Speed over the measured Distance to determine the perfect Time. (Thus\, a TSD rally). \n\n\n\nThe winners of the Road Rally\, like golf\, are the lowest score. Our rally is designed for contestants with little or no rally experience. Trophies will be awarded to cars with the three lowest scores\, the lowest all-female team\, and the car that finishes in last place. \n\n\n\nContestants will need to download the Richta GPS Competitor app before the day of the rally. The App is used to time your progress. The exact time each car reaches all the Timing Controls will be recorded by your cell phone in the rally car using the Richta Competitor app. The app will then verbally announce how far off the official time you arrived\, including if you were early or late. The Richta GPS Competitor app is free to download via the Apple or GooglePlay stores. Details of how to download and use the app will be sent to all contestants via Email after you register for the rally. \n\n\n\nThe Rally finishes at Oyster Creek Inn\, a very popular with residents for its excellent food.  See their menu. The Lion is planned to be a moderately difficult Course rally using the Road Rally Rules. The Lamb will feature the Revolutionary War history from South Jersey and will visit the site of the Greenwich NJ Tea Burning and learn the story behind it. Did you know that the Boston Tea Party was the first of several Tea Parties? Many of the Tea Burners later fought in the War\, and one of them became an NJ Governor. The rally will visit other historical sites. \n\n\n\nThere will be Registration on Friday\, March 23th\, from 6P to 9P at the Headquarters hotel. \n\n\n\nMarch Lion\, Saturday\, March 24th: Registration opens at 7A and First Car Starts 8:01A. \n\n\n\nMarch Lamb\, Sunday\, March 25th: Registration opens at 6:30A and First Car Starts 7:31A. \n\n\n\nThe finish of the March Lamb on Sunday will be about 5:30P in Vineland. SUMMARY:PA: Bucks County Explorer Rally
DESCRIPTION:The Bucks County Explorer Rally will feature about 140 miles of the hilly\, twisting back roads of Bucks\, Montgomery\, Lehigh and Northampton Counties. Both paved and unpaved roads will be used. The event will be run both in daylight and after dark. Tulip Route Instructions with mileage to every turn will be used.\nDash plaques will be given to the first 25 prepaid cars. Trophies will be presented in Equipped\, Limited\, Stock and Novice Classes. All cars are scheduled to be finished by 9 pm. Trophies will be presented shortly after the last car completes the course. \nTo make registration easier\, we are collecting a $5 deposit with the registration fee\, which will be refunded after the event with the return of the provided magnetic car numbers. \nRegistration Opens: 12:30 PM First Car Off: 2:01 PM. Both Rallies will be around 75 miles long and include spectacular fall scenery and some of Bucks Counties historic Covered bridges with Pause times to allow for some photo taking. Join us for a great day of rallying in beautiful Bucks County.\nSpecial Awards: Form your own competition group such as Best Chevy Entrant\, Best John’s Sunoco Employee\, Best Friends\, Best NE Rally Club Member\, Best Smith Family Member\, or any common bond that you have. We only require 2 prepaid entries at least one week before the rally. Then we will get the set of trophies and have them for you at the rally. Special Awards are in addition to the other awards. SUMMARY:NJ: The GPS Monte Rally
DESCRIPTION:Join the South Jersey Region SCCA for their last RoadRally event of the summer\, the GPS Monte Rally. This unique event will present an entirely new kind of challenge for experienced rallyists\, and a fun introduction to the sport for newcomers.\nThe GPS Monte Rally combines elements from the two types of events from which it derives its name. Competitors route instructions will consist of a simple list of Latitude/Longitude coordinates\, each with a keytime. Connect the dots by navigating to each location in order\, traveling through the back roads of South Jersey\, attempting to arrive as close to the given keytime as possible. This rally requires a standalone or smartphone GPS that can accept Lat./Long. coordinates\, and a car you don’t mind getting just a little dirty – the route will include unpaved and dirt roads. \nA RoadRally is a test of precision driving and navigation. It is NOT a race! The goal is to reach each checkpoint exactly on time\, neither early nor late. The event takes place on public roads\, with speeds at or below the legal limit. If you’re a car enthusiast\, like puzzles\, enjoy driving through scenic countryside\, or are just looking for an interesting activity and the opportunity to meet new people\, you ought to give RoadRallying a try! All you need are two people (a driver and navigator) and a car\, small truck\, or van. \nAfterwards\, all the competitors are invited to have a drink\, grab a bite to eat\, and swap war stories about the day’s event at the finishing location\, Carolina Blue in Pitman. Trophies will be awarded to the top finishers. If you have any questions\, don’t hesitate to contact the Rally Chairperson\, Jim Wakemen. \nRegistration opens at 10:30 am. SUMMARY:NJ: Oldies But Goodies Tour Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:The OBG is a Tour Road Rally\, sanctioned by the South Jersey Region of the SCCA\, with four classes of Equipped Class\, Tech Class\, Stock Class and Seat of Pants (SOP).\nTrophies will be presented to the first place finisher in SOP and Stock Class. A trophy will be presented to the lowest score in a combined class with Equipped and Tech. Tech scores get a .6 multiplier of non maxed legs. SCCA points will be by separate classes. Special Awards Form your own competition group such as Best\nChevy Entrant\, Best John’s Sunoco Employee\, Best Friends\, Best NE Rally Club Member\, Best Smith Family Member\, or any common bond that you have. We only require 2 prepaid entries at least one week before the rally. Then we will get the set of trophies and have them for you at the rally. Special Awards are in addition to the other awards. The SJR welcomes the Miata club to this rally. There will be a Miata club award provided the 2 prepaid entries are received. \nAll vehicles entered must have 4 wheels\, legally registered for driving on public roads and have a current inspection sticker. All drivers must have a current valid driver’s license. \nEntry fees are $25 to $30 per team.

DESCRIPTION:The Witch Way Is Plus/Minus? Road Rally\, sanctioned by the South Jersey Region of the SCCA\, will feature a Plus/Minus Rule directing  you to turn to increase or decrease your County Route number. For example\, if  the current rule is Plus 5 and you’re on route 600 you’d use the rule by turning onto route 605. If you can add two numbers you can do it. The first few legs of the rally will be tutorial in nature to explain how it works.\nEntry fees are $25 to $30 per team. \n
