DESCRIPTION:The First Friday Niter Road Rally\, a five-decade tradition\, is sanctioned by the SCCA\, Cal Club Region\, and the Santa Monica Sports Car Club!   \n\n\n\nJoin us for August First Friday Niter on August 2nd for another Tour Rally in the Citrus Blossom Series presented by Santa Monica Sports Car Club. Rallymaster Rachel Smith has written this rally using some of her favorite roads\, which she says are “all about the view.” The rally will head West along SR 126\, but won’t quite go into Ventura County this time. After a few miles in the local hills\, the rally heads back into Santa Clarita\, ending at Toppers Pizza\, 23710 Valencia Blvd\, Santa Clarita (corner of Valencia and Magic Mtn). Come on out and help us celebrate the club’s 64th Anniversary! \n\n\n\nThis rally uses the Competitor—Richta GPS Checkpoints app for timing and scoring\, with timing in tenths of seconds. The maximum penalty this month is 120 seconds (2 minutes) per checkpoint. The app is FREE and easy to use on any GPS-enabled smartphone. DESCRIPTION:It’s May\, so it’s finally time to run the postponed February FFN! The rally will run primarily in and around the Rye Canyon industrial park in Santa Clarita (near Magic Mountain). Jeanne English is the Rallymaster\, and she likes traps\, so there will be some. They are all based upon WOF (whichever occurs first) instructions. That means there are no onto\, FLR\, spelling\, or any other kind of trap except for the WOF instructions. There will even be a special help page for beginners\, which Larry Scholnick will explain at the Beginner’s Meeting. The rally will be a Monte Carlo-style event\, sanctioned by the Santa Monica Sports Car Club and the SCCA\, Cal Club Region. \n\n\n\n       ​​​Please come out and join us for the National Pig Day Rally on March 1st. \n\n\n\nOn this day\, we celebrate the pig as an amazing pet! \n\n\n\nThis is a BEGINNER FRIENDLY event! It is created for easy navigation and maximum driving fun through the Santa Monica Mountains. It is perfect for beginners\, as well as people who just want a relaxed drive with a little competition thrown in. \n\n\n\nRallymaster Paul McGaffey has written a pure tour course using Monte Carlo-style timing. You will get very simple\, turn-by-turn instructions with no tricks\, traps\, or boring average speeds. You will be given exact mileages and “Car Zero Times” at each Checkpoint. So\, no guesswork\, no complicated math. Just add your car number in minutes to the Car Zero Time\, and you know when to cross each clearly visible Checkpoint sign.
