SUMMARY:NJ: Highlands Spring Car Trek
DESCRIPTION:Did you know that the mountains of the New Jersey Highlands used to be higher than the Himalayas? Have you ever wondered about the geological history of the beautiful state we are lucky enough to call home? The diverse natural beauty of the Highlands and the patterns of human settlement are determined by its geology\, whose beginnings were dramatic and violent and subsequently sculpted by 3 glaciations. All of the Highlands’ history is illustrated by features of the current landscape\, which we will interpret for you. \n\n\n\nJoin the New Jersey Highlands Coalition’s Spring Car Trek and learn about local geology\, all while experiencing the natural beauty of the Highlands firsthand. Participants will begin their trek at the High Marques dealership in Morristown and will wend their way through 65 miles* of New Jersey nature\, learning about the region’s geology! \n\n\n\nWe provide you with step-by-step directions so you don’t get lost. It’s not a race; you can drive the route at your own pace. There will be several engaging stops on this self-guided tour where you can jump out\, take a walk\, and snap a photo. So grab a friend\, buckle up\, and join us on March 27th at 10 am at High Marques Motor Cars for this exciting educational adventure! It’s gonna rock! This event is sanctioned by the SCCA Northern New Jersey Region. \n\n\n\nIf you aren’t available on March 27th\, you are welcome to drive the route on any other day. DESCRIPTION:For the past 30 years\, the wonderful folks at Subaru have sponsored the NNJR-SCCA & Motorsport Club of North Jersey’s Teddy Bear Charity Road Rallye.  \n\n\n\nEntry in the rally is open to the general public\, and it requires only a car (or SUV/light truck) with a working odometer and a pen to compete! The entry fee per car is a brand new Teddy Bear worth at least $35.00 retail\, donated to the USMC Reserve Toys for Tots Program. Let’s fill up some Subaru’s with wonderful Toys for the Tots! \n\n\n\nRegistration opens at 10:30 AM\, and the first car departs at Noon. \n\n\n\nThere will be many classes\, with Awards for 1st and 2nd in each of 3 Classes: Expert\, Intermediate\, & Novice\, and additional recognition for these Teams: Best First Time\, Best Subaru\, Best SCCA\, Best PCA\, Best BMW\, Best RVSCC\, Best Family\, Best Husband & Wife/Partner\, and Dead Last But Finished.

DESCRIPTION:Northern New Jersey SCCA in association with the Motorsport Club of North Jersey presents the Back to School Road Rally on Sunday\, August 22nd.  \n\n\n\nThis event will be an introduction to mileage-based course rallying. 100 penalty points will be ‘awarded’ for each mile that you go off-course. Exact times are not important but accurate course-following is. \n\n\n\nMike Szorentini\, the Rallymaster\, is designing the route for individuals new to this type of event and will provide helpers to keep you on-course and ‘instruct’ you on the possible upcoming self- correcting route following tricks that you might see later in the event or on the December 5th Teddy Bear Toys for Tots rally. \n\n\n\nThis event is open to the general public and requires only a car or light SUV/truck\, pen/pencil\, and a clipboard or other writing surface. \n\n\n\nThe rally will end at Tavern 519 – 650 County Route 519\, Frenchtown\, NJ. \n\n\n\nThe rally is limited to 60 vehicles! SUMMARY:NJ: Second Hand Roads
DESCRIPTION:Second Hand Roads is a simple\, straightforward Time-Speed-Distance Road Rally\, presented by the SCCA Northern New Jersey Region in association with the Motorsport Club of New Jersey and the Raritan Valley Sports Car Club. All speeds will be at or below the posted speed limits. This is a rally\, not a race. \n\n\n\nA Smartphone GPS App is required to be timed on the event! You can download the Richta GPS Checkpoints App before Registration. It is a free download and available for both Apple and Android.  \n\n\n\nThis event is open to the general public and requires only a car or light SUV/truck\, pen/pencil and clipboard\, and an accurate timepiece and smartphone to compete. A Special ‘Social Distance’ Entry Fee of $25 per car\, a savings of $10 per car.
