SUMMARY:WI: Spring Scamper Rally
DESCRIPTION:The SCCA Milwaukee Region is delighted to announce that the Spring Scamper car rally is scheduled for Sunday\, July 27\, 2025. This 130-mile rally will start and finish in Verona\, Wisconsin\, 10 miles southwest of Madison\, and will explore the scenic country roads northwest of Madison.\n\n   This year’s event will follow a brand-new route\, crossing the Wisconsin River to explore the great roads in Sauk County\, Wisconsin.\n\n   Spring Scamper is a charity fundraiser for the Dane County Humane Society. This great organization provides care and finds “furever” homes for thousands of dogs\, cats\, and other animals every year. Your rally entry will help support their work.\n\n   The entry fee is $20 per person\, and a minimum of two people are required per car. Any type of street-legal vehicle is permitted\, and you do not have to be a member of the Sports Car Club of America. Registration is now open at msreg.com/SpringScamper2025.  There is a 30-car limit\, so don’t delay in getting registered today!\n\n   There will be four classes: Computer\, Calculating\, SOP (Seat of the Pants)\, and First Timer. DESCRIPTION:Milwaukee Region SCCA will host the 2024 Spring Scamper car rally on Sunday\, April 7th. You’re invited to join us for this new 100+ mile\, 4+ hour rally around Madison\, WI. No prior rally experience is necessary\, and any type of street-legal car is welcome. You do not have to be a member of SCCA to participate. \n\n\n\nRallymaster Jim Crittenden has designed a rally course that will take you on a scenic tour of the country roads south of Madison. This is not a race; it’s a game of precision driving where you’ll be challenged to arrive at each checkpoint at exactly the right time. Penalty points are assigned for being too fast or too slow. Trophies will be awarded to the teams with the best performances. There are no unpaved roads on the course.   \n\n\n\nYou’ll need a rally partner (Driver and Navigator) and a smartphone. The entry fee is $20 per person; two people are required in each car. Pre-registration is required; no walk-ins on the day of the event. This is a charity fundraiser for the Dane County Humane Society. This organization finds ‘furever’ homes for thousands of animals every year as well as providing emergency animal care for a variety of animals\, including dogs\, cats\, birds\, and other wildlife. Your entry fee will help support their efforts. Click here for more information about DCHS. \n\n\n\nWe’ll be using the Competitor—Richta GPS Checkpoint app system. The Richta GPS Checkpoint app will run on your smartphone\, record your arrival time at each checkpoint\, and then report your leg score immediately to you. You will need to bring a smartphone to run this rally. \n\n\n\nClasses for Spring Scamper:  \n\n\n\n1st Timer – No one in the car has run a road rally before. SUMMARY:WI: Roads Scamper 2023 National Tour Rally
DESCRIPTION:Join your fellow RoadRally enthusiasts for this 180-mile time-speed-distance National Tour RoadRally in the beautiful Wisconsin countryside. You and your rally partner will enjoy a scenic adventure through the marvelous country roads from Prairie du Chien to Madison on the north side of the Wisconsin River.   \n\n\n\nThis rally will use the Richta GPS Competitor app. Contestants will download the app to their smartphones in advance of the rally. During the rally\, this app will use the GPS signals and automatically record your arrival time at each checkpoint and then display your score to you!!  No more waiting until the rally is over to find out how you did. A bonus feature of this Richta GPS checkpoint system is that we can provide many more checkpoints and more challenging checkpoint locations. Expect at least 100 checkpoints in this 180-mile rally. Contestants will need a smartphone to run this event. If you plan to run another rally app during the event\, you’ll need to do that on a separate device; the Richta GPS Competitor app needs to be the only app running on your phone during the rally. \n\n\n\nThis is a tour-type rally\, so there are no tricks or traps. Typical calculating devices in this Class include Alfa\, Chronar\, Timewise\, and Zeron rally computers.Class L (Limited)        All distance information is derived from any of the following: the vehicle’s electronic system\, the vehicle’s speedometer cable\, or pulses generated by the movement of the vehicle (e.g.\, magnets mounted to the drivetrain\, of GPS devices). Calculating devices are limited to those that require manual entry of the distance information (e.g.\, Curta calculators\, tables\, laptop computers\, electronic APPs\, and programmable and non-programmable electronic calculators). Readouts that continuously show the difference from either the perfect time or the perfect distance are prohibited.Class S (Stock)        Any distance information used for timing calculations must be visually acquired from the vehicle’s stock\, non-adjustable odometer in the stock location. Any calculating device may be used as long as the distance information from the vehicle’s stock odometer is manually entered into the device. A block of rooms with 2 queen beds has been reserved for contestants at a special rate of $75/night plus tax\, but only until May 14th.  This includes a hot breakfast buffet. SUMMARY:WI: Milwaukee Region Spring Scamper RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:The Milwaukee Region of the Sports Car Club of America invites you to join us for the Spring Scamper car rally on Sunday\, April 3\, 2022\, in Madison\, Wisconsin. This 120-mile\, 5-hour Tour-type rally (no traps) will take you and your rally partner (driver and navigator) on a scenic adventure through the rural countryside roads south of Madison. You’ll have lunch in New Glarus (home to Spotted Cow) and then an afternoon break in Monroe\, WI. The rally course features new roads that haven’t been used on previous rallies.  \n\n\n\nWe’ll be using the Checkpoint – Richta GPS app for timing and scoring. This app will run on your smartphone (it’s required that you bring one) and will announce your score immediately at each checkpoint. You can use this instant feedback to learn how to improve your scores as the rally progresses. \n\n\n\nThis year’s Spring Scamper will be a charity event for the Dane County Humane Society. Your entry fee will help this wonderful organization continue to find ‘furever’ homes for hundreds of pets every year. Here’s a link to their website where you can see the list of animals that are currently available for adoption. \n\n\n\nRegistration for Spring Scamper is now open online at msreg.com/DCHS. You do not need to be a member of SCCA to run. Any street-legal car is eligible. The cost is $20/per person ($40/per car). All you need is a smartphone and a rally partner. SUMMARY:WI: Kettle Moraine Colors Road Rallye
DESCRIPTION:Join your fellow car enthusiasts for this five hour\, 110-mile time-speed-distance road rally. You and a partner (Driver and Navigator) will be issued a set of Route Instructions that will take you on a scenic journey through the marvelous country roads in the southern Kettle Moraine Forest area of Wisconsin. The Kettle Moraine Colors Road Rallye\, sanctioned by the SCCA Milwaukee Region is a ‘Tour’ type rally and there are no traps or tricks – just drive\, enjoy the great roads and marvelous scenery and try to arrive at each checkpoint at precisely the right time. Checkpoints will be set up along the way to monitor how well you are following the assigned average speeds. Awards will be presented to the teams who do the best job of arriving at the checkpoints at the proper times. This is a rally designed especially for people with little or no rally experience. \n\n\n\nStart and finish location:  Nagawaukee Shopping Center\, just north of I-94 at the HWY 83 exit\, Delafield. \n\n\n\nSchedule: Check-in opens at 9:00 AM. The first car departs at 11:01 AM\, and we anticipate the first car finished at approximately 4:15 PM. \n\n\n\nCost:  $40.00/car\, a minimum of two people per car is required\, but you may have up to four people per car. \n\n\n\nPre-registration is required for this event.
