SUMMARY:NY: Slip Sliding Fever Rally
DESCRIPTION:Round five of the Finger Lakes Region’s 2024 Winter Rally Series. Slip Sliding Fever Rally is approximately 190 rally miles on paved\, dirt\, muddy and possibly(?) snowy roads. In keeping with the Winter Rally Series format\, this is an evening TSD rally run at speeds within the local speed limits. \n\n\n\nRoute instructions are provided in Tulip diagram format (line drawings of each intersection) with mileages provided. Teams should have a wrist or stopwatch\, a calculator\, flashlight and a pen. A Novice School will be available prior to the Driver’s Meeting to help first-timers out. \n\n\n\nEntry fees are $45/car + $15 for Weekend Membership if one team member in the car is not an SCCA member. DESCRIPTION:Soon\, the Finger Lakes Region’s 2024 Winter Rally Series will kick-off. The December Dash 2023 Road Rally is a novice rally\, training rally\, and tune-up rally all in one. Come learn to do time-speed-distance rallies! This is a straightforward TSD rally. Instructions will be very verbose to help the first-time rallyist. Roads are generally paved but may go onto smooth\, wide dirt roads. Yes! you can bring your lowered Miata. \n\n\n\nEntry fees are $25/car. SUMMARY:NY: Route of All Evil Road Rally...All in Good Time and Deceptive Bends for 2021
DESCRIPTION:A short message from Rallymaster Extraordinaire Frank Beyer (aka Dr. Devio) about the 2021 Route of All Evil Weekend — this year\, there will be two Regional Route(s) of All Evil: All in Good Time on Saturday\, October 30th and Deceptive Bends on Sunday\, October 31st. You can run one or both! \n\n\n\nExpect a couple of things to be missing from my turn as a Rallymaster for the Finger Lakes Region: darkness and snow (probably). The fields are limited to 30 cars each. Early registration is now open to cars with at least one full-time SCCA member. \n\n\n\nBoth courses feature smooth paved and unpaved roads; no car-breakers. Saturday’s route is about 190 miles long and Sunday’s about 175 miles. Speeds will be appropriately brisk for the roads and conditions. The Route and General Instructions are straightforward\, but you’ll need to stay alert and be ready to react to the situations presented. I expect you’ll rack up a bunch of zeros but you’ll work for them. Timing will be done with the Competitor – Richta GPS Checkpoints\, using your smartphone in your car. \n\n\n\nCLASSES for the 2021 Route of All Evil:  \n\n\n\n(E)quipped – no restriction on equipment. DESCRIPTION:We’d love to have you join your fellow car enthusiasts for the 2021 Do It Again Rally (aka TSD or “The Social Distance”)\, sanctioned by the SCCA Finger Lakes Region.  \n\n\n\nWhat is it: We have an opportunity for a little fun in these trying times. We are offering a unique Social Rally\, just for fun. It is not part of any series or serious points race. \n\n\n\nWhere: Starts and ends at Tom Wahl’s on Route 5&20 in Avon \n\n\n\nWhen: Sunday\, 5/16/21.  Check In: 12:30-1:30pm\, First car off at 2:01 (more on timing below) \n\n\n\nHow much: The entry fee is $20/car plus $5 for each weekend membership. The proceeds from the event will be donated to the Avon Food Pantry to help the local community. \n\n\n\nEvent Day Details:  \n\n\n\nThis is a ‘minimal contact’ event. Click here to register online through Hagerty MotorsportReg or email the info to the Rallymaster if you want to enter. There is a limit of 45 cars.The rally is:You follow the course\, maintaining speeds below the posted speed limit.As you follow the route\, you will be timed at locations unknown to you. All checkpoints will be closed (you do not stop at them.)The course is approximately 31 miles and should take about 56 minutes to complete.Teams then repeat the course route at 3:00+car #.For the second time around the route\, checkpoint signs will be out where the cars are timed again. The score will be how close the minute and hundredths are to the time you passed on the first loop (if you did it the first time\, you should be able to do it a second time\, right?)If you take a TA on the second passage\, text it to the phone number on the routes with a mileage where it occurred. Once a TA is taken\, the TA time applies for the rest of the second loop.Cars will have window chalk or magnetic number on each side of the car so the checkpoint worker can identify the car as it passes.The entry fee is $20/car plus $5 for each weekend membership. The proceeds from the event will be donated to the Avon Food Pantry to help the local community.A waiver will be placed on a picnic table behind and outside Tom Wahl’s. Everyone that competes must sign the waiver. We ask everyone to bring their own pen and sign it individually\,Routes would be emailed to teams on the morning of the event.There will be a short driver’s meeting at 1:45\, before the event.The results will be calculated after the event and emailed to all competitors.There will be a ‘print your own trophy’ for all participants.  (In the interest of social distance.)We may even do a Zoom Meeting (virtual happy hour) for results to share rally stories and enjoy some after the event.\n\n\n\nIn light of the current COVID-19 situation\, every attempt will be made to minimize the risks of exposure to the virus. SUMMARY:NY: Ithaca Winter Rally
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the 39th year of the Winter Rally Series\, sanctioned by Finger Lakes Region SCCA. The 2021 series will consist of six Saturday night\, straight-forward\, driver’s style\, time\, speed & distance (TSD) rallies (using tulip diagrams). The first of the series were held in December 2020. \n\n\n\nThese General Instructions (GI’s) will apply to all of the events and will contain most of the information you will need to compete. Each event will include an addendum to provide information unique to that event. If there is a conflict\, the addenda will take precedence. \n\n\n\nA team is classified by the most experienced person in the vehicle.EQUIPPED Any team using equipment where the time calculating device receives direct input from the mileage- measuring device (Zeron\, Alpha\, Speed Pilot\,Timewise\, Halda\, Joe’s House O’ etc.).LIMITED The distance measuring device and calculating device may not provide direct input to each other. Allowable equipment includes rally tables\, Stevens wheel\, Alpina\, Curta\, Autopacer\, slide rule\, hundredths reading odometer\, and any calculator. “Unconnected” rally computers are NOT acceptable. Use of a smartphone or other device in any function other than the clock\, or 4 function calculator\, or GPS navigation will require running in Limited.STOCK Any team using a stand-alone clock and a stock odometer in the stock location\, plus any of these: tables\, slide rule\, single memory four-function electronic calculator. GPS units (or smartphones used as a navigational aid only) are allowed in Stock. All rally calculation apps are specifically not allowed in Stock.NOVICE Any team in which EACH person has competed in fewer than six time-speed-distance road rallies. There are no equipment limitations. If you qualify as a Novice at your first event of this series\, you may compete in the entire series as a Novice. If the driver or navigator is not a Novice the team is not.\n\n\n\nLIMITING ENTRIES. Events are designed for a maximum of 35 cars. The rallymaster may further limit entries if\, in his/her judgment\, the number of competitors exceeds the good nature of residents along the route. \n\n\n\nREGISTRATION AND TECH. Registration will be on motorsportreg.com.  \n\n\n\nNOVICE SCHOOL. Every event will have a novice school\, which is designed to help newcomers successfully complete their first rallies.
