SUMMARY:MI: Detroit Region Are You Territorial RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:You are invited to join the SCCA Detroit Region for this 190-mile time-speed-distance National Course RoadRally run on an entertaining mix of well-maintained paved (60%) and unpaved (40%) country roads around the state recreation areas and farmlands of Southeastern Michigan. Chelsea\, Michigan\, is conveniently located just 45 miles from the Detroit Metro Airport. This late summer daytime event will challenge your ability to apply the route following rules and directions to follow the prescribed rally route. Both Numbered and Lettered Route Instructions will be used on the Are you Territorial Road Rally?\, along with modified “Onto” and “T” Main Road Determinants. The rally will be novice-friendly for any rallyists already experienced with Tour rallies. The traps will be looped to minimize the chances of getting lost and GPS recovery points if you do. \n\n\n\nNOTE: This rally will use the Richta app for timing and scoring. If you have not used this technology in a rally before then you must take a few moments to visit the Richta app information page at http://drscca.org/rally/using-the-richta-competitor-app/ to learn how the app works and how to use it. \n\n\n\nEntry fees (per car): $75 for each team. Non-members need to apply for a weekend membership. The cost is $15 per team if neither team member is an SCCA member.   \n\n\n\nAll entries must be done online. There will be no in-person activities authorized for this event. DESCRIPTION:SCCA Detroit Region’s RoadRally program is rollin’ now! Next up on the Region’s road rally calendar\, following the upcoming Twilight Tour on April 17 (canceled\, due to Covid concerns\, April 12\, 2021)\, is the third of the Region’s eight scheduled 2021 rallies\, Moonlight Monte\, on June 5. Rallymaster Dan Harkcom will take you on roughly 200 miles of rallying over the back roads between West Branch and Houghton Lake – and there are many tasty roads to traverse in that area! Registration is open – click here to head over to MotorsportReg for additional event specifics and to register. \n\n\n\nSince most of Michigan’s most interesting and least-traveled rally roads are unpaved\, expect to run on Saturday and wash on Sunday. All of the roads used will be traversable at rally speeds in the average family car. Depending on weather conditions\, you can expect a combination of dust\, mud\, or washboard\, so prepare accordingly. \n\n\n\nMoonlight Monte will be an early afternoon through evening SCCA RoadRally event. Starting and ending in West Branch\, course following is straightforward with frequently mileaged instructions to keep you on course. DESCRIPTION:Son of Sno*Drift is intended to be a winter rally. As such\, it is hoped that the challenges of winter driving will be a part of the fun. Son of Sno*Drift is a straightforward Time\, Speed\, Distance (TSD) Road Rally with simple instructions and no traps.  NOVICES Welcome! \n\n\n\nRoads used on Son of Sno*Drift will be primarily unpaved and run within Livingston\, Washtenaw and Jackson counties. Total distance will be approximately 175 miles with two breaks. Mileages will be provided with each instruction\, which will be by tulip diagram and written description. \n\n\n\nWith very few exceptions\, this rally will run to the SCCA Tour Rally Rules. his event will count toward the Detroit Region and Great Lakes Division SCCA Road Rally Championships. \n\n\n\nATTENTION! If you intend to use a TSD rally app on your smart phone or tablet device in this rally\, you MUST read the following carefully and register to compete in the appropriate equipment class – either Stock or Limited. \n\n\n\nStock class requires that you use an app that does not incorporate automatic mileage measurement from any distance measuring source. This includes any app that automatically accumulates mileage utilizing the device’s internal GPS. You must manually enter mileages into the app using the app’s mileage input function. Furthermore the mileages entered into the app must come from the car’s stock odometer. You may not use any external odometer or a GPS-based odometer app on a phone or tablet device for rally computer app mileage input sources in Stock class. \n\n\n\nYou may choose to use a TSD rally computer app on your phone or tablet that automatically accumulates mileage based upon input from the device’s internal GPS\, or from a separate third-party GPS receiver. However\, using an app that automatically accumulates distance based upon GPS position data places you into Limited class. YOU CAN NOT RUN IN STOCK CLASS with any app that automatically accumulates mileage from any source. \n\n\n\nNote that Novice class requirements are identical to Stock class. If you otherwise would qualify as a Novice class competitor (driver and navigator\, combined\, have competed in six or fewer rallies)\, but choose to use an app that automatically accumulates mileage from a GPS source you must compete in Limited class. \n\n\n\nSon of Sno*Drift is not to be confused with the “Sno*Drift” Performance Rally\, which is part of the American Rally Association series. Son of Sno*Drift is expected to be a challenge to the driver\, navigator and vehicle. Suitable tires and nighttime driving lights are recommended. DESCRIPTION:The Detroit Region presents their Annual Road Rally School on Saturday\, March 24th\, 2018!\nA road rally is traversed over public roads within the legal speed limit.
