Are you thinking about running in one or more of the three road rallies coming up in the United States Road Rally Challenge (USRRC) on Nov 13 – Nov 15, but are concerned about your health safety during the pandemic? Then read on – we’ve got good news!
The SCCA Detroit Region USRRC rally organizers are fully cognizant of the coronavirus’s risks in this difficult time. They have worked especially hard to consider those risks and have initiated numerous measures to ensure your safety and health. And they bring the experience of running a successful, infection-free rally with 26 teams this past September, the 72nd running of the Press On Regardless Rally, to bear upon the task.
Here are the steps the rally committee has deployed to help ensure an enjoyable but still safe USRRC:
o Online registration only on MotorsportReg – there will be no on-site walk-in registrations
o Online waiver at Speedwaiver.com or SCCA hard card annual waiver only – no handling of paper between folks
o Use of the Richta timing and scoring system eliminates person to person contact at controls
o Observing Michigan governor’s current orders regarding COVID-19
o Use of face masks required whenever folks are away from their car
o No after-rally indoor rendezvous gathering
o Trophies will be mailed to the winners
o Proper social distancing required at all times
As you can see, this year’s USRRC rally committee has worked hard to present an event that will provide an enjoyable three days of rallying while still ensuring participants’ well being. Don’t let the pandemic keep you from once again enjoying road rallying!
