SUMMARY:CA: June First Friday Niter Series
DESCRIPTION:On Friday\, July 7\, 2023\, please join us for an Into the Night rally takeover of the SCCA Cal Club Santa Monica Sports Car Club First Friday Niter. The Rallymaster is Joe Akerman. This rally will be a Monte Carlo/TSD rally\, meaning you get turn-by-turn directions AND your target time at each Checkpoint. All Timed Checkpoints are listed in the Route Instructions and referenced by prominent signs on the course\, in the style of our recent Thunder Road and Two Lane Blacktop rallies. This rally is about 70 miles long and will take about 2 hours. \n\n\n\nThis event aims to enjoy driving sweeping\, challenging back roads at legal speeds while following detailed directions to pass a series of Checkpoints at just the right time. No need for advanced math. No navigational traps or tricks. No riddles and no gimmicks — just beautiful roads to drive with a focus on precision and accuracy. This is a team sport — the Driver and Navigator must work together to get it right. \n\n\n\nThere are no set speeds. Just run at the posted speed limits (the rally is timed at least two mph BELOW those limits and has added pauses where needed). If you reach a timed Checkpoint early\, you can pull over out of traffic lanes and either creep in or stop and wait for your target time to cross the Checkpoint. \n\n\n\nWe will be using the Competitor – Richta GPS Checkpoints app for timing and scoring\, with timing in seconds. This app is FREE and easy to use on any GPS-enabled smartphone\, tablet\, or other Android or iOS device. Go to the Apple App Store\, Google Play Store\, or https://richtarally.com/ to download the app. There is no need for additional timing equipment or clocks – your Official Time shows in the app! \n\n\n\nPlease register online via motorsportreg.com. Go to https://msreg.com/FFN072023. The registration fee is $15 per car for SCCA members. If you are not an SCCA member\, you can get a weekend membership for only $15. You can then apply that amount to full annual membership within 60 days if you choose. \n\n\n\nWe start at the Bank of America rear lot in Mission Hills. In-person registration opens at 7:00 pm\, with the first car out at 8:01 pm; there is a Beginner/Richta meeting at about 7:30 pm. The finish will be at Pizza Man Dan’s in Moorpark.

SUMMARY:CA: Backcountry Bliss Rally
DESCRIPTION:Join the SCCA San Diego Region\, on its Backcountry Bliss Rally\, on Saturday\, July 15th. The TSD Tour Rally will be using the Richta GPS Checkpoints app for scoring. The Region’s “Beginner Video” will be shared online the week before the rally. Event morning\, there will be a Driver’s Meeting ±8:30 AM. \n\n\n\nBackcountry Bliss is expected to be ~75 miles on fun-to-drive country roads and be about two hours in length. \n\n\n\nThe entry fee is $30 per car with one SCCA Member as Driver or Navigator. Weekend Memberships are available for $15 (and be used as credit toward a full SCCA Membership).
