SUMMARY:IL: Tulips by Night RoadRally and Social
DESCRIPTION:Tulips by Night 2026 is an evening Monte-Carlo-style Touring RoadRally and social event of about 60 miles\, with the SCCA St. Louis Region. Rallymaster Jim Heine designed the event with the new/occasional rally team in mind. Expect paved rural Madison County\, Ill.\, roads\, easy-to-follow tulip diagrams for route instructions\, and checkpoint locations identified by official mileages and arrival times. Timing will be in minutes and seconds\, with checkpoint arrival times calculated to whole minutes. After the rally\, stick around to enjoy conversation and hospitality at our finish location. \nStart: Troy Park & Ride \nFinish: Vitale’s Hideaway on historic Route 66 (today\, Illinois 4) outside Staunton\, Ill. Vitale’s Hideaway has been a stop at Route 66 and the “Worden Y” since Route 66 was established in the 1920s. A popular nightspot and dance hall in the 1930s\, today it serves as a neighborhood bar and grill\, one that not long ago was featured on the TV reality show “Bar Rescue.” \nSize of the field: We are limiting the field to 25 teams. \nRegistration: Pre-event registration only at MotorsportReg.com via the link below\, where you will also learn more about the rally\, waivers and information on the Richta GPS Checkpoint app. Entries on a first-come basis. Registration closes Wednesday\, May 27\, at 11:59 p.m. \n\nMay 30 check-in: 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Troy Park & Ride.\nSafety meeting: 6:45 p.m.\nFirst car departs the start: 7:01 p.m.\nFirst car arrives at the finish: approximately 9:00 p.m.\n\nWhat you need: \n\n A vehicle\nA driver and navigator\nA smartphone or tablet with the Richta GPS Competitor App installed (this app\, free from Google Play or Apple’s App Store\, is our timing and scoring system–see timing and scoring note below for more details)\nA clipboard and calculator\, pencils and paper\nA map light or similar device\nA happy inclination to take an evening drive\n\nEntry fee: $20.00 per team for SCCA teams\, $45.00 per team for nonmember teams. An SCCA team is defined as a team in which at least one participant is an SCCA member. The $45.00 team entry fee for a nonmember team includes a $25.00 SCCA Weekend Membership for the team’s “primary entrant\,” i.e.\, the member who pays the entry fee. The other member of a non-SCCA team will receive a one-time free SCCA Trial Membership\, as will any non-SCCA member of an SCCA team. \nGood things to know–timing and scoring: Tulips by Night 2026 is an SCCA RoadRally during which you will be timed at several locations along the rally route. As indicated above\, we will use the Richta Rally GPS Checkpoint System for timing and scoring. To compete\, each participating team must have a smartphone or tablet with active data cellular service (no airplane mode and no wi-fi only devices) with the Richta GPS Competitor App installed. The app will report your arrival time and leg score to your cellphone or tablet moments after you pass each GPS checkpoint location. \nThe SCCA Detroit Region’s rally page has an excellent summary of the Richta system\, especially its GPSCompetitor App. Visit http://drscca.org/rally/using-the-richta-competitor-app. It’s is worth your time. \nMore good things to know: May 30 is a full-moon night. Unless Mother Nature turns against us\, we should have a fun evening for rallying. \nAbout the St. Louis Region\, SCCA: The SCCA’s St. Louis Region\, with some 600 members\, offers Road Racing\, Performance Driving Experience (PDE)\, RallyCross\, RoadRally\, Solo (autocross)\, and Street Survival School programs to educate and provide safe environments for individuals to enjoy their street-legal (daily driver) cars and purpose-built racecars. The region is home to more than 80 national champions and has been recognized four times by the Sports Car Club of America as the Region of the Year in its member category. To learn more about the St. Louis Region\, visit www.stlscca.org.

SUMMARY:CO: Rallye Glenwood Springs
DESCRIPTION:The Rallye Glenwood Springs\, now in it’s 73rd year is the longest continually-held car rallye in North America. It brings cars and drivers of all marques together for three days of driving fun. Friday June 6 is our TSD Rallye from Denver to Glenwood Springs\, followed by a Welcome Dinner for participants. Saturday’s event is a scenic gimmick rallye starting and finishing in Glenwood Springs\, and Sunday includes a car show and funkhana. The entry fee for those team competing in all three events\, and the car show\, is $99.00.\n\nThe rallye is a traditional Time Speed Distance (TSD) event and is challenging and devious\, but probably not diabolical. Our Ministers of Misdirection and Skullduggery (Rallye Masters) have avoided hard-to-see signs and other annoyances to ensure a fun and challenging rallye experience. Like last year\, we are using a GPS-based smart phone app called the Richta GPS Competitor to score Friday’s rallye\, which is a free and easy to use app that is available on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Be sure to download the Richta GPS Competitor app before arriving on Friday morning. \nAs always\, please bring a clipboard\, pen/pencil and paper\, stopwatch\, and a well-read copy of the Rallye General Instructions (downloaded from our website). Also bring a charger for your smart phone that you can use in the car.  The GPS function uses more power than the phone alone. One or more experienced rallyists will be available at the start location to answer questions and get you on your way. \nAll assigned speeds will be at or below posted speed limits. There will be breaks along the route\, including a lunch break. \nRallye Classes:\n\nNovice SOP (Seat of the Pants) – Rallyists are eligible for Novice class until they win a First Place or have competed in THREE TSD Rallyes. Pencil and paper calculations only.\nIntermediate SOP – Rallyists are eligible for Intermediate class until they have won First Place in Intermediate class.  Pencil and paper calculations only.\nExperienced SOP – No limit on experience. Pencil and paper calculations only. Rallye charts and tables are permitted.\nVintage – Any equipment must be period correct. Cars must have been manufactured before 1970.\nComputer – No limit on equipment.\n\nParticipants are expected to properly determine their Rallye class and enter it in Richta GPS Competitor. Failure to indicate your class in Richta GPS Competitor will place you in Experienced SOP class. \nAwards are given for first through fourth places in Novice and Intermediate classes\, and first through third places in Experienced\, Vintage\, and Computer classes. \n\nAll car brands (and their drivers) are welcome and no experience is necessary! Hosted by the MG Car Club – Rocky Mountain Centre\, this long-running and reasonably priced event includes fun competition\, beautiful roads\, and great cars.

SUMMARY:BC: Tour de North Rally 2025
DESCRIPTION:Come and join the Rally Association of Vancouver Island for the Tour de North\, a mostly rural mid island adventure! Challenge your friends to join in\, starting and ending in Courtenay. \nIt will be a fun day on scenic back roads\, mostly paved. The trick is to “stay on time” to avoid any time penalties. Remember\, this is not a race\, but a precision driving event that pits a team of two\, a Driver and a Navigator\, to negotiate some fantastic roads\, at challenging\, but below legal limit speeds. \nSure\, it sounds easy\, but it’s not! This is a true novice event\, so everything is clearly spelled out\, with easy to follow instructions\, recovery points if you get lost\, and talented rallyists with years of experience to (hopefully) get you into rallysport\, by answering questions and giving guidance. From the “Novice Drivers Meeting”\, scrutineering (checking that your car meets rally rules; also called Tech Check) your car\, throughout the event\, to the dinner and awards\, you will have a BLAST! \nSmiles and stories\, guaranteed. \n\n\n\nThe rally is sanctioned by Rally Pacific Motorsports (RPM\, the BC region of CARS)\, and follows the current BC Rally Regulations. \n\n\n\nThe event is limited to 30 entries\, so head over to MotorsportReg today\, where you’ll find more the Tech Check form\, Supplementals and more! This event will use Richta GPS Checkpoints\, which is free and available for both iOs and Android\, for scoring the event.

SUMMARY:NJ: Spring into Action! RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:Spring into Action! with the SCCA South Jersey Region! \n  \n\n\n\nA Road Rally is an automobile competition where entrants drive a four-wheeled daily driver vehicle. Those vehicles could be a car\, a pickup truck\, an SUV\, or a sports car of any make or model. The teams consist of two people: a Driver and a Navigator. The events are held on public roads\, which are area backroads. Entrants in the Spring into Action RoadRally will be amazed at the lack of traffic encountered on the rally. The skill needed is to precisely drive the assigned average speeds. Those speeds are at or below the legal speed limit on the road. Entrants are given penalty points of 1 point per second early OR late they arrive at Timing Checkpoints. The course is unknown to the entrants at the beginning of the rally. A set of precise Route Instructions (directions) are given at the morning check-in. The cars start in one minute intervals and will be timed at approximately 60 locations during the rally. The entrants cell phone will time their car using the Richta app. The Richta app is free to the  download and use for the entrants. \nNo prior rally experience is necessary. This rally is designed to be accessible for teams new to the sport while still being a challenge for experienced teams. There are no tricky instructions. There is a 50 car/small truck limit to the number of entries. \nThe rally will use a smart phone app for timing the contestants’ arrival at the checkpoints. The app uses GPS information from your phone to record your arrival time and will\, within a tenth of a seconds\, tell you how early or late you arrived. The app will also display your total score as you progress through the checkpoints. All contestants must have a cell phone with them for the rally.  Cell phone signal strength is not an issue since you will download all the data needed to your phone prior to the rally. The app is free to download. Go to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and search Richta. Download the Richta competitor app. \nYou only need the following things: \nAny 4 wheeled street legal and insured car or small truck. \nA team of two people consisting of a driver and navigator. \nDriver must posse a current driver’s license. \nPay the entry fee of $35 per car ($17.50 per person). All cars with an SCCA member on the team will only pay $35 per car to enter. Cars with no SCCA members must pay an additional $15 for SCCA membership for the weekend for both entrants and be covered by our club insurance. \nThe rally starts at Ciocca Corvette (430 N Albany Avenue\, Atlantic City\, NJ 08401). Day of event check in begins at 9:00 am\, Contestants meeting at 10 am\, Rally begins at 10:30 am. \nThe rally finishes at the Finish Line Pub at New Jersey Motorsports Park (8000 Dividing Creek Rd.\, Millville\, NJ 08332). First car should finish about 2:00pm. Trophy presentation will be about 2:30. \nSelect a Class as described below: Newbies should enter Stock \nStock: No limit on road rally calculating equipment but your mileage must be measured by the vehicle’s stock odometer located in its’ stock position. \nOpen: No limit on your road rally equipment\, trophy eligible at 5 cars entering this class. \nFor more information contact Jim Wakemen at either 609-634-0485 or jwakemen43@aol.com. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent requirements\n\nThe RoadRally will be conducted in full compliance with the Abridged Road Rally Rules (RRRs) as supplemented by the event’s General Instructions (GIs). \nEach rally team will be required to bring a smartphone that is equipped with the Richta Autonomous GPS Checkpoint App.  This app will monitor your car’s position during the rally and will record the precise time at which you arrive at each Timing Control on the rally.  Once you have arrived at a Timing Control\, the app will calculate your score for that leg and display it to you. \nEach rally team will be required to bring a completed emergency contact\, vehicle inspection\, and insurance form to registration when you perform on-site registration.

SUMMARY:• May the 4th Be With You Episode 2 RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:The SCCA Buccaneer Region’s most successful road rally is back! This time with more prizes\, more trivia\, and a route that follows Star Wars Episode 2: Attack of the Clones movie! \nNew for 2025!\nPrizes for best dressed or costume\, best decorated car\, best wookiee roar impression\, highest trivia score\, and more!\nEach team will be tasked with tracking down Padmé’s attempted assassin by traversing the busy streets of Coruscant. Then track the mysterious bounty hunter to Kamino where you’ll discover the droid army the Federation has been manufacturing in secret. After that\, it’s on to Geonosis where you’ll have to escape the Reek\, Acklay\, and Nexu before engaging in a lightsaber battle with Count Duku. After a battle well fought\, you’ll finally report back to the Jedi Council – for awards\, prizes\, and event wrap-up. \nThis event is an SCCA TSD (time-speed-distance) Road Rally\, where each vehicle will drive on paved public roads\, following a set of predefined route instructions through various checkpoints using the Richta GPS Checkpoints mobile application. Participants will be scored based on their arrival time at each of the defined checkpoints. We will start at Panera\, located near downtown Jacksonville\, where cars will depart every 1 minute. The finish will be a sit-down restaurant at the Saint Johns Town Center\, where scoring\, awards\, and lunch will be available (you are responsible for purchasing your food; we encourage everyone to eat and support the location). \nNew to road rally or unsure what they’re all about? Check out RoadRally 101: Everything YOU need to know to Rally Your Car by Red Hen Racing on YouTube. It is somewhat lengthy\, yet a humorous video explanation. \nAny car is allowed\, provided it meets all Florida state laws and is insured to meet the state’s minimum requirements. A valid driver’s license and proof of insurance will be required at on-site registration. Each car is allowed as many people as there are seatbelts in the vehicle\, but each car is required to have at least 2 people: a Driver and a Navigator. There will be a starting location\, a calibration zone\, multiple free/transit zones\, and several unmanned checkpoints. Team numbers will be assigned\, but the starting order will be determined at random. \nThere are three available classes for this rally: Stock\, Limited\, and Seat of Your Pants. Visit https://www.scca.com/pages/roadrally-rules for official class descriptions and rules. Below are some examples of the types of setups used in each class. \n\nStock: Using your vehicle’s stock trip/odometer\, smartphone as a calculator\, and a stopwatch (perhaps the same or another smartphone). This is the most common class and recommended for novices.\nLimited: Using the car’s built in navigation system to show distance traveled\, a 3rd party GPS tracking system via mobile app (i.e. Richta Odometer\, Maps\, or a Odometer/Trip app)\, as long as that information isn’t transferable to the calculating device (i.e. can’t be the same smartphone running the app and calculations).\nSOP: Just your odometer\, pens/pencils\, stopwatch\, and gut instincts. No calculator of any kind.\n\nOnline registration for the driver and navigator is required at Motorsportreg.com! \nStarting Location: Panera Bread\nFinishing Location: Chuy’s\, 4914 Town Center Pkwy\, Jacksonville\, FL\nRegistration Fee: $30 for SCCA members\, $50 for non-SCCA members (Weekend Membership required)\nEstimated Duration: 35 miles\, 1.5 – 2hrs in duration (depending on traffic conditions in Coruscant and Geonosis)\, breaks are allowed along the way at your leisure.\nRequired Equipment: A Dedicated smartphone with the Richta GPS Checkpoint mobile app; the phone cannot be used while the rally is active. Download at https://richtarally.com/\nRecommended Equipment: Clipboard\, pencils/pens\, highlighters\, stopwatches (smartphone ok)\, calculator\, secondary (and/or 3rd) smartphone \nEvent Schedule:\nThursday May 1st 11:59pm – Online event registration closes\nSunday May 4th 9:15am – On-site check in opens\nSunday May 4th 10:00am – First car out\nSunday May 4th 12:00pm (estimated) – First car arrives\nSunday May 4th 1:00pm (estimated) – Award ceremony \n

SUMMARY:MN: Flamethrower Winter Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:If you love spirited driving on backroads\, our dual-rally weekend with the Flamethrower Road Rally and Alligator Slide is for you! Here are two great winter rallies in one weekend; you can run these rallies in your street car with no special modifications. Grab a friend\, and let’s go! \n\n\n\nFlamethrower Rally is a brisk Regularity (TSD) Rally that invites you to compete from Red Wing to Winona on some of Minnesota’s best driving roads. The course takes advantage of the elevation changes\, natural twisty gravel backroads\, and challenging winter conditions in the valleys flowing into the Mississippi River. Road conditions can range from frozen gravel to snow and even some ice. \n\n\n\nThis year\, we will also enjoy several very twisty single-lane minimum-maintenance roads! No ground clearance issues were found while prerunning with a stock economy car. “Flamethrower” refers to Lucas Flamethrower’s driving lights because much of this rally will be held at dusk and nighttime! \n\n\n\nWhen both are out rallying\, they are rivals\, yet Rallymaster Tyler Linner shares this weekend with Ted Rurup and the Alligator Slide Rally\, which runs on Sunday\, February 23rd. Registration for both events and more information about the rallies is available at www.motorsportreg.com. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n Leave a ReplyCancel reply \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n\n This site uses Akismet to reduce spam. SUMMARY:OH: Ohio Winter RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:Neohio Region\, SCCA invites you to enter the 2025 Ohio Winter Rally (OWR) on February 1! This annual hivernal tour of the Lake Erie “snowbelt” counties of far northeastern Ohio dates back to at least 1966. It was one of the core events of the long-lamented Ohio Rally Championship (ORC) series. \n\n\n\nCompetitors can expect an absolutely straightforward\, gimmick-free Time-Speed-Distance (TSD) road rally\, with an emphasis on precise timing at well-placed controls. Columnar “tulip” style route instructions\, with Official Mileages for all action points (similar to a stage rally routebook)\, will be used. The ~165-mile route will wind through Ohio’s Geauga\, Ashtabula\, and surrounding counties. \n\n\n\nPrevailing road and weather conditions will dictate the rally’s difficulty. Competitors should come prepared to spend extended periods outside in severe winter conditions.  \n\n\n\nTo help teams with limited prior timekeeping experience stay on schedule and to mitigate the possibility of “double jeopardy” penalties from carrying a timing error through multiple controls\, parenthetical perfect cumulative leg times will be provided at all speed change locations. This will be done through the Richta GPS Checkpoints app\, available as a free download for your smart device. \n\n\n\nRegistration and more information are available on motorsportreg.com. However\, it is important to note that there will be no on-site registration\, and online registration closes on Wednesday\, January 29th. \n\n\n\nThe rally will count toward both the SCCA Great Lakes Division (GLD) Rally Championship and the SCCA National Touring Rally (NTR) Championship (Divisional Rally). \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n Leave a ReplyCancel reply \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n\n This site uses Akismet to reduce spam.
