SUMMARY:CA: Triple Rally Weekend • Thunder Road and Stage Coach Tours & Highway Robbery Course Regional Road Rallies
DESCRIPTION:The Santa Monica Sports Car Club Chapter\, of the SCCA Cal Club Region welcome you to spend the Memorial Day Weekend with us and take in three rallies: \nTHUNDER ROAD Regional Tour Rally\, Old Route 66 Edition\, Saturday\, May 23\, 2026\, is a 7-hour Monte Carlo-style format. Rallymaster Joe Akerman has written a very scenic course using most of the best non-urban portions of Old US 66 still remaining in California. There will be lots of things to keep folks on both sides of the car busy. The Monte Carlo format will include your target time (CZT) at all restarts and checkpoints\, and creeping/stopping will be allowed. Thunder Road will finish about 20 minutes from the Start. \nSTAGECOACH Regional Tour Rally\, Sunday\, May 24\, 2026\, is a 6-hour Tour Rally on Sunday\, May 24\, 2026. Rallymaster Larry Scholnick has written a simple straightforward course through some of the local open country\, canyons and backroads. All checkpoints will be identified in the Route Instructions. Stagecoach will finish with about 25 minutes of the Start. \nHIGHWAY ROBBERY Regional Course Rally\, Monday\, May 25\, 2026\, is an SCCA Regional Course Rally. Rallymaster Jeanne English has written a moderately challenging course utilizing variable Main Road Rules and covering some very exciting and picturesque driving roads. There will be variable main road determinants\, but no more than four at any time (often only two). The Rallymaster expects most teams to do most legs correctly. \nWeekend rally headquarters is the Best Western Plus Ontario Airport and Convention Center\, 209 N Vineyard Avenue\, Ontario\, California 91764. (909) 937-6800 hotel direct.  You can use this link for the rally group rate.  As an alternate way to access the group rate\, just cut and paste the following in your browser: www.bestwestern.com/en_US/book/hotel-rooms.05343.html?groupId=P41JA1D4.  Alternate hotels are listed in the Confirmation. \nAlthough we are not sanctioning these events as charity rallies with SCCA\, in honor of our veterans on this Memorial Day\, we are donating a portion of each entry fee to New Directions for Veterans\, a highly rated charity that provides transitional housing\, mental health and substance abuse treatment\, plus job counseling and placement to thousands of homeless veterans here in Southern California.  Check them out at https://ndvets.org/about-us/. \nAll three of these rallies will use the Richta GPS Competitor app for timing and scoring.  The maximum penalty on all three rallies is 30 seconds (1/2 minute) per checkpoint. \nTo register for any or all of these 3 rallies\, please click on the event registration link below. You will also find more detailed information about the rallies and the Richta GPS Checkpoint app. \nEach Entrant must register individually and each will select their correct “group” (driver or navigator). \nThe first person registering should be the entrant registering the vehicle\, choosing the class\, and paying for the entry\, and they should register as 1st Registrant. \nThe other person on the team should then log in separately and should register as 2nd Registrant.  You’ll use the pull-down ‘co-driver picker’ menu to find and select your team partner (who will need to have already registered). \nSchedule of Events:\nFriday\, May 22\, 2026\n18:30 – 21:30 Early Registration and Check-in poolside at the HQ hotel.\nSaturday\, May 23\, 2026 • Thunder Road\n08:00 Check-in opens in the breakfast room.\n08:30 (+ car number) Route Instructions issued.\n10:00 (+ car number) First car out.\n17:00 (approximately) First car to Finish. \nSunday\, May 24\, 2026 • Stagecoach\n08:00 Check-in opens in the breakfast room.\n08:30 (+ car number) Route Instructions issued.\n09:00 (+ car number) First car out.\n15:00 (approximately) First car to Finish. \nMonday\, May 25\, 2026 • Highway Robbery\n08:00 Check-in opens in the breakfast room.\n08:30 (+ car number) Route Instructions issued.\n09:00 (+ car number) First car out.\n14:00 (approximately) First car to Finish. \n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Fees\n\nEntry fee for pre-entry is $65 per car per rally. SUMMARY:IL: Tulips by Night RoadRally and Social
DESCRIPTION:Tulips by Night 2026 is an evening Monte-Carlo-style Touring RoadRally and social event of about 60 miles\, with the SCCA St. Louis Region. Rallymaster Jim Heine designed the event with the new/occasional rally team in mind. Expect paved rural Madison County\, Ill.\, roads\, easy-to-follow tulip diagrams for route instructions\, and checkpoint locations identified by official mileages and arrival times. Timing will be in minutes and seconds\, with checkpoint arrival times calculated to whole minutes. After the rally\, stick around to enjoy conversation and hospitality at our finish location. \nStart: Troy Park & Ride \nFinish: Vitale’s Hideaway on historic Route 66 (today\, Illinois 4) outside Staunton\, Ill. Vitale’s Hideaway has been a stop at Route 66 and the “Worden Y” since Route 66 was established in the 1920s. A popular nightspot and dance hall in the 1930s\, today it serves as a neighborhood bar and grill\, one that not long ago was featured on the TV reality show “Bar Rescue.” \nSize of the field: We are limiting the field to 25 teams. \nRegistration: Pre-event registration only at MotorsportReg.com via the link below\, where you will also learn more about the rally\, waivers and information on the Richta GPS Checkpoint app. Entries on a first-come basis. Registration closes Wednesday\, May 27\, at 11:59 p.m. \n\nMay 30 check-in: 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Troy Park & Ride.\nSafety meeting: 6:45 p.m.\nFirst car departs the start: 7:01 p.m.\nFirst car arrives at the finish: approximately 9:00 p.m.\n\nWhat you need: \n\n A vehicle\nA driver and navigator\nA smartphone or tablet with the Richta GPS Competitor App installed (this app\, free from Google Play or Apple’s App Store\, is our timing and scoring system–see timing and scoring note below for more details)\nA clipboard and calculator\, pencils and paper\nA map light or similar device\nA happy inclination to take an evening drive\n\nEntry fee: $20.00 per team for SCCA teams\, $45.00 per team for nonmember teams. An SCCA team is defined as a team in which at least one participant is an SCCA member. The $45.00 team entry fee for a nonmember team includes a $25.00 SCCA Weekend Membership for the team’s “primary entrant\,” i.e.\, the member who pays the entry fee. The other member of a non-SCCA team will receive a one-time free SCCA Trial Membership\, as will any non-SCCA member of an SCCA team. \nGood things to know–timing and scoring: Tulips by Night 2026 is an SCCA RoadRally during which you will be timed at several locations along the rally route. As indicated above\, we will use the Richta Rally GPS Checkpoint System for timing and scoring. To compete\, each participating team must have a smartphone or tablet with active data cellular service (no airplane mode and no wi-fi only devices) with the Richta GPS Competitor App installed. The app will report your arrival time and leg score to your cellphone or tablet moments after you pass each GPS checkpoint location. \nThe SCCA Detroit Region’s rally page has an excellent summary of the Richta system\, especially its GPSCompetitor App. Visit http://drscca.org/rally/using-the-richta-competitor-app. It’s is worth your time. \nMore good things to know: May 30 is a full-moon night. Unless Mother Nature turns against us\, we should have a fun evening for rallying. \nAbout the St. Louis Region\, SCCA: The SCCA’s St. Louis Region\, with some 600 members\, offers Road Racing\, Performance Driving Experience (PDE)\, RallyCross\, RoadRally\, Solo (autocross)\, and Street Survival School programs to educate and provide safe environments for individuals to enjoy their street-legal (daily driver) cars and purpose-built racecars. The region is home to more than 80 national champions and has been recognized four times by the Sports Car Club of America as the Region of the Year in its member category.
