SUMMARY:CA: Cal Club First Friday Niter Social Roadrally
DESCRIPTION:The First Friday Niter Road Rally\, a five-decade tradition\, is sanctioned by the SCCA\, Cal Club Region\, and the Santa Monica Sports Car Club!   \n\n\n\nJoin us for August First Friday Niter on August 2nd for another Tour Rally in the Citrus Blossom Series presented by Santa Monica Sports Car Club. Rallymaster Rachel Smith has written this rally using some of her favorite roads\, which she says are “all about the view.” The rally will head West along SR 126\, but won’t quite go into Ventura County this time. After a few miles in the local hills\, the rally heads back into Santa Clarita\, ending at Toppers Pizza\, 23710 Valencia Blvd\, Santa Clarita (corner of Valencia and Magic Mtn). Come on out and help us celebrate the club’s 64th Anniversary! \n\n\n\nThis rally uses the Competitor—Richta GPS Checkpoints app for timing and scoring\, with timing in tenths of seconds. The maximum penalty this month is 120 seconds (2 minutes) per checkpoint. The app is FREE and easy to use on any GPS-enabled smartphone. Go to the App Store or Google Play Store\, or https://richtarally.com/ to download. There is no need for additional timing equipment or clocks – your Official Time shows in the app!  \n\n\n\n Also\, if you want to see all the scores at the Finish\, download the FREE Richta Scoreboard app. \n\n\n\nPlease try to register online at MotorSportReg at msreg.com/FFN082024. If that doesn’t work for you\, you can still register in person at the start. We start in the rear lot at the Bank of America in Mission Hills.  In-person registration opens at 7:00 pm\, with the first car out at 8:01 pm; there is a beginner/Richta meeting at 7:40 pm. \n\n\n\nIs your usual rally partner not available for this FFN? Let Jeanne know and she will attempt (no guarantees) to match you up with another single.  Contact Jeanne at ean21@juno.com.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n Leave a ReplyCancel reply \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n\n This site uses Akismet to reduce spam. SUMMARY:BC: Rush to Gold Bridge
DESCRIPTION:The Rush to ‘Gold Bridge’ (R2GB) is our end-of-August\, 3-day driving event organized by Classic Car Adventures. Originally conceived as “Dave’s Birthday Touring Adventure\,” our first year took us to Gold Bridge… thus\, the event was called “The Rush to Gold Bridge.” The actual destination is subject to change yearly\, but the name remains the same! The event features a mixed Tarmac and Gravel route\, with additional instructions for those who’d prefer a 100% tarmac adventure. Each entrant will receive both route options and maps to show when and where each route will cross similar points. We’ve made every effort to adjust the routes and timings so that all participants can meet up for breaks mid-day and arrive at the hotels at a similar time.  \n\n\n\nImagine\, if you will\, a group of Classic Car Enthusiasts who literally just love to drive and hang out together. Some of us are going to try some gravel roads. The other members of our group\, the tarmac set\, is made up of folks who love to get out and drive\, but really aren’t sure about subjecting their cars to some gravel. That\, in a nutshell\, is the “Rush to Gold Bridge.” \n\n\n\nThe route for the 2024 R2GB will remain secret until entrants receive their “route-book” at registration. Instructions for this year’s event will be a combination of Google Maps instructions\, photocopies of older CCA event route books\, relevant map sections\, and GPS destination points (where available). Entrants are expected to arrive with good humor and a willingness to explore\, and a sense of humor when a road is found not to exist or a locked gate is encountered. You will not need any special rally equipment or rally knowledge. The event consists of paved and gravel roads through mountainous terrain\, with driving scheduled through daylight hours. \n\n\n\nA sense of humour\, and adventure\, is expected of all our entrants. \n\n\n\nFor more information and to register your team\, click here.

To compete\, each participating team must have a smartphone or tablet with active data cellular service (no airplane mode and no Wi-Fi-only devices) and the Richta Competitor App installed. The app will report your arrival time and leg score to your cellphone or tablet moments after you pass each GPS checkpoint location. To download the app\, search for “Competitor Richta” or “Richta GPS Competitor App”  at Google Play or Apple’s App Store. For more information about the Richta GPS system\, visit https://richtarally.com. \n\n\n\nThe SCCA Detroit Region’s rally page has an excellent summary of the Richta system\, especially its Competitor App. Visit http://drscca.org/rally/using-the-richta-competitor-app. It is worth your time. \n\n\n\nAbout the St. Louis Region\, SCCA: The SCCA’s St. Louis Region\, with some 600 members\, offers Road Racing\, Performance Driving Experience (PDE)\, RallyCross\, RoadRally\, Solo (autocross)\, and Street Survival School programs to educate and provide safe environments for individuals to enjoy their street-legal (daily driver) cars and purpose-built racecars. The Region is home to more than 80 National Champions and has been recognized four times by the Sports Car Club of America as the Region of the Year in its member category. To learn more about the St. Louis Region\, visit www.stlscca.org. \n\n\n\nEvent Requirements\n\n\n\nRules and Waivers: \n\n\n\nThe standard SCCA rules regarding road rallies will be observed. To wit: proof of valid driver’s license and current auto insurance\, vehicle inspection (self-inspection by the rally team)\, and signing of applicable SCCA forms. \n\n\n\nAll participants will be required to read and sign the standard SCCA waiver before being allowed to participate in this event. The signing of the SCCA “Release and Waiver of Liability\, Assumption of Risk and Indemnity Agreement” is a precondition to participating in any SCCA event. Any adult 18 or older must sign the waiver. \n\n\n\nMinor Participants: A Minor taking part in this event must have an Annual Minor Waiver on file with the SCCA for the current calendar year\, i.e.\, 2024. \n\n\n\nThe Age of Majority is 18 except in Alabama and Nebraska\, where it is 19\, and Mississippi\, where it is 21. \n\n\n\nThe Annual Minor Waiver will be issued to the Minor by the SCCA National Office. For more information about this process\, click on the following document and see the section “Minor Annual Waivers”: Digital Annual Waiver 12-01-2021.pdf. \n\n\n\nBefore obtaining an “Annual Waiver Minor” for a child\, non-member parents/guardians\, as well as the Minor in question\, must obtain an SCCA Guest Account. \n\n\n\n1. Log onto scca.com. \n\n\n\n2. Click “Join/Renew” in the information bar at the top of the page. \n\n\n\n3. Click on “Create a Guest Account.” \n\n\n\n4. Click on “I don’t have a Member ID.” \n\n\n\n5. Complete the required information. \n\n\n\nOnce you\, as parents or guardians\, have received your Guest Accounts\, you can begin the process of acquiring an Annual Minor Waiver for your child. See again the document noted above: Digital Annual Waiver 12-01-2021.pdf. \n\n\n\nDo not wait until the last minute to obtain an Annual Minor Waiver for your Minor child/participant. SCCA staff are normally not available after regular business hours or on weekends\, so a last-minute Waiver request cannot be processed before the start of this road rally. Without a valid waiver\, your Minor will not be allowed to participate. \n\n\n\nFinally\, please read carefully: \n\n\n\nIf you are registering for the first time and paying for the event entry\, choose Option 1 on the order form and follow the prompts. \n\n\n\nIf you are registering as a co-entrant and your partner has already registered\, choose Option 2 on the order form. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n Leave a ReplyCancel reply \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n\n This site uses Akismet to reduce spam.
