SUMMARY:IL: St. Louis Region RoadRally School #2
DESCRIPTION:St. Louis Region Rally School #2 \n\n\n\nSaturday\, June 1st \n\n\n\nDescription: Rally School #2 is the second event of the St. Louis Region’s 2024 five-event Novice Series\, which will introduce teams to the basic conventions of SCCA rallying. The series is open to new teams and returning or occasional teams seeking to refresh their rally skills. Each school event will focus on a particular aspect of road rallying\, building on the preceding event. Teams may run all five events or only those that suit their schedules. \n\n\n\nThe five events of the series are April 27\, June 1\, June 29\, July 27\, and August 24. Registration for each event normally opens three weeks before the event’s date. \n\n\n\nStart and finish: Sunset Overlook\, 11604 Bluff Road\, Columbia\, Ill. \n\n\n\nSize of the field: We are limiting each field to 20 teams. \n\n\n\nRegistration: Pre-event registration is only available at MotorsportReg.com. Entries for STL Rally School #2 are accepted on a first-come basis. The $45.00 entry fee for a non-member team includes a $20.00 SCCA Weekend Membership for the team’s “primary entrant\,” i.e.\, the member who pays the entry fee. The other member of a non-SCCA team will receive a free SCCA Trial Membership (as will any non-SCCA member of an SCCA team). \n\n\n\nInformation: J. Thomas vonHatten\, Rallymaster\, 314-715-1398\, tom.vonhatten@gmail.com \n\n\n\nGood things to know: As indicated above\, we will use the Competitor – Richta GPS Checkpoint app for timing and scoring. To compete\, each participating team must have a smartphone or tablet with active data cellular service (no airplane mode and no Wi-Fi-only devices) and the Richta Competitor App installed. The app will report your arrival time and leg score to your cellphone or tablet moments after you pass each GPS checkpoint location. To download the app\, search for “Competitor Richta” or “Richta GPS Competitor App”  at Google Play or Apple’s App Store. For more information about the Richta GPS system\, visit https://richtarally.com. \n\n\n\nThe SCCA Detroit Region’s rally page has an excellent summary of the Richta system\, especially its Competitor App. Visit http://drscca.org/rally/using-the-richta-competitor-app. It is worth your time. \n\n\n\nAbout the St. Louis Region\, SCCA: The SCCA’s St. Louis Region\, with some 600 members\, offers Road Racing\, Performance Driving Experience (PDE)\, RallyCross\, RoadRally\, Solo (autocross)\, and Street Survival School programs to educate and provide safe environments for individuals to enjoy their street-legal (daily driver) cars and purpose-built racecars. The Region is home to more than 80 National Champions and has been recognized four times by the Sports Car Club of America as the Region of the Year in its member category. To learn more about the St. Louis Region\, visit www.stlscca.org. \n\n\n\nEvent Requirements\n\n\n\nRules and Waivers: \n\n\n\nThe standard SCCA rules regarding road rallies will be observed. To wit: proof of valid driver’s license and current auto insurance\, vehicle inspection (self-inspection by the rally team)\, and signing of applicable SCCA forms. \n\n\n\nAll participants will be required to read and sign the standard SCCA waiver before being allowed to participate in this event. The signing of the SCCA “Release and Waiver of Liability\, Assumption of Risk and Indemnity Agreement” is a precondition to participating in any SCCA event. Any adult 18 or older must sign the waiver. \n\n\n\nMinor Participants: A Minor taking part in this event must have an Annual Minor Waiver on file with the SCCA for the current calendar year\, i.e.\, 2024. \n\n\n\nThe Age of Majority is 18 except in Alabama and Nebraska\, where it is 19\, and Mississippi\, where it is 21. \n\n\n\nThe Annual Minor Waiver will be issued to the Minor by the SCCA National Office. For more information about this process\, click on the following document and see the section “Minor Annual Waivers”: Digital Annual Waiver 12-01-2021.pdf. \n\n\n\nBefore obtaining an “Annual Waiver Minor” for a child\, non-member parents/guardians\, as well as the Minor in question\, must obtain an SCCA Guest Account. \n\n\n\n1. Log onto scca.com. \n\n\n\n2. Click “Join/Renew” in the information bar at the top of the page. \n\n\n\n3. Click on “Create a Guest Account.” \n\n\n\n4. Click on “I don’t have a Member ID.” \n\n\n\n5. Complete the required information. \n\n\n\nOnce you\, as parents or guardians\, have received your Guest Accounts\, you can begin the process of acquiring an Annual Minor Waiver for your child. See again the document noted above: Digital Annual Waiver 12-01-2021.pdf. \n\n\n\nDo not wait until the last minute to obtain an Annual Minor Waiver for your Minor child/participant. SCCA staff are normally not available after regular business hours or on weekends\, so a last-minute Waiver request cannot be processed before the start of this road rally. Without a valid waiver\, your Minor will not be allowed to participate. \n\n\n\nFinally\, please read carefully: \n\n\n\nIf you are registering for the first time and paying for the event entry\, choose Option 1 on the order form and follow the prompts. \n\n\n\nIf you are registering as a co-entrant and your partner has already registered\, choose Option 2 on the order form. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n Leave a ReplyCancel reply \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n\n This site uses Akismet to reduce spam. SUMMARY:MI: Top Sun Regional RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:This is a Detroit SCCA Regional Rally\, it does not count toward any Road Rally Championships. The classes run in these championships are different\, and this rally is meant to give you a start/improve your start in road rallying or simply have [safe] fun on roads driving. \n\n\n\n\nYou are a car enthusiast. You enjoy driving on unpaved roads. You like the challenge of arriving at each control point on time [or somewhere near on time]. You are a good Driver-Navigator team [or at least you think so]. You want to enjoy the scenery…if you can. Do you want to learn the whole new world of road rally or learn to achieve low scores? Well then\, come participate in this very 1st Top Sun Road Rally of approximately 4.5 hours\, about 110 miles Time-Speed-Distance [TSD] road rally.  \n\n\n\n\nRallymaster Chandra Kogantis has designed this rally for people with little or no road rally experience. Let this not stop you veterans from re-living your past on how you got your start in rallying and sharing your experience with others. This is a “Tour” type rally with no traps or tricks. You and a partner (Driver and Navigator) will be issued a set of Route Instructions that will take you through the country roads in southeast Michigan. There will be two Sections with an hour break between the Sections. Use the break time to discuss with other competitors and get rally veterans’ input. Trophies will be presented to the teams who do the best job of arriving at the checkpoints at the proper times.  \n\n\n\nWe’ll be using the Richta GPS checkpoint system to record your arrival time at each checkpoint.  Once you register\, you’ll receive information on downloading a custom app to your smartphone. You’ll keep this app open while you run the rally and it will use the GPS signal from your device to record your arrival time at each checkpoint. Once you pass a checkpoint\, the app will automatically calculate your score for that checkpoint and display it to you! No more waiting for the end of the rally to see how you did. You’ll see your score on each checkpoint as you go along. \n\n\n\nLook for the Competitor Richta GPS Checkpoints app on the Google Play Store or Apple App Store or click on the appropriate link: \n\n\n\nhttps://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.richta.cpa2&hl=en_UShttps://apps.apple.com/us/app/competitor-richta-checkpoint/id1448298019 \n\n\n\n You should choose one of these three Classes to register in: \n\n\n\n\nCalculating: Unmodified stock odometer only.  The calculating device is restricted only in that it may not be integrated with the odometer and clock.\n\n\n\nSOP (Seat Of The Pants):  No timing calculations may be performed.\n\n\n\nFirst Timer:  Neither crew member has run a Time-Speed-Distance rally more than twice before. Otherwise the same as “Calculating”.\n\n\n\n\nPre-registration is required for this event at MotorSportReg.com\, and there is a 30-car limit for the Top Sun Road Rally. The General Instructions\, explaining more details about how the rally works\, will be emailed to all registered contestants prior to the event. \n\n\n\nSchedule:    \n\n\n\n            June 11:          11:00 PM • Online registration closes \n\n\n\n            June 13:         Starting order and General Instructions are emailed. \n\n\n\n            June 15:         11:00 AM • Restaurant opens \n\n\n\n                                    11:15 AM • Route instructions available \n\n\n\n                                    11:30 AM • Competitors & Safety meeting\, Q/A \n\n\n\n                                    12:31 PM • Car #1 Starts Rally \n\n\n\n                                      5:00 PM • Car #1 Finishes (approx.) \n\n\n\nEntry Fees:            $40 per car                                $20 per Weekend Membership (one per car if none is an SCCA member; $15 would be credited toward a full membership if purchased within 60 days of the event) \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n Leave a ReplyCancel reply \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n\n This site uses Akismet to reduce spam. SUMMARY:MN: Green Heck Gravel Rally
DESCRIPTION:The Green Heck Road Rally\, sanctioned by the SCCA Land ‘o Lakes Region\, is a Regional Tour all-night regularity (TSD) rally run on the twisty\, technical\, and hilly forest roads north of Park Rapids\, MN. Honoring the long history of stage rallies in the area\, this event sends you down some of the same stage roads used by John Buffum\, Rod Millen\, and Doug Shepherd in the Group B era. Battle the terrain and your own endurance as you drive toward the sunrise. \n\n\n\nWe have secured a recce exemption from ARA for Ojibwe Forests Rally competitors. \n\n\n\nEach car must include two people: a Driver and a Navigator. No other passengers are allowed. A special release is required if your Navigator is a minor (under 18 years of age). No special equipment is required. We recommend you download the Rabbit Rally 2.0 app to use our interactive digital roadbook and GPS timing for the most fun. You do NOT need to do an odometer calibration for G (GPS) Class\, but one will be available if you choose to do so. Rabbit Rally 2.0 offers an interactive digital roadbook and does all calculations so that you always know if you are on time. Time Allowances are now integrated directly into Rabbit for easier operation. \n\n\n\nScoring is done via independent GPS boxes mounted on your windows. \n\n\n\nRabbit Rally Info \n\n\n\nThe rally will start from the Super 8 in Park Rapids\, MN\, with the first car out at 1131PM\, and end at the Great Northern Cafe\, ±6.5 hours and 193 miles later.Entry fee $75 per car\, plus $20 Weekend Membership for non-SCCA members \n\n\n\nA note on road conditions and vehicle choice—Forest roads can be rough and unpredictable\, but we have found these roads to be generally smooth and without obstructions. Significant hazards will be called out in the roadbook as Cautions. Low-clearance vehicles are not recommended. Since this rally is run in remote forests at night\, we do recommend equipping your vehicle with ample forward lighting and a recovery point on the front and rear of the vehicle. Underbody protection is never a bad idea\, but will not be necessary to complete this rally safely. \n\n\n\nLet’s be good stewards of the forest and the community. The rally will be run below the speed limit with street cars. Wait\, won’t that make it boring? Sorry\, “boring” isn’t in our vocabulary. Get ready for a really fun night. Head over to MotorsportReg and sign up your team today! \n\n\n\nClasses \n\n\n\nAll competitors are expected to use the Rabbit Rally interactive roadbook with GPS mileage. \n\n\n\nClasses are divided based on the age of the competing vehicle. Awards will be presented for the best-scoring vehicle in each category. \n\n\n\n\nClassic (Up to 1972 model year)\n\n\n\nMalaise (1973-1990 model year)\n\n\n\nModern (1991 and later model year)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n Leave a ReplyCancel reply \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n\n This site uses Akismet to reduce spam. Teams may run all five events or only those that suit their schedules. \n\n\n\nThe five events of the series are April 27\, June 1\, June 29\, July 27\, and August 24.
