SUMMARY:TX: Tick Tock Rally
DESCRIPTION:You’re invited to the Tick Tock Rally\, an SCCA Regional Time-Speed-Distance (TSD) Tour Rally on scenic paved backroads of Denton County. All entrants are welcome. No prior rally experience is necessary—a precision driving event at fun speeds. Course following is easy with GPS mileage on every turn. We assign the speeds to drive. The object is to arrive at checkpoints along the route at the correct time. We score you on how close to the perfect time you arrive at checkpoint locations. No calculations are necessary. Come on out and join the SCCA Texas Region! \n\n\n\nWe will send you information on the app after you pre-register on MotorsportReg. There are 67 timing checkpoints in about 81 miles of the rally route. This year’s rally will consist of four different kinds of checkpoints\, so you can experience various flavors of TSD Tour rallying.      \n\n\n\nWe plan to conduct a Rally School via Zoom (currently scheduled for August 6th) to help prepare for the rally (for details and to pre-register for the School\, go to http://msreg.com/TTR23RSmsr). We will post a YouTube video recording for those who can’t join the live session. We encourage you to attend the School. \n\n\n\n\nStarting Place:  Shell Station\, 1306 US-380 Bus\, Decatur\, TX 76234. (on the east side of Decatur at the intersection of US 380 and Business 380)\n\n\n\nRegistration: 9:45 am to 10:15 am on Rally Day\n\n\n\nEntrant orientation/safety briefing: 10:30 am\n\n\n\nCars leave the start:  11:00 pm plus your car number\n\n\n\nLength: approx. 81 miles (~3.5 hours); includes a 25-minute rest break at Shell Station\n\n\n\nFinish: Ritzy B’s Smokehouse & Grill (BAR-B-Q)\, where we will gather for a beverage or meal\, announcements\, and awards\n\n\n\nRally type: TSD Tour. A smartphone and a clipboard and pencil are all you need—no timing calculations needed (unless in Calculating Class – see below).\n\n\n\nRoute: paved roads in Wise County\, mostly in and around the LBJ National Grasslands\n\n\n\nVehicles: Sports Cars\, Family Cars\, Classic Cars\, Antiques\, anything with four wheels that’s street-legal is OK in this Rally. Note: speed is not a factor.\n\n\n\nAt least two people (a Driver and a Navigator) are required in each car; contact rally@texasscca.org if you have a minor child (<18) in the car\, as a form will need to be signed\n\n\n\nThree classes: First-timer (neither crewmember has run a rally before)\, SOP (Seat-of-the-Pants) (no timing calculations may be performed)\, Calculating (can use any electronic app or mechanical calculator to determine if running late or early along the route)\n\n\n\nSCCA membership requirements: at least one SCCA Member is required in each car\, either Regular/annual Member or Weekend Member; if not currently a Member\, you will be able to become a Weekend Member during online pre-registration\n\n\n\nRally entry fee: regular SCCA Members $28.00; Weekend Members $40 (includes membership fee). You must preregister on MotorsportReg.com. \n\n\n\nRallymaster: Liz Witt.\n\n\n\n\nRegistrants will be emailed the rally rules well ahead of the event. All entrants must pre-register – no same-day registration allowed. We encourage entrants to pre-register at least a week in advance. It gives you time to prepare and us time to properly plan for awards and other car-count-dependent arrangements. The Rally Committee reserves the right to limit entries.

SUMMARY:TX: San Antonio 2023 Historic Tour RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:San Antonio has had more battles fought within its city limits than any other town in North America. These battles occurred while San Antonio was under the jurisdiction of Spain\, the Republic of Mexico\, The Republic of Texas\, and the Confederate States of America\, not to mention the United States. This Road Rally will take you to the approximate location of each site. However\, the exact location of some of the sites is unknown\, and other sites were running battles that ranged over several miles. If you want a more detailed investigation of any site\, you are encouraged to revisit any site on your own and at your convenience—the oldest two sites date from 1813\, and the youngest one from the 1870s. \n\n\n\nThis is a non-speed social Road Rally whose route will be along city streets\, and speed bumps may be an issue for some cars. We will start on the west side of San Antonio\, proceed to the far south side\, and then complete our tour just north of downtown. It should take 90 minutes and two hours for this RoadRally as you learn about the history of San Antonio. Questions may be asked along the route\, but awards are not based on questions or a car’s finish position. This RoadRally is meant to be a fun learning event and a social outing where all participants will vote on awards at our final destination. \n\n\n\nOn the event day\, Saturday\, 12 August 2023\, participants will meet at the west side of the Walmart Superstore parking lot in San Antonio. Registration will be from 1:00 to 2:00\, with a safety briefing at 1:45. After the safety briefing\, cars will be released for the route which takes place on city streets. Our destination is The Longhorn Cafe at 1003 Tittiman Road in San Antonio.
