SUMMARY:HI: St. Patrick's Lucky Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:The Hawaii Region of the Sports Car Club of America will be sanctioning their first Road Rally of the 2013-2014 Season on Sunday\, March 23\, 2014.  The Road Rally will be held on city streets in Honolulu\, Hawaii.\n\nThis event is also part of the Rally Challenge with the SCCA Arctic Alaska Region.\n\nRegistration and Tech Inspection start at 8AM\, Drivers Meeting at 9AM and first car out around 9:30AM.\n\nWhile the event is not a spectator event (i.e. SCCA Hawaii Rally won’t charge for viewing)\, we know that you may want to bring your family and friends to ride along. Each participating vehicle will be allowed one “navigator” and other vehicle occupants are allowed. All vehicle occupants must sign a waiver and fill out a SCCA Weekend Membership form. For this event SCCA Weekend Membership fees are waived for volunteers and passengers.\n\nRegistration fees are $20 for current SCCA members and $50* for all others.  There is a no minimum pre-registered participant requirement to hold the event andmaximum participants will be held to 30 vehicles.\n\nOnly checks or money orders payable to SCCA Hawaii-Rally will be accepted at the event.\n\n*Please note that the non-member fee includes an SCCA Weekend membership for the Driver and Navigator\, and will give you a $15-discount towards full SCCA membership\, which includes a subscription to SportsCar (our national magazine).\n\n

DESCRIPTION:This is a Tour rally featuring challenging mountain roads with breathtaking scenery\, magnificent forests and awe-inspiring overlooks. We will have the traditions of the Inaugural Leg\, Banana Leg\, and Sherman Oakes Mark.  \n\n\n\nThe rally will run to SMSCC’s First Friday Niter General Instructions\, which are available on the SMSCC website. The rally will use the Richta GPS Checkpoints timing system for 50+ checkpoints. \n\n\n\nRegistration opens at 9:00 AM\, the first car out at 10:01 AM. Beginner and Richta orientation at 9:40 AM. Each checkpoint sign will be clearly shown in the instructions\, so no guesswork will be needed.

SUMMARY:CA: Ron Dunlop Memorial Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a fun and exciting car road rally celebrating the life of Ron Dunlop\, a great guy and a tremendous rally organizer and competitor\, on Saturday\, March 19\, 2022. The Ron Dunlop Memorial Rally\, sponsored by the Into the Night Rally Team\, is sanctioned as an SCCA Divisional Tour Rally and will explore the amazing Wine Country backroads around Santa Barbara and Santa Maria. \n\n\n\nRallymaster Paul McGaffey’s Route Instructions will use a simple Monte Carlo format\, meaning you get turn-by-turn directions\, AND you will get your target time at each Checkpoint. All Timed Checkpoints are listed in the Route Instructions\, and all are referenced by prominent signs on the course. The rally is a little over 200 miles long\, and you will have seven hours of driving nirvana with many breaks for gas\, food\, and rest stops. \n\n\n\nThe object of this event is to enjoy driving sweeping\, beautiful\, challenging back roads at legal speeds while following simple directions to pass a series of checkpoints at just the right time.  \n\n\n\nThere is no need for advanced math\, no riddles\, compasses\, maps\, or gimmicks\, just glorious roads to drive with a focus on precision and accuracy. Rallying is a team sport; the Driver and Navigator must work together to get it right. \n\n\n\nThere are no average speeds. Just run at the posted speed limits (rally is timed at least two mph BELOW those limits and has pauses where needed). If you reach a timed Checkpoint early\, you can pull over\, get out of traffic lanes\, and either creep in or wait for your target time to pass by the Checkpoint. \n\n\n\nWe will be using the Richta GPS Competitor app for timing and scoring. This app is FREE and easy to use on any GPS-enabled smartphone or appropriate tablet. Go to the App Store\, Google Play Store\, or direct to https://richtarally.com/ and download it. There is no need for additional timing equipment; your Official Time shows in the app! \n\n\n\nWe’ve designed it to be EV-friendly. There are five stations and a Tesla Dealership near the Start in Camarillo\, five near the lunch break in Santa Maria\, two fast-charging stations\, and a Tesla Supercharger in the parking lot at the Finish in Goleta.  \n\n\n\nPlease register online here at MotorsportsReg. The registration fee is $60 per car\, with a $15 discount for SCCA members. You may still register in person at the Start. (Sorry\, but we will not be able to accept credit cards at Registration. Please use the MSR website to pay by credit card.) Both Driver and Navigator are required to complete the Waiver. To save time for both you and us at the Start\, we ask you to please enter your cell phone number where indicated near the bottom of the registration page\, and please check the ‘yes’ button just below that. Speedwaiver will send you a text\, and you follow their directions to use your phone to complete the Waiver. \n\n\n\nWe start at the Mcdonald’s rear lot. In-person Registration opens at 9:00 am; there is a beginner/Richta GPS meeting at 9:40 am\, and the first car out at 10:01 am. Yet we encourage you to Pre-Register so that we can have ample copies of the Route Instructions! \n\n\n\nThe finish will be at Camino Real Marketplace (near Starbucks)\, 7030 Market Place Dr\, Goleta\, CA 93117. DESCRIPTION:Join the SCCA San Diego Region on Saturday\, Sept 17th\, for the Hold’em\, Fold’em and Drink Up Buttercup Road Rally\, as they head East to enjoy the roads of San Diego County and finishing at Dulzura Vineyard. The route of 75± miles should be a run of about two hours. \n\n\n\nThe entry fee is $25 per car. One member of the team – Driver or Navigator –  must be an SCCA Member. Weekend memberships are available during online registration for $15 (and these can be used as credit for a full membership). DESCRIPTION:Eureka Road Rally is an SCCA Divisional Course Rally written by Jeanne English. It is a companion rally to ITN’s Thunder Road\, a Monte Carlo-style SCCA National Tour Rally written by Joe Akerman on Saturday\, October 15. Both are headquartered at the Hampton Inn in Arvin (Tejon Ranch)\, CA.  Registration for Eureka opens at 8:00A; route instructions are handed out at 8:30A plus your car number in minutes. Official start time is 9:00A plus your car number\, in minutes\, but once you receive your route instructions\, you are free to leave. \n\n\n\nFrom the start\, Eureka will head east to Stallion Springs (west of Tehachapi). Besides some fun roads\, the rally will visit the Tehachapi Loop and go through a covered bridge! The rally will be lightly trapped\, with Jeanne expecting most cars to do most legs correctly. You can run it using either the SCCA RRRs or SMSCC’s General Instructions\, there will be an addendum to help make that happen. \n\n\n\nThe rally will use the Richta GPS Competitor app for timing and scoring\, with timing to the second.   The maximum penalty for Eureka is 1 minute (60 seconds) per leg. SUMMARY:CA: San Diego "It's a Pie Run!" Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:The SCCA San Diego Region is back with It’s a Pie Run! Road Rally on Saturday\, December 3rd. The first car departs around 9A and should be finishing before Noon. A beginner’s video will be shared online the week before the event. The Driver’s meeting will be held on the morning of the event\, around 830A\, at the Freeport Road Park & Ride.  \n\n\n\nTeams will enjoy the twisty back roads of San Diego Country\, covering ±75 miles on fun-to-drive country roads\, following legal limits\, before finishing up at The Cooler\, Tap & Tasting Room near Julian\, CA. \n\n\n\nThe entry fee is $25 per car; one member must be an SCCA Member\, and SCCA Weekend Memberships are available during Registration for $15. These can be used as a credit toward a full SCCA Membership. \n\n\n\nYou will need paper and a pencil/pen\, a watch or clock with a second hand; a stopwatch and a clipboard will be helpful. The object of a navigational rally is to follow the rally course at the assigned (legal) speeds and arrive at each checkpoint precisely on time\, not early or late. Your score on each leg of the rally is based on how early or late you arrive at each checkpoint. All teams must have a smartphone or tablet with the Richta GPS Competitor app to enter. \n\n\n\nA valid Driver’s License and proof of current liability insurance are required. Your vehicle must meet basic safety standards (e.g.\, lights\, brakes\, windshield wipers\, and the horn must work). Each vehicle participating shall have at least two participants\, a Driver and a Navigator. Passengers are allowed\, but no more than can safely be carried in the car\, and they must sign a Speedwaiver and register for the event. \n\n\n\nResults will be posted online\, and trophies will be awarded to the top finishers in each competition class. SUMMARY:CA: Ron Dunlop Trophy Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:The Ron Dunlop Trophy Rally is an SCCA Regional Tour Rally sponsored by the Into the Night Rally Team. Non-SCCA members are welcome. Meet us at Starbucks at 7030 Market Place Drive\, Goleta\, CA. Registration opens at 12 noon.  First car out at 2:01 pm. Event runs rain or shine. All licensed and insured vehicles are welcome. \n\n\n\n\nThe event is beginner-friendly with simple\, sequential instructions. Target times and Official Mileages are given to all Checkpoints. Entry fee is $65 per car with a $10 discount for SCCA members.Scoring will be using the Richta Competitor GPS app.  This app is FREE and easy to use on any GPS-enabled smartphone or other device.  Go to the App Store or Google Play Store or  https://richtarally.com/ and download it. There is no need for additional timing equipment; your Official Time shows in the app! \n\n\n\nThis is a 5 hour event and finishes in Ventura\, CA. We are EV friendly with chargers near Start and Finish.Trophies will be awarded to the top teams in Classes E (Equipped)\, S (Stock)\, G (GPS driven rally computers) and N (Novice – 3 or fewer previous rallies). \n\n\n\nMore Info\, including the Event General Instructions can be found at www.itnrally.org and on our Into the Night Rally Team Facebook page.
