SUMMARY:CA: SCCA Cal Club First Friday Niter Social RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:The December First Friday Niter\, sanctioned by SCCA Cal Club\, Santa Monica Chapter\, is being written by Rallymaster Joanna Weissen. As is her December tradition\, the rally will highlight Christmas lights and decorations.  \n\n\n\nWe are using the Richta GPS Competitor app for timing and scoring\, with timing to the tenth of a second. All checkpoints are listed in the Route Instructions\, with each leg scored from the most recent restart. The maximum penalty for this FFN is 3 minutes (180 seconds) per leg. Before you arrive at the start\, please download the Richta GPS Competitor app to your phone; it’s a free download for Android and Apple devices. There is no need for additional timing equipment\, your Official Time shows in the app! \n\n\n\nIs your usual rally partner not available for this FFN? Let Jeanne know and she will attempt to match you up with another competitor seeking a rally partner! \n\n\n\nPlease register here on MotorSportReg as it helps us plan for how many cars will be attending and makes Registration quicker for you. Should that not work for you\, you can still register in person at the start at 7:00 pm\, with the first car out at 8:01 pm; there is a beginner/Richta meeting at 7:40 pm.

SUMMARY:CA: San Diego "It's a Pie Run!" Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:The SCCA San Diego Region is back with It’s a Pie Run! Road Rally on Saturday\, December 3rd. The first car departs around 9A and should be finishing before Noon. A beginner’s video will be shared online the week before the event. The Driver’s meeting will be held on the morning of the event\, around 830A\, at the Freeport Road Park & Ride.  \n\n\n\nTeams will enjoy the twisty back roads of San Diego Country\, covering ±75 miles on fun-to-drive country roads\, following legal limits\, before finishing up at The Cooler\, Tap & Tasting Room near Julian\, CA. \n\n\n\nThe entry fee is $25 per car; one member must be an SCCA Member\, and SCCA Weekend Memberships are available during Registration for $15. These can be used as a credit toward a full SCCA Membership. \n\n\n\nYou will need paper and a pencil/pen\, a watch or clock with a second hand; a stopwatch and a clipboard will be helpful. The object of a navigational rally is to follow the rally course at the assigned (legal) speeds and arrive at each checkpoint precisely on time\, not early or late. Your score on each leg of the rally is based on how early or late you arrive at each checkpoint. All teams must have a smartphone or tablet with the Richta GPS Competitor app to enter. \n\n\n\nA valid Driver’s License and proof of current liability insurance are required. Your vehicle must meet basic safety standards (e.g.\, lights\, brakes\, windshield wipers\, and the horn must work). Each vehicle participating shall have at least two participants\, a Driver and a Navigator. Passengers are allowed\, but no more than can safely be carried in the car\, and they must sign a Speedwaiver and register for the event. \n\n\n\nResults will be posted online\, and trophies will be awarded to the top finishers in each competition class. Real-time results are available through the free Richta GPS Competitor Approad rally competitor app at the event.  \n\n\n\nRegistration is at Motorsportreg\, where you can find more information about the event.
