SUMMARY:TX: The Horse Country Challenge Shortest Distance Map RoadRally\, Cross Roads
DESCRIPTION:The Texas Region of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) invites you to a fun drive in the country in Denton County\, Texas. All are welcome and no prior rally experience is required. We give you a map with several waypoints and you visit these specific locations on the map. With this year’s theme\, locations to be visited are in Denton County horse country. Plot your thriftiest rural trail! \nYou determine your route and drive to each location\, which will be verified by the Richta GPS smartphone app. The team who visits all the required landmarks in the shortest distance will win\, and the winners will receive awards. A trail driver’s version of the traveling salesman problem! It is not a speed or racing contest. Scores are automatically reported to the Rallymaster John Poulos. No score sheet to fill out. As we did last year\, we will encourage all contestants to download and use a GPS-based odometer app\, as a way to ensure consistency of mileage measurements across all entrants\, instead of our usual pre-rally odometer calibration check. We will send you information on these apps and procedures for their use after you pre-register. \nIf you’re new to road rally and/or still deciding whether to sign up\, we plan to conduct a brief Rally School via Zoom (August 9th) to help prepare for the rally (for details and to pre-register for the School\, go to  https://msreg.com/DMR26RSmsr). For those who can’t join the live session\, we will post a YouTube video recording of the session. \n\nRally Day: Saturday\, August 15\, 2026. See the registration link below to enter your team and learn more about the rally details for The Horse Country Challenge.\nRegistration and Starting Place: Prairie House Restaurant\, registration opens at 9:45 AM. You will receive your maps and instructions for locating seventeen or so locations in Denton county that you must visit.\nTake 30 minutes to determine your route from maps provided. No GPS/electronic aids permitted here.\nCars leave the official start whenever you are ready\, in any order (but at 1-minute intervals). First car out about 10:30 am. Length: as short as you can make it in miles\, probably about 3½ hours in time\nRally type: Shortest-distance map rally. SCCA calls this a GTA (Games\, Tours\, Adventures) rally.\nRoute: You choose your route from maps provided. You may use any public road you wish in your attempt to log the shortest distance on your odometer. Depending on your chosen route\, you may encounter short stretches of unpaved road\, though we think that the shortest-distance route will be all paved.\nClasses: First-timer\, Novice (3 rally trophies or less)\, General\, and Master (this is an optional class: no trophies). GPS and other electronic aids welcome in any class once you’re on the road.\nAt least two people (a Driver and a Navigator) are required in each car; contact roadrally@texasscca.com  if you have a minor child (<18) in the car\, as a form will need to be signed.\nVehicles: Sports Cars\, Family Cars\, Classic Cars\, Antiques\, Hot Rods\, Cruisers\, Convertibles\, anything with 4 (or even 3) wheels that’s street legal is OK in this Rally. Note: speed is not a factor.\nRally entry fee (per vehicle): $45.00; regular SCCA Members: $15.00 discount. A $5.00 late fee will be assessed to anyone not preregistered on MotorsportReg.com.

SUMMARY:OH: Triple Nickle Trek RoadRally\, Zanesville
DESCRIPTION:The SCCA Western Ohio Region’s next rally will be a lead/follow tour rally through one of Ohio’s best roads for sports cars and motorcycles\, the Triple Nickel or Route 555.  Sometimes called Ohio’s Tail of the Dragon\, and frequently used by Car and Driver for road tests and articles\, 63 miles of curves and elevation changes! \nThe route is straight-forward\, just follow signs for Route 555 even when you come to any intersections. One person should be able to follow the route (I managed on my own)\, but feel free to bring as many as you wish. If it looks like the group is spreading out\, we might try to find spots to let everyone catch up\, but I don’t want to bunch up the group and have anyone miss out on the fun. \nRegistration is $20 for all entrants per vehicle\, and you can registration via the link below\, where you’ll also find more details about the day. Saturday’s schedule will begin at 10AM at the Amrou Grotto\, with a safety and route instruction meeting at 1030AM. Lunch will be at the Triple Nickle Dinner\, before stops at covered bridges along the route. \nPS: Yes\, this is the rally that was scheduled in June\, just in case you were wondering! \n

SUMMARY:MI: Press On Regardless National Tour\, Gaylord
DESCRIPTION:You are invited to join the SCCA Detroit Region for two 230-mile brisk time-speed-distance\, National Tour RoadRally(s) in Michigan’s Lower Peninsula with a separate sanction for each day. Many historic\, challenging\, and fun roads from the 1960’s and early 70’s Press On Regardless® aka POR will be used. The Richta GPS Checkpoint app will be used for timing. During the rally\, when each car reaches a checkpoint\, the contestant’s device will signal a checkpoint has been reached. The device will then display your time and score (early or late). Your total score for the rally to that point will also be displayed. The cumulative score from both days will determine the overall winner of the 2026 POR. You can expect around 100 checkpoints each day. \nFirst run in 1949\, POR is the oldest continuously run rally in North America. These straightforward (absolutely no traps) Tour RoadRally(s) will use a mix of unpaved (80%) and paved (20%) roads varying from smooth fast gravel roads to tight and technical single lane roads. While not a car breaker\, vehicles with low ground clearance are not recommended. Liberal use of free zones and pauses help you navigate through any rough areas on the route. \nPre-registration is required and closes on Tuesday September 8 at 9:00 PM EST. \n\n30 car limit for each day.\nFriday Press On Regardless\, September 11\, 2026: SCCA member\, $100 per car.\nSaturday Press On Regardless\, September 12\, 2026: SCCA member\, $110 per car.\nNon-members must purchase a Weekend Membership. Please provide the shirt size for both entrants.\nNovices welcome and encouraged\nPoints toward Detroit Region\, Great Lakes Division SCCA\, and the SCCA National RR Championship\n\nContestants will be asked to enter in one of the following Classes\, as determined by the distance measurement and calculating devices that will be used: \n\nE – Equipment unrestricted.\nG – GPS-derived odometer integrated with any calculating device such as a rally “app” or rally computer.\nL – Odometer unrestricted (including GPS) and calculating device restricted only in that it may not be integrated with the odometer.\nS – Unmodified stock odometer only.  Calculating device restricted only in that it may not be integrated with the odometer and clock.\nNovice – Same as Class S where the combined TSD rallies between team members is less than 6.\nV- Vintage class for vehicles 25 years or older will run concurrently with any of the other classes for a separate Trophy. Scoring will use a factor (weighted) based on the class entered to “level” the playing field.\n\nHeadquarters Hotel: \n\nBaymont by Wyndham of Gaylord A block of rooms with 2 queen beds for Friday and Saturday night will be held until August 12\, 2026\, at a special rate of $129/night plus tax. Specify “Press on Regardless” to receive this rate. This rate also applies for Thursday\, September 10.\n\nTentative schedule: \n\nFPOR (Friday). Car #1 starts FPOR at 3:01 PM and Car #1 finishes at ~ 11:30 PM.\nSPOR (Saturday). Car #1 starts SPOR at 1:01 PM and Car #1 finishes at ~ 10:30 PM.\nAwards for both days and overall POR will be presented on Saturday after the finish of SPOR at The Landing Zone (same place as last year).\n\nThe route for each day will start and finish in Gaylord and stay in the Lower Peninsula. \nFPOR will travel east toward the Millersburg area using some new roads to avoid the water holes we encountered last year. \nSPOR will travel southeast toward Mio\, Glennie\, and Luzerne using roads we haven’t used since 2022/2023\, and even some from the 2010’s. \nWant further information on Press On Regardless®?
