SUMMARY:PA: Steel Haul Course Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:A sure sign of Spring is the Steel Haul Course and Tour Rallies sanctioned by the SCCA Steel Cities and Blue Ridge Mountain Sports Car Club; this year\, they take place over April 29-30th. Registration will occur Friday evening\, April 28th\, 6-9:00 PM\, in the Holiday Inn breakfast area. \n\n\n\nChuck Larouere will serve as Rallymaster for the Steel Haul Course Rally\, and Carl Staab will Rallymaster the Steel Haul Tour Rally. The rallies are eligible for the National Championships. \n\n\n\nThe Richta GPS Competitor will be used for scoring\, and all teams must have the App loaded on their smart device (phone or tablet) before Registration. \n\n\n\nRegistration is via paper\, and forms with payment shall be mailed to Registrar Rick Beattie\, 352 Woodside Road\, Pittsburgh\, PA 15221. During onsite Registration Friday evening\, Lois Van Vleet will check entry forms for completeness\, have SCCA Adult Waivers signed by both Driver and Navigator and complete the SCCA Membership and Drivers’ License verification. SUMMARY:PA: Monopoly Redux VI GTA Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:Steel Cities Region\, SCCA (western Pennsylvania area) will host its End of Summer Showcase Festival (an ‘all things SCCA’ event) on Saturday\, August 27th\, is the Monopoly Red VI RoadRally. In addition to other SCCA activities such as an autocross\, road races\, and time trials\, there will be a road rally.  \n\n\n\nThe 50 mile\, approximately three-hour afternoon event will start and finish at the Pittsburgh International Race Complex in Wampum\, PA\, just off the Pennsylvania Turnpike Beaver Valley Exit 13\, 45 miles north of Pittsburgh\, PA. \n\n\n\nLike many SportsCar Club of America RoadRally events\, this one will use fun-to-drive paved\, public\, lightly traveled country roads. You will travel below the speed limit searching for the correct signs to move tokens around the Monopoly Game board. The winning team will be the one coming closest to the correct trip around the board. The event will wind its way through tall forests and small towns\, over streams and past large farms north and east of the start. \n\n\n\nNo rally experience or equipment is necessary but you will need a legal car\, a licensed Driver and a Navigator. The entry fee is $30 per car\, and only one member of the team needs an SCCA membership. There will be special awards for novices!  \n\n\n\nStarting out at The Kentlee Coffee Cafe in Greensburg at 11:01 AM\, the rally will be 45± miles in length and should take about three hours to complete. SUMMARY:PA: SCCA Steel Cities Region Westmoreland Ramble aka CATS Rally
DESCRIPTION:It’s time for another CATS Rally. This year it is a charity rally benefiting the Westmoreland Land Trust\, and the SCCA Steel Cities Region sanctions the event. Starting in Greensburg\, PA\, the 66-mile rally will run through beautiful fall foliage enveloped scenic roads in the Laurel Highlands as you attempt to find the correct answer to Rallymaster Bruce Gezon’s often devious questions. Complimentary breakfast items will be available at the registration barn. Members of the Laurel Highlands British Car Club will display their cars before the start of the rally. Following the mid-afternoon finish\, you will find food trucks for your pleasure while results are being tabulated. The local folk music group\, The NewLanders\, will provide entertainment. \n\n\n\nAwards will be presented to both Experienced and Inexperienced teams. You will need to decide which category you fall in and register accordingly. Marque awards will also be presented\, donated by some of our sponsors. There is another separate non-SCCA rally for first-timers that will be less challenging. DESCRIPTION:The Cat 22 Monopoly© RoadRally\, sanctioned by the SCCA Steel Cities Region\, may be run any of the five days at your leisure or on the afternoon of the 30th if you wish to see some of the other cars in competition. All answers must be submitted for those running leisurely by email before 11:00 am on the 30th. \n\n\n\nCat 22 Monopoly© Rally will run on approximately 50 miles of paved roads in Westmoreland County. Scenery is superb as you travel on many roads most of you will have never seen before. Each team (minimum of two people) will use their Route Instructions to follow the course and may drive at whatever legal speeds are comfortable for them. Three hours is allotted for completing the rally but it may take less time. You will observe signs and landmarks along the right hand side of the route to proceed around the Monopoly© game board and total up your money. Scores will be based upon the accuracy of your total at the end. \n\n\n\nRegistration: On Sunday\, December 30th\, registration opens at 12:30P\, located inside Panera Bread on US 22 in Murrysville\, PA. The rally will finish at the same location and Car#1 is anticipated back about 431P. Please thank the Panera Staff for their gracious hospitality in providing a gathering place. \n\n\n\nEntry Fees: The entry fee will be $30 per car\, with 50% of the funds going to the Autism Society of Pittsburgh.
