SUMMARY:IL: Return of the G.O.A.T.S. Tour
DESCRIPTION:A number of years ago the Chicago Region SCCA held a tour-type rally to LaCrosse Wisconsin. Several of the entrants had their private radios with them to communicate with each other as we traversed the tour route. Conversation over the radios was minimal\, then suddenly the silence was broken! A voice came across the airways shouting “goats\, goats\, goats\,” and then it went silent. What we all found out later that day is that a small heard of goats were on the road just past a curve. Apparently the noise from the car and its driver yelling as loud as possible on the radio scared the goats away because no one else observed this obstacle.   \n\n\n\nNow\, we can’t promise you that same level of excitement\, nor do we want you to experience it for yourself on this Chicago Region SCCA Tour.  However\, if you join us this coming Saturday\, May 15\, 2021 the Chicago Region and its G.O.A.T.S. (Get Out and Tour Series) backroads tour series will provide you with an enjoyable day of driving\, using great Wisconsin backroads providing scenic views and plenty of turns and elevation changes. The drive will take approximately 2.5 hours to complete ending in Paoli\, Wisconsin\, where there will be options for lunch and some socializing. Join us\, won’t you\, for The Return of the G.O.A.T.S. \n\n\n\nWhen: Saturday May 15\, 2021 \n\n\n\nRegistration:  Pre-event registration is required. Registration on opens April 12\, 2021. click on the link to MotorsportReg\, the entry deadline is Saturday May 8\, 2021.  \n\n\n\nEntry Fee per car: $14.00 SCCA Members\, $30.00 Non-members (Weekend membership for all non-member drivers is required (fee is included in entry). Any navigator / passenger who is not an SCCA member must complete the Trial Membership form (no additional fees assessed).   \n\n\n\nStarting point: Blain’s Farm & Fleet\, at the northeast corner of the parking lot near the McDonalds. Check-in at the event will open at 9:00 am\, with the first car off promptly at 10:00 am.  Please remain in your vehicle with a mask on when you arrive\, the registrars will come to you.

SUMMARY:IL: Wine in Time Spring Tour Road Rally @ Flying J Travel Center
DESCRIPTION:The SCCA Chicago Region will run another G.O.A.T.S. (Get Out and Tour Series) event on Saturday\, May 18th\, with the Wine in Time Tour Rally. Join us this spring for another drive through northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin on some of the most scenic backroads to enjoy.  \n\n\n\nThis Chicago Region SCCA\, G.O.A.T.S. backroads tour will provide you with an enjoyable day of driving\, using great backroads\, scenic views\, plenty of turns\, and elevation changes. The drive will be approximately 120 miles\, ending in Prairie du Sac at The Wollersheim Winery –Distillery – Bistro\, where we will all meet for lunch and some socializing. The vineyard began in the 1840s and turned to dairy farming during prohibition. In 1972\, the Wollersheim family purchased the property\, and they resumed winemaking. Wollersheim Winery is a National Historic Site and has won many awards for its wines.  After lunch\, if you like\, you can visit the wine-tasting room or the distillery and pick up some treats. Join us\, won’t you\, for a great drive\, good food\, wine\, and a chance to visit with friends.  \n\n\n\nThe Tour/Rally is scheduled to take place on Saturday\, May 18\, 2024. The starting point will be the Flying “J” in South Beloit\, IL. Registration is required on MotorsportsReg\, and check-in on the day of will open at 9 AM.     \n\n\n\nEvent Information: \n\n\n\nRegistration:  Pre-event registration is required.  Registration is open on (click link) MotorsportReg\,   The entry deadline for this event is midnight Sunday May 12\, 2024.  \n\n\n\nEntry Fee per car: $25.00 SCCA Members\, $45.00 Non-members (a $20.00 Weekend Membership fee for all non-member drivers is required\, which is included in entry). The Weekend Membership fee can be applied towards a full SCCA Membership. All cars must have a Driver and a Navigator. Any Navigator/passenger who is not an SCCA Member will be asked to sign a Trial Membership document at the starting point (no additional fees assessed).  \n\n\n\nStarting point: Flying J Travel Center (the northwest corner of I-90 /39 and Illinois Rt. 75) by Denny’s Restaurant.
