SUMMARY:CA: Hernandez Hideaway Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:Join the SCCA San Diego Region on Saturday\, April 6th (yes\, this is our rescheduled February 3rd rally) for a navigational TSD (time/speed/distance) Road Rally on public roads at assigned (legal) speeds. A score will be awarded based on your correct arrival time at checkpoints. \n\n\n\nOur 75-mile route for Hernandez Hideaway Road Rally will start at Hernandez Hideaway Restaurant and then head into the twisty coastal roads of San Diego County\, finishing at the Hernandez Hideaway Restaurant.  \n\n\n\nA beginner’s video will be shared online the week before the event. You will need paper\, a pencil/pen\, a watch or clock with a second hand\, a stopwatch\, and a clipboard. A valid driver’s license and proof of current liability insurance are required. Your vehicle must meet basic safety standards (e.g.\, lights\, brakes\, windshield wipers\, and horn must work). The Driver’s meeting will be held on the morning of the event around 8:00 AM. \n\n\n\nThe cost is $30 per car and requires a street-legal vehicle\, a Driver\, and a Navigator. The Driver or Navigator must be an SCCA Member; Weekend Memberships are available for $20 during registration and can be used for credit toward a full SCCA Membership.   \n\n\n\nResults will be posted online. SUMMARY:CA: Backcountry Bliss Rally
DESCRIPTION:Join the SCCA San Diego Region\, on its Backcountry Bliss Rally\, on Saturday\, July 15th. The TSD Tour Rally will be using the Richta GPS Checkpoints app for scoring. The Region’s “Beginner Video” will be shared online the week before the rally. SUMMARY:CA: Coast to Coast RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:The SCCA San Diego Region is going Coast to Coast? We’re not sure which coasts\, yet on Saturday\, May 6th\, teams will take on the challenge of the Coast to Coast Road Rally\, an SCCA-sanctioned TSD (Time-Speed-Distance) RoadRally. The object of a navigational rally is to follow the rally course at the assigned (legal) speeds and to arrive at each checkpoint on time; not early\, not late. Your score on each leg of the rally is based on how early or late you arrive at each checkpoint.  \n\n\n\nTeams will gather at the La Costa Avenue Park & Ride in Carlsbad with a Driver’s Meeting at 8AM. The route\, which will cover ~75 miles will head to the coast and the into the twisty backroads of San Diego County and finishing at Tidewater Tavern in Solana Beach. \n\n\n\nEntry fee is $30 per car. The Driver or Navigator must be an SCCA Member. Note that Weekend Memberships are available during Registration for $15\, and these Weekend Memberships can be used as a credit for a full SCCA Membership. \n\n\n\nYou will need paper and a pencil/pen\, a watch or clock with a second hand; a stopwatch and a clipboard will be helpful. A valid driver license and proof of current liability insurance are required. Your vehicle must meet basic safety standards (e.g.\, lights\, brakes\, windshield wipers and horn must work). \n\n\n\nThe rally is under the SCCA Road Rally Rules\, and the San Diego Region Road Rally General Instructions. \n\n\n\nEach vehicle participating shall have at least two participants\, a Driver and Navigator. Passengers are allowed but no more than can safely be carried in the car\, and they must sign a Speedwaiver and register for the event. \n\n\n\nRegistration is through MotorsportReg\, which also has more information about the rally. Should you have a Minor (under 18 yeas of age) in your vehicle\, you will need to follow the instructions to obtain an SCCA Minor Waiver prior to the Coast to Coast RoadRally. \n\n\n\nResults will be posted online and trophies will be awarded to the top finishers in each Class of competition. The event will start near Panera Bread in the Otay Ranch Town Center\, with the first car due out at 9 AM. Sanctioned as a Regional Course Rally\, Rallymaster Peter Bollenbecker\, expects to cover roughly 100 miles\, mostly on fun to drive country roads\, over the three-hour rally. \n\n\n\nRegistration is at motorsportreg.com\, and it will close on April 29\, 2021\, at 12 Noon. Don’t delay registering as the San Diego Region’s events are enjoyable\, and you’ll want to get in on the adventure!
