Whether you’re a first-time participant or a Road Rally veteran\, this FUNdraising tradition is the perfect way to spend a summer Sunday. Gather your team\, hop in the car\, and get ready to put your observation skills\, teamwork\, and sense of adventure to the test. Online registration is open now\, so reserve your spot and get ready to hit the road. Check-in is 1:00-2:00 PM (all vehicles must be on the course by 2:00 PM).\n\n\nSupporting Local Students\nEvery registration helps make a difference. Proceeds from the Ithaca Rotary Road Rally benefit the James L. Gibbs Ithaca High School Scholarship Fund\, helping local students pursue higher education and achieve their goals. When you participate\, you’re not only enjoying an afternoon of fun\, you’re investing in the future of our community.\n\n\n\nHow the Road Rally Works\nThis isn’t a race… it’s a scavenger hunt on wheels! Beginning at The Plantsmen Nursery in Groton\, teams will follow a series of clues along approximately 30 miles of scenic country roads\, answering questions\, collecting scavenger hunt items\, and snapping photos along the way.\n\nYour journey will challenge you to:\n\nSolve clues and riddles\nAnswer questions about your surroundings\nTake creative team photos\nCollect scavenger hunt items\n\nThe route ends at a mystery finish location\, where teams must arrive by 4:30 PM to be eligible for prizes. After turning in your clue sheet\, stick around to celebrate with fellow participants. Enjoy beverages or an early dinner (available for purchase)\, compare stories from the road\, and cheer on the winning teams. For even more fun\, participants are encouraged to decorate their vehicles or wear costumes to show off their team spirit.\nRegistration:\n\nAdults: $25\, Youth (12–18): $10 (may be made at check-in)\, and Children 11 and under are FREE!\n\nWho Can Participate?\nEveryone is welcome! SUMMARY:NY: Oneonta Rotary Club Road Rally Scavenger Hunt
DESCRIPTION:The Oneonta Rotary Club has borrowed a clever fundraising idea that will keep people engaged in a fun activity this Sunday as Rotary holds their first Road Rally Scavenger Hunt Fundraiser on Sunday\, October 18th. \n\n\n\nCars must cross the finish line at the Quality Inn by 4:30 p.m. that day to be eligible for prizes. Teams will be judged on a combination of time\, mileage\, number of clues correctly answered and group photos. All teams are eligible for the Random Draw prize. Teams that dress in costume and/or decorate their cars are eligible to win a Spirit Award. Winners will be announced at the club meeting on October 22 and will be notified by phone. \n\n\n\nPrize winners receive a gas card or other automotive-themed gift certificate or item and the Oneonta Rotary Club will donate a mini-grant in your honor\, to the local community organization of your choice\, selected from the following: Catholic Charities Caring Connections\, Family Services Association\, Opportunities for Otsego Violence Intervention Program\, St. James Feeding Ministries which includes the Lord’s Table and the Loaves and Fishes Pantry\, St. Mary’s Church Food Pantry\, The Salvation Army Food Bank and Saturday’s Bread. Mini-grants range from $50 to $500. \n\n\n\nCost for the Road Rally is $25 for 18 years of age and older; $10 for 12-17; and free for under 12. Each team must consist of at least two adults. Participants will also have the option of purchasing a take home dinner from the Quality Inn which will donate 50% of sales to the Oneonta Rotary Club. \n\n\n\nProceeds from the event benefit the work of the Oneonta Rotary Club. Please note that to make sure that everyone has an enjoyable and safe experience\, all participants must wear a mask and practice appropriate social distancing when out of their vehicles.
