SUMMARY:IN: More Scrambled Legs Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:The SCCA Southern Indiana Region kicks off their rally season on Sunday\, March 8th\, with More Scrambled Legs. The event will start from Hardee’s in Evansville\, and Rallymaster Bob Sonntag encourages you to arrive a little early if this is your first rally or first rally in a long time.; there will be some brief tutoring to make your day more fun!\n\nHere’s the link to information and registration in MSR:  https://msreg.com/2026-RALLY-1. Preregistration is required; there is no onsite registration. Drivers register first and then the Navigator. Please\, do not bring someone who is not registered. Guests should use the SpeedWaiver process during registration.\n\nThe route is all paved. Nearly all of it nicely paved. There’s spot about 40 feet long of “tough winter” and it’s not a problem.\n\nThose with good memories may remember last year’s Scrambled Legs and this second helping is a different take on much of that route.  Oh sure\, there’s a visit to Buente Road\, a touch of Trapp Road\, a little counting of Opps at Ts\, some loops\, and one other little thing to see who will drop shell into their omelet.\n\nAdjustments have been made for the 90s that aren’t “CASTable.”\n\nWith breaks & no mistakes\, the route runs about 97 miles and will take about 3.25 hours to get to Los Bravos on Evansville’s west side.\n\nJoin us and see if\, as a friend put it\, if this rally is all it’s cracked up to be.\n\n\n\n\n

SUMMARY:VT: New England Region Winter Challenge RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:The Winter Challenge Rally\, by Rallymaster John Buffum\, will take place February 28th and end in the early morning hours of March 1st. The rally will generally follow the NER (New England Region) Road Rally Regulations (RRR)\, which can be viewed at (NER.ORG). We have condensed the RRR’s and these ‘Generals’ should be all you need to follow the correct course. Interested teams can find more information at winterchaallengerally.com. \nRally Philosophy: \nWINTER CHALLENGE RALLY (WC) is not a ‘trap rally; it has a couple of thinking situations in Section 1) – don’t overthink every NRI. There will be 15-20 Regularity Sections (RS) throughout the day (night).  The controls at the start of Regularity Sections are called CZT’s (Car Zero Time); you should self-start (at 1 minute intervals) at your start time. No penalties will accrue at these controls. Within the RS’s\, starting at the CZT\, there will be timed portions (Legs). \nYou will be penalized for every SECOND you arrive early or late at timing control points in these Legs. There may be multiple controls in each timed portion (leg). After the last timing CP or the notation “End Regularity timing” (whichever comes first)\, there are no controls and competitors can travel at their own pace. Driving normally\, you should get to the start of the next RS 2 minutes before your RESTART time.  The Route Instructions will show the RESTART time for Car 0. Your Richta phone will show your ideal RESTART time.

SUMMARY:CO: Rallye Glenwood Springs
DESCRIPTION:The Rallye Glenwood Springs\, now in it’s 73rd year is the longest continually-held car rallye in North America. It brings cars and drivers of all marques together for three days of driving fun. Friday June 6 is our TSD Rallye from Denver to Glenwood Springs\, followed by a Welcome Dinner for participants. Saturday’s event is a scenic gimmick rallye starting and finishing in Glenwood Springs\, and Sunday includes a car show and funkhana. The entry fee for those team competing in all three events\, and the car show\, is $99.00.\n\nThe rallye is a traditional Time Speed Distance (TSD) event and is challenging and devious\, but probably not diabolical. Our Ministers of Misdirection and Skullduggery (Rallye Masters) have avoided hard-to-see signs and other annoyances to ensure a fun and challenging rallye experience. Like last year\, we are using a GPS-based smart phone app called the Richta GPS Competitor to score Friday’s rallye\, which is a free and easy to use app that is available on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Be sure to download the Richta GPS Competitor app before arriving on Friday morning. \nAs always\, please bring a clipboard\, pen/pencil and paper\, stopwatch\, and a well-read copy of the Rallye General Instructions (downloaded from our website). Also bring a charger for your smart phone that you can use in the car.  The GPS function uses more power than the phone alone. One or more experienced rallyists will be available at the start location to answer questions and get you on your way. \nAll assigned speeds will be at or below posted speed limits. There will be breaks along the route\, including a lunch break. \nRallye Classes:\n\nNovice SOP (Seat of the Pants) – Rallyists are eligible for Novice class until they win a First Place or have competed in THREE TSD Rallyes. Pencil and paper calculations only.\nIntermediate SOP – Rallyists are eligible for Intermediate class until they have won First Place in Intermediate class.  Pencil and paper calculations only.\nExperienced SOP – No limit on experience. Pencil and paper calculations only. Rallye charts and tables are permitted.\nVintage – Any equipment must be period correct. Cars must have been manufactured before 1970.\nComputer – No limit on equipment.\n\nParticipants are expected to properly determine their Rallye class and enter it in Richta GPS Competitor. Failure to indicate your class in Richta GPS Competitor will place you in Experienced SOP class. \nAwards are given for first through fourth places in Novice and Intermediate classes\, and first through third places in Experienced\, Vintage\, and Computer classes. \n\nAll car brands (and their drivers) are welcome and no experience is necessary! Hosted by the MG Car Club – Rocky Mountain Centre\, this long-running and reasonably priced event includes fun competition\, beautiful roads\, and great cars.

SUMMARY:BC: Tour de North Rally 2025
DESCRIPTION:Come and join the Rally Association of Vancouver Island for the Tour de North\, a mostly rural mid island adventure! Challenge your friends to join in\, starting and ending in Courtenay. \nIt will be a fun day on scenic back roads\, mostly paved. The trick is to “stay on time” to avoid any time penalties. Remember\, this is not a race\, but a precision driving event that pits a team of two\, a Driver and a Navigator\, to negotiate some fantastic roads\, at challenging\, but below legal limit speeds. \nSure\, it sounds easy\, but it’s not! This is a true novice event\, so everything is clearly spelled out\, with easy to follow instructions\, recovery points if you get lost\, and talented rallyists with years of experience to (hopefully) get you into rallysport\, by answering questions and giving guidance. From the “Novice Drivers Meeting”\, scrutineering (checking that your car meets rally rules; also called Tech Check) your car\, throughout the event\, to the dinner and awards\, you will have a BLAST! \nSmiles and stories\, guaranteed. \n\n\n\nThe rally is sanctioned by Rally Pacific Motorsports (RPM\, the BC region of CARS)\, and follows the current BC Rally Regulations. \n\n\n\nThe event is limited to 30 entries\, so head over to MotorsportReg today\, where you’ll find more the Tech Check form\, Supplementals and more! This event will use Richta GPS Checkpoints\, which is free and available for both iOs and Android\, for scoring the event.

SUMMARY:• May the 4th Be With You Episode 2 RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:The SCCA Buccaneer Region’s most successful road rally is back! This time with more prizes\, more trivia\, and a route that follows Star Wars Episode 2: Attack of the Clones movie! \nNew for 2025!\nPrizes for best dressed or costume\, best decorated car\, best wookiee roar impression\, highest trivia score\, and more!\nEach team will be tasked with tracking down Padmé’s attempted assassin by traversing the busy streets of Coruscant. Then track the mysterious bounty hunter to Kamino where you’ll discover the droid army the Federation has been manufacturing in secret. After that\, it’s on to Geonosis where you’ll have to escape the Reek\, Acklay\, and Nexu before engaging in a lightsaber battle with Count Duku. After a battle well fought\, you’ll finally report back to the Jedi Council – for awards\, prizes\, and event wrap-up. \nThis event is an SCCA TSD (time-speed-distance) Road Rally\, where each vehicle will drive on paved public roads\, following a set of predefined route instructions through various checkpoints using the Richta GPS Checkpoints mobile application. Participants will be scored based on their arrival time at each of the defined checkpoints. We will start at Panera\, located near downtown Jacksonville\, where cars will depart every 1 minute. The finish will be a sit-down restaurant at the Saint Johns Town Center\, where scoring\, awards\, and lunch will be available (you are responsible for purchasing your food; we encourage everyone to eat and support the location). \nNew to road rally or unsure what they’re all about? Check out RoadRally 101: Everything YOU need to know to Rally Your Car by Red Hen Racing on YouTube. It is somewhat lengthy\, yet a humorous video explanation. \nAny car is allowed\, provided it meets all Florida state laws and is insured to meet the state’s minimum requirements. A valid driver’s license and proof of insurance will be required at on-site registration. Each car is allowed as many people as there are seatbelts in the vehicle\, but each car is required to have at least 2 people: a Driver and a Navigator. There will be a starting location\, a calibration zone\, multiple free/transit zones\, and several unmanned checkpoints. Team numbers will be assigned\, but the starting order will be determined at random. \nThere are three available classes for this rally: Stock\, Limited\, and Seat of Your Pants. Visit https://www.scca.com/pages/roadrally-rules for official class descriptions and rules. Below are some examples of the types of setups used in each class. \n\nStock: Using your vehicle’s stock trip/odometer\, smartphone as a calculator\, and a stopwatch (perhaps the same or another smartphone). This is the most common class and recommended for novices.\nLimited: Using the car’s built in navigation system to show distance traveled\, a 3rd party GPS tracking system via mobile app (i.e. Richta Odometer\, Maps\, or a Odometer/Trip app)\, as long as that information isn’t transferable to the calculating device (i.e. can’t be the same smartphone running the app and calculations).\nSOP: Just your odometer\, pens/pencils\, stopwatch\, and gut instincts. No calculator of any kind.\n\nOnline registration for the driver and navigator is required at Motorsportreg.com! \nStarting Location: Panera Bread\nFinishing Location: Chuy’s\, 4914 Town Center Pkwy\, Jacksonville\, FL\nRegistration Fee: $30 for SCCA members\, $50 for non-SCCA members (Weekend Membership required)\nEstimated Duration: 35 miles\, 1.5 – 2hrs in duration (depending on traffic conditions in Coruscant and Geonosis)\, breaks are allowed along the way at your leisure.\nRequired Equipment: A Dedicated smartphone with the Richta GPS Checkpoint mobile app; the phone cannot be used while the rally is active. Download at https://richtarally.com/\nRecommended Equipment: Clipboard\, pencils/pens\, highlighters\, stopwatches (smartphone ok)\, calculator\, secondary (and/or 3rd) smartphone \nEvent Schedule:\nThursday May 1st 11:59pm – Online event registration closes\nSunday May 4th 9:15am – On-site check in opens\nSunday May 4th 10:00am – First car out\nSunday May 4th 12:00pm (estimated) – First car arrives\nSunday May 4th 1:00pm (estimated) – Award ceremony \n

SUMMARY:OH: Ohio Winter RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:Neohio Region\, SCCA invites you to enter the 2025 Ohio Winter Rally (OWR) on February 1! This annual hivernal tour of the Lake Erie “snowbelt” counties of far northeastern Ohio dates back to at least 1966. It was one of the core events of the long-lamented Ohio Rally Championship (ORC) series. \n\n\n\nCompetitors can expect an absolutely straightforward\, gimmick-free Time-Speed-Distance (TSD) road rally\, with an emphasis on precise timing at well-placed controls. Columnar “tulip” style route instructions\, with Official Mileages for all action points (similar to a stage rally routebook)\, will be used. The ~165-mile route will wind through Ohio’s Geauga\, Ashtabula\, and surrounding counties. \n\n\n\nPrevailing road and weather conditions will dictate the rally’s difficulty. Competitors should come prepared to spend extended periods outside in severe winter conditions.  \n\n\n\nTo help teams with limited prior timekeeping experience stay on schedule and to mitigate the possibility of “double jeopardy” penalties from carrying a timing error through multiple controls\, parenthetical perfect cumulative leg times will be provided at all speed change locations. This will be done through the Richta GPS Checkpoints app\, available as a free download for your smart device. \n\n\n\nRegistration and more information are available on motorsportreg.com. However\, it is important to note that there will be no on-site registration\, and online registration closes on Wednesday\, January 29th. \n\n\n\nThe rally will count toward both the SCCA Great Lakes Division (GLD) Rally Championship and the SCCA National Touring Rally (NTR) Championship (Divisional Rally). \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n Leave a ReplyCancel reply \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n\n This site uses Akismet to reduce spam. SUMMARY:CA: USRRC 2024 Stagecoach RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:STAGECOACH is a 6-hour SCCA National Tour Rally on Sunday\, Nov. 10\, 2024\, and the second of three rallies in the 2024 United States Road Rally Challenge. Stagecoach Rallymaster Larry Scholnick has written a simple\, straightforward course through some of the tastiest local backroads. This rally will use the Flying restart truncate. All checkpoints will be identified in the Route Instructions. Stagecoach will finish near the Start. \n\n\n\nTo welcome and encourage participation at the USRRC\, any or all of these three rallies can be run as Regional rallies. Regional entrant finishes will not count toward the annual National Championship\, nor will they be included in Lifetime Points. The Regional versions will run simultaneously and use the same course and Route Instructions as the National rallies\, but will not be scored against the National competitors. The Regionals will have their own separate results and trophies. \n\n\n\nOther rallies in the 2024 United States RoadRally Challenge are: \n\n\n\nTHUNDER ROAD is an 8-hour SCCA National Tour Rally on Saturday\, Nov. 9\, 2024\, and the first event of three rallies in the 2024 United States Road Rally Challenge. Rallymaster Joe Akerman has written a very scenic course with many things to keep folks on both sides of the car busy. The Monte Carlo format will include CZT at all restarts and checkpoints\, and creeping/stopping will be allowed. Thunder Road will finish near the Start. \n\n\n\nHIGHWAY ROBBERY is a 6-hour SCCA National Course Rally on Veterans Day\, Monday\, Nov. 11\, 2024. Highway Robbery Rallymaster Jeanne English has written a moderately challenging course utilizing variable Main Road Rules and covering some exciting and picturesque driving roads. There will be variable main road determinants\, but no more than four at any time (often only two). The Rallymaster expects most teams to do most legs correctly. Highway Robbery will finish some distance south of Start\, heading back towards Los Angeles. \n\n\n\nAll three rallies will use the Competitor – Richta GPS Checkpoints app for timing and scoring. The maximum penalty on all three rallies is 30 seconds (1/2 minute) per checkpoint. \n\n\n\nThe pre-entry National entry fee is $105 per car per rally for the Nationals or $270 for all three\, a savings of $15 per rally entry. The entry fee for the Regionals is $60 per car per rally or $135 for all three\, with the same savings offer of $15 per rally entry. \n\n\n\nThe weekend rally headquarters is the Hampton Inn and Suites\, Lancaster\, CA. The special room rate for the rally weekend is $125/night plus tax and includes free breakfast\, parking\, and WiFi. (A credit card is needed to make your reservation\, but you won’t be charged until the first night of your stay. Hotel cancellations are allowed up to 24 hours before arrival without penalty.) Use this link to reserve your room. \n\n\n\nTo register for any or all of these 3 National rallies\, please use this link for Motorsportreg. \n\n\n\nUse this link to go to the Regional entry page. \n\n\n\nDon’t hesitate to contact Rallymaster Joe Akerman via text or email if you have any questions. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n Leave a ReplyCancel reply \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n\n This site uses Akismet to reduce spam. Thomas vonHatten\, Rallymaster\, 314-715-1398\, tom.vonhatten@gmail.com \n\n\n\nGood things to know: As indicated above\, we will use the Competitor – Richta GPS Checkpoint app for timing and scoring. To compete\, each participating team must have a smartphone or tablet with active data cellular service (no airplane mode and no Wi-Fi-only devices) and the Richta Competitor App installed. The app will report your arrival time and leg score to your cellphone or tablet moments after you pass each GPS checkpoint location. To download the app\, search for “Competitor Richta” or “Richta GPS Competitor App”  at Google Play or Apple’s App Store. For more information about the Richta GPS system\, visit https://richtarally.com. \n\n\n\nThe SCCA Detroit Region’s rally page has an excellent summary of the Richta system\, especially its Competitor App. Visit http://drscca.org/rally/using-the-richta-competitor-app. It is worth your time. \n\n\n\nAbout the St. Louis Region\, SCCA: The SCCA’s St. Louis Region\, with some 600 members\, offers Road Racing\, Performance Driving Experience (PDE)\, RallyCross\, RoadRally\, Solo (autocross)\, and Street Survival School programs to educate and provide safe environments for individuals to enjoy their street-legal (daily driver) cars and purpose-built racecars. The Region is home to more than 80 National Champions and has been recognized four times by the Sports Car Club of America as the Region of the Year in its member category. To learn more about the St. Louis Region\, visit www.stlscca.org. \n\n\n\nEvent Requirements\n\n\n\nRules and Waivers: \n\n\n\nThe standard SCCA rules regarding road rallies will be observed. To wit: proof of valid driver’s license and current auto insurance\, vehicle inspection (self-inspection by the rally team)\, and signing of applicable SCCA forms. \n\n\n\nAll participants will be required to read and sign the standard SCCA waiver before being allowed to participate in this event. The signing of the SCCA “Release and Waiver of Liability\, Assumption of Risk and Indemnity Agreement” is a precondition to participating in any SCCA event. Any adult 18 or older must sign the waiver. \n\n\n\nMinor Participants: A Minor taking part in this event must have an Annual Minor Waiver on file with the SCCA for the current calendar year\, i.e.\, 2024. \n\n\n\nThe Age of Majority is 18 except in Alabama and Nebraska\, where it is 19\, and Mississippi\, where it is 21. \n\n\n\nThe Annual Minor Waiver will be issued to the Minor by the SCCA National Office. For more information about this process\, click on the following document and see the section “Minor Annual Waivers”: Digital Annual Waiver 12-01-2021.pdf. \n\n\n\nBefore obtaining an “Annual Waiver Minor” for a child\, non-member parents/guardians\, as well as the Minor in question\, must obtain an SCCA Guest Account. \n\n\n\n1. Log onto scca.com. \n\n\n\n2. Click “Join/Renew” in the information bar at the top of the page. \n\n\n\n3. Click on “Create a Guest Account.” \n\n\n\n4. Click on “I don’t have a Member ID.” \n\n\n\n5. Complete the required information. \n\n\n\nOnce you\, as parents or guardians\, have received your Guest Accounts\, you can begin the process of acquiring an Annual Minor Waiver for your child. See again the document noted above: Digital Annual Waiver 12-01-2021.pdf. \n\n\n\nDo not wait until the last minute to obtain an Annual Minor Waiver for your Minor child/participant. SCCA staff are normally not available after regular business hours or on weekends\, so a last-minute Waiver request cannot be processed before the start of this road rally. Without a valid waiver\, your Minor will not be allowed to participate. \n\n\n\nFinally\, please read carefully: \n\n\n\nIf you are registering for the first time and paying for the event entry\, choose Option 1 on the order form and follow the prompts. \n\n\n\nIf you are registering as a co-entrant and your partner has already registered\, choose Option 2 on the order form. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n Leave a ReplyCancel reply \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n\n This site uses Akismet to reduce spam.
