DESCRIPTION:It’s February\, which means Jeanne English will be the Rallymaster and celebrating her birthday! The rally will travel some of the Santa Clarita area canyon roads\, with the emphasis on fun driving. There are NO TRAPS on this month’s rally\, so be prepared to stay on time! The rally finishes at Topper’s Pizza Place\, 18417 Soledad Canyon Rd\, Santa Clarita (at the intersection of Soledad Canyon and Sierra Highway).  \n\n\n\nWe will be using the Richta GPS Competitor app for timing and scoring\, with timing in seconds. The maximum penalty this month is 120 seconds (2 minutes) per leg.This app is FREE and easy to use on any GPS-enabled smartphone.Go to the App Store or Google Play Store\, or https://richtarally.com/. There is no need for additional timing equipment or clocks – your Official Time shows in the app!   \n\n\n\nAlso\, if you want to see all the scores at the Finish\, download the FREE Richta Scoreboard app. \n\n\n\nPlease try to register online at msreg.com/FFN022023 for the SCCA Cal Club\, Santa Monica Sports Car Club sanctioned rally. DESCRIPTION:Tanned\, rested and ready… A northeast Ohio tradition since 1966 is back! Neohio Region\, SCCA invites you to enter the 2023 Ohio Winter Rally. The ~165 mile route will traverse portions of northeast Ohio’s Lake Erie “snowbelt” counties.\n\n\n\nCompetitors can expect an absolutely straightforward\, gimmick-free\, Time-Speed-Distance (TSD) road rally with emphasis on precise timing at well placed controls. Columnar “tulip” style route instructions\, with Official Mileages for all action points (similar to a stage rally routebook)\, will be used.\n\n\n\nIn an effort to help teams with limited prior timekeeping experience stay on schedule\, and to mitigate the possibility of “double jeopardy” from carrying a timing error through multiple controls\, parenthetical perfect cumulative leg times will be provided at all speed change locations.\n\n\n\nThe rally will count toward both the SCCA Great Lakes Division Rally Championship\, and the SCCA National Touring Rally Championship as Divisional Rally.\n\n\n\nTentative Schedule (all times EST): \n\n\n\nSaturday\, January 28\, 2023: 23:59 – Early entry cutoff \n\n\n\nWednesday\, February 1\, 2023: 18:00 – Registration closes. General Instructions\, and Richta password distributed via email. \n\n\n\nThursday\, February 2\, 2023: 20:00 – Competitor briefing / Novice Q & A session (via Zoom) \n\n\n\nSaturday\, February 4\, 2023: \n\n\n\n     13:30-14:30 – On-site registration \n\n\n\n     15:01 – Car #1 starts rally. \n\n\n\n      20:45 (approx) – Car #1 finishes. \n\n\n\nCompetition Classes: \n\n\n\n     E – Equipment unrestricted. \n\n\n\n     L – Odometer unrestricted. DESCRIPTION:The long-awaited Winter Challenge Road Rally\, sanctioned by the SCCA New England Region\, by Rallymaster John Buffum. We encourage you to check the Winter Challenge Road Rally website for more information.   \n\n\n\nThe Winter Challenge Rally weekend\, presented by Vermont SportsCar\, will consist of a single SCCA New England Region rally running from 4 pm Saturday until 1 am Sunday with two breaks. Although no car-breaking roads will be used\, most of the roads chosen are rural\, unpaved roads\, which will undoubtedly be snow and ice-covered.  \n\n\n\nFor 2023\, the anticipated classes may be: \n\n\n\n\nClass A    Calculating equipment may receive direct input from a mileage-measuring device. Typical calculating devices in this Class include Alfa\, Chronar\, Timewise\, and Zeron rally computers.\n\n\n\nClass L    If distance information is acquired only from a mechanical odometer\, it must be manually fed into any calculation device; the distance measuring device must be separate from the calculation device.  (e.g. Curta calculators\, tables\, laptop computers\, electronic APP\, programmable and nonprogrammable electronic calculators. If the distance information is derived solely from GPS signals\, then any electronic APP may be used.\n\n\n\nClass S   Distance information must be visually acquired from the vehicle’s stock\, non-adjustable odometer in the stock location.

DESCRIPTION:The Annual Cascade Sports Car Club Road Rally School and Rally. \n\n\n\nThe Cascade Sports Car Club (CSCC) Road Rally School will be a Zoom Class on Friday evening\, February 17th. SUMMARY:TX: Sweetheart Ride Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:The Texas Region of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) invites you to join us for Jerry White’s annual Valentine’s Day-themed Sweetheart Ride Road Rally. It will be about a 90-mile drive on some of the scenic hard surfaced country roads in Johnson and Ellis Counties. All are welcome and no prior rally experience is necessary. \n\n\n\nThe challenge is to see how many correct puzzle solutions (many with a sweetheart theme) you can find based on signs and objects along the rally route. Puzzles can have from zero (0) to four (4) correct solutions. Think of it as a visual scavenger hunt. Google Forms will be used to display the route instructions and puzzles and to collect and score you and your sweetheart’s/navigator’s solutions. To use a Google Form you will need a browser on a smartphone\, tablet or laptop computer that can connect to the Internet via Wi-Fi or cellular data. In addition\, you will need a separate smartphone to run the Richta GPS Competitor app. It will use GPS signals to monitor your time and course and to tell you when to stop working on a puzzle and/or when to prepare to do the next route instruction.  \n\n\n\nYou should also participate in the February 11th Zoom Rally School (or watch the recording of it) and visit roadrally.page to help prepare for the rally.  \n\n\n\n\nAwards: First Timers\, Novices (every person in the vehicle has won 2 or less rally trophies)\, and General Class. Optional Master Class – no trophies awarded.\n\n\n\nStart at: Fat Daddy’s Sports & Spirits Café\, 781 Debbie Lane\, Mansfield\, TX\n\n\n\nFinish at: Spring Creek Barbeque\, 1724 U.S. 287 Frontage Rd\, Mansfield\, TX (approximately 0.75 miles east of Fat Daddy’s)\n\n\n\nRegistration/Check-In: 11:15am – noon.\n\n\n\nMandatory Safety Briefing: 12:10pm.\n\n\n\nCar 1 receives the code that will allow them to submit their Google Forms: 12:21pm (Car 2\, 12:22pm\, etc.).\n\n\n\nThere will be at least one rest break at a gas station along the course.\n\n\n\nFirst car should finish at Spring Creek Barbeque around 4:30pm; results to be announced and trophies awarded around 5:30pm.\n\n\n\nVehicles: Sports cars\, family sedans\, pickup trucks\, SUV’s and anything else with 4 wheels that’s street legal (bring something that you will be comfortable in and will have fun driving on back roads and byways\, many of which are oil & chip). Speed is not a factor.\n\n\n\nAt least two people (a driver and a navigator) are required in each car; contact rally@texasscca.org if you have a minor child (<18) in the car\, as a form will need to be signed.\n\n\n\nSCCA membership requirements: at least one SCCA Member required in each car\, either regular/annual Member or Weekend Member; if not currently a Member\, you will be able to become a Weekend Member during online pre-registration\n\n\n\nRally entry fee: regular SCCA Members $28; Weekend Members $40 (includes membership fee). DESCRIPTION:Find Another Opportunity\, the first TSD RoadRally of the 2023 Rally Season for the Southern Indiana Region\, takes place on Sunday\, February 26th\, by Rallymaster Bob Sonntag. \n\n\n\nThe route is all paved. Not all of it nicely paved; but\, it is all paved…except the antique bridge that’s more planked than paved. The route runs from Hardee’s in Evansville through Vanderburgh\, Warrick\, and Spencer counties to get to Turoni’s Pizza in Newburg\, Indiana. \n\n\n\nIf you’re new to TSD (Time/Speed/Distance) rallies\, plan on being at Hardee’s by noon.
