The other member of a non-SCCA team will receive a free SCCA Trial Membership (as will any non-SCCA member of an SCCA team). \n\n\n\nInformation: J. Thomas vonHatten\, Rallymaster\, 314-715-1398\, tom.vonhatten@gmail.com \n\n\n\nGood things to know: As indicated above\, we will use the Competitor – Richta GPS Checkpoint app for timing and scoring. To compete\, each participating team must have a smartphone or tablet with active data cellular service (no airplane mode and no Wi-Fi-only devices) and the Richta Competitor App installed. The app will report your arrival time and leg score to your cellphone or tablet moments after you pass each GPS checkpoint location. To download the app\, search for “Competitor Richta” or “Richta GPS Competitor App”  at Google Play or Apple’s App Store. For more information about the Richta GPS system\, visit https://richtarally.com. \n\n\n\nThe SCCA Detroit Region’s rally page has an excellent summary of the Richta system\, especially its Competitor App. Visit http://drscca.org/rally/using-the-richta-competitor-app. It is worth your time. \n\n\n\nAbout the St. Louis Region\, SCCA: The SCCA’s St. Louis Region\, with some 600 members\, offers Road Racing\, Performance Driving Experience (PDE)\, RallyCross\, RoadRally\, Solo (autocross)\, and Street Survival School programs to educate and provide safe environments for individuals to enjoy their street-legal (daily driver) cars and purpose-built racecars. The Region is home to more than 80 National Champions and has been recognized four times by the Sports Car Club of America as the Region of the Year in its member category. To learn more about the St. Louis Region\, visit www.stlscca.org. \n\n\n\nEvent Requirements\n\n\n\nRules and Waivers: \n\n\n\nThe standard SCCA rules regarding road rallies will be observed. To wit: proof of valid driver’s license and current auto insurance\, vehicle inspection (self-inspection by the rally team)\, and signing of applicable SCCA forms. \n\n\n\nAll participants will be required to read and sign the standard SCCA waiver before being allowed to participate in this event. The signing of the SCCA “Release and Waiver of Liability\, Assumption of Risk and Indemnity Agreement” is a precondition to participating in any SCCA event. Any adult 18 or older must sign the waiver. \n\n\n\nMinor Participants: A Minor taking part in this event must have an Annual Minor Waiver on file with the SCCA for the current calendar year\, i.e.\, 2024. \n\n\n\nThe Age of Majority is 18 except in Alabama and Nebraska\, where it is 19\, and Mississippi\, where it is 21. \n\n\n\nThe Annual Minor Waiver will be issued to the Minor by the SCCA National Office. For more information about this process\, click on the following document and see the section “Minor Annual Waivers”: Digital Annual Waiver 12-01-2021.pdf. \n\n\n\nBefore obtaining an “Annual Waiver Minor” for a child\, non-member parents/guardians\, as well as the Minor in question\, must obtain an SCCA Guest Account. \n\n\n\n1. Log onto scca.com. \n\n\n\n2. Click “Join/Renew” in the information bar at the top of the page. \n\n\n\n3. Click on “Create a Guest Account.” \n\n\n\n4. Click on “I don’t have a Member ID.” \n\n\n\n5. Complete the required information. \n\n\n\nOnce you\, as parents or guardians\, have received your Guest Accounts\, you can begin the process of acquiring an Annual Minor Waiver for your child. See again the document noted above: Digital Annual Waiver 12-01-2021.pdf. \n\n\n\nDo not wait until the last minute to obtain an Annual Minor Waiver for your Minor child/participant. SCCA staff are normally not available after regular business hours or on weekends\, so a last-minute Waiver request cannot be processed before the start of this road rally. Without a valid waiver\, your Minor will not be allowed to participate. \n\n\n\nFinally\, please read carefully: \n\n\n\nIf you are registering for the first time and paying for the event entry\, choose Option 1 on the order form and follow the prompts. \n\n\n\nIf you are registering as a co-entrant and your partner has already registered\, choose Option 2 on the order form. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n Leave a ReplyCancel reply \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n\n This site uses Akismet to reduce spam. SUMMARY:MI: Detroit Region Road Rally School
DESCRIPTION:The Detroit Region SCCA (DRSCCA) is excited to announce the return of Road Rally School! All are welcome regardless of experience level: if you’re interested in Road Rally and unsure where to start\, have competed in some events and want to improve your scores\, or want to try out a new kind of motorsports competition! \n\n\n\nTaught by 2020 Stock Class National Champions Sawyer Stone and Alison Lee\, Rally School will consist of “classroom” portions where you’ll walk through all of the terms\, rally sections\, and how-to of following instructions and keeping time to achieve low scores in Road Rally. In addition\, you’ll put these new skills to the test over two rally sections where you’ll encounter everything you may run into in a Road Rally. Our goal is to give you the skills and confidence to be competitive in DRSCCA Road Rally events. \n\n\n\nWhat You Need: \n\n\n\n\nA Teammate: Road Rally is a team sport! Teams consist of a Driver and a Navigator. No teammate? Let us know; we can pair you up with someone\n\n\n\nA Car: Any road-legal car is allowed. Most of the roads you’ll drive are unpaved backroads around South Lyon\, but ordinary passenger cars will be just fine\n\n\n\nA SmartPhone: Nearly all checkpoints in Road Rallies are set up via GPS. You’ll need the Competitor – Richta GPS Checkpoint app to test out your new skills\n\n\n\nPen\, Paper\, and Calculator: Road Rally has some math and some notes. A basic 4-function or cell phone calculator can do everything you need\, but it should be a phone that won’t be used for the Competitor App.\n\n\n\nLook for the Competitor Richta GPS Checkpoints app on the Google Play Store or Apple App Store or click on the appropriate link:\n\n\n\n\nhttps://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.richta.cpa2&hl=en_UShttps://apps.apple.com/us/app/competitor-richta-checkpoint/id1448298019 Prior to the rally\, all the checkpoint information (locations by Latitude and Longitude and the correct arrival times) is loaded onto the internet by the Rally Master. People who register for the rally are given a car number and the password for the app. Each Rally Team then goes to the site and downloads the information for their car. The contestants will NOT be able to view Rally Master information. During the rally\, when each car reaches a checkpoint\, the contestant’s device will signal a checkpoint has been reached with a “bing-bong” sound. The device will then display your time entered and your score and say “early” or “late.” Your total score for the rally to that point will also be displayed. \n\n\n\nVisit the Richta app information page at http://drscca.org/rally/using-the-richta-competitor-app/ to learn more about how the app works and how to use it. \n\n\n\nWhere: Aubree’s Pizzeria & Grill \n\n\n\nWhen: Saturday\, May 11th\, Class Start 1130A and Finish 530P \n\n\n\nRegistration: \n\n\n\n\n$20 per person\n\n\n\nOnline entries only via MotorsportReg\n\n\n\n+$20 if neither the Driver or the Navigator is an SCCA member\, one of you must purchase a weekend membership ($15 of this may be used as a discount toward a full SCCA membership).\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n Leave a ReplyCancel reply \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n\n This site uses Akismet to reduce spam. SUMMARY:TX: Sweetheart Ride Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:The Texas Region of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) invites you to join us for Jerry White’s annual Valentine’s Day-themed Sweetheart Ride Road Rally. It will be about a 90-mile drive on some of the scenic hard surfaced country roads in Johnson and Ellis Counties. All are welcome and no prior rally experience is necessary. \n\n\n\nThe challenge is to see how many correct puzzle solutions (many with a sweetheart theme) you can find based on signs and objects along the rally route. Puzzles can have from zero (0) to four (4) correct solutions. Think of it as a visual scavenger hunt. Google Forms will be used to display the route instructions and puzzles and to collect and score you and your sweetheart’s/navigator’s solutions. To use a Google Form you will need a browser on a smartphone\, tablet or laptop computer that can connect to the Internet via Wi-Fi or cellular data. In addition\, you will need a separate smartphone to run the Richta GPS Competitor app. It will use GPS signals to monitor your time and course and to tell you when to stop working on a puzzle and/or when to prepare to do the next route instruction.  \n\n\n\nYou should also participate in the February 11th Zoom Rally School (or watch the recording of it) and visit roadrally.page to help prepare for the rally.  \n\n\n\n\nAwards: First Timers\, Novices (every person in the vehicle has won 2 or less rally trophies)\, and General Class. Optional Master Class – no trophies awarded.\n\n\n\nStart at: Fat Daddy’s Sports & Spirits Café\, 781 Debbie Lane\, Mansfield\, TX\n\n\n\nFinish at: Spring Creek Barbeque\, 1724 U.S. 287 Frontage Rd\, Mansfield\, TX (approximately 0.75 miles east of Fat Daddy’s)\n\n\n\nRegistration/Check-In: 11:15am – noon.\n\n\n\nMandatory Safety Briefing: 12:10pm.\n\n\n\nCar 1 receives the code that will allow them to submit their Google Forms: 12:21pm (Car 2\, 12:22pm\, etc.).\n\n\n\nThere will be at least one rest break at a gas station along the course.\n\n\n\nFirst car should finish at Spring Creek Barbeque around 4:30pm; results to be announced and trophies awarded around 5:30pm.\n\n\n\nVehicles: Sports cars\, family sedans\, pickup trucks\, SUV’s and anything else with 4 wheels that’s street legal (bring something that you will be comfortable in and will have fun driving on back roads and byways\, many of which are oil & chip). Speed is not a factor.\n\n\n\nAt least two people (a driver and a navigator) are required in each car; contact rally@texasscca.org if you have a minor child (<18) in the car\, as a form will need to be signed.\n\n\n\nSCCA membership requirements: at least one SCCA Member required in each car\, either regular/annual Member or Weekend Member; if not currently a Member\, you will be able to become a Weekend Member during online pre-registration\n\n\n\nRally entry fee: regular SCCA Members $28; Weekend Members $40 (includes membership fee). You must preregister on MotorsportReg.com.\n\n\n\nContact the Rallymaster Jerry White should you have any questions.\n\n\n\n\nCome on out and discover what game/tour/adventure (GTA) rallying is all about! \n\n\n\nAll entrants must preregister – no same-day registration allowed – and you are advised to preregister as early as possible. Go to MotorsportReg.com: http://msreg.com/SRRR23msr. The Rally Committee reserves the right to limit entries.
