SUMMARY:VT: Buffum's Summer Challenge Rally
DESCRIPTION:The SCCA New England Region’s Summer Challenge Rally will be on Saturday\, May 20th\, out of Randolph\, VT Distance of ~170mi. From Rallymaster John Buffum\, “Not a “trap rally” per se\, but you will have to think on occasion.” Extensive rally knowledge not required.  \n\n\n\nAnd from the website\, where you can find more information about this event: \n\n\n\nMar 13\, 2023: I went out today to start the first survey. I plan routes at home using county type maps and then see how they really look when I drive around; usually 3 to 4 times over the course. \n\n\n\nI have an idea of the ‘difficult instructions’ that I might want to use. It’s actually finding spots on the course to use them. This time you’ll be pleased (or not) to know I found some. ???? \n\n\n\nMar 9\, 2023: Yes\, we will do a Summer Challenge Rally on May 20 starting at Exit 4 of I-89 in Randolph\, Vermont. More info here as time goes on.

SUMMARY:MA: Cape Cod Courageous Old Timers Regional GTA Rally
DESCRIPTION:This SCCA New England Region “scavenger hunt” of Cape Cod is a low-pressure event. You will be supplied with a map and clues to locations all over the Cape.The object is to determine from the clues where these locations are on the map\, plan the shortest route to those locations and\, once at the location\, answer the question(s)\, and do so driving the fewest miles possible. Each two person team chooses its own pace.The distance traveled will be at least 120 miles. Above all it is hoped that you will have FUN and maybe learn some things about the Cape \n\n\n\nStart: The parking lot of the Holiday Inn of Cape Cod.Registration is Friday 3/31 from 7-9 PM and Saturday 4/1 from 7:30 to 9:30 AM in the Barnstable Room for completion of waiver and temporary membership forms as necessary. Saturday morning after check-in and completing your odometer check\, you will receive your map and clues\, at which point you can begin the Rally. \n\n\n\nEntry fee: $50.00 per car for SCCA members and past Old Timers’ Rally participants\, if received by March 24\, 2023.(Note: NO entries the day of the rally). $60.00 per car for non-SCCA members\, non-past participants\, and all late entries. Please allow enough time for us to receive mail entries no later than March 29\, 2022\, as we will not have access to postal mail after that date.  NO entries will be excepted on the day of the Rally. \n\n\n\nBanquet Dinner: Will be held at the Holiday Inn of Cape Cod. We will be enjoying a buffet dinner this year with Chef’s Soup du Jour\, Garden Salad with Two Dressings\, Rolls and Butter New England Baked Scrod or Steak Tips with Peppers & Onions\, Vegetable and Starch\, Assorted Desserts Coffee\, Decaffeinated Coffee and Selected Teas for $35.00/person ~Cash Bar~ \n\n\n\nLodging:Rooms for both Friday and Saturday nights are being held at the Holiday Inn of Cape Cod. The rate is $117 per night (plus taxes) when you mention the “Old Timer’s Rally”. This is a discount off of their normal off season rate. SUMMARY:VT: Winter Challenge RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:The long-awaited Winter Challenge Road Rally\, sanctioned by the SCCA New England Region\, by Rallymaster John Buffum. We encourage you to check the Winter Challenge Road Rally website for more information.   \n\n\n\nThe Winter Challenge Rally weekend\, presented by Vermont SportsCar\, will consist of a single SCCA New England Region rally running from 4 pm Saturday until 1 am Sunday with two breaks. Although no car-breaking roads will be used\, most of the roads chosen are rural\, unpaved roads\, which will undoubtedly be snow and ice-covered.  \n\n\n\nFor 2023\, the anticipated classes may be: \n\n\n\n\nClass A    Calculating equipment may receive direct input from a mileage-measuring device. Typical calculating devices in this Class include Alfa\, Chronar\, Timewise\, and Zeron rally computers.\n\n\n\nClass L    If distance information is acquired only from a mechanical odometer\, it must be manually fed into any calculation device; the distance measuring device must be separate from the calculation device.  (e.g. Curta calculators\, tables\, laptop computers\, electronic APP\, programmable and nonprogrammable electronic calculators. If the distance information is derived solely from GPS signals\, then any electronic APP may be used.\n\n\n\nClass S   Distance information must be visually acquired from the vehicle’s stock\, non-adjustable odometer in the stock location.
