SUMMARY:MA: Cape Cod Courageous Old Timers Regional GTA Rally
DESCRIPTION:This SCCA New England Region “scavenger hunt” of Cape Cod is a low-pressure event. You will be supplied with a map and clues to locations all over the Cape.The object is to determine from the clues where these locations are on the map\, plan the shortest route to those locations and\, once at the location\, answer the question(s)\, and do so driving the fewest miles possible. Each two person team chooses its own pace.The distance traveled will be at least 120 miles. Above all it is hoped that you will have FUN and maybe learn some things about the Cape \n\n\n\nStart: The parking lot of the Holiday Inn of Cape Cod.Registration is Friday 3/31 from 7-9 PM and Saturday 4/1 from 7:30 to 9:30 AM in the Barnstable Room for completion of waiver and temporary membership forms as necessary. Saturday morning after check-in and completing your odometer check\, you will receive your map and clues\, at which point you can begin the Rally. \n\n\n\nEntry fee: $50.00 per car for SCCA members and past Old Timers’ Rally participants\, if received by March 24\, 2023.(Note: NO entries the day of the rally). $60.00 per car for non-SCCA members\, non-past participants\, and all late entries. Please allow enough time for us to receive mail entries no later than March 29\, 2022\, as we will not have access to postal mail after that date.  NO entries will be excepted on the day of the Rally. \n\n\n\nBanquet Dinner: Will be held at the Holiday Inn of Cape Cod. We will be enjoying a buffet dinner this year with Chef’s Soup du Jour\, Garden Salad with Two Dressings\, Rolls and Butter New England Baked Scrod or Steak Tips with Peppers & Onions\, Vegetable and Starch\, Assorted Desserts Coffee\, Decaffeinated Coffee and Selected Teas for $35.00/person ~Cash Bar~ \n\n\n\nLodging:Rooms for both Friday and Saturday nights are being held at the Holiday Inn of Cape Cod. SUMMARY:PA: Choose Your Own Citrus Road Rally\, Part II Revenge of the Stone Fruit
DESCRIPTION:Inspired by the nationally-known (but in no way affiliated) Lemons Rally\, the Choose Your Own Citrus Road Rally\, Part II Revenge of the Stone Fruit is designed to provide an enjoyable drive through the countryside while conducting a Scavenger Hunt. This “Rally” is a social event and is not based on accurate time and distance – in fact\, each team picks their own route to maximize points the way that suits each team the best. Scoring is based on the ability of the team to use clues to find target locations\, while leaving enough time to finding their own way to the finish location in the allotted time frame. Each team will be provided with a packet with rules and instructions on how to post pictures on Instagram to mark way-points and collect points. Someone on your team needs an Instagram account for your team to get points! This is a great opportunity to get younger family members involved in a driving activity. This event will take place rain or shine. Only extreme weather conditions warrant cancellation. \n\n\n\nA Road Rally is not a race! OBEY ALL TRAFFIC LAWS. The roads are challenging\, sharp curves\, steep climbs and wildlife crossings all combined with an unknown route. The driver and navigator must work together to stay alert while looking for clues. Speed does not improve the score. Bring water for the team\, and fuel up when you can there isn’t any sweep car…it’s up to the team to make it back \n\n\n\nEvent requirements\n\n\n\nREGISTRATION \n\n\n\nRegister here for $45. All licensed drivers are welcome to participate! Once registered\, make sure that your name shows up on the entry list to confirm your entry.  Walk-ups will NOT be accepted. An SCCA membership is required for insurance purposes. For all drivers that are not annual SCCA members\, weekend memberships are required and can be purchased during online registration. All passengers that are non-SCCA members will have to sign up for a trial membership at no additional cost. We will have trial membership form on site.  \n\n\n\nEVENT OVERVIEW \n\n\n\nThis is a GTA/Social Road Rally. There are no points towards any championship. \n\n\n\nThere are many variations of Road Rally—this is a “social” rally\, which does not require participants to track time and accurate distance. Instead\, each vehicle has a navigator who will read directions and figure out the best route\, and the driver will follow the instructions. The goal is to drive and find the best route to maximize points. At the end of the rally\, there will be a small award ceremony where winners will be announced. \n\n\n\nThe intention is to have a pleasant Saturday drive\, following the speed limits and all local laws. Enjoy yourself\, enjoy the view and spot some random stuff \n\n\n\nAdditional Notes of Importance: \n\n\n\n\nThe official instructions will be provided at the check-in at on-site registration; you get to determine your own route.\n\n\n\nEach team should have a pencil or pen (and perhaps a clip board) to record stuff and things at this event.\n\n\n\nVehicles will depart the start point at after the driver meeting.\n\n\n\nEach team will need an Instagram account\n\n\n\nThere will be no checkpoints along the route to verify that participants are on the correct route.\n\n\n\nWarning: don’t play follow the leader! Or do\, the other team could be doing something dumb.\n\n\n\nEach car/team will need a mascot that must be included in all photographs/Instagram posts of way-points/checkpoints for scoring purposes\n\n\n\nMascot should be a handheld item to represent the team\n\n\n\nEach team should bring a Hot Wheels or Matchbox car for the judges (it could help your score).\n\n\n\nThis is NOT a race; ALL traffic laws must be followed.\n\n\n\nSpeeding ticket will disqualify you from this event.\n\n\n\n\nREQUIREMENTS \n\n\n\nYou must show your valid driver’s license. If you are not an SCCA member\, a weekend membership form must be completed via MotorsportReg.com for $15. SUMMARY:NY: Doris Bovee Memorial Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:The first event of the day will be the Doris Bovee Memorial Road Rally. This is a Time-Speed-Distance event held on scenic public roads of the Finger Lakes Region\, is a part of the Green Grand Prix day at Watkins Glen International. Drivers and navigators will be scored on their ability to follow a challenging course at precise legal speeds. A 100-mile\, fuel economy event on the 2.45 mile WGI short track will follow in the afternoon. This is essentially the same configuration as the original 1957 track. The rallies are open to nearly all classes of road vehicles. The afternoon fuel economy event will include the Prius Challenge\, with special categories of competition for all generations of Toyota Prius. A class for Exhibition category vehicles will also be included. \n\n\n\nMany hybrids\, plug-in hybrids and full electric vehicles are expected. \n\n\n\nThe Doris Bovee Foundation is one of the Green Grand Prix’s key supporters\, and the morning event is named in the honor of Doris Bovee\, who was a well-known area environmentalist and taught for many years in the Corning-Painted Post (NY) School District. She was known for her love of plants and birds. Ms. Bovee was also involved with SCCA road rallies and was part of the Glen Region Sports Car Club of America at its inception. The rallies are sponsored by the Glen Region Region SCCA and are the only official SCCA road rallies of their kind in the nation. \n\n\n\nOther important supporters of the event are Corning Enterprises of Corning\, NY and the Central New York Clean Cities Coalition based in Rochester\, NY.

The route features the back roads in northwest New Jersey\, the hilly terrain of the Paulinskill River Valley\, and will include a stop for Ice Cream at the world Famous Blairstown Diner featured in the 1980 horror film Friday the 13th.  \n\n\n\nSecond Hands is a “Tour”-type rally with no traps or tricks – drive\, enjoy the great roads and marvelous scenery\, and try to arrive at each checkpoint at precisely the right time. It’s designed especially for people with little or no rally experience. Checkpoints will be along the way to monitor how well you follow the assigned average speeds. Awards are presented to the teams who do the best job of arriving at the checkpoints at the proper times.  \n\n\n\nYou may enter the Divisional event for those wishing to compete for SCCA National RoadRally Championship points. For those looking to enjoy an afternoon of friendly competition\, the Regional event is for you. \n\n\n\nThe Richta GPS Checkpoint app is free to use and will record your arrival time at each checkpoint. You’ll keep this app open while you run the rally\, and it will use the GPS signal from your device to record your arrival time at each checkpoint. SUMMARY:PA: Steel Haul Course Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:A sure sign of Spring is the Steel Haul Course and Tour Rallies sanctioned by the SCCA Steel Cities and Blue Ridge Mountain Sports Car Club; this year\, they take place over April 29-30th. Registration will occur Friday evening\, April 28th\, 6-9:00 PM\, in the Holiday Inn breakfast area. \n\n\n\nChuck Larouere will serve as Rallymaster for the Steel Haul Course Rally\, and Carl Staab will Rallymaster the Steel Haul Tour Rally. The rallies are eligible for the National Championships. \n\n\n\nThe Richta GPS Competitor will be used for scoring\, and all teams must have the App loaded on their smart device (phone or tablet) before Registration. \n\n\n\nRegistration is via paper\, and forms with payment shall be mailed to Registrar Rick Beattie\, 352 Woodside Road\, Pittsburgh\, PA 15221. During onsite Registration Friday evening\, Lois Van Vleet will check entry forms for completeness\, have SCCA Adult Waivers signed by both Driver and Navigator and complete the SCCA Membership and Drivers’ License verification.
