SUMMARY:WI: Roads Scholar National Course Rally
DESCRIPTION:Join your fellow RoadRally enthusiasts for this SCCA Milwaukee Region-sanctioned 180-mile time-speed-distance National Course RoadRally in the beautiful Wisconsin countryside. You and your rally partner will enjoy a scenic adventure through the marvelous country roads west of Madison\, Wisconsin. You’ll be tested on your ability to observe\, reason\, maintain the assigned average speeds\, and follow explicit directions. This year’s Roads Scholar National Course Rally will use both Numbered and Lettered Route Instructions. There will be a variable Main Road rule.  \n\n\n\nIt is not recommended for people who have never rallied before.  \n\n\n\nThere are several miles of unpaved roads on the rally route.  \n\n\n\nThe rally starts in Verona\, Wisconsin (at Hyatt Place) and finishes in Prairie du Chien\, WI (on the Mississippi River). The following day\, June 4th\, the Roads Scamper National Tour Rally starts at the Country Inn & Suites\, Prairie du Chien\, WI\, and runs back to Madison\, WI. \n\n\n\nFor additional rally and lodging information\, click here for our Registration page on Motorsportreg.Friday Headquarters hotel: Hyatt Place\, Wisconsin.  Saturday Headquarters hotel: Country Inn & Suites\, Prairie du Chien\, WI.Sunday night hotel: La Quinta\, Madison\, WI.  (near the airport).  \n\n\n\nRoads Scholar National Course Rally schedule: Check-in – 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday\, in the Lobby Lounge of Hyatt Place\, Verona\, WI.First Car Off – 8:31 AM  SaturdayFirst Car Finished – Approx 5:30 pm – Prairie du Chien\, WI \n\n\n\nCost: $90/car. Any contestant not a full SCCA member (paid annual or lifetime dues)\, must purchase a $15 Weekend Membership. A Weekend Membership is valid for five days\, so one Weekend membership is sufficient for BOTH rallies — Roads Scholar and Roads Scamper. Two Weekend Memberships are required if neither team member is an SCCA member. \n\n\n\nPre-registration is required for this event. Contact the Rallymaster Jim Crittenden.The Roads Scholar National Course Rally will have four Classes\, as determined by the distance measurement and calculating devices used.Class E (Equipped)      There are no restrictions on calculating equipment in this Class. Typical calculating devices in this Class include Alfa\, Chronar\, Timewise\, and Zeron rally computers.Class L (Limited)        All distance information is derived from any of the following: the vehicle’s electronic system\, the vehicle’s speedometer cable\, or pulses generated by the movement of the vehicle (e.g.\, magnets mounted to the drivetrain\, of GPS devices). Calculating devices are limited to those that require manual entry of the distance information (e.g.\, Curta calculators\, tables\, laptop computers\, electronic APPs\, and programmable and non-programmable electronic calculators). Readouts that continuously show the difference from either the perfect time or the perfect distance are prohibited.Class S (Stock)        Any distance information used for timing calculations must be visually acquired from the vehicle’s stock\, non-adjustable odometer in the stock location. Any calculating device may be used as long as the distance information from the vehicle’s stock odometer is manually entered into the device. GPS odometers may be used in this Class only if their information is NOT used for any timing calculations or for any determination of earliness or lateness.Class G (GPS)        All distance information must be derived from a GPS source. Calculating devices may be any electronic device (e.g.\, Simple Rally Computer type APPs and a GPS-Pulser) providing distance input to a Rally computer.

SUMMARY:WI: Roads Scamper 2023 National Tour Rally
DESCRIPTION:Join your fellow RoadRally enthusiasts for this 180-mile time-speed-distance National Tour RoadRally in the beautiful Wisconsin countryside. You and your rally partner will enjoy a scenic adventure through the marvelous country roads from Prairie du Chien to Madison on the north side of the Wisconsin River.   \n\n\n\nThis rally will use the Richta GPS Competitor app. Contestants will download the app to their smartphones in advance of the rally. During the rally\, this app will use the GPS signals and automatically record your arrival time at each checkpoint and then display your score to you!!  No more waiting until the rally is over to find out how you did. A bonus feature of this Richta GPS checkpoint system is that we can provide many more checkpoints and more challenging checkpoint locations. Expect at least 100 checkpoints in this 180-mile rally. Contestants will need a smartphone to run this event. If you plan to run another rally app during the event\, you’ll need to do that on a separate device; the Richta GPS Competitor app needs to be the only app running on your phone during the rally. \n\n\n\nThis is a tour-type rally\, so there are no tricks or traps. There are no unpaved roads on the Roads Scamper National Tour Rally route. \n\n\n\nSchedule: Check-in – 7:30 AM to 8:00 AM Sunday \n\n\n\nFirst Car Off – 8:31 AM  First Car Finished – Approx 3:15 pm at the Dorf Haus Restaurant\, Roxbury\, WI. \n\n\n\nCost: $70/car.
