DESCRIPTION:The SCCA Southern Indiana Region kicks off their rally season on Sunday\, March 8th\, with More Scrambled Legs. The event will start from Hardee’s in Evansville\, and Rallymaster Bob Sonntag encourages you to arrive a little early if this is your first rally or first rally in a long time.; there will be some brief tutoring to make your day more fun!\n\nHere’s the link to information and registration in MSR:  https://msreg.com/2026-RALLY-1. Preregistration is required; there is no onsite registration. Drivers register first and then the Navigator. Please\, do not bring someone who is not registered. Guests should use the SpeedWaiver process during registration.\n\nThe route is all paved. Nearly all of it nicely paved. There’s spot about 40 feet long of “tough winter” and it’s not a problem.\n\nThose with good memories may remember last year’s Scrambled Legs and this second helping is a different take on much of that route.  Oh sure\, there’s a visit to Buente Road\, a touch of Trapp Road\, a little counting of Opps at Ts\, some loops\, and one other little thing to see who will drop shell into their omelet.\n\nAdjustments have been made for the 90s that aren’t “CASTable.”\n\nWith breaks & no mistakes\, the route runs about 97 miles and will take about 3.25 hours to get to Los Bravos on Evansville’s west side.\n\nJoin us and see if\, as a friend put it\, if this rally is all it’s cracked up to be.\n\n\n\n\n

The World Famous Ice Cream Rally\, sanctioned by the SCCA Southern Indiana Region\, takes to the streets on Sunday\, May 18th. \nCheck in at Lic’s Deli and Ice Cream at 1230PM\, an entrant meeting at 1PM-ish\, and the first car departs shortly after the entrant meeting. The rally will use the Richta GPS Checkpoints app\, so you must install it on a smartphone or tablet before you get to the rally. It is available from both the Apple Store and Google Play store. \nPre-event registration is required. DESCRIPTION:Neohio Region\, SCCA invites you to enter the 2025 Ohio Winter Rally (OWR) on February 1! This annual hivernal tour of the Lake Erie “snowbelt” counties of far northeastern Ohio dates back to at least 1966. It was one of the core events of the long-lamented Ohio Rally Championship (ORC) series. \n\n\n\nCompetitors can expect an absolutely straightforward\, gimmick-free Time-Speed-Distance (TSD) road rally\, with an emphasis on precise timing at well-placed controls. Columnar “tulip” style route instructions\, with Official Mileages for all action points (similar to a stage rally routebook)\, will be used. The ~165-mile route will wind through Ohio’s Geauga\, Ashtabula\, and surrounding counties. \n\n\n\nPrevailing road and weather conditions will dictate the rally’s difficulty. Competitors should come prepared to spend extended periods outside in severe winter conditions.  \n\n\n\nTo help teams with limited prior timekeeping experience stay on schedule and to mitigate the possibility of “double jeopardy” penalties from carrying a timing error through multiple controls\, parenthetical perfect cumulative leg times will be provided at all speed change locations. This will be done through the Richta GPS Checkpoints app\, available as a free download for your smart device. \n\n\n\nRegistration and more information are available on motorsportreg.com. DESCRIPTION:This is a Detroit SCCA Regional Rally\, it does not count toward any Road Rally Championships. The classes run in these championships are different\, and this rally is meant to give you a start/improve your start in road rallying or simply have [safe] fun on roads driving. \n\n\n\n\nYou are a car enthusiast. You enjoy driving on unpaved roads. You like the challenge of arriving at each control point on time [or somewhere near on time]. You are a good Driver-Navigator team [or at least you think so]. You want to enjoy the scenery…if you can. Do you want to learn the whole new world of road rally or learn to achieve low scores? Well then\, come participate in this very 1st Top Sun Road Rally of approximately 4.5 hours\, about 110 miles Time-Speed-Distance [TSD] road rally.  \n\n\n\n\nRallymaster Chandra Kogantis has designed this rally for people with little or no road rally experience. Let this not stop you veterans from re-living your past on how you got your start in rallying and sharing your experience with others. This is a “Tour” type rally with no traps or tricks. You and a partner (Driver and Navigator) will be issued a set of Route Instructions that will take you through the country roads in southeast Michigan. There will be two Sections with an hour break between the Sections. Use the break time to discuss with other competitors and get rally veterans’ input. Trophies will be presented to the teams who do the best job of arriving at the checkpoints at the proper times.  \n\n\n\nWe’ll be using the Richta GPS checkpoint system to record your arrival time at each checkpoint.  Once you register\, you’ll receive information on downloading a custom app to your smartphone. You’ll keep this app open while you run the rally and it will use the GPS signal from your device to record your arrival time at each checkpoint. Once you pass a checkpoint\, the app will automatically calculate your score for that checkpoint and display it to you! DESCRIPTION:The Detroit Region SCCA (DRSCCA) is excited to announce the return of Road Rally School! All are welcome regardless of experience level: if you’re interested in Road Rally and unsure where to start\, have competed in some events and want to improve your scores\, or want to try out a new kind of motorsports competition! \n\n\n\nTaught by 2020 Stock Class National Champions Sawyer Stone and Alison Lee\, Rally School will consist of “classroom” portions where you’ll walk through all of the terms\, rally sections\, and how-to of following instructions and keeping time to achieve low scores in Road Rally. In addition\, you’ll put these new skills to the test over two rally sections where you’ll encounter everything you may run into in a Road Rally. Our goal is to give you the skills and confidence to be competitive in DRSCCA Road Rally events. \n\n\n\nWhat You Need: \n\n\n\n\nA Teammate: Road Rally is a team sport! Teams consist of a Driver and a Navigator. No teammate? Let us know; we can pair you up with someone\n\n\n\nA Car: Any road-legal car is allowed. Most of the roads you’ll drive are unpaved backroads around South Lyon\, but ordinary passenger cars will be just fine\n\n\n\nA SmartPhone: Nearly all checkpoints in Road Rallies are set up via GPS. You’ll need the Competitor – Richta GPS Checkpoint app to test out your new skills\n\n\n\nPen\, Paper\, and Calculator: Road Rally has some math and some notes. During the rally\, when each car reaches a checkpoint\, the contestant’s device will signal a checkpoint has been reached with a “bing-bong” sound. DESCRIPTION:We have heard from Piotr Roszczenko requesting to ‘Save the Date’ for the 75th Running of the Press on Regardless Rally. Bruce Fisher will be Rallymaster\, and as of November 17\, 2022\, it is planned to be a Double National Tour Rally.  \n\n\n\nThe event will return to the Hampton Inn\, Gaylord\, MI\, the lodging used for the 2020 POR. A block of rooms has been set aside at $129 per night plus taxes. Ten rooms are reserved\, yet the hotel will add more when those are booked; they will release the rooms on 8/24/2023.  \n\n\n\nMore details to follow.

SUMMARY:IN: Putnam Purple Cow Precision RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:Putnam Purple Cow Precision is a Tour RoadRally designed to be run by individuals attending the SCCA Time Trial event at Putnam Park Road Course the weekend of July 1-2\, 2023. While the goal on track is to go fast\, the goal of a RoadRally is to drive with precision and observation. The course will take participants into Cloverdale and back to Putnam Park while highlighting some of the amenities and unusual sites in the area. The entire course can be driven in less than an hour.  \n\n\n\nThe rally uses Richta GPS Checkpoints\, and participants may run it any time at their convenience from registration on Saturday until mid-afternoon on Sunday\,  If you are joining us for pizza in Cloverdale on Saturday evening\, you can drive the first part of the rally from Putnam Park to Cloverdale on the way and then finish the return trip whenever you would like. \n\n\n\nThe cost of the RoadRally is $25 per car for members. If you are not an SCCA Member but are running the Time Trial Event the same weekend\, then your weekend membership also covers this event. If you are not an SCCA member and have not purchased a weekend membership covering July 1-2\, you must pay a $ 15 Weekend Membership fee at event check-in. \n\n\n\nTo make things interesting\, live scoring for the RoadRally may be viewed with the Richta GPS Competitor system all weekend. If you run the rally and think you could do better\, we will assign you a new car number for a $10 donation to the rally pot\, and you can rerun the event. The event winners will get 50% of the rally pot\, 2nd place will get 30%\, and 3rd place will receive 20%. \n\n\n\nThe only class for this event is Stock. You must use your car’s odometer. A simple calculation device is permitted. The rally is designed so that you can get a good score just by following the directions and maintaining the correct speed between checkpoints. It is designed for those who have not rallied before but is also challenging for experienced rallyists. We promise you will see things you probably have not seen before and be challenged by some good paved roads. There are no unpaved roads on this SCCA Indianapolis Region Putnam Purple Cow Precision Road Rally. \n\n\n\nItems Needed: \n\n\n\n\nStreet legal car\n\n\n\nTwo people in the car (Driver and Navigator)\n\n\n\nPen/pencil/highlighter\n\n\n\nClipboard\n\n\n\nDedicated cell phone or GPS-enabled tablet for the Competitor – Richta GPS Checkpoint App for our checkpoint scoring\n\n\n\nOdometer/GPS or some other way to calculate your mileage\n\n\n\nA calculator might be helpful\n\n\n\n\nEvent Requirements\n\n\n\nThis is an SCCA RoadRally that requires a street-legal vehicle with both a driver and a navigator in the vehicle.  Additional passengers are allowed\, but at least two individuals must be in the vehicle. DESCRIPTION:Son of Sno*Drift Road Rally is intended to be a winter rally. As such\, it is hoped that the challenges of winter driving will be a part of the fun. Son of Sno*Drift is a straightforward Time\, Speed\, Distance (TSD) Road Rally with simple instructions and no traps. NOVICES Welcome! \n\n\n\nRoads used on Son of Sno*Drift will be primarily unpaved and run within Livingston\, Washtenaw and Jackson counties. Total distance will be approximately 175 miles with two breaks. Mileages will be provided with each instruction\, which will be by tulip diagram and written description. \n\n\n\nWith very few exceptions\, this rally will run to the SCCA tour rally rules.
