SUMMARY:MI: Top Sun Regional RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:This is a Detroit SCCA Regional Rally\, it does not count toward any Road Rally Championships. The classes run in these championships are different\, and this rally is meant to give you a start/improve your start in road rallying or simply have [safe] fun on roads driving. \n\n\n\n\nYou are a car enthusiast. You enjoy driving on unpaved roads. You like the challenge of arriving at each control point on time [or somewhere near on time]. You are a good Driver-Navigator team [or at least you think so]. You want to enjoy the scenery…if you can. Do you want to learn the whole new world of road rally or learn to achieve low scores? Well then\, come participate in this very 1st Top Sun Road Rally of approximately 4.5 hours\, about 110 miles Time-Speed-Distance [TSD] road rally.  \n\n\n\n\nRallymaster Chandra Kogantis has designed this rally for people with little or no road rally experience. Let this not stop you veterans from re-living your past on how you got your start in rallying and sharing your experience with others. This is a “Tour” type rally with no traps or tricks. You and a partner (Driver and Navigator) will be issued a set of Route Instructions that will take you through the country roads in southeast Michigan. There will be two Sections with an hour break between the Sections. Use the break time to discuss with other competitors and get rally veterans’ input. Trophies will be presented to the teams who do the best job of arriving at the checkpoints at the proper times.  \n\n\n\nWe’ll be using the Richta GPS checkpoint system to record your arrival time at each checkpoint.  Once you register\, you’ll receive information on downloading a custom app to your smartphone. You’ll keep this app open while you run the rally and it will use the GPS signal from your device to record your arrival time at each checkpoint. Once you pass a checkpoint\, the app will automatically calculate your score for that checkpoint and display it to you! DESCRIPTION:Neohio Region\, SCCA invites you to enter the 2024 Ohio Milk Run Rally (OMR). Competitors can expect an absolutely straightforward\, gimmick-free\, Time-Speed-Distance (TSD) road rally with emphasis on precise timing at well-placed controls. The ~180-mile route will wind through the hills of Ohio’s Wayne\, Holmes\, Coshocton\, Knox\, and surrounding counties. The Milk Run’s name is an homage to a motorcycle enduro in the same area. \n\n\n\nThe rally will count toward both the SCCA Great Lakes Division (GLD) Rally Championship and the SCCA National Touring Rally (NTR) Championship (Divisional Rally). \n\n\n\nThere will be no on-site registration\, and the entry cut-off online will be on Wednesday\, May 15th\, via MotorsportReg.com. You are encouraged to register by close of day on Saturday\, May 11th for a $10 savings. General Instructions and the Competitor – Richta GPS Checkpoints app password will be distributed at the close of registration. All are welcome regardless of experience level: if you’re interested in Road Rally and unsure where to start\, have competed in some events and want to improve your scores\, or want to try out a new kind of motorsports competition! \n\n\n\nTaught by 2020 Stock Class National Champions Sawyer Stone and Alison Lee\, Rally School will consist of “classroom” portions where you’ll walk through all of the terms\, rally sections\, and how-to of following instructions and keeping time to achieve low scores in Road Rally. In addition\, you’ll put these new skills to the test over two rally sections where you’ll encounter everything you may run into in a Road Rally. Our goal is to give you the skills and confidence to be competitive in DRSCCA Road Rally events. \n\n\n\nWhat You Need: \n\n\n\n\nA Teammate: Road Rally is a team sport! Teams consist of a Driver and a Navigator. No teammate? Let us know; we can pair you up with someone\n\n\n\nA Car: Any road-legal car is allowed. Most of the roads you’ll drive are unpaved backroads around South Lyon\, but ordinary passenger cars will be just fine\n\n\n\nA SmartPhone: Nearly all checkpoints in Road Rallies are set up via GPS. You’ll need the Competitor – Richta GPS Checkpoint app to test out your new skills\n\n\n\nPen\, Paper\, and Calculator: Road Rally has some math and some notes. The contestants will NOT be able to view Rally Master information. During the rally\, when each car reaches a checkpoint\, the contestant’s device will signal a checkpoint has been reached with a “bing-bong” sound. DESCRIPTION:The Detroit Region presents their Annual Road Rally School on Saturday\, March 24th\, 2018!\nA road rally is traversed over public roads within the legal speed limit. The challenge is to drive on time\, arriving at points along the route neither early nor late (it’s NOT a race). A Driver and Navigator team matches wits with the Rallymaster to follow the route and stay on time. This School will teach you the basics of how to compete in a time-speed-distance (TSD) road rally. DESCRIPTION:Son of Sno*Drift Road Rally is intended to be a winter rally. As such\, it is hoped that the challenges of winter driving will be a part of the fun. Son of Sno*Drift is a straightforward Time\, Speed\, Distance (TSD) Road Rally with simple instructions and no traps. NOVICES Welcome! \n\n\n\nRoads used on Son of Sno*Drift will be primarily unpaved and run within Livingston\, Washtenaw and Jackson counties. Total distance will be approximately 175 miles with two breaks. Mileages will be provided with each instruction\, which will be by tulip diagram and written description. \n\n\n\nWith very few exceptions\, this rally will run to the SCCA tour rally rules.
