SUMMARY:CA: Cal Club First Friday Niter Social Roadrally
DESCRIPTION:The First Friday Niter Road Rally\, a five-decade tradition\, is sanctioned by the SCCA\, Cal Club Region\, and the Santa Monica Sports Car Club!   \n\n\n\nJoin us for August First Friday Niter on August 2nd for another Tour Rally in the Citrus Blossom Series presented by Santa Monica Sports Car Club. Rallymaster Rachel Smith has written this rally using some of her favorite roads\, which she says are “all about the view.” The rally will head West along SR 126\, but won’t quite go into Ventura County this time. After a few miles in the local hills\, the rally heads back into Santa Clarita\, ending at Toppers Pizza\, 23710 Valencia Blvd\, Santa Clarita (corner of Valencia and Magic Mtn). Come on out and help us celebrate the club’s 64th Anniversary! \n\n\n\nThis rally uses the Competitor—Richta GPS Checkpoints app for timing and scoring\, with timing in tenths of seconds. The maximum penalty this month is 120 seconds (2 minutes) per checkpoint. The app is FREE and easy to use on any GPS-enabled smartphone. Go to the App Store or Google Play Store\, or https://richtarally.com/ to download. There is no need for additional timing equipment or clocks – your Official Time shows in the app!  \n\n\n\n Also\, if you want to see all the scores at the Finish\, download the FREE Richta Scoreboard app. \n\n\n\nPlease try to register online at MotorSportReg at msreg.com/FFN082024. If that doesn’t work for you\, you can still register in person at the start. We start in the rear lot at the Bank of America in Mission Hills.  In-person registration opens at 7:00 pm\, with the first car out at 8:01 pm; there is a beginner/Richta meeting at 7:40 pm. \n\n\n\nIs your usual rally partner not available for this FFN? SUMMARY:OR: CSCC Saturday Rally Series - August 17
DESCRIPTION:The Cascade Sports Car Club wraps up its Saturday Summer Series\, a season of six events\, on Saturday\, August 17th. Their Road Rally program (aka Cascade Geargrinders) offers beginner-friendly time-speed-distance road rallies lasting three to four hours and starting and ending in the Portland area. Road rally is a game you play while going for a drive in the country. Play the game that takes you places. Season Flyer. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSchedule:Friday\, August 16     Q&A Zoom meeting: 7 PMSaturday\, August 17     First team starts: 10:01 AM      First team arrives at the finish (approx.): 1:30 PM      Winners are announced\, and prizes are awarded soon after the last team finishes     Results emailed: Saturday evening or Sunday  Entry fee:      $25 per team for CSCC members (either driver or navigator is a Cascade member)     $35 per team for non-members  Entry requires a street-legal vehicle\, a licensed and insured driver\, a navigator\, and a smart device (e.g.\, cell phone or tablet) running the Competitor – Richta GPS Checkpoints app (free app). \n\n\n\nThese events are conducted in accordance with Cascade Sports Car Club’s Road Rally Rules. \n\n\n\nOnline registration is required\, and electronic waivers are signed on Motorsportreg.com. Day-of-event on-site registration is not available. \n\n\n\nAll communication about the rally occurs via email.
