SUMMARY:AZ: 35th Annual Copperstate 1000
DESCRIPTION:The 35th annual Bell Lexus North Scottsdale Copperstate 1000\, presented by the Men’s Arts Council\, returns to Arizona\, April 5-9\, 2025. It is one of North America’s most celebrated vintage car road rallies\, showcasing some of the finest working examples of vintage\, sports\, racing\, classic\, and grand touring automobiles manufactured before the 1974 model year. \n“Each year\, we see some of the world’s most unique cars take part in this exciting event\,” said\nScott McPherson\, Copperstate 1000 Chairman and Men’s Art Council member. “We’re thrilled to continue this tradition in 2025\, bringing together car enthusiasts and participants of all ages in our community. We invite everyone to join us on Sunday\, April 6\, to admire the incredible cars\, chat with the drivers\, and cheer them off on the Rally.” \nThe public and fans of all ages can view the cars participating in the Copperstate 1000 before they depart for their journey at the Copperstate send-off event. It will take place at Tempe Diablo Stadium on Sunday\, April 6\, beginning at 7:30 AM\, where the vehicles are lined up around the outfield and announced as they begin to depart at 10:00 AM. \nThere will also be a local car show in the West lot of the stadium from 7:30 to 11:30 AM. Local car enthusiasts are encouraged to bring their cars for display in the West lot. Coffee and donuts will also be available in the West parking lot. \nIn honor of the 35th anniversary\, the 2025 Copperstate 1000 will add thrilling new routes\, taking drivers through diverse landscapes to discover hidden scenic gems that enhance the journey already known for crossing beautiful desert terrains\, river verdant valley\, and alpine landscapes across Arizona and beyond. \nThis year\, 80 vintage automobiles journeyed\, with drivers and navigators from the United States\, Canada\, Mexico\, and Europe. The connections created at these rallies often blossom into lifetime friendships\, and many attendees return year after year. The lineup of cars included 19 Porsches\, 15 Ferraris\, 12 Jaguars\, 4 Aston Martins\, and various American muscle cars. The lightest car is a 1965 Griffith that weighs only 1800 pounds\, in contrast to the oldest car\, a 1929 Bentley that has long-term ownership and weighs 4800 pounds. \n“The Copperstate 1000 is one of the most unique events in town\,” said Bell Lexus North Scottsdale. “The route is always different\, and the Men’s Art Council puts a lot of time and effort into making this one of the best car events in the country. It’s fun to network\, mingle\, and meet new friends along the way.” \nBell Lexus North Scottsdale has been the title sponsor of the Copperstate 1000 for over 20 years and plays an intricate role in the rally’s success. The luxury car dealer lends the special event five brand new vehicles in the event that a rally car is not able to finish. \n“This is the biggest and best free-to-attend car show in the state\,” added McPherson. \nAt Road Rally eNews\, we love this video produced from the 2017 COPPERSTATE 1000! \n2017 COPPERSTATE 1000

SUMMARY:MA: Rally Against Leukemia
DESCRIPTION:The Rally Against Leukemia 2024 is a Game-Tour-Adventure (GTA) Rally sanctioned by the SCCA New England Region. After a short odometer check\, contestants will receive maps of the Springfield and Central Massachusetts regions of Massachusetts and a list of questions. The objective is to answer as many questions as possible in the least amount of miles. \n\n\n\nAll proceeds from this event will be donated to the UMASS Medical Center to aid their Leukemia research.  Contestants are encouraged to collect additional donations from friends and family. The team that collects and turns in the most donations will receive a special award. \n\n\n\nBecause this is a charity event meant for fun rather than serious competition\, the only limitation to the number of occupants in a vehicle is that the total number of occupants per vehicle cannot exceed the number of seat belts available. Appropriate waivers must be completed and signed at registration for all occupants. For teams with more than two adults (over age 18)\, it is suggested that\, in the spirit of the charity nature of the event\, an additional monetary donation be made for each additional adult at registration. \n\n\n\nStart/Finish: Palmer Motorsports Park\, Palmer\, MA. Sign the SCCA Waiver with the rally crew at the track’s Main Entrance sign then go to the Track Registration building to sign the Track Waiver and receive a wristband credential. \n\n\n\nSchedule of Events (subject to change) \n\n\n\nSaturday\, September 14\, 2024 \n\n\n\n            8:30 am – 10:00 am                 Registration/Odometer Check \n\n\n\n            2:30 p.m.                                 Finish location opens \n\n\n\n            4:00 p.m.                                 All contestants due in at the finish \n\n\n\nGeneral Instructions: TBD \n\n\n\nMore information and to register\, head to MotorsportReg. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n Leave a ReplyCancel reply \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n\n This site uses Akismet to reduce spam. SUMMARY:PA: New Hope Auto Show Every Car Road Rally

Many people come year after year to compete for trophies and enjoy the challenges of our scavenger hunt. \n\n\n\nCars of all kinds are welcome to participate. Of course\, being The New Hope Automobile Show\, we encourage people to bring their classic cars\, but your everyday car will work just fine. The cost is $60 per car. \n\n\n\nThis year\, we have a very special Road Rally. After you’ve answered all the clues along the route\, you’ll find yourself in one of Bucks County’s most beautiful parks. We invite you to pack a picnic lunch before leaving home. There will not be any places along the route to purchase lunch. You may not bring alcohol into the park. It’s the law. At the park\, there will be a pavilion where you can sit to eat\, or bring a blanket or lawn chairs and spread out on the ground. \n\n\n\nWelcome SCCAThis year\, we’re again teaming up with the Philadelphia Region of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA). Their support for our event assures us that it is safe and allows us to continue our road rally for years to come. \n\n\n\nGet a head start.A crucial part of this collaboration with the SCCA will be requiring all participants to complete a temporary SCCA membership form\, which all drivers and navigators must complete before they can drive in the rally. The forms are provided here\, so you can download them\, fill them out\, sign them\, and bring them with you on the morning of the rally. This will allow us to get the rally going on time. \n\n\n\nFor more information and Registration\, click here! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n Leave a ReplyCancel reply \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n\n This site uses Akismet to reduce spam. SUMMARY:CA: Ron Dunlop Memorial Charity Cruise
DESCRIPTION:The object of Ron Dunlop Memorial Charity Cruise is to enjoy driving sweeping\, beautiful\, challenging\, paved back roads at legal speeds while raising money for one of our favorite charities. All net proceeds (over $20 per car) will be donated to the Loma Linda University Medical Center\, the group that took such good care of Ron. There is no need for advanced math and no riddles\, compasses\, maps\, or gimmicks. We will rain or shine on May 18\, 2024. \n\n\n\nThis is an SCCA Cal Club-sanctioned Regional “Trek” format cruise event sponsored by the Into the Night Rally Team. It’s a non-competitive\, untimed driving event. You can run alone or with as many passengers as your vehicle has working seat belts. \n\n\n\nThe “Trek” format is a “follow-the-leader” type cruise event. There will be a lead car\, and we’ll all basically just stay in the queue behind them. Just follow the car in front of you and enjoy the roads. We will hand out a brief\, written course description at the Start to help you stay with the route if you decide to stop or whatever. You can stop anywhere for any reason: a break\, sightseeing\, photos\, etc. \n\n\n\nRegarding photos\, this event will go through the heart of the southern California wildflower area. With the rains we’ve been having\, it should be a super bloom and should still be going strong on rally day. We have found an especially scenic spot on the course in this area\, and we will have a professional photographer there to get some high-res pictures of you and your car surrounded by the wildflowers. We’ll then send each of you your photos after the event! \n\n\n\nThis event has been designed to be extremely EV-friendly. Charging stations are near both the Start and Finish. \n\n\n\nPlease register online at MotorsportsReg.com. Registration is $30 per car. All net proceeds (over $20 per car) will be donated to the Loma Linda University Medical Center\, the group that took such good care of Ron. (NOTE: If the “register now” button doesn’t work\, please reload this page and try again.) \n\n\n\nYou may still register in person at the Start. (Sorry\, but we cannot accept credit cards at Registration. Please use the MSR website to pay by credit card.)   \n\n\n\nRegistration opens at 10 AM\, but feel free to come earlier. Dink’s Deli makes its bagels on-site daily\, and they are mighty good. There’s also a Starbucks and a Jamba Juice literally next door. Come early for some socializing\, tall tales\, and tire-kicking. The finish will be at the Black Bear Diner in Palmdale. \n\n\n\nThis driving portion of the event lasts about 2 hours and covers about 90 miles of our favorite roads. The Cruisemaster is Paul McGaffey. \n\n\n\nMore Info can be found at www.itnrally.org and on the Ron Dunlop Memorial Charity Cruise Facebook page at Log in or sign up to view. For any questions or more detailed information\, contact Paul at selmer6@gmail.com\, or call or text 310 350 1360. \n\n\n\nRReNews Note: Ron Dunlop\, for whom this Memorial Cruise is in honor\, has a lovely Last Checkpoint tribute written for him by Paul in 2022. You may view it here. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n Leave a ReplyCancel reply \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n\n This site uses Akismet to reduce spam. SUMMARY:WI: Spring Scamper RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:Milwaukee Region SCCA will host the 2024 Spring Scamper car rally on Sunday\, April 7th. You’re invited to join us for this new 100+ mile\, 4+ hour rally around Madison\, WI. No prior rally experience is necessary\, and any type of street-legal car is welcome. You do not have to be a member of SCCA to participate. \n\n\n\nRallymaster Jim Crittenden has designed a rally course that will take you on a scenic tour of the country roads south of Madison. This is not a race; it’s a game of precision driving where you’ll be challenged to arrive at each checkpoint at exactly the right time. Penalty points are assigned for being too fast or too slow. Trophies will be awarded to the teams with the best performances. There are no unpaved roads on the course.   \n\n\n\nYou’ll need a rally partner (Driver and Navigator) and a smartphone. The entry fee is $20 per person; two people are required in each car. Pre-registration is required; no walk-ins on the day of the event. This is a charity fundraiser for the Dane County Humane Society. This organization finds ‘furever’ homes for thousands of animals every year as well as providing emergency animal care for a variety of animals\, including dogs\, cats\, birds\, and other wildlife. Your entry fee will help support their efforts. Click here for more information about DCHS. \n\n\n\nWe’ll be using the Competitor—Richta GPS Checkpoint app system. The Richta GPS Checkpoint app will run on your smartphone\, record your arrival time at each checkpoint\, and then report your leg score immediately to you. No more waiting until the rally is over to see your score! You will need to bring a smartphone to run this rally. \n\n\n\nClasses for Spring Scamper: \n\n\n\n1st Timer – No one in the car has run a road rally before. No math or timing calculations allowed. \n\n\n\nSOP (Seat Of the Pants) – No math or timing calculations allowed. No apps that continually report how early or late you are. Use speedometer to judge speed. \n\n\n\nCalculating – May use a device or an app to calculate earliness or lateness\, but rally computers are not allowed. Cars using Rabbit Rally app or Richta Simple Rally Computer app must run in Calculating Class. \n\n\n\nRally check-in opens at 10:30 AM. 1st car starts at 12:01 PM. \n\n\n\n1st car finishes at 4:30 PM at the Stone Porch Ale House\, Verona\, WI. \n\n\n\nGrab a partner and that car you love to drive and come celebrate Spring with us on Sunday\, April 7th\, in Madison. Online registration is now open at msreg.com/scamper2024. Pre-registration is required. A flyer with further details is attached.  We look forward to seeing you. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n Leave a ReplyCancel reply \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n\n This site uses Akismet to reduce spam. Your ability to follow the course correctly and identify the scenes depicted in the photo clues determines your score. \n\n\n\nNo hard-to-see or tricky questions to answer. \n\n\n\nThe entry fee is a new stuffed animal or unwrapped toy of $35.00 or greater. While stuffed animals will be accepted in 2022\, unwrapped toys are preferred.

SUMMARY:PA: Catch 22 - Puzzles and Conundrums
DESCRIPTION:Update October 20th — Fifty-six teams and two buses puzzled their way through some of Adams County most beautiful roads on Saturday\, October 15. A great time was had by all as we drove past 19 preserved properties over 48 miles\, and competed and learned at three fun-filled stops. The Land Conservancy of Adams County has already set Saturday\, October 21st\, 2023 for their 25th Anniversary edition next year.  \n\n\n\n√. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEach year the Land Conservancy of Adams County organizes a Road Rally over lesser-traveled routes in the region. This year\, the 24th Annual Land Conservancy Fall Classic Road Rally\, features a meandering drive through rural Adams County\, highlighting vistas and scenic roads that showcase our beautiful countryside. \n\n\n\nOn October 15\, Road Rally teams will be delighted and confused as they meander through Adams County on roads less traveled. Teams will be challenged with paradoxical situations with no apparent way out. It’s a logical conundrum where circumstances feed each other and bring you back to square 1. \n\n\n\nWhat came first the chicken or the egg? \n\n\n\n Catch 22 – Puzzles and Conundrums is a fundraiser for LCAC that often leaves participants amazed and with a newfound appreciation for the landscape around us.
