SUMMARY:OR: Monte Shelton Northwest Classic Rally XXVIII
DESCRIPTION:The Alfa Romeo Owners of Oregon invites you to participate in the Northwest Classic Rally. Each year the Northwest Classic Rally visits a wonderful resort where we end Friday’s and Saturday’s rallying and touring with social activities including optional car washing\, general tire-kicking\, and banquet dinners\, and we conclude the event on Sunday morning with the Awards Brunch. Our 2016 destination is The Oregon Garden Resort. \n\n\n\nThere are four great ways: \n\n\n\nRALLY — The Northwest Classic Rally is a classic time-speed-distance road rally\, and competitors may register for either of two classes: Standard or Vintage. The allowed equipment for each class is defined in the 2015 General Instructions\, but basically\, the Standard Class allows the use of the car’s original speedometer and odometer\, clocks and watches\, slide rules\, and single-memory\, non-programmable calculators. The Vintage Class allows only the original speedometer and odometer\, plus clocks and watches. \n\n\n\nCars Eligible for the Rally A key element of this event is the enjoyment of older vehicles. The sights\, sounds\, and smells of classic or vintage vehicles form essential aspects of the event. Therefore\, cars participating in the competitive rally must be sports sedans\, sports cars\, and other special interest vehicles manufactured before 1981. (Exceptions for cars manufactured after 1980 may be made by the organizers\, in advance only\, for cars that are not substantially different from cars of the same marque and model made in 1980. If the car you wish to enter requires an exception\, contact the organizers by June 30 for a determination of acceptability.) \n\n\n\nTOUR — Competitive rallying is not for everyone\, but the Northwest Classic Rally is! If you would like to participate without the route-following challenges and the calculations necessary to remain “on time\,” we offer the option to register for a tour only. The tour is conducted in a follow-the-leader format\, generally following the rally route and sharing the same great roads\, great scenery\, and great food of the competitive rally. To register for the tour\, please check the Tour box in the YOUR CAR section of the Registration Form. \n\n\n\nCars Eligible for the Tour Any car may be entered in the Tour\, and we encourage you to get your favorite car of any vintage on the road in the Tour. This is also an excellent option for those still shopping for a rally-qualifying car\, or for those whose rally-qualifying car is under restoration or repair. \n\n\n\nVOLUNTEER — Another great way to participate is by volunteering.  We have a wide variety of requirements for volunteers ranging from Thursday set-up\, checkpoint workers\, and food and beverage coordinators. Please get in touch with the Volunteer Coordinator for a list of available positions. Volunteers pay no registration fee\, and they enjoy complimentary meals throughout their volunteer duties. \n\n\n\nSPONSOR — Yet another great way to participate is via sponsorship. We offer three levels of support ranging from $1\,000 to $300. In-kind sponsorships and product donations are also considered. Please get in touch with the Sponsor Coordinator for a Sponsorship Schedule and to discuss the possibilities. \n\n\n\nhttp://montesheltonnorthwestclassicrally.org/registration.html

SUMMARY:AZ: 28th Annual Copperstate 1000
DESCRIPTION:The Copperstate 1000 is one of the premier vintage car road rallies in North America. The Men’s Arts Council (MAC) created the event in 1990 as a fundraiser for Phoenix Art Museum\, and this event continues to set the benchmark for excellence. The finest vintage automobiles in the world have graced the scenic highways of Arizona during this annual four-day event.\nThis annual event celebrates the automotive cultural legacy by featuring some of the finest working examples of vintage\, sports\, racing\, classic\, and grand touring automobiles manufactured before the 1974 model year. \nEach year\, a new route covers 1\,000 miles of beautiful desert terrain\, verdant river valley\, and alpine landscape throughout Arizona and beyond. Approximately 80 qualifying vintage automobiles with drivers and co-drivers from all over the United States\, Canada\, Mexico\, and Europe. The relationships that are made during these rallies often develop into lifelong friendships. Many participants return year after year. \nThe collector car hobby continues to thrive into a lifestyle as more collectors are driving and enjoying their vintage automobiles. The Bell Lexus North Scottsdale Copperstate 1000 epitomizes such a lifestyle event. It allows participants to enjoy four fully catered days of glorious driving with fellow enthusiasts while having only the sheer exhilaration of the open road to contend with as all the details have been handled by our more than capable staff – from luxury accommodations to fully catered meals\, parking lot hospitality parties and a U-Haul sponsored luggage truck\, the MAC crew thinks of everything. Copperstate’s team of mechanics and professional tow drivers is also on hand to provide any roadside assistance. \nCheck out this video from the 2017 COPPERSTATE 1000: \n2017 COPPERSTATE 1000

We absolutely will not be able to exceed the limit of entrants. \n\n\n\nThis charity road rally will take you through some amazing back roads in Montgomery and Berks Counties to help you scratch that driving itch that builds up during the offseason. SUMMARY:IL: The Christmas Light Tour Rallye
DESCRIPTION:Do you know where the best Christmas decorations are in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago? We do! And we show them annually at The Christmas Light Tour Rallye\, a benefit for the USMC Toys for Tots. There will be two courses this year: West – Schaumburg\, and East – Lincolnwood. \n\n\n\nWhen? You can run this year’s The Christmas Light Tour Rallye at any time from the 12th of December until Christmas Day. Many teams will choose to run when there is a group on the night of December 12th\, yet you can participate when you please. \n\n\n\nSpectacular Houses! This event has\, in the past\, shown the most spectacular houses in the Schaumburg\, Hoffman Estates\, Elk Grove\, and Arlington Heights areas. We have more for you this year\, too\, as we have a second Tour you can run on the Eastern front to take in Lincolnwood\, Sauganash\, and Edgebrook. \n\n\n\nSpecial Entry Fee for The Christmas Light Tour Rallye! Because it is a Charity Rally to benefit the USMC Toys for Tots\, the entry cost is $20 per vehicle. Should you have a toy to donate\, we will graciously accept it during the Saturday\, December 12th run. It is not necessary\, but it is fun to give a toy to the cause! \n\n\n\nCOVID-19 Precautions: The plan is to end at Garibaldi’s Italian Eatery\, yet of course\, because of the pandemic\, we don’t know what the endpoint situation will be. Yet you can still go out and enjoy the decorated homes. \n\n\n\nRegistration: You must Pre-Register! Last year we had over 400 total entries and 170 entries running the night of the event. We can’t possibly handle that number of vehicles again as competitors\, yet you can join as a non-competitor and still run the event. We’ll send all materials to you by the 12th of December\, and you can run it any day or night you wish. It’s fun\, fresh\, and a great activity with family\, friends\, and cohorts! Get ready to put on those sunglasses and be blinded by the lights you will see along the route. Spectacular lights and amazing displays await. \n\n\n\nhttp://www.wheelsrallyeteam.com/christmas-light-tour/

SUMMARY:NC: Cedar Mountain Rotary Fundraiser Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:The Cedar Mountain Rotary is planning their Inaugural Road Rally for Saturday\, Oct. 9\, as part of a fundraiser for Rise & Shine.  \n\n\n\nThe objective of the rally is for a team of two\, a driver and a navigator\, to use a set of clues to reach designated points of interest in Transylvania County and Pickens County. The date was selected to take advantage of the scenic beauty of the area in the fall season. Those taking part will be asked to answer questions in the clues and take pictures of the designated points to score “points.” It is much like a scavenger hunt but on wheels.  \n\n\n\nThe starting and ending points will be at Oskar Blues Brewery\, with rally teams being sent out in two directions over the same course. We will award the teams with the most points prizes at the end. We will be using a “Rotary” themed bag to hold a lunch for the team and any handouts from sponsors and the charitable recipient\, Rise & Shine. \n\n\n\nFor more information\, contact Cathy or Len Haupert at (607) 280-0889 or (828) 885-7582 or via email at Cathy.haupert@ gmail.com.

SUMMARY:Texas Region Sasha's Children's Book Run Rally
DESCRIPTION:Let’s close out the Rally season supporting a good cause while honoring Sasha Lanz! The Texas Region of the Sports Car Club of America would like to cordially invite all fellow car enthusiasts to this Trek rally benefiting the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. No prior rally experience is necessary. \n\n\n\nA bit of history: Sasha Lanz was instrumental in building a successful RoadRally program in the SCCA Texas Region and leading it for many years. Sadly\, Sasha passed away earlier this year. One of his favorite events was the Children’s Book Run. Entrants were asked to donate 2 children’s books\, which were gathered at check-in on Rally Day. Over the course of the five years that we held the rally\, hundreds of books were donate to Sottish Rite!  We would like to keep this tradition alive and conduct a Children’s Book Run in his name every year.    \n\n\n\nThis year we plan to conduct the event as a Trek. This is a rally format recently added to the SCCA RoadRally event mix. A Trek is a non-competitive driving event on scenic country roads.
