SUMMARY:TX: Historic Tour of San Antonio Social RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:San Antonio has had more battles fought within its city limits than any other town in North America. These battles occurred while San Antonio was under the jurisdiction of Spain\, the Republic of Mexico\, the Republic of Texas\, and the United States. This Road Rally will take you to the approximate location of each site; however\, the exact location of some of the sites is not known\, and other sites ranged over several miles. If you want a more detailed investigation of any site\, you are encouraged to revisit site(s) on your own and at your convenience. The oldest two sites date from 1813\, and the latest site dates from the 1870s. \n\n\n\nThis is a non-speed social Road Rally whose route will be along city streets\, and speed bumps may be an issue for some cars. We will start on the west side of San Antonio\, proceed to the far south side\, and then complete our tour just north of downtown. It should take between 90 minutes and two hours for this Road Rally as you learn about the history of San Antonio.  Questions will be asked along the way\, but awards will not be based on questions or a car’s finish position. This Road Rally is meant to be a fun social outing and learning event. DESCRIPTION:The First Friday Niter Series has a long history with the Santa Monica Sports Car Club\, a Chapter of the SCCA California Sports Car Club. The Rallymaster for the July event will be Jeanne English. \n\n\n\nRegistration opens at 7 PM\, with a Beginner/Richta App meeting at 740 PM. The first car is out at 801 PM. The entry is $25\, with a $10 discount if either the Driver or Navigator is an SCCA Member. Should you run the FFNs regularly\, this becomes an excellent reason to join the SCCA and other discounts available from National. \n\n\n\nWe are still practicing COVID-19 restrictions – primarily wearing masks and social distancing. We continue to use the Richta Competitor GPS app for checkpoints\, so no manned checkpoints or control cards to pass in and out of the car; there’s a new version\, 1.20\, that should automatically update on your phone when you log in. Each checkpoint sign will be clearly shown in the instructions\, so no guesswork will be needed.

To clarify\, the start is at the Park and Ride next to Exit 4  near Randolph\, Vermont. The TECH FORM is also posted – you need to fill this out and bring it with you to get your Route Information. You need to have printed the Generals and Richta info as there will be none given out at Registration. \n\n\n\nJune 8\, 2021: A NEW SAMPLE MAP is posted. The original one left off the important scale. Also\, a new entry list. \n\n\n\nJune 6\, 2021: A new Entry List is posted. \n\n\n\nJune 4\, 2021: The General Instructions\, a Sample Timecard\, and Richta control info are all posted. We have 14 entries\, and a new Entry list will be posted within the week. If you have any questions\, don’t be afraid to email me. \n\n\n\nMay 25\, 2021: The Sample Routes and Info are posted.  No new entries – now’s the time :). \n\n\n\nMay 17\, 2021: The first Entry List is posted. \n\n\n\nMay 10\, 2021: Now that I’ve done an event as a competitor\, I have more insight into what happens during an event. Although it’s not necessary to score well\, it’s nice to actually see the timing point (I never saw any at Seacoast). Now that we have to stay on time – all the time – you need to have a free zone after every “Stop’ (where there isn’t a pause) to avoid speeding after the “Stop.” For a reason I’m not sure about\, the scores are better than in the past; thus\, mileages at the Start of a Leg and Timing CP’s should be accurate to the thousandth of a mile – OR – competitors need to be told that the mileage ‘rolls over’ from whatever happened to be shown on the hundredth-reading odometer at the CP. Example: At the start of an event\, you understand that the start mileage is 0.00(0) – not 0.00(4\, or something); the mileage is understood to be “0” in the thousandth place. At Timing CP’s\, a Rallymaster could decide -and tell competitors – that whatever his odo showed to the CP (in hundredths) is what the next leg starts at. \n\n\n\nApril 28\, 2021: The ENTRY INFO is posted. I’ll be putting up more info here as we go along. \n\n\n\nApril 22\, 2021: I’ve been out on the course a couple of times. It’s a nice new area – South and East of Randolph. There’s a few really good stretches of twisty roads over the Vermont hills. It’s also a nice change from the Winter Challenge (and the Seacoast Scramble) – it’s during the day so you can see the countryside – and maybe see the control locations :)! The Entry info will be up on this site next week. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMarch 15\, 2021:  I’ve picked a date for the SUMMER CHALLENGE RALLY – JUNE 19. It will start again like last year – at Exit 4 of I 89 in Randolph\, VT.;  10 am to 5 pm\, running south and east to White River Jct and then back.   More info will be available on this website as we go along; perhaps Entry info on May 1.

DESCRIPTION:This is a Time Speed Distance (TSD) Course Rally. It will require the use of some logic and observational skills to follow the correct route. Because each leg of the rally will have an On Course route and an Off Course route\, you will need to use the Main Road Determinants given in the General Instructions to know which way the Main Road goes at each intersection. DESCRIPTION:Cascade Sports Car Club’s Saturday Road Rally Series offers beginner-friendly time-speed-distance road rallies\, lasting from three to four hours\, starting and ending in the Portland area. \n\n\n\nThe June 12th road rally begins at Milwaukie Lowe’s and ends at the Helvetia Tavern near Hillsboro. Torm Kelsey-Green and Kasey Klaus are your Rallymasters. \n\n\n\nEntry fee: $20 per car for CSCC members (either Driver or Navigator is a CSCC member)$30 per car for non-members   \n\n\n\nSchedule: June 12thFirst car out: 10:01 am First car arrives at the finish (approx.): 1:30 pm Results emailed: after all cars finish  Entry requires a street-legal vehicle\, a licensed and insured driver\, a navigator\, and a smart device (e.g.\, cell phone or tablet) running the Competitor Richta GPS Checkpoints app. \n\n\n\nDay-of-event on-site registration will not be available. Due to the continuing pandemic\, the Saturday Series Rally will be Cascade’s tenth TSsD (Time Speed social Distance) road rally conducted in compliance with the Cascade Geargrinders Coronavirus Message. \n\n\n\nAfter completing online registration by the deadline of June 9th\, you will receive an email providing further instructions\, including your car number assignment\, instructions for registering your car number in the Competitor Richta app\, and a link to e-sign the required event insurance waiver. Once you’ve completed these check-in steps\, we’ll email the route instructions on Friday. You’ll need to print them. Friday evening\, there will be a Q & A Zoom meeting. \n\n\n\nOn Saturday morning\, leave the start by your assigned out time. Follow the route instructions to the end. The Rallymasters will email the results after all teams have completed the course. Saturday evening\, there will be a rally debrief Zoom meeting.

SUMMARY:OH: Delusional Drive to Daly Rd Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an afternoon of Dashing thru Northern Hamilton County from Fairfield to Mt. Healthy to New Baltimore\, along city streets and county roads on the Delusional Drive to Daly Rd Road Rally. This is an easy\, fun rally of 100 miles\, and as many questions to keep you and your Navigator awake searching for the clues to the answers. There will also be a set of EZ Instructions for those who would rather just enjoy the drive. The search is on for Daly Rd. When you see it\, you’ll need to mark it down for extra points\, or should I say for extra credit\, as the idea is to have the least number of points\, not the most. We should finish up starting about 2:30\, meeting afterward for food and beverages and scoring at Rick’s Tavern next door. \n\n\n\nPre-registration is strongly encouraged to ensure a place and to facilitate social distancing at on-site check-in. The cost for the event is $30\, with a discount available if at least one person in the car is a current SCCA member. \n\n\n\nA road rally is traversed over public roads within the legal speed limit. This is a GTA aka Game/Tour/Adventure Rally\, with no calculations necessary. The challenge is to follow the route and answer as many questions as possible. The Rally Master is Jim Knepper. \n\n\n\nChoose your option for this event and sign up for one of these options: \n\n\n\n(1) the competitive route instructions will include questions to be answered in order to score and determine the winner. The points earned will be counted for the Regional Championship. Some of the route directions will require some decision-making\, but there are no intentional traps.  \n\n\n\n(2) or if you prefer to join us for a fun drive with no scoring or prizes\, you can choose the Drive Instructions. The route is the same for both options\, but the fun drive will have explicit instructions to make it very difficult to get off course. \n\n\n\nThe schedule is: \n\n\n\n  9:00 AM – Registration and Check-in opens 10:15 AM – Safety Meeting (approximate time) 10:30 AM – Depart (approximate time)   2:30 PM – Could arrive at endpoint (approximate time)   3:30 PM – Must be at endpoint in order to be scored and awarded points \n\n\n\nFollowing COVID-19 protocols at the time\, we expect to be socializing after the event. SUMMARY:NY: NCHS Road Rally Fundraiser
DESCRIPTION:Looking to escape the rigors and isolation of Covid-19 for a bit? The Niagara County Historical Society is hosting their first ever NCHS Road Rally fundraiser on June 12\, 2021. The entry fee is a $50.00 donation to the Society per vehicle\, and a driver and at least one crewmember is required\, but you can add more\, as long as you finish with everyone who started.  \n\n\n\nUnlike the Memorial Day Indianapolis 500\, our Rally is NOT a race but a contest that will test driving skills\, knowledge\, powers of observation\, memory and the ability to do simple calculations while maneuvering your vehicle across a timed course over the roads of Niagara County.  \n\n\n\nParticipating vehicles will be given departure times between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM\, route instructions and a sealed envelope containing the Rally end point\, just in case you get hopelessly lost.  Participants will not have to leave their vehicle for anything. The drive will take approximately 2 hours. \n\n\n\nThe “fun” doesn’t end with just the leisurely drive through the country\, your team will also be tasked with decrypting clues\, identifying landmarks\, and recording information as you travel along the route.  On your arrival at the destination\, you will turn in your driving log with your recorded information for scoring. For timing concerns\, much of the route was planned below the posted speed limits but you will be responsible for obeying all traffic and civic laws. \n\n\n\nDue to this year’s pandemic\, there will be no post-Rally Award Ceremony\, but final results will be emailed/mailed to you within a few days of completing the course. Winners will be posted at the Niagara County History Center\, 215 Niagara St.\, and in the Erie Canal Discovery Center\, 24 Church St.\, both in Lockport and prizes TBA. Rally Instructions will be mailed/e-mailed to each competitor upon registration\, but your route instructions will be handed to your navigator only four minutes prior to your departure time. Join your fellow RoadRally enthusiasts for this 180-mile time-speed-distance National Tour RoadRally in the beautiful Wisconsin countryside. You and your rally partner will enjoy a scenic rally adventure through the marvelous country roads north of Madison\, Wisconsin. \n\n\n\nThis rally will use the Richta GPS checkpoint app. Contestants will download the app to their smartphones in advance of the rally. During the rally\, this app will use the GPS signals and automatically record your arrival time at each checkpoint and then display your score to you!! No more waiting until the rally is over to find out how you did. A bonus feature of this Richta GPS checkpoint system is that we can provide you with many more checkpoints and more challenging checkpoint locations. Expect at least 100 checkpoints in this 180-mile rally. Contestants will need a smartphone to run this event. If you’re planning to run another rally app during the event\, you’ll need to do that on a separate device. Next up on the Region’s road rally calendar\, following the upcoming Twilight Tour on April 17 (canceled\, due to Covid concerns\, April 12\, 2021)\, is the third of the Region’s eight scheduled 2021 rallies\, Moonlight Monte\, on June 5. Rallymaster Dan Harkcom will take you on roughly 200 miles of rallying over the back roads between West Branch and Houghton Lake – and there are many tasty roads to traverse in that area! Registration is open – click here to head over to MotorsportReg for additional event specifics and to register. \n\n\n\nSince most of Michigan’s most interesting and least-traveled rally roads are unpaved\, expect to run on Saturday and wash on Sunday. All of the roads used will be traversable at rally speeds in the average family car. Depending on weather conditions\, you can expect a combination of dust\, mud\, or washboard\, so prepare accordingly. \n\n\n\nMoonlight Monte will be an early afternoon through evening SCCA RoadRally event. DESCRIPTION:The First Friday Niter Series has a long history with the Santa Monica Sports Car Club\, a Chapter of the SCCA California Sports Car Club. Rallymaster Larry Scholnick is writing a Tour-style (no traps) on some fun back roads in Ventura County. This will be a TSD rally\, so it is all about average speeds. The rally finishes at Pizza Man Dan’s\, 1413 S Victoria Ave\, Ventura\, CA. \n\n\n\nRegistration opens at 7 PM\, with a Beginner/Richta App meeting at 740 PM. The first car is out at 801 PM. The entry is $25\, with a $10 discount if either the Driver or Navigator is an SCCA Member. Should you run the FFNs regularly\, this becomes an excellent reason to join the SCCA and other discounts available from National. \n\n\n\nWe are still practicing COVID-19 restrictions – primarily wearing masks and social distancing. We continue to use the Richta Competitor GPS app for checkpoints\, so no manned checkpoints or control cards to pass in and out of the car; there’s a new version\, 1.20\, that should automatically update on your phone when you log in. Each checkpoint sign will be clearly shown in the instructions\, so no guesswork will be needed.

DESCRIPTION:The 1st Annual Kenai Peninsula Fairgrounds Road Rally\, will be held on Saturday\, May 29th\, 2021\, with starting locations from the Diamond M Ranch in Kenai and from Hornaday Park in Homer. The 70th Kenai Peninsula Fair will be held August 13-15th. \n\n\n\nAll signups by May 10th will receive a free commemorative tee shirt with their Registration. Entry fee is $50 per vehicle and shirts will be available for sale during Registration. \n\n\n\nThe following documents\, valid on the date of the event\, must be shown to the rally officialsupon registration (failure to do so is grounds for exclusion):• Driver’s License for anyone listed as “driver”• Vehicle registration• Proof of insurance• Signed waiver forms from all participants• Signed Parental Consent form for drivers under the age of 18  \n\n\n\nAll drivers must be at least 16 years of age or older\, have a valid and current drivers’ license\,registration\, and proof of insurance. All drivers that are 18-years old and below must have aParental Consent Form signed by their parent or legal guardian. Each car is required to have oneDriver and at least one Navigator. The Rally is a timed event\, but not a race so it is required tofollow all traffic and safety laws. Estimated traveling times between the checkpoints will beposted on the instruction sheet at the start of the rally\, the objective being to arrive as close aspossible to the given time.      By participating in this event\, all participants are deemed to have agreed to be bound by theseregulations. SUMMARY:IN: CASTatrophic Times Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:CASTastrophic Times is a fairly brisk rally and is mostly run on the fun roads of Henderson County\, Kentucky. The route is about 100 miles and takes just under 2.5 hours. \n\n\n\nThe gathering point is in the Hardees. Entrant check-in and tech will be from 12:30 to 1:00 PM\, with the first car out about 1:30. \n\n\n\nFollowing SIR/SCCA COVID-19 policy\, the event is motorsportreg.com online registration only. You must register before 6:00 P.M. Saturday. The driver must register first. The navigator then connects to a registered driver. \n\n\n\nThe cost is $32 per car. There’s an additional $10 charge for non-SCCA member drivers. When payment is processed after the event\, SCCA member or not\, the SIR ‘Pay to Play’ discount will be applied. That’s a $5 saving to those that have run the previous rally…and running this rally gets you ‘Pay to Play’ for our next rally. \n\n\n\nThe main road rules in use will be following the center line and straight as possible. There’s no T rule and thus no counting of opportunities at T’s. There are lots of references to road numbers throughout the route. It should be easy to follow. \n\n\n\nNovice tutoring will be offered at about noon. If you’ve only tried autocrossing\, this rally could open your eyes to how much late braking and heavy throttle application it takes to maintain a 48-55 MPH average on roads that have hills\, bends\, and some sharp turns! \n\n\n\nPS:  On the Apple or Android smartphone or tablet device of your choice\, please have the newest Richta Competitor application installed. A new version was released recently. It’s a free app. Teams MUST devote one device to running the application to be timed at the checkpoints.  The route has been tested with Android version 1.20.

We are offering a unique Social Rally\, just for fun. It is not part of any series or serious points race. \n\n\n\nWhere: Starts and ends at Tom Wahl’s on Route 5&20 in Avon \n\n\n\nWhen: Sunday\, 5/16/21.  Check In: 12:30-1:30pm\, First car off at 2:01 (more on timing below) \n\n\n\nHow much: The entry fee is $20/car plus $5 for each weekend membership. The proceeds from the event will be donated to the Avon Food Pantry to help the local community. \n\n\n\nEvent Day Details:  \n\n\n\nThis is a ‘minimal contact’ event. There is a limit of 45 cars.The rally is:You follow the course\, maintaining speeds below the posted speed limit.As you follow the route\, you will be timed at locations unknown to you. All checkpoints will be closed (you do not stop at them.)The course is approximately 31 miles and should take about 56 minutes to complete.Teams then repeat the course route at 3:00+car #.For the second time around the route\, checkpoint signs will be out where the cars are timed again. The score will be how close the minute and hundredths are to the time you passed on the first loop (if you did it the first time\, you should be able to do it a second time\, right?)If you take a TA on the second passage\, text it to the phone number on the routes with a mileage where it occurred. DESCRIPTION:A number of years ago the Chicago Region SCCA held a tour-type rally to LaCrosse Wisconsin. Several of the entrants had their private radios with them to communicate with each other as we traversed the tour route. Conversation over the radios was minimal\, then suddenly the silence was broken! A voice came across the airways shouting “goats\, goats\, goats\,” and then it went silent. What we all found out later that day is that a small heard of goats were on the road just past a curve. Apparently the noise from the car and its driver yelling as loud as possible on the radio scared the goats away because no one else observed this obstacle.   \n\n\n\nNow\, we can’t promise you that same level of excitement\, nor do we want you to experience it for yourself on this Chicago Region SCCA Tour.  However\, if you join us this coming Saturday\, May 15\, 2021 the Chicago Region and its G.O.A.T.S. (Get Out and Tour Series) backroads tour series will provide you with an enjoyable day of driving\, using great Wisconsin backroads providing scenic views and plenty of turns and elevation changes. The drive will take approximately 2.5 hours to complete ending in Paoli\, Wisconsin\, where there will be options for lunch and some socializing. SUMMARY:PA: Cruising for Clues\, A Different Kind of Road Trip
DESCRIPTION:From the riverreporter.com\n\n\n\nBETHANY\, PA — Have some fun on Saturday\, May 15 by taking a scenic drive in the country. \n\n\n\nUse your deductive powers to figure out a series of clues to 10 sites around central Wayne County. Follow a 60-mile circular route on scenic highways and backroads through rural countryside\, from the village of Bethany to the Delaware River\, and back again. And it’s all to benefit Bethany Public Library. \n\n\n\nThis fundraising event\, called Cruising for Clues\, is a cross between a scavenger hunt and a different kind of road rally. The cost to enter is $30 per car. \n\n\n\nRSVPs are requested no later than the day before the event\, Friday\, May 14. To RSVP\, call the Library at 570-253-4349. \n\n\n\nOn Saturday\, May 15\, registration and payment open at 8:15 and close at 9:30 a.m. at the Library. The first two cars depart at 8:30 a.m.\, and after that\, cars leave in 10-minute intervals until all participants are on the road. Snacks and water will be provided. The day ends with a drawing to win a handful of prizes; attendance not required to win. \n\n\n\nThis is a COVID-safe event; participants will spend 95% of their time in their cars. SUMMARY:WI: Chippewa Trail National Tour RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:The Land of Lakes Chippewa Trail is an SCCA National Tour RoadRally counting towards the SCCA National RoadRally Championship. It starts and ends in Menomonie\, WI\, on Saturday\, May 15th. Menomonie is a small college town (UW Stout) with a variety of things to do and interesting restaurants and breweries. \n\n\n\nHeadquarters is the AmericInn in Menomone located at the junction of Interstate 94 and WIS 25. We have no rate at this time but last I checked it was $98/night the weekend of May 15. \n\n\n\nThere is a Fleet Farm across the road as well as a car wash and Gas Station/Convenience store.  \n\n\n\nRoads: Only paved roads are used.  \n\n\n\nLength: about 200 miles. Should take a little less than 8 hours to run. \n\n\n\nThe rally follows the international regularity rally format. Speed shall have no impact whatsoever on the classification. Regularity Tests (RTs) shall be set up where participants have to follow the established average speed and stay close to the ideal time throughout the route. Time penalties shall be handed down as points. The winner shall be the competitor with the fewest points at the end of the rally. The details of the itinerary and the various controls shall be set out in the time card. \n\n\n\nAll registration material will be either online or sent to you via SIGNAL so you can fill it out before arrival. The exception is the SCCA Waiver which we must witness. If you want timely updates and all printed material the weekend before the event you MUST set up and join the group when you register.
