SUMMARY:CA: Thunder Road 2023 Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:THUNDER ROAD 2023\, an SCCA National Tour\, is the first event of the Cal Club and Into the Night Rally Team’s Double Rally Weekend! TWO LANE BLACK TOP\, is an SCCA Divisional Tour Rally on Sunday\, June 18\, 2023 \n\n\n\nWe are proud that last year’s Thunder Road 2022 was named the Best New National Rally of 2022 by the Sports Car Club of America\, and we are striving to make TR23 even better. We take our responsibility to provide you with a fun and exciting rally very seriously. We have searched diligently to find you the prettiest roads we could and to get you out of civilization as much as possible. We will be running the most scenic and drivable roads in the San Gabriel\, Tehachapi\, and southern Sierra Nevada mountains\, and through the farmlands and open vistas of Kern County and the Antelope Valley.   \n\n\n\nThe Route Instructions for this event will use a simple Monte Carlo format\, meaning you get turn-by-turn directions and your target time at each Checkpoint. All Timed Checkpoints are listed in the Route Instructions and referenced by prominent signs on the course. The rally is a little over 350 miles long\, and you will have about 8 and a half hours of driving nirvana with many breaks for gas\, food\, and rest stops. \n\n\n\nThe object of this event is to enjoy driving sweeping\, beautiful\, challenging back roads at legal speeds while following simple directions to pass a series of Checkpoints at just the right time.  \n\n\n\nRallymaster Joe Akerman says “There is no need for advanced math\, no riddles\, compasses\, maps or gimmicks\, just glorious roads to drive with a focus on precision and accuracy.” This is a team sport —the Driver and Navigator must work together to get it right. Only two people (Driver and Navigator) are allowed per car on SCCA Naitonal Road Rallies. The rally will run\, rain or shine. \n\n\n\nThere are no preset average speeds; just run at the posted speed limits (the rally is timed at least two mph BELOW those limits and has pauses where needed). If you reach a timed Checkpoint early\, you can pull over\, get out of traffic lanes\, and either creep or stop and wait for your target time to pass by the Checkpoint. \n\n\n\nWe will be using the Richta GPS Competitor app for timing and scoring. This app is FREE and easy to use on any GPS-enabled smartphone or tablet. Go to the App Store\, Google Play Store\, or https://richtarally.com/ and download it. There is no need for additional timing equipment; your Official Time shows in the app! \n\n\n\nThis event has been designed to be extremely EV friendly. There are charging stations at the Start\, in the area of the breaks\, and near the Finish. \n\n\n\nPlease register online here at MotorsportsReg. The Registration fee is $95 per car. There’s a $15 discount for each of up to 2 SCCA members. When you check out\, use the discount code SCCAONE if you have one SCCA member in the car.  Use the code SCCATWO if you have two SCCA members in the car. PLEASE USE ONLY ONE OF THESE DISCOUNTS.  (If the “register now” button doesn’t work\, please reload this page and try again.) \n\n\n\nYou may still register in person at the Start. (Sorry\, but we cannot accept credit cards at Registration. Please use the MSR website to pay by credit card.) Rally day registration will be at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites\, our headquarters hotel\, in Valencia\, CA 91355\, exit 170 off Interstate 5 at Magic Mountain Parkway. \n\n\n\nThis is an SCCA National Tour Rally sponsored by the Into the Night Rally Team and CalClub. Trophies will be awarded to the top teams in Classes E (Equipped)\, L (Limited equipment)\,  S (Stock)\, G (GPS-driven rally computers)\, and N (Novice – 3 or fewer previous rallies). \n\n\n\nMore Info can be found at www.itnrally.org and on our Into the Night Rally Team Facebook page. For any questions or more detailed information\, contact Rallymaster Joe via the info below. \n\n\n\n************************************* \n\n\n\nClick here to register for TWO LANE BLACKTOP\, an SCCA Divisional Tour Rally on June 18\, 2023\,

SUMMARY:CO: Rallye Glenwood Springs
DESCRIPTION:Over the June 9-11th Weekend\, the MG Car Club (of England)\, Rocky Mountain Centre\, will be hosting Rallye Glenwood Springs\, billed as the oldest continuously run TSD rally in the U.S.\, and celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the MG car company. After WW II\, returning military officers came home with the MG TC\, a lightweight roadster suitable for road\, track\, and hill climbs. The cars created a sensation\, leading to the rapid expansion of sports car ownership in the U.S. in the early 1950s. These cars\, together with Jags\, 356 Porsches\, and the occasional Allard\, first contested the Rallye Glenwood Springs.  \n\n\n\nThe MGCC\, RMC was chartered in 1954. Among the founding members were Hazel Hopkins Marble\, a local road race and hill climb enthusiast\, and Doreen Evans\, a member of the famous “Dancing Daughters\,” an all-woman MG factory race team of the 1930s. The MGCC\, RMC\, currently has more than 200 member families. \n\n\n\nThe centerpiece of a three-day sports car event\, the Rallye is run in and around beautiful Glenwood Springs\, Colorado\, on Saturday\, June 10th. All makes\, and models are invited\, though sports cars and classics are strongly encouraged.  \n\n\n\nThe Friday History Repeats Itself Tour begins at Gunther Toody’s Restaurant\, 8266 W Bowles Ave\, Littleton\, CO\, and may be started at your leisure; however\, we recommend you depart no later than 9:00A so you can be at the hotel in time to complete the tie-breaker questions. Tour instructions are given out between 7:30A and 9:00A at Gunther Toody’s. As in the past\, pay attention to everything along the way\, as successfully answering the tie-breaker questions at the end may rely upon that particular skill.   \n\n\n\nTour Classes \n\n\n\nYou can only enter one class. \n\n\n\nThe MG class is for all MG vehicles driven on the tour.  \n\n\n\nThe Vintage class is for cars\, including MGs\, made before 1970.  \n\n\n\nThe Modern class is for all non-MG cars made from 1970 onwards.  \n\n\n\nFirst\, second\, and third-place trophies will be presented for each class. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOn Saturday\, the Rallye Glenwood Springs begins with registration at 7A. The First Car Departs at 8:01A from the Courtyard Glenwood Springs\, our host hotel. This year’s Rallye is a traditional Time Speed Distance (TSD) Rallye. The Rallyemaster has avoided hard-to-see signs and other annoyances to ensure a fun and challenging rallye experience. An insurance waiver must be signed by both driver and navigator before departing. \n\n\n\nA clipboard\, pen/pencil and paper\, stopwatch\, and a well-read copy of the Rallye General Instructions will be helpful. Please visit the MGCC.org website to read the Rallye General Instructions and the Rallye Primer. A draft copy of the Supplement will also be posted\, with a final version in your Rallye packet. One or more experienced rallyists will be available at the start location to answer questions. \n\n\n\nThe route is on paved roads. All assigned speeds will be at or below posted speed limits. There will be breaks along the route\, including a lunch break.  \n\n\n\nRallye Classes \n\n\n\nNovice SOP (Seat of the Pants) – Rallyists are eligible for Novice class until they win a First Place or have competed in THREE TSD Rallyes. Pencil and paper calculations only.  \n\n\n\nIntermediate SOP – Rallyists are eligible for Intermediate class until they have won First Place in Intermediate class.  Pencil and paper calculations only.  \n\n\n\nExperienced SOP – No limit on experience. Pencil and paper calculations only. Rallye charts and tables are permitted.  \n\n\n\nVintage – Any equipment must be period correct. Cars must be forty years old or older (1982 or older).  \n\n\n\nComputer – No limit on equipment. \n\n\n\nParticipants must properly determine their Rallye class and enter it on their scorecard. Failure to indicate your class on the scorecard will place you in Experienced SOP class.  \n\n\n\nTrophies are awarded in first through fourth places in Novice and Intermediate Classes\, and first through third places in Experienced\, Vintage\, and Computer Classes. \n\n\n\nAnd the festivities don’t end there! On Sunday\, there will be a Car Show and a Funkhana\, Youth Judging\, and Special Awards for the weekends activities.

SUMMARY:WI: Roads Scamper 2023 National Tour Rally
DESCRIPTION:Join your fellow RoadRally enthusiasts for this 180-mile time-speed-distance National Tour RoadRally in the beautiful Wisconsin countryside. You and your rally partner will enjoy a scenic adventure through the marvelous country roads from Prairie du Chien to Madison on the north side of the Wisconsin River.   \n\n\n\nThis rally will use the Richta GPS Competitor app. Contestants will download the app to their smartphones in advance of the rally. During the rally\, this app will use the GPS signals and automatically record your arrival time at each checkpoint and then display your score to you!!  No more waiting until the rally is over to find out how you did. A bonus feature of this Richta GPS checkpoint system is that we can provide many more checkpoints and more challenging checkpoint locations. Expect at least 100 checkpoints in this 180-mile rally. Contestants will need a smartphone to run this event. If you plan to run another rally app during the event\, you’ll need to do that on a separate device; the Richta GPS Competitor app needs to be the only app running on your phone during the rally. \n\n\n\nThis is a tour-type rally\, so there are no tricks or traps. There are no unpaved roads on the Roads Scamper National Tour Rally route. \n\n\n\nSchedule: Check-in – 7:30 AM to 8:00 AM Sunday \n\n\n\nFirst Car Off – 8:31 AM  First Car Finished – Approx 3:15 pm at the Dorf Haus Restaurant\, Roxbury\, WI. \n\n\n\nCost: $70/car. There will be a variable Main Road rule.  \n\n\n\nIt is not recommended for people who have never rallied before.  \n\n\n\nThere are several miles of unpaved roads on the rally route.  \n\n\n\nThe rally starts in Verona\, Wisconsin (at Hyatt Place) and finishes in Prairie du Chien\, WI (on the Mississippi River). The following day\, June 4th\, the Roads Scamper National Tour Rally starts at the Country Inn & Suites\, Prairie du Chien\, WI\, and runs back to Madison\, WI. \n\n\n\nFor additional rally and lodging information\, click here for our Registration page on Motorsportreg.Friday Headquarters hotel: Hyatt Place\, Wisconsin.  Saturday Headquarters hotel: Country Inn & Suites\, Prairie du Chien\, WI.Sunday night hotel: La Quinta\, Madison\, WI.  (near the airport). \n\n\n\nRoads Scholar National Course Rally schedule: Check-in – 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday\, in the Lobby Lounge of Hyatt Place\, Verona\, WI.First Car Off – 8:31 AM  SaturdayFirst Car Finished – Approx 5:30 pm – Prairie du Chien\, WI \n\n\n\nCost: $90/car. Two Weekend Memberships are required if neither team member is an SCCA member. \n\n\n\nPre-registration is required for this event. General Instructions will be emailed to all registered contestants two weeks prior to the event. \n\n\n\nWe encourage you to join us the next day\, Sunday\, June 4th\, for the Roads Scamper National Tour RoadRally.  Roads Scamper starts at the County Inn & Suites\, Prairie du Chien\, WI. You can register for this rally on MSReg.com. It is listed as a separate event.Want further information on Roads Scholar? Contact the Rallymaster Jim Crittenden. The Roads Scholar National Course Rally will have four Classes\, as determined by the distance measurement and calculating devices used.Class E (Equipped)      There are no restrictions on calculating equipment in this Class. Typical calculating devices in this Class include Alfa\, Chronar\, Timewise\, and Zeron rally computers.Class L (Limited)        All distance information is derived from any of the following: the vehicle’s electronic system\, the vehicle’s speedometer cable\, or pulses generated by the movement of the vehicle (e.g.\, magnets mounted to the drivetrain\, of GPS devices). Calculating devices are limited to those that require manual entry of the distance information (e.g.\, Curta calculators\, tables\, laptop computers\, electronic APPs\, and programmable and non-programmable electronic calculators). Readouts that continuously show the difference from either the perfect time or the perfect distance are prohibited.Class S (Stock)        Any distance information used for timing calculations must be visually acquired from the vehicle’s stock\, non-adjustable odometer in the stock location. Any calculating device may be used as long as the distance information from the vehicle’s stock odometer is manually entered into the device. GPS odometers may be used in this Class only if their information is NOT used for any timing calculations or for any determination of earliness or lateness.Class G (GPS)        All distance information must be derived from a GPS source. Calculating devices may be any electronic device (e.g.\, Simple Rally Computer type APPs and a GPS-Pulser) providing distance input to a Rally computer.

SUMMARY:CA: First Friday Niter Social Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:Stay tuned for updates… \n\n\n\nThis rally uses the Richta GPS Competitor app for timing and scoring\, with timing in seconds. This month’s maximum penalty is 120 seconds (2 minutes) per checkpoint. The app is FREE and easy to use on any GPS-enabled smartphone. Go to the App Store or Google Play Store\, or https://richtarally.com/. There is no need for additional timing equipment or clocks to your Official Time shows in the app!  \n\n\n\nAlso\, if you want to see all the scores at the Finish\, download the FREE Richta Scoreboard app. \n\n\n\nPlease try to register online at MotorsportReg.com. This helps us determine how many Route Instructions to print\, trophies\, etc. If that doesn’t work for you\, you can still register in person at the start. We start at the Bank of America rear lot. In-person registration opens at 7:00 pm\, with the first car out at 8:01 pm; there is a beginner/Richta meeting at 7:40 pm. \n\n\n\nThe rally will finish at an area restaurant. \n\n\n\nIs your usual rally partner not available for this FFN?  Let Jeanne know; she will attempt to match you up with another rallyist. SUMMARY:VT: Buffum's Summer Challenge Rally
DESCRIPTION:The SCCA New England Region’s Summer Challenge Rally will be on Saturday\, May 20th\, out of Randolph\, VT Distance of ~170mi. From Rallymaster John Buffum\, “Not a “trap rally” per se\, but you will have to think on occasion.” Extensive rally knowledge not required. \n\n\n\nAnd from the website\, where you can find more information about this event: \n\n\n\nMar 13\, 2023: I went out today to start the first survey. I plan routes at home using county type maps and then see how they really look when I drive around; usually 3 to 4 times over the course. \n\n\n\nI have an idea of the ‘difficult instructions’ that I might want to use. It’s actually finding spots on the course to use them. This time you’ll be pleased (or not) to know I found some. ???? \n\n\n\nMar 9\, 2023: Yes\, we will do a Summer Challenge Rally on May 20 starting at Exit 4 of I-89 in Randolph\, Vermont. More info here as time goes on.

SUMMARY:OH: NE Ohio Vertigo RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:The SCCA NEOhio Region invites you to enter the 2023 Vertigo Rally. The ±180-mile route will wind through the hills of Ohio’s Stark\, Carroll\, Columbiana\, and Jefferson Counties\, utilizing many of the same roads as an old rally of the same name. \n\n\n\nCompetitors can expect an absolutely straightforward\, gimmick-free\, Time-Speed-Distance (TSD) road rally with emphasis on precise timing at well-placed controls. Route Instructions will include Official Mileages for all action points. \n\n\n\nThe Vertigo Rally will count toward the SCCA Great Lakes Division Rally Championship and the SCCA National Touring Championship. \n\n\n\nStart Location:  Bob Evans Restaurant\, 5375 Dressler Rd.\, North Canton\, Ohio  44720 (Latitude N41.85920˚\, Longitude W080.64255˚). \n\n\n\nTentative Schedule (all times EDT): \n\n\n\nSaturday\, May 6\, 2023: 23:59 – Early entry cutoff \n\n\n\nWednesday\, May 10\, 2023: 18:00 – Registration closes. General Instructions and Richta password distributed via email. \n\n\n\nThursday\, May 11\, 2023: 20:00 – Competitor briefing / Novice Q & A session (via Zoom) \n\n\n\nSaturday\, May 13\, 2023: \n\n\n\n     09:30-10:40 – On-site registration \n\n\n\n     11:01 – Car #1 starts rally. \n\n\n\n      17:30 (approx) – Car #1 finishes. \n\n\n\nCompetition Classes: \n\n\n\n     E – Equipment unrestricted. \n\n\n\n     L – Odometer unrestricted. Calculating device is restricted only in that it may not be integrated with odometer. \n\n\n\n     G – GPS–derived odometer only and any calculating device. \n\n\n\n     S – Stock odometer only. Calculating device is restricted only in that it may not be integrated with odometer. \n\n\n\n     Novice – Class S entry in which neither team member has previously entered more than 5 TSD rallies. \n\n\n\nEntry Fees: \n\n\n\n     SCCA Members (Driver and/or Navigator have an annual membership): $45.00/car before the early entry cutoff\, $55.00 after that. \n\n\n\n     Others: Add $20.00 to the above (Member) fees (to purchase the mandated SCCA Weekend/Trial memberships for both team members). Individuals that purchase a Weekend Membership are eligible for a $15.00 credit toward an annual SCCA membership for 60 days following the rally.  \n\n\n\nNOTE: All teams must pre-register! Click here for MotorsportReg\, where you’ll find more information about the Vertigo Rally and get your team registered. There will be no walk-in entries on the day of the rally. SCCA Members are urged to apply for an Annual Waiver to bypass the signing of the paper waivers at each SCCA event. Should either of your team be a Minor (under 18 years of age)\, don’t hesitate to contact Rallymaster Ron Johnstonbaugh to obtain an SCCA Minor Waiver form to be properly executed before the rally by the Minor’s parents/guardian. \n\n\n\nThis rally will be timed with the Richta GPS Competitor automated checkpoint system. Each team must carry a “smart” phone or tablet (Android or iOS) running the current version of the Richta GPS Competitor “app.” Before the rally\, all the checkpoint information (Latitude/Longitude coordinates and target arrival times) will be uploaded to the “cloud.” Teams will receive a password allowing them to download this information for their entry. Competitors will NOT be able to view this information in advance. Upon arrival at each checkpoint\, a team’s device will sound an alert\, displaying the team’s recorded arrival time\, the score for that control\, and cumulative score. The device may also display leg “critique” information provided by the Rallymaster Ron Johnstonbaugh. \n\n\n\nSome helpful Richta user information can be found on the Detroit Region\, SCCA website: http://drscca.org/rally/using-the-richta-competitor-app/ \n\n\n\nTeams are encouraged to register a second (backup) phone or tablet under a “phantom” car number 100 greater than their assigned car number (Car #1/101\, Car #2/102\, etc.). The second device will serve as an arrival time “insurance policy” and help organizers better understand the relative timing behavior of various platforms. It will not be used for scoring unless there is a failure of the primary device.

SUMMARY:WI: 11th Annual Badger Burrow Divisional Tour Rallye
DESCRIPTION:The Milwaukee Region SCCA invites you to come run the 11th Annual Badger Burrow Tour Rallye. The event is a brisk run through Wisconsin’s driftless and moraine region\, mainly in Green County. The glaciers skipped this area during the last ice age\, leaving behind a terrain filled with valleys and ridges. The course takes full advantage of the region. Expect many curves\, ups and downs\, and paved roads that are seldom straight. Many say these are among the best sports car roads in the country. \n\n\n\nWe will be using the Richta GPS Checkpoints automatic timing and scoring system. Contestants are expected to provide an Android or Apple smartphone capable of running this app. The app times you into the hidden controls and automatically provides you with a running score. Expect more than 50 timed controls over the approximately 120-mile course. Contestants can relax and tell rally tales during the two breaks in the 5-hour event. We hope to see you there. \n\n\n\nStart Location: Panera Bread \n\n\n\nFinish Location: The Thirsty Goat 3040 Cahill Main\, Fitchburg\, Wisconsin 53711  \n\n\n\nSchedule —Check-in opens: 9:00 AM and the First Car Off: 11:01 AMFirst Car Finished: Approx 4:15 PMCost: $40.00/car\, a minimum of 2 people per car is required.(+$15 SCCA Weekend Membership unless a least one person is an SCCA Member) \n\n\n\nPre-registration is required for this event at www.msreg.com/bbRallye23 F \n\n\n\nFor more information\, please contact Rallymaster Fred Rosevear.

SUMMARY:WI: Escape To Wisconsin Navigational Scatter
DESCRIPTION:The SCCA Land of Lakes Region’s first Navigational Scatter (NavScat). For SCCA purposes\, it is sanctioned as a GTA (Games Touring Adventure). After this scatter rally\, we will be caravaning to Wisconsin Dells on our way to our final destination\, the Badger Burrow Divisional Tour\, in Fitchburg\, WI\, on Sunday. If you plan to run Badger Burrow\, you must pre-register\, as It fills quickly. \n\n\n\nNavigational Scatters were created to provide a rally challenge without the burden of staying on time.We track your progress using the MiRally transponders. Your course is converted to driving distance via GPS and Google Maps. This distance is how you will be scored. \n\n\n\nThere are several locations to visit. Plot the shortest route that takes you by all of them. Although a map will be provided\, you may use any device you want to aid you\, including online mapping. Google Maps is helpful but does not always give the shortest route. The route between the points offers many options. \n\n\n\nYou’ll have three hours and 20 minutes from the time you check in until the time you check in at the endpoint. This includes some extra time in case you make mistakes along the way. Your score is the total miles from start to end. There is a 30-mile penalty for each one you miss. \n\n\n\nYou will be asked to select a Class. No classes exist for the Escape to Wisconsin Navigational Scatter; your selection will be used for the SCCA LOL Championship. Head over to Motorsportreg and sign up today! \n\n\n\nYou are responsible for ensuring the following are in order:Headlights (high and low beams) and parking lightsTaillights and brake lightsHorn\, windshield wipers\, and directional signalsRear-view mirrorFoot brakes and parking brakeTires (inspect for the condition of sidewalls as well as tread)Seat belts\, securely installed for the driver and navigatorSafety triangle (optional)First Aid Kit (optional)Tow Rope (optional)Fire Extinguisher (optional)

SUMMARY:NY: Do It Again RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:The SCCA Finger Lakes Region invites you to join them for a little Spring Rally fun\, with its Do It Again RoadRally. It is a Social Rally and not apart of any series or serious points race. \n\n\n\nHere are the details: \n\n\n\n\nYou follow the course\, maintaining speeds below the posted speed limit.\n\n\n\nAs you follow the route\, you will be timed at locations unknown to you. All checkpoints will be closed (you do not stop at them.)\n\n\n\nThe course is approximately 31 miles and should take about 56 minutes to complete.\n\n\n\nTeams then repeat the course route at 2:00+car #.\n\n\n\nFor the second time around the route\, checkpoint signs will be out where the cars are timed again. The score will be how close the minute and hundredths is to the time you passed on the first loop (if you did it the first time\, you should be able to do it a second time\, right?)\n\n\n\nIf you take a TA on the second passage\, text it to the phone number on the routes with a mileage where it occurred. Once a TA is taken\, the TA time applies for the rest of the second loop.\n\n\n\nCars will have a window chalk or magnetic number on each side of the car so the checkpoint worker can identify the car as it passes.\n\n\n\nRoutes would be handed out to the teams at Registration\, at the event.\n\n\n\nThere will be a brief Driver’s meeting at 12:45\, before the event.\n\n\n\nThe results will be calculated after the event and also emailed to all competitors in case you have to leave.\,\n\n\n\nWe will do results at the finish as quickly as we can so we can share rally stories and enjoy some after event camaraderie.\n\n\n\n\nClasses:    Experienced (if any team member has done more than 5 rallies)    Novice (new to rally where neither team member has done more than 5 rallies) \n\n\n\nRegistration is online with MotorsportReg and you can click here for more information\, too. SUMMARY:CA: SCCA Cal Club First Friday Niter
DESCRIPTION:This Cinco de Mayo\, the Santa Monica Sports Car Club will be running the rally initially scheduled for March 3rd\, yet was postponed due to weather-related road closures. But you shouldn’t let puns go to waste\, so pretend it’s 3/3/2023\, grab your favorite Musketeer\, and join us for what was supposed to be the 3rd First Friday Niter of the year.  \n\n\n\nThere will be three legs with three stages per leg on this Tour rally of the Sierra Pelona Ridge. There are no traps this month\, and plenty of three\, er\, free zones to enjoy some of the best driving roads the region has to offer. Just make sure you’re on time outside those free zones because the checkpoints are unmarked – kind of like the pre-app days.  \n\n\n\nThis rally uses the Richta GPS Competitor app for timing and scoring\, with timing in seconds. This month’s maximum penalty is 60 seconds (1 minute) per checkpoint. \n\n\n\nThe rally will finish at IHOP\, 1225 Truman St.\, San Fernando\, CA 91340.  This is close to the start\, so it’s a short drive back in case Drivers and Navigators meet at the start location. \n\n\n\nIs your usual rally partner not available for this FFN?  Let Jeanne know; she will attempt to match you up with another rallyist.  Contact Jeanne at ean21@juno.com.

SUMMARY:IL: St. Louis Region Tulips by Night
DESCRIPTION:A St. Louis Region\, SCCA\, Social Road Rally in conjunction with the St. Louis/Southern Illinois Gateway Sprints MiDiv Majors Weekend\, at World Wide Technology Raceway. \n\n\n\n\n\nDescription: Tulips by Night 2023 is an evening Monte-Carlo-style road rally/tour of about 50 miles. We have designed this event with the new/occasional rally team in mind. Expect paved county roads\, easy-to-follow tulip diagrams for route instructions\, and checkpoint locations identified both by official mileages and official arrival times. Timing will be in minutes and seconds\, with checkpoint arrival times calculated to whole minutes. For teams new to rallying\, a brief school before the event will explain how to run the event and answer questions a team might have. \n\n\n\nStart: World Wide Technology Raceway\, Madison\, IL. \n\n\n\nFinish: The Lucky Rooster Pub & Eatery\, 101 W. Main St.\, St. Jacob\, IL 62281. \n\n\n\nSize of the field: We are limiting the field to 15 teams. \n\n\n\nRegistration: Pre-event Registration only here at Motorsportreg. Entries on a first-come basis. You will find much more information about the event\, the Richta GPS Competitor App\, and you can reach out to Rallymaster Jim Heine\, too! \n\n\n\nMay 5 check-in and signing of waivers\, etc.: 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at World Wide Technology Raceway. \n\n\n\nRally school Q&A : 6:15 PM and the Safety meeting: 6:45 PM and First car departs the start: 7:01 p.m. \n\n\n\nFirst car arrived at finish: Approximately 9 p.m. (We will have a full moon\, the Flower Moon\, May 5\, with sunset at 7:56 p.m. With Mother Nature’s cooperation\, it should be a perfect occasion for an evening drive. The Lucky Rooster\, which is staying open just for us\, has a lovely patio also.) \n\n\n\nWhat you need: a car\, a Driver & Navigator\, a smartphone or tablet for the Richta GPS Competitor App\, a clipboard & calculator\, pencils & paper\, and a flashlight or map light to read route instructions after sundown—and an inclination to take an evening drive. \n\n\n\nWhat you don’t need: Special rally lights on your vehicle. (Your OEM headlights should do just fine.) \n\n\n\nEntry fee: $20.00 per team for SCCA Members\, $35.00 per team for Non-members. \n\n\n\nOther really good things to know–timing and scoring: Tulips by Night 2023 is a TSD (Time-Speed-Distance) event at which you will be timed at several locations along the rally route. We will use the Richta Rally GPS Checkpoint System for timing and scoring. To compete\, each participating team will need a smartphone or tablet with active data cellular service (no airplane mode and no wi-fi only devices!) with the Richta Competitor App installed. The app will report your arrival time and leg score to your cellphone or tablet moments after you pass each GPS checkpoint location. For more information about the Richta GPS system visit https://richtarally.com. Also\, the SCCA Detroit Region’s rally page has an excellent summary of the Richta system\, especially its Competitor App\, which you will use. Visit http://drscca.org/rally/using-the-richta-competitor-app. Visiting it is worth your time. \n\n\n\nAbout the St. Louis Region\, SCCA: The SCCA’s St. Louis Region\, with some 600 members\, offers Road Racing\, Performance Driving Experience (PDE)\, RallyCross\, RoadRally\, Solo (autocross)\, and Street Survival School programs to educate and provide safe environments for individuals to enjoy their street-legal (daily driver) cars and purpose-built racecars. The region is home to more than 80 national champions and has been recognized three times by the Sports Car Club of America as the Region of the Year in its member category. In 2023\, the region will host an “SCCA Majors” road-racing weekend and multiple Solo and RallyCross regional events. To learn more about the St. Louis Region\, visit www.stlscca.org. \n\n\n\nEvent requirements\n\n\n\nThe standard SCCA rules regarding road-rally registration will be observed (e.g.\, proof of valid drivers license and current auto insurance\, vehicle inspection [self-inspection by the rally team]\, signing of SCCA waiver/release forms\, including confirmation of valid SCCA Annual Minor Waivers for Minors). \n\n\n\nWaivers: All participants will be required to read and sign the standard SCCA waiver before being allowed to participate in this event. The signing of the SCCA’s “Release and Waiver of Liability\, Assumption of Risk and Indemnity Agreement” is a pre-condition to participating in any SCCA event. Any adult\, age 18 or older\, must sign the waiver. \n\n\n\nMinor Participants: A Minor taking part in an SCCA event\, including this event\, as a competitor\, on-track participant\, or volunteer or worker with access to restricted (hot) areas must have an Annual Minor Waiver on file for the calendar year. \n\n\n\nThe Age of Majority is 18 years except in Alabama and Nebraska\, where it is\, 19 and Mississippi\, where it is 21. \n\n\n\nThe Annual Minor Waiver will be issued to the Minor by the SCCA National Office. For more information about this process\, click on the following document and see the section “Minor Annual Waivers”: Digital Annual Waiver 12-01-2021.pdf.

SUMMARY:TX: Texas Region Spring Paradise Trek
DESCRIPTION:The Texas Region of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) invites all fellow car enthusiasts to this Spring Paradise Trek in Denton and Wise counties. A Trek is a non-competitive driving event on scenic country roads. There are no questions\, puzzles\, tricks\, traps\, or timed controls\, just a fun (and stress-free) drive following a pre-determined route using a “convoy style” format. We’ll provide basic route instructions as a backup only. All are welcome\, and no prior rally experience is necessary. \n\n\n\nWe’ll set out from The Horny Toad Café & Bar in Denton\, then wind our way on twisty back roads\, some of them within the LBJ National Grassland\, ending in Paradise\, Texas (the town\, not the state of mind). We’ll stop for a group picture at one or two sites along the route. For added fun\, we plan to stop along the way to visit Eagles Canyon Raceway (ECR)\, where we can briefly tour the facilities\, observe cars on track\, and enjoy a quick lunch at the Over the Top Bar & Grill. \n\n\n\n\nCheck-in and starting place: The Horny Toad Café & Bar\n\n\n\nRegistration/check-in: 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM on Rally Day\n\n\n\nSafety Briefing: 10:35 AM\n\n\n\nCars leave the start: 10:45 AM\n\n\n\nLength: ~90 miles (~4 hours\, including stops)\n\n\n\nFinish: ~3:00 pm in Paradise\, Texas\, where we will take a group photo.\n\n\n\nOptional before heading home: homemade ice cream at Bless Your Mouth near Bridgeport.  \n\n\n\nRally type: Trek. Note: speed is not a factor.\n\n\n\nThere is no requirement for at least two people in each car unless you separate from the group and rely on (backup) route instructions.\n\n\n\nContact rally@texasscca.org if you have a minor child (<18) in the car\, as an SCCA Minor Waiver form will need to be signed.\n\n\n\nRally entry fee (covers insurance and preparation and administration expenses): regular SCCA Members $10 per vehicle; Weekend Members $20 per vehicle (includes membership fee).\n\n\n\nRally Master: John Poulos\n\n\n\n\nWhile same-day registration will be allowed\, we encourage you to pre-register. SUMMARY:IN: Dogwood Daze Tour Rally
DESCRIPTION:The Dogwood Daze Road Rally\, sanctioned by the SCCA Indianapolis Region\, is a time speed distance rally designed specifically for beginners\, but fun for non-beginners as well. This is a Tour-style rally that uses the Richta GPS Competitor App for timing. No tricky route instructions — just follow the instructions given to you. At each restart point you will re-zero your trip odometer and leave at the beginning of the next minute. After you leave the restart point\, the App will tell you what time you started. Simply drive a few miles per hours above the speed given in the instructions or you can add the leg time given in your route instructions to the app restart time and you will know the exact time that you need to arrive at the next control. It is quite possible for Novices to  score well\, and\, if you just want a nice drive in the country that ends with food and comradeship\, this event provides that as well. \n\n\n\n$40/car ($15 discount for SCCA members) \n\n\n\n1:00-1:30 PM   Registration (waivers and weekend member forms will be in registration packets) \n\n\n\n1:45 PM  Mandatory Safety Meeting \n\n\n\n2:00 PM + Car Number  Start of Rally \n\n\n\n5:00 PM + Car Number   Should arrive at end point  \n\n\n\nItems Needed: \n\n\n\n\nStreet legal car\n\n\n\nTwo people in the car (driver and navigator)\n\n\n\nPen/pencil/highlighter\n\n\n\nClipboard\n\n\n\nDedicated cell phone or GPS enabled tablet for checkpoint scoring\n\n\n\nOdometer/GPS or some other way to calculate your mileage\n\n\n\nCalculator might be helpful\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis is an SCCA RoadRally that requires a street legal vehicle with both a driver and a navigator in the vehicle. Additional passengers are allowed\, but there must be at least 2 individuals in the vehicle. Either (or both) the Driver and Navigator must be an SCCA member or Weekend Member.
