SUMMARY:CA: First Friday Niter Social Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:The October First Friday Niter\, coming up on October 7\, is being written by guest Rallymasters Revere Jones and Jared Leadbetter. The odometer check heads east on the 210 to Sunland. The rally travels up Big Tujunga Canyon to Angeles Forest and down Angeles Crest into La Canada-Flintridge\, where the rally then travels on and around Chevy Chase. About half of the legs have traps\, which means that about half don’t! The finish is at The Habit Burger\, 990 Town Center Drive\, La Canada-Flintridge. \n\n\n\nWe are using the Richta GPS Competitor app for timing and scoring\, with timing to the second. All checkpoints are listed in the route instructions\, with a Restart after each one. The maximum penalty for this FFN is 3 minutes (180 seconds) per leg.  Before you arrive at the start\, please download the Richta GPS Competitor app to your phone; it’s a free download for Android and Apple devices.  There is no need for additional timing equipment; your Official Time shows in the app! \n\n\n\nIs your usual rally partner not available for this FFN?  Let Jeanne know\, and she will attempt to match you up with another competitor. DESCRIPTION:You are invited to join us for a 375±mile brisk TSD (time-speed-distance) SCCA Detroit Region Divisional Tour RoadRally in northern Michigan’s Lower Peninsula. You can expect a fun and challenging mix of unpaved (80%) and paved (20%) twisty county and forest roads from smooth fast gravel roads to tight and technical single lane roads. This straightforward (no traps) rally will test your ability and endurance to pass hidden controls neither early\, nor late. First run in 1949\, POR (Press On Regardless®) has a history like no other rally. It is the oldest continuously run rally (74th running) in North America. While not a car breaker\, vehicles with low ground clearance are not recommended. Liberal use of free zones and pauses help you navigate thru rough areas on the route. SUMMARY:PA: Monopoly Redux VI GTA Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:Steel Cities Region\, SCCA (western Pennsylvania area) will host its End of Summer Showcase Festival (an ‘all things SCCA’ event) on Saturday\, August 27th\, is the Monopoly Red VI RoadRally. In addition to other SCCA activities such as an autocross\, road races\, and time trials\, there will be a road rally.  \n\n\n\nThe 50 mile\, approximately three-hour afternoon event will start and finish at the Pittsburgh International Race Complex in Wampum\, PA\, just off the Pennsylvania Turnpike Beaver Valley Exit 13\, 45 miles north of Pittsburgh\, PA. \n\n\n\nLike many SportsCar Club of America RoadRally events\, this one will use fun-to-drive paved\, public\, lightly traveled country roads. You will travel below the speed limit searching for the correct signs to move tokens around the Monopoly Game board. The winning team will be the one coming closest to the correct trip around the board. The event will wind its way through tall forests and small towns\, over streams and past large farms north and east of the start. \n\n\n\nNo rally experience or equipment is necessary but you will need a legal car\, a licensed Driver and a Navigator. The entry fee is $30 per car\, and only one member of the team needs an SCCA membership. DESCRIPTION:Neohio Region\, SCCA invites you to enter the 2022 Ohio Milk Run Rally. The 160±mile route will wind through the hills of Ohio’s Tuscarawas\, Coshocton and surrounding counties. The Milk Run name is a legacy from a motorcycle enduro that ran in the 1970’s. Competitors can expect a straightforward\, gimmick-free Time-Speed-Distance (TSD) road rally with emphasis on precise timing at well placed controls. The rally will count toward both the SCCA Great Lakes Division Rally Championship\, and the SCCA National Touring Rally Championship as a Divisional Rally. \n\n\n\nNote: All teams must enter online at Motorsportreg\, there will be no walk-in entries accepted on the day of the rally. Early entry cut-off is July 24th\, 23:59 and Registration closes at 6P on Wednesday\, July 27th and General Instructions\, Richta GPS Competitor Milk Run Rally password and Zoom meeting access info. There will be an  online Competitor Briefing and Novice Q&A at 8PM. \n\n\n\nOn-site Registration at 1030-11:15A on Saturday\, July 30th. First Car starts the rally at 1131A and will finish at approximately 530P. \n\n\n\nCompetition Classes: \n\n\n\nE – Equipment unrestricted. \n\n\n\nL – Odometer unrestricted\, and calculating device restricted only in that it may not be integrated with the odometer. \n\n\n\nG – GPS–derived odometer only\, and any calculating device (including timekeeping ‘apps’ integrated with the odometer). \n\n\n\nS – Unmodified stock odometer only. Calculating device is restricted only in that it may not be integrated with the odometer and clock. \n\n\n\nNovice – Class S entry in which neither team member has previously entered more than 5 TSD rallies. \n\n\n\nEntry Fees: \n\n\n\nSCCA Members (Driver and/or Navigator\, i.e.\, at least one full SCCA member on the team): $45.00/car before the early entry cutoff\, $55.00 after that. \n\n\n\nOthers: Add $10.00 to the above to purchase the mandated SCCA Weekend/Trial memberships for both team members. \n\n\n\nThis rally will be timed with the Richta GPS Competitor automated checkpoint system. DESCRIPTION:Come early and enjoy the games\, snacks\, and the two-level karting track at Andretti Karting\, our registration site\, before the Twin Sisters Road Rally. \n\n\n\nThis SCCA Lone Star Region RoadRally is to enjoy the farm and ranch countryside during a two-hour drive. This non-speed event is meant for auto enthusiasts as a family activity. Children are welcome at no extra charge. \n\n\n\nThe route will leave Andretti Karting to Leon Springs\, Fair Oaks\, Kendalia\, Sisterdale\, Luckenbach\, Cain City\, Grapetown\, and Bankersmith before ending at the Alamo Café across from Old Tunnel State Park. After a choice supper\, you can watch the millions of Mexican Free-tail bats and thousands of Mouse-eared bats exit the Old Tunnel for the evening of feasting on mosquitos. \n\n\n\nSeveral stretches of old payment and a few cattle guards are along this route. As well as two stretches of well-graded dirt (with few rocks). Along the way\, you will be given points of local history. \n\n\n\nSCCA events are still asked to observe COVID precautions\, so we ask that whoever attends the 8:45A Safety Briefing wear a mask. If you experience symptoms of COVID immediately before the event\, your money will be refunded. \n\n\n\nThe GOAL of the SCCA is to Have Fun with Cars!

SUMMARY:WI: Milwaukee Region 75th Anniversary Festival of Speed Rally
DESCRIPTION:Join your fellow car enthusiasts on the eve of SCCA’s Milwaukee Region 75th Anniversary Festival of Speed Weekend for this 4 hour\, 80 mile time-speed-distance road rally. You and a partner (Driver and Navigator) will be issued a set of Route Instructions that will take you on a scenic journey through the marvelous country roads in the southern Kettle Moraine Forest area of Wisconsin. This is a ‘Tour’ type rally and there are no traps or tricks – just drive\, enjoy the great roads and marvelous scenery and try to arrive at each checkpoint at precisely the right time. Checkpoints will be set up along the way to monitor how well you are following the assigned average speeds. Awards will be presented to the teams who do the best job of arriving at the checkpoints at the proper times. This is a rally designed especially for people with little or no rally experience. \n\n\n\nWe have included a tour class this year for folks who don’t wish to compete in the rally\, but still wish to come out and experience the great roads and scenery of the Kettle Moraine region with others. There will be a tour director who will guide cars through the course. To enter with a reduced fee\, simply select TOUR in class and click the box for one tour entry. \n\n\n\nArrive at 11A for registration matters\, the First Car departs at 1201P and Tour Cars depart at 1P; the first car is due to finish about 5P. \n\n\n\nEntry fees are $45.00/car\,  a minimum of 2 people per car is required\, but you may have up to 4 people per car. Tour Cost $25/car\, with no limit on people per car. There is a $5 discount for SCCA members and for members of the Hagerty Driver’s Club \n\n\n\nPre-registration is required for this event. DESCRIPTION:Dominion Drive Trek ’22 will take off on June 11th from the Dominion Raceway South area main parking lot. Through the day\, Old Dominion territory will be toured to the delight of sports and touring car enthusiasts. Along Lake Anna and up through rarely seen countryside with some amazing stops along the way\, from Thornburg to Bluemont the long way.  \n\n\n\nCar show\, lunch stop\, pass through the middle of Mount Weather property on 601\, TWA Flight 514 monument\, and on to the Twin Oaks Tavern Winery. \n\n\n\nAbout 200 miles will be covered in the 5-hour tour (no lost islands involved).  \n\n\n\nIf you would like to come explore the Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania area the night before\, there are plenty of great places to dine. There are three hotels in the immediate area of the starting point at Dominion Raceway in Thornburg\, VA. DESCRIPTION:Join your fellow RoadRally enthusiasts for this 180 mile time-speed-distance National Tour RoadRally in the beautiful Wisconsin countryside. You and your rally partner will enjoy a scenic rally adventure through the marvelous country roads north of Madison\, Wisconsin.\n\n\n\nThis rally will use the Richta GPS Checkpoint app. Contestants will download the app to their smartphone in advance of the rally. During the rally this app will use the GPS signals and automatically record your arrival time at each checkpoint and then display your score to you!!  No more waiting until the rally is over to find out how you did.\n\n\n\nA bonus feature of this Richta GPS checkpoint system is that we can provide you with many more checkpoints and more challenging checkpoint locations. Expect at least 100 checkpoints in this 180-mile rally. Contestants will need a smartphone in order to run this event. DESCRIPTION:In 2022\, in addition to rallies that we have put on regularly in recent years (e.g.\, Sweetheart Ride\, Tick-Tock\, DFW Map\, Children’s Book Run)\, the Texas Region of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) will be conducting a series of road rallies and schools.  \n\n\n\nThe Region is designing these to introduce rallying to newcomers and refresh and reinforce key concepts for our more experienced rallyists. This “Back-to-Basics” series will consist of four events of progressive challenge levels staged over several months. These will be SCCA GTA (Games\, Tours\, Adventures) Social Rallies\, about 45-60 miles and 2 ½ – 3 hours long. We will score them and present awards to the most successful. The objective is to conduct events in accordance with the SCCA RoadRally Rules\, starting with simple rules and instructions. Then each succeeding rally will introduce more advanced topics. \n\n\n\nThere will be a virtual Road Rally School\, six days before each rally\, where we will present the rules and instructions for that rally\, demonstrate “how-to\,” and go through applicable examples. Liz Witt\, Rallymaster for the four B2B rallies\, will be your lead instructor. \n\n\n\nThe tentative schedule for the Back-to-Basics (B2B) events is as follows: \n\n\n\nB2B #1 – Focus on General Instructions\, Route Instructions\, Questions• Rally School (via Zoom session): January 9th• Rally: January 15th – Did You SEE That? \n\n\n\nB2B #2 – Focus on Signs and Landmarks• Rally School (via Zoom session): March 13th• Rally: March 19th \n\n\n\nB2B#3 – Focus on Main Road Concepts• Rally School (via Zoom session): May 1st• Rally: May 7th \n\n\n\nB2B#4 – Focus on Roads and Intersections• Rally School (via Zoom session): May 29th• Rally: June 4th \n\n\n\nThe Rally Schools will be conducted via Zoom and recorded for later on-demand viewing. After each rally\, a packet of materials (General Instructions\, Route Instructions\, Question and Answer Sheet\, Explanation/Critique Sheets) will be made available. This way\, if you miss any of the rallies or schools or only become aware of our program part of the way into the year\, you can watch the recording(s) and run the rally(ies) at your convenience (not scored) to get up to speed on covered skills and concepts. \n\n\n\nThe Back-to-Basics Series will help prepare you for a “course-following” (aka\, trap) rally. SUMMARY:WI: Milwaukee Region Roads Scholar National Course Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:Join your fellow RoadRally enthusiasts for this 180 mile time-speed-distance National Course RoadRally in the beautiful Wisconsin countryside. You and your rally partner will enjoy a scenic rally adventure through the marvelous country roads west of Madison\, Wisconsin. \n\n\n\nYou’ll be tested on your ability to observe\, reason\, maintain the assigned average speeds\, and follow explicit directions. This year’s event will use both Numbered and Lettered Route Instructions. There will be a variable Main Road rule. Experienced rallyists will find this rally to be one of the easier National Course rallies of the year. However\, it is not recommended for people who have never rallied before. It would be like a first-time skier attempting a blue diamond (moderate difficulty) ski trail.\n\n\n\nPRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. \n\n\n\nHeadquarters Hotel:  Country Inn and Suites. A block of rooms with 2 queen beds has been reserved for contestants at a special rate of $75/night plus tax\, but only until May 14th.  This includes a hot breakfast buffet. Ask for ‘SCCA Car Rally’ to get this rate. \n\n\n\nSchedule: Check-in – 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday \n\n\n\nFirst Car Off – 8:31 AM  Saturday \n\n\n\nFirst Car Finished – Approx 5:30 pm \n\n\n\nCost:  $85/car for SCCA members\, $95/car if neither contestant is an SCCA member. Two people per car is required. \n\n\n\nPre-registration is required for this event. You’ll have to run it to find out.’ Norman\, sanctioned by the SCCA Steel Cities Region\, will be a Divisional GTA (Games Touring Adventure) event using the game of Monopoly\, along with answering ten questions. There will be special awards for novices!  \n\n\n\nStarting out at The Kentlee Coffee Cafe in Greensburg at 11:01 AM\, the rally will be 45± miles in length and should take about three hours to complete.
