SUMMARY:CA Cal Club First Friday Niter Social Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:Join Rallymaster Joanna Weissen for the last FFN by the Cal Club Region Santa Monica Sports Car Club as they go on hiatus. Last year’s January FFN\, the rally will be a tour (no traps) focusing on Christmas light displays\, which were spectacular\, with many lights and a few massive displays. It will likely run in  Burbank and/or Glendale and likely finish at the IHOP on Glendale Ave in Glendale.  \n\n\n\nThis rally uses the Richta GPS Competitor app for timing and scoring. The app is FREE and easy to use on any GPS-enabled smartphone. It is available on the App Store or Google Play Store or at https://richtarally.com/. There is no need for additional timing equipment or clocks—your Official Time shows in the app! Download the FREE Richta Scoreboard app\, if you want to see all the scores at the Finish. \n\n\n\nPlease try to register online at www.msreg.com/FFN012025. If that doesn’t work for you\, you can still register in person at the start of the SMSCC events. However\, it helps the organizers print adequate copies of the route instructions and confirm the numbers for the ending location. We start at the Bank of America rear lot in Mission Hills. In-person registration opens at 7:00 p.m.\, with the first car out at 8:01 p.m. There is a beginner/Richta meeting at 7:40 p.m. \n\n\n\nIs your usual rally partner not available for this FFN? It’s amazing what you can see along the routes in the daylight. They will start at the same place as the FFNs\, the Bank of America rear lot in Mission Hills. SUMMARY:NY: The Long Way Home RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:It is again time to enjoy the winter roads of the Southern Tier with the Finger Lakes Region’s 2025 Winter Rally Series. The first rally of the SCCA Finger Lakes Region Series consists of approximately 180 competitive miles using mostly unpaved roads in the New York Southern Tier. \n\n\n\nEntry fees are $45 per car for SCCA Members + $15 should you need a Weekend Membership if one team member in the car is not an SCCA member. There is a 35-car limit\, so pre-registration is recommended. Series classes are Equipped\, Limited\, Stock\, and Novice. \n\n\n\nSnow tires are recommended (all-season tires may limit your speed group eligibility). A tow rope/strap and 90 minutes of flares or one DOT triangle are required to compete. \n\n\n\nStart/Finish location: Wadsworth Grill\, 3901 Main Street\, Wadsworth\, NY\, on Route 36 South of Route 63. SUMMARY:MN: Grumpy Old Men GTA Navigational Scatter
DESCRIPTION:The SCCA Land O’ Lakes Region continues its Yucatan Safari weekend with the Grumpy Old Men National GTA RoadRally\,  a navigational scatter. Navigational Scatters were created to provide a rally challenge without the burden of staying on time. We track your progress using the MiRally transponders. Your course is converted to driving distance via GPS and Google Maps\, and this distance is how you will be scored. \n\n\n\nThe rally will be mainly in Wabasha County\, home of the Grumpy Old Men movies. It’s too bad the event isn’t in February when you could attend the Grumpy Old Men Festival. The National Eagle Center is also in Wabasha. \n\n\n\nThere are several locations to visit. Plot the shortest route that takes you to the specified number of them. Although a map has been provided\, you may also use any device you want to aid you\, including online mapping. Google Maps is helpful but does not always give the shortest route. The route between the points offers many options. \n\n\n\nYour team will have three hours and 20 minutes from the time you check in until the time you check in at the endpoint. This includes some extra time in case you make mistakes along the way. Your score is the total miles from start to end. \n\n\n\nThere is a 30-mile penalty for each waypoint you miss that is less than the specified number. So\, if we say you must go through 15 of 20\, you are penalized for only doing 14.  \n\n\n\nRegistration is $40 per vehicle\, and a Weekend Membership is available if neither crew member is an SCCA member. SUMMARY:GA: SEDiv Convention RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:The SCCA Buccaneer Region is excited to announce our latest road rally event and our first 2025 — Road Rally Event #1\, which will be held at the SEDiv Annual Convention. Each car will drive on paved public roads using a set of predefined route instructions through various checkpoints using the Richta GPS Checkpoint app\, a free app downloaded to your smart device from the Apple Store or GooglePlay.  \n\n\n\nParticipants will be scored based on their arrival time at each defined checkpoint. We will start at the conference hotel\, where cars depart 1 minute apart. We will also finish at the conference hotel\, where scoring and lunch will be available (you are responsible for purchasing your food; we encourage everyone to eat and support the location).  \n\n\n\nAre you new to road rallies or unsure what this is all about? Check out this (somewhat lengthy but humorous) video explanation.  \n\n\n\nAny car that meets all Georgia state laws and is insured to meet the state’s minimum insurance requirements is allowed. A valid driver’s license and proof of insurance will be required at on-site registration. Each car is allowed as many people as there are seat belts in the vehicle\, but each car is suggested to have at least two people: a Driver and a Navigator. There will be a starting location\, five (5) unmanned checkpoints\, followed by a sixth checkpoint at the finishing location. Team numbers will be assigned but the starting order will be determined randomly. \n\n\n\nThree classes for this rally are available: Stock\, Limited\, and Seat of Your Pants.
