SUMMARY:WI: Milwaukee Region Roads Scholar National Course Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:Join your fellow RoadRally enthusiasts for this 180 mile time-speed-distance National Course RoadRally in the beautiful Wisconsin countryside. You and your rally partner will enjoy a scenic rally adventure through the marvelous country roads west of Madison\, Wisconsin. \n\n\n\nYou’ll be tested on your ability to observe\, reason\, maintain the assigned average speeds\, and follow explicit directions. This year’s event will use both Numbered and Lettered Route Instructions. There will be a variable Main Road rule. Experienced rallyists will find this rally to be one of the easier National Course rallies of the year. However\, it is not recommended for people who have never rallied before. It would be like a first-time skier attempting a blue diamond (moderate difficulty) ski trail.\n\n\n\nPRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. \n\n\n\nHeadquarters Hotel:  Country Inn and Suites. A block of rooms with 2 queen beds has been reserved for contestants at a special rate of $75/night plus tax\, but only until May 14th.  This includes a hot breakfast buffet. Ask for ‘SCCA Car Rally’ to get this rate. \n\n\n\nSchedule: Check-in – 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday \n\n\n\nFirst Car Off – 8:31 AM  Saturday \n\n\n\nFirst Car Finished – Approx 5:30 pm \n\n\n\nCost:  $85/car for SCCA members\, $95/car if neither contestant is an SCCA member. Two people per car is required. \n\n\n\nPre-registration is required for this event. SUMMARY:TX: Back-to-Basics RoadRally Series #4 - Roads and Intersections
DESCRIPTION:In 2022\, in addition to rallies that we have put on regularly in recent years (e.g.\, Sweetheart Ride\, Tick-Tock\, DFW Map\, Children’s Book Run)\, the Texas Region of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) will be conducting a series of road rallies and schools.  \n\n\n\nThe Region is designing these to introduce rallying to newcomers and refresh and reinforce key concepts for our more experienced rallyists. This “Back-to-Basics” series will consist of four events of progressive challenge levels staged over several months. These will be SCCA GTA (Games\, Tours\, Adventures) Social Rallies\, about 45-60 miles and 2 ½ – 3 hours long. We will score them and present awards to the most successful. The objective is to conduct events in accordance with the SCCA RoadRally Rules\, starting with simple rules and instructions. Then each succeeding rally will introduce more advanced topics. \n\n\n\nThere will be a virtual Road Rally School\, six days before each rally\, where we will present the rules and instructions for that rally\, demonstrate “how-to\,” and go through applicable examples. Liz Witt\, Rallymaster for the four B2B rallies\, will be your lead instructor. \n\n\n\nThe tentative schedule for the Back-to-Basics (B2B) events is as follows: \n\n\n\nB2B #1 – Focus on General Instructions\, Route Instructions\, Questions• Rally School (via Zoom session): January 9th• Rally: January 15th – Did You SEE That? \n\n\n\nB2B #2 – Focus on Signs and Landmarks• Rally School (via Zoom session): March 13th• Rally: March 19th \n\n\n\nB2B#3 – Focus on Main Road Concepts• Rally School (via Zoom session): May 1st• Rally: May 7th \n\n\n\nB2B#4 – Focus on Roads and Intersections• Rally School (via Zoom session): May 29th• Rally: June 4th \n\n\n\nThe Rally Schools will be conducted via Zoom and recorded for later on-demand viewing. After each rally\, a packet of materials (General Instructions\, Route Instructions\, Question and Answer Sheet\, Explanation/Critique Sheets) will be made available. This way\, if you miss any of the rallies or schools or only become aware of our program part of the way into the year\, you can watch the recording(s) and run the rally(ies) at your convenience (not scored) to get up to speed on covered skills and concepts. \n\n\n\nThe Back-to-Basics Series will help prepare you for a “course-following” (aka\, trap) rally. SUMMARY:WI: Roads Scamper National Tour Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:Join your fellow RoadRally enthusiasts for this 180 mile time-speed-distance National Tour RoadRally in the beautiful Wisconsin countryside. You and your rally partner will enjoy a scenic rally adventure through the marvelous country roads north of Madison\, Wisconsin.\n\n\n\nThis rally will use the Richta GPS Checkpoint app. Contestants will download the app to their smartphone in advance of the rally. During the rally this app will use the GPS signals and automatically record your arrival time at each checkpoint and then display your score to you!!  No more waiting until the rally is over to find out how you did.\n\n\n\nA bonus feature of this Richta GPS checkpoint system is that we can provide you with many more checkpoints and more challenging checkpoint locations. Expect at least 100 checkpoints in this 180-mile rally. Contestants will need a smartphone in order to run this event. SUMMARY:DC: Dominion Drive Trek '22
DESCRIPTION:Dominion Drive Trek ’22 will take off on June 11th from the Dominion Raceway South area main parking lot. Through the day\, Old Dominion territory will be toured to the delight of sports and touring car enthusiasts. Along Lake Anna and up through rarely seen countryside with some amazing stops along the way\, from Thornburg to Bluemont the long way.  \n\n\n\nCar show\, lunch stop\, pass through the middle of Mount Weather property on 601\, TWA Flight 514 monument\, and on to the Twin Oaks Tavern Winery. \n\n\n\nAbout 200 miles will be covered in the 5-hour tour (no lost islands involved).  \n\n\n\nIf you would like to come explore the Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania area the night before\, there are plenty of great places to dine. There are three hotels in the immediate area of the starting point at Dominion Raceway in Thornburg\, VA. Best Western\, Holiday Inn Express\, and Tru by Hilton.   \n\n\n\nRain or shine we roll out on the adventure at 9A\, some come join the SCCA Washington DC Region. \n\n\n\nAdditional details and registration will be available through Motorsportreg.com.
