SUMMARY:NY: Oneonta Rotary Club Road Rally Scavenger Hunt
DESCRIPTION:The Oneonta Rotary Club has borrowed a clever fundraising idea that will keep people engaged in a fun activity this Sunday as Rotary holds their first Road Rally Scavenger Hunt Fundraiser on Sunday\, October 18th. \n\n\n\nCars must cross the finish line at the Quality Inn by 4:30 p.m. that day to be eligible for prizes. Teams will be judged on a combination of time\, mileage\, number of clues correctly answered and group photos. All teams are eligible for the Random Draw prize. Teams that dress in costume and/or decorate their cars are eligible to win a Spirit Award. Winners will be announced at the club meeting on October 22 and will be notified by phone. \n\n\n\nPrize winners receive a gas card or other automotive-themed gift certificate or item and the Oneonta Rotary Club will donate a mini-grant in your honor\, to the local community organization of your choice\, selected from the following: Catholic Charities Caring Connections\, Family Services Association\, Opportunities for Otsego Violence Intervention Program\, St. James Feeding Ministries which includes the Lord’s Table and the Loaves and Fishes Pantry\, St. Mary’s Church Food Pantry\, The Salvation Army Food Bank and Saturday’s Bread. Mini-grants range from $50 to $500. \n\n\n\nCost for the Road Rally is $25 for 18 years of age and older; $10 for 12-17; and free for under 12. Each team must consist of at least two adults. Participants will also have the option of purchasing a take home dinner from the Quality Inn which will donate 50% of sales to the Oneonta Rotary Club. \n\n\n\nProceeds from the event benefit the work of the Oneonta Rotary Club. Please note that to make sure that everyone has an enjoyable and safe experience\, all participants must wear a mask and practice appropriate social distancing when out of their vehicles.

DESCRIPTION:WATKINS GLEN\, NY – The Toyota Green Grand Prix\, a showcase of motoring technology that aims for a cleaner environment\, is returning to the famed Watkins Glen International race course on Thursday\, October 22nd\, 2020.The single-day event will feature a fuel-efficiency competition for pre-registered drivers of alternate-fueled vehicles\, hybrids and traditional gasoline-powered and diesel-powered vehicles. Individuals\, colleges and universities\, car clubs and manufacturers are all invited to participate.Entries in the rallies are now being accepted through the Toyota Green Grand Prix website.The diversity of the day’s activities emphasizes the breadth of the goals of the Green Grand Prix. “The mission of the Toyota Green Grand Prix is educational\, to promote innovation in sustainable transportation technologies\,” said Bob Gillespie\, chairman of the Green Grand PrixCorp.\, a non-profit organization. “We are proud that our event\, in its twelthth year\, attracts students from universities\, colleges and high schools. We want the Green Grand Prix to be a means of encouraging technology students to stay in the Northeast to help move our region to become a center for clean energy.”The Toyota Green Grand Prix’s rallies are sanctioned by the SCCA will offer up the challenges and excitement of driving on the race track and driving on open roads. \n\n\n\nThe first event of the day will be the Doris Bovee Memorial Road Rally. This is a Time-Speed-Distance event held on scenic public roads of the Finger Lakes Region. Drivers and navigators will be scored on their ability to follow a challenging course at precise legal speeds. A 100-mile\, fuel economy event on the 2.45 mile WGI short track will follow in the afternoon. This is essentially the same configuration as the original 1957 track. The rallies are open to nearly all classes of road vehicles. The afternoon fuel economy event will include the Prius Challenge\, with special categories of competition for all generations of Toyota Prius. A class for Exhibition category vehicles will also be included. \n\n\n\nMany hybrids\, plug-in hybrids and full electric vehicles are expected.The Doris Bovee Foundation is one of the Green Grand Prix’s key supporters\, and the morning event is named in the honor of Doris Bovee\, who was a well-known area environmentalist and taught for many years in the Corning-Painted Post (NY) school district .She was known for her love of plants and birds. Ms. Bovee was also involved with SCCA road rallies and was part of the Glen Region SCCA at its inception. The rallies are sponsored by the Glen Region Sports Car Club of America and are the only official SCCA road rallies of their kind in the nation. Other important supporters of the event are Corning Enterprises of Corning\, NY and the Central New York Clean Cities Coalition based in Rochester\, NY.

SUMMARY:WI: Kettle Moraine Colors Road Rallye
DESCRIPTION:Join your fellow car enthusiasts for this five hour\, 110-mile time-speed-distance road rally. You and a partner (Driver and Navigator) will be issued a set of Route Instructions that will take you on a scenic journey through the marvelous country roads in the southern Kettle Moraine Forest area of Wisconsin. The Kettle Moraine Colors Road Rallye\, sanctioned by the SCCA Milwaukee Region is a ‘Tour’ type rally and there are no traps or tricks – just drive\, enjoy the great roads and marvelous scenery and try to arrive at each checkpoint at precisely the right time. Checkpoints will be set up along the way to monitor how well you are following the assigned average speeds. Awards will be presented to the teams who do the best job of arriving at the checkpoints at the proper times. This is a rally designed especially for people with little or no rally experience. \n\n\n\nStart and finish location:  Nagawaukee Shopping Center\, just north of I-94 at the HWY 83 exit\, Delafield. \n\n\n\nSchedule: Check-in opens at 9:00 AM. The first car departs at 11:01 AM\, and we anticipate the first car finished at approximately 4:15 PM. \n\n\n\nCost:  $40.00/car\, a minimum of two people per car is required\, but you may have up to four people per car. \n\n\n\nPre-registration is required for this event. General Instructions that explain more details about how the rally works will be emailed to all registered contestants 2 weeks prior to the event. \n\n\n\nIMPORTANT:  This event uses automatic scoring and GPS checkpoints. You will be timed automatically as your car passes the checkpoint location and your score will be immediately displayed. Contestants need to use a smartphone during the rally\, running the Richta competitor app. Please download the app from the Google Playstore (Android) or Apple Store (Apple).  Please read the Appendix of the General Instructions for further details. \n\n\n\nSound interesting? SUMMARY:NJ: Fall Foliage Divisional Tour Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:The South Jersey Region will be holding three Time-Speed-Distance (TSD) rallies this year. All three rallies will be SCCA Divisional Tour Rallies. The instructions will be easy to follow. Contestants will need to have a  smartphone (or tablet) and have the Competitor – Richta GPS Checkpoints  App downloaded before Registration; it is a free download and available for both Apple and Android.  \n\n\n\n Vehicles will be timed at numerous checkpoint locations on the course by use of the Rallymaster – Richta GPS Checkpoints App. Teams will be scored on how close they arrive at their perfect calculated official time at the checkpoints.   \n\n\n\nThe start and finish of the rallies are at Carolina Blue Restaurant. Sign in from 9:30 am to 10:15 am. Awards will be presented to the Driver and Navigator\, who get the best total score for the day in several categories.   \n\n\n\nSigning up before the day of the rally is highly advisable and very important. There is a limit of 30 cars entered for each event\, and the Rallymaster needs to have ample Route Instructions printed for each Team.
