SUMMARY:CA Cal Club First Friday Niter Social Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:Join Rallymaster Joanna Weissen for the last FFN by the Cal Club Region Santa Monica Sports Car Club as they go on hiatus. Last year’s January FFN\, the rally will be a tour (no traps) focusing on Christmas light displays\, which were spectacular\, with many lights and a few massive displays. It will likely run in  Burbank and/or Glendale and likely finish at the IHOP on Glendale Ave in Glendale.  \n\n\n\nThis rally uses the Richta GPS Competitor app for timing and scoring. The app is FREE and easy to use on any GPS-enabled smartphone. It is available on the App Store or Google Play Store or at https://richtarally.com/. There is no need for additional timing equipment or clocks—your Official Time shows in the app! Download the FREE Richta Scoreboard app\, if you want to see all the scores at the Finish. \n\n\n\nPlease try to register online at www.msreg.com/FFN012025. If that doesn’t work for you\, you can still register in person at the start of the SMSCC events. However\, it helps the organizers print adequate copies of the route instructions and confirm the numbers for the ending location. We start at the Bank of America rear lot in Mission Hills. DESCRIPTION:It is again time to enjoy the winter roads of the Southern Tier with the Finger Lakes Region’s 2025 Winter Rally Series. The first rally of the SCCA Finger Lakes Region Series consists of approximately 180 competitive miles using mostly unpaved roads in the New York Southern Tier. \n\n\n\nEntry fees are $45 per car for SCCA Members + $15 should you need a Weekend Membership if one team member in the car is not an SCCA member. There is a 35-car limit\, so pre-registration is recommended. Series classes are Equipped\, Limited\, Stock\, and Novice. \n\n\n\nSnow tires are recommended (all-season tires may limit your speed group eligibility). SUMMARY:MN: Grumpy Old Men GTA Navigational Scatter
DESCRIPTION:The SCCA Land O’ Lakes Region continues its Yucatan Safari weekend with the Grumpy Old Men National GTA RoadRally\,  a navigational scatter. Navigational Scatters were created to provide a rally challenge without the burden of staying on time. We track your progress using the MiRally transponders. Your course is converted to driving distance via GPS and Google Maps\, and this distance is how you will be scored. \n\n\n\nThe rally will be mainly in Wabasha County\, home of the Grumpy Old Men movies. It’s too bad the event isn’t in February when you could attend the Grumpy Old Men Festival. The National Eagle Center is also in Wabasha. \n\n\n\nThere are several locations to visit. Plot the shortest route that takes you to the specified number of them. Although a map has been provided\, you may also use any device you want to aid you\, including online mapping. Google Maps is helpful but does not always give the shortest route. The route between the points offers many options. \n\n\n\nYour team will have three hours and 20 minutes from the time you check in until the time you check in at the endpoint. This includes some extra time in case you make mistakes along the way. Your score is the total miles from start to end. \n\n\n\nThere is a 30-mile penalty for each waypoint you miss that is less than the specified number. So\, if we say you must go through 15 of 20\, you are penalized for only doing 14.  \n\n\n\nRegistration is $40 per vehicle\, and a Weekend Membership is available if neither crew member is an SCCA member. SUMMARY:GA: SEDiv Convention RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:The SCCA Buccaneer Region is excited to announce our latest road rally event and our first 2025 — Road Rally Event #1\, which will be held at the SEDiv Annual Convention. Each car will drive on paved public roads using a set of predefined route instructions through various checkpoints using the Richta GPS Checkpoint app\, a free app downloaded to your smart device from the Apple Store or GooglePlay.  \n\n\n\nParticipants will be scored based on their arrival time at each defined checkpoint. We will start at the conference hotel\, where cars depart 1 minute apart. We will also finish at the conference hotel\, where scoring and lunch will be available (you are responsible for purchasing your food; we encourage everyone to eat and support the location).  \n\n\n\nAre you new to road rallies or unsure what this is all about? Check out this (somewhat lengthy but humorous) video explanation.  \n\n\n\nAny car that meets all Georgia state laws and is insured to meet the state’s minimum insurance requirements is allowed. A valid driver’s license and proof of insurance will be required at on-site registration. Each car is allowed as many people as there are seat belts in the vehicle\, but each car is suggested to have at least two people: a Driver and a Navigator. There will be a starting location\, five (5) unmanned checkpoints\, followed by a sixth checkpoint at the finishing location. Team numbers will be assigned but the starting order will be determined randomly. \n\n\n\nThree classes for this rally are available: Stock\, Limited\, and Seat of Your Pants. SUMMARY:OH: Ohio Winter RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:Neohio Region\, SCCA invites you to enter the 2025 Ohio Winter Rally (OWR) on February 1! This annual hivernal tour of the Lake Erie “snowbelt” counties of far northeastern Ohio dates back to at least 1966. It was one of the core events of the long-lamented Ohio Rally Championship (ORC) series. \n\n\n\nCompetitors can expect an absolutely straightforward\, gimmick-free Time-Speed-Distance (TSD) road rally\, with an emphasis on precise timing at well-placed controls. Columnar “tulip” style route instructions\, with Official Mileages for all action points (similar to a stage rally routebook)\, will be used. The ~165-mile route will wind through Ohio’s Geauga\, Ashtabula\, and surrounding counties. \n\n\n\nPrevailing road and weather conditions will dictate the rally’s difficulty. Competitors should come prepared to spend extended periods outside in severe winter conditions.  \n\n\n\nTo help teams with limited prior timekeeping experience stay on schedule and to mitigate the possibility of “double jeopardy” penalties from carrying a timing error through multiple controls\, parenthetical perfect cumulative leg times will be provided at all speed change locations. This will be done through the Richta GPS Checkpoints app\, available as a free download for your smart device. \n\n\n\nRegistration and more information are available on motorsportreg.com. However\, it is important to note that there will be no on-site registration\, and online registration closes on Wednesday\, January 29th. \n\n\n\nThe rally will count toward both the SCCA Great Lakes Division (GLD) Rally Championship and the SCCA National Touring Rally (NTR) Championship (Divisional Rally).

DESCRIPTION:If you love spirited driving on backroads\, our dual-rally weekend with the Flamethrower Road Rally and Alligator Slide is for you! Here are two great winter rallies in one weekend; you can run these rallies in your street car with no special modifications. Grab a friend\, and let’s go! \n\n\n\nFlamethrower Rally is a brisk Regularity (TSD) Rally that invites you to compete from Red Wing to Winona on some of Minnesota’s best driving roads. The course takes advantage of the elevation changes\, natural twisty gravel backroads\, and challenging winter conditions in the valleys flowing into the Mississippi River. Road conditions can range from frozen gravel to snow and even some ice. \n\n\n\nThis year\, we will also enjoy several very twisty single-lane minimum-maintenance roads! No ground clearance issues were found while prerunning with a stock economy car. “Flamethrower” refers to Lucas Flamethrower’s driving lights because much of this rally will be held at dusk and nighttime! \n\n\n\nWhen both are out rallying\, they are rivals\, yet Rallymaster Tyler Linner shares this weekend with Ted Rurup and the Alligator Slide Rally\, which runs on Sunday\, February 23rd. The course pits you against the same fun and challenging driving weather conditions in Flamethrower\, but includes a mix of paved & gravel roads sure to keep you on your toes! You may expect to encounter sandy areas\, snow\, and possibly some ice. “Alligator Slide” refers to a classic driftless-area rally road that hasn’t been run in many years- until now! \n\n\n\nWhen both are out rallying\, they are rivals\, yet Rallymaster Ted Rurup is sharing this weekend with Tyler Linner and the Flamethrower Road Rally\, which runs on Saturday\, February 22nd. Registration for both events and more information about the rallies is available at www.motorsportreg.com. \n\n\n\nWhen posting this event\, the 200-mile Alligator Slide is anticipated to be ± six hours\, and its starting time was not established.
