SUMMARY:TX: Tick Tock Rally
DESCRIPTION:You’re invited to the Tick Tock Rally\, an SCCA Regional Time-Speed-Distance (TSD) Tour Rally on scenic paved backroads of Denton County. All entrants are welcome. No prior rally experience is necessary—a precision driving event at fun speeds. Course following is easy with GPS mileage on every turn. We assign the speeds to drive. The object is to arrive at checkpoints along the route at the correct time. We score you on how close to the perfect time you arrive at checkpoint locations. No calculations are necessary. Come on out and join the SCCA Texas Region! \n\n\n\nWe will send you information on the app after you pre-register on MotorsportReg. There are 67 timing checkpoints in about 81 miles of the rally route. This year’s rally will consist of four different kinds of checkpoints\, so you can experience various flavors of TSD Tour rallying.      \n\n\n\nWe plan to conduct a Rally School via Zoom (currently scheduled for August 6th) to help prepare for the rally (for details and to pre-register for the School\, go to http://msreg.com/TTR23RSmsr). We will post a YouTube video recording for those who can’t join the live session. We encourage you to attend the School. \n\n\n\n\nStarting Place:  Shell Station\, 1306 US-380 Bus\, Decatur\, TX 76234. (on the east side of Decatur at the intersection of US 380 and Business 380)\n\n\n\nRegistration: 9:45 am to 10:15 am on Rally Day\n\n\n\nEntrant orientation/safety briefing: 10:30 am\n\n\n\nCars leave the start:  11:00 pm plus your car number\n\n\n\nLength: approx. 81 miles (~3.5 hours); includes a 25-minute rest break at Shell Station\n\n\n\nFinish: Ritzy B’s Smokehouse & Grill (BAR-B-Q)\, where we will gather for a beverage or meal\, announcements\, and awards\n\n\n\nRally type: TSD Tour. A smartphone and a clipboard and pencil are all you need—no timing calculations needed (unless in Calculating Class – see below).\n\n\n\nRoute: paved roads in Wise County\, mostly in and around the LBJ National Grasslands\n\n\n\nVehicles: Sports Cars\, Family Cars\, Classic Cars\, Antiques\, anything with four wheels that’s street-legal is OK in this Rally. SUMMARY:TX: San Antonio 2023 Historic Tour RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:San Antonio has had more battles fought within its city limits than any other town in North America. These battles occurred while San Antonio was under the jurisdiction of Spain\, the Republic of Mexico\, The Republic of Texas\, and the Confederate States of America\, not to mention the United States. This Road Rally will take you to the approximate location of each site. However\, the exact location of some of the sites is unknown\, and other sites were running battles that ranged over several miles. If you want a more detailed investigation of any site\, you are encouraged to revisit any site on your own and at your convenience—the oldest two sites date from 1813\, and the youngest one from the 1870s. \n\n\n\nThis is a non-speed social Road Rally whose route will be along city streets\, and speed bumps may be an issue for some cars. We will start on the west side of San Antonio\, proceed to the far south side\, and then complete our tour just north of downtown. It should take 90 minutes and two hours for this RoadRally as you learn about the history of San Antonio. Questions may be asked along the route\, but awards are not based on questions or a car’s finish position. This RoadRally is meant to be a fun learning event and a social outing where all participants will vote on awards at our final destination. \n\n\n\nOn the event day\, Saturday\, 12 August 2023\, participants will meet at the west side of the Walmart Superstore parking lot in San Antonio. Registration will be from 1:00 to 2:00\, with a safety briefing at 1:45. After the safety briefing\, cars will be released for the route which takes place on city streets. Our destination is The Longhorn Cafe at 1003 Tittiman Road in San Antonio.

DESCRIPTION:Highway Robbery\, an SCCA National RoadRally Course Championship Rally\, will run on Saturday\, August 19th. It’s a course rally that will test your ability to stay on course and on time. The rally will run primarily in San Bernardino County. There will be no absence of the sign traps and no lettered instructions. There will be ITIS (If There Is Such) instructions and a sign Aristotle (as per SMSCC Generals). There will be variable main road determinants\, but no more than four at any time (often only two). In fact\, you can run Highway Robbery using the SMSCC General Instructions with a short addendum instead of the RRRs if you want to. These are mostly the same generals we used on previous Highway Robberies. Jeanne English\, Rallymaster\, expects most contestants to do most legs correctly.

DESCRIPTION:The SCCA San Francisco Region is returning to the SCCA National Course RoadRally Championship with its Golden West 2023 Road Rally on August 26th and Gold Rush National Tour Rally on Sunday\, August 27th. The Entry Fee for SCCA Members is $90 for each rally or $170 for the weekend. An SCCA Weekend Membership is available for an additional $15\, as may be needed by a team. All registrations will be handled through MotorsportsReg. General Instructions will be emailed on August 19th\, and all entries must be received by August 21st. \n\n\n\nAs of April 20th\, the tentative schedule: \n\n\n\nRegistration at Headquarters: Friday\, August 25th\, 5:00-7:30 PM \n\n\n\nSaturday Schedule is for Car #1 to receive the Route Instructions at 8:01 AM with an 8:30 AM departure. Teams will gather at Skipolini’s Pizza\, Folsom\, CA\, ±4:45 PM. \n\n\n\nThe Golden West 2023 National Course Rally will be a scenic 190-mile rally through the foothills and Mother Lode Mining Areas southeast of Sacramento. It will be a challenging event designed for experienced rallyists familiar with SCCA RoadRally Rules and will use both Lettered and Numbered instructions and changing MRDs (Main Road Determinants). Yet the course is also easy to follow for a Novice teams with all paved roads and no special equipment or math skills required.  \n\n\n\nRallymaster Andy Stocker encourages rallyists to compete in the two National Championship RoadRally events by Cal Club Region and the Santa Monica Sports Car Club the prior weekend\, August 19th and 20th\, and then spend several days heading north along the amazing California coastline. Visit places like the Getty Museum\, Santa Barbara\, Hearst’s Castle\, Big Sur\, Carmel\, Monterey Bay Aquarium\, Santa Cruz\, Bodega Bay\, Napa Valley Wineries\, and more! SUMMARY:CA: Hot August Night Rally
DESCRIPTION:All roads look different after sunset. Driving a night rally is like stepping into a parallel universe\, defined only by the route instructions\, odometer\, and headlights. Please join the Redwood Region PCA for our annual night rally and experience rallying in an alternate\, dark reality. The Hot August Night is a Monte Carlo-style rally. \n\n\n\nThere will be no onsite registration\, so head over to MotorsportReg for more information and to register. Entry fees are $25 for PCA Members and $30 for non-PCA. \n\n\n\nPCA membership is not required\, and all cars are welcome. There are no experience or equipment-based classes. A 13 or older navigator is required\, and additional occupants are always welcome. \n\n\n\nAll roads are paved and in good condition. The route will be well-defined\, with miles to each turn and a diagram of each intersection. The exact location of each checkpoint\, and the time you are due\, will be included in your route instructions. You will use the free Competitor Richta GPS Competitor app on your smartphone\, which includes the official rally time. Simply pass the checkpoint at your assigned time for a zero!

SUMMARY:CA: Gold Rush National Tour Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:The SCCA San Francisco Region is returning to the SCCA National Tour RoadRally Championship with its Gold Rush National Tour Rally on August 27th\, a day after Golden West 2023 Road Rally\, a National Course RoadRally Championship event. The Entry Fee for SCCA Members is $90 for each rally or $170 for the weekend. An SCCA Weekend Membership is available for an additional $15\, as may be needed by a team. All registrations will be handled through MotorsportsReg. General Instructions will be emailed on August 19th\, and all entries must be received by August 21st. \n\n\n\nAs of April 20th\, the tentative schedule: Registration at Headquarters: Friday\, August 25th\, 5:00-7:30 PM \n\n\n\nThe Gold Rush National Tour Rally\, by Rallymaster Stu Helfer\, will be a low-pressure\, low-scoring touring event through southern Sacramento and San Joaquin Counties—an easy-to-follow drive with mileages at most route instructions and many GPS scoring opportunities. \n\n\n\nRallymaster Andy Stocker encourages rallyists to compete in the two National Championship RoadRally events by Cal Club Region and the Santa Monica Sports Car Club the prior weekend\, August 19th and 20th\, and then spend several days heading north along the amazing California coastline. Visit places like the Getty Museum\, Santa Barbara\, Hearst’s Castle\, Big Sur\, Carmel\, Monterey Bay Aquarium\, Santa Cruz\, Bodega Bay\, Napa Valley Wineries\, and more! Then finish with the SCCA San Francisco Region’s two Sacramento rallies – Golden West 2023 National Course Rally and the Gold Rush National Tour Rally. \n\n\n\nEntrants must have the Richta GPS Competitor App installed on their phones (available for free for iOS/Android)\, as the event will use the Richta GPS Competitor App for scoring. \n\n\n\nStay tuned for more details!
