SUMMARY:OR: CSCC March Rally
DESCRIPTION:Cascade Sports Car Club’s Road Rally program (aka Cascade Geargrinders) offers beginner-friendly time-speed-distance road rallies\, lasting three to four hours\, starting and ending in the Portland area. These events are open to everyone – club members and non-members\, all types of vehicles. Road rally is a game you play while going for a drive in the country. Play the game that takes you places. Season Flyer \n\n\n\nThe Cascade Geargrinders Saturday Road Rally Series kicks into gear on March 18. The March rally is the first of six in the Series. Teams who run three or more of the six rallies are eligible for Series Awards. There will be a Zoom Rally School 7 PM Friday evening. Registration and more information are available here at MotorsportReg. \n\n\n\nThe March 18 rally starts in northwest Portland and ends in Scappoose. The route is about 90 miles and takes about 3 1/2 hours to complete. Expect roads less traveled\, with some twisty bits.  \n\n\n\nEntry fee: $20 per car for CSCC members (either driver or navigator is a Cascade member)$30 per car for non-members  Members save more with a Series Pass or Season Ticket \n\n\n\nSchedule: March 18First car out: 10:01 am First car arrives at the finish (approx.): 1:30 pm Results emailed: after all cars finish Zoom rally debrief: 7 pm Entry requires a street-legal vehicle\, a licensed and insured driver\, a navigator\, and a smart device (e.g.\, cell phone or tablet) running the Competitor Richta GPS Checkpoints app. \n\n\n\nFrom CRRwUs 221101 – Save the date\, and we’ll have more details as they become available! SUMMARY:TX: Clear Blue Sky Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:The Texas Region of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) cordially invites all fellow car enthusiasts to a fun Rally on the back roads of Collin and Grayson counties on the Clear Blue Sky Road Rally. All are welcome and no prior rally experience is required. \n\n\n\nThis will be a photo rally. We use photos to identify intersections where you must execute an instruction to follow the course. We also identify interesting objects along the route from photos. Course following will be easy. All photo places have an in-case-you-miss-it option. Photo instructions have options. Score by selecting the correct option\, as well as by identifying which photos you see and in what order. \n\n\n\nA short virtual Rally School on Sunday\, March 19th will go over the rules and instructions for this rally (for details and to pre-register for the School\, go to http://msreg.com/CBS23RSmsr ). SUMMARY:CA: Ron Dunlop Trophy Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:The Ron Dunlop Trophy Rally is an SCCA Regional Tour Rally sponsored by the Into the Night Rally Team. Non-SCCA members are welcome. Meet us at Starbucks at 7030 Market Place Drive\, Goleta\, CA. Registration opens at 12 noon.  First car out at 2:01 pm. Event runs rain or shine. All licensed and insured vehicles are welcome. \n\n\n\n\nThe event is beginner-friendly with simple\, sequential instructions. Target times and Official Mileages are given to all Checkpoints. Entry fee is $65 per car with a $10 discount for SCCA members.Scoring will be using the Richta Competitor GPS app.  This app is FREE and easy to use on any GPS-enabled smartphone or other device.  Go to the App Store or Google Play Store or  https://richtarally.com/ and download it. There is no need for additional timing equipment; your Official Time shows in the app! \n\n\n\nThis is a 5 hour event and finishes in Ventura\, CA. SUMMARY:MN: Minnesota Valley Winter Rally
DESCRIPTION:The course for this SCCA Land o’ Lakes Region is mostly unpaved roads traversing the Minnesota River Valley. By late March the roads could be dry\, mud\, snow or any combination. Be prepared. \n\n\n\nSunset at 7:32 PM so part of the Minnesota Valley Winter Rally will be at night but mostly daylight. External night lighting will not be required but it would’t hurt on older cars\, interior lights will be very useful.  \n\n\n\nWe advise bringing winter gear (boots\, hat\, gloves\, etc) and a blanket in case you have car trouble. A small shovel or two would be a good idea if it is still snowy. \n\n\n\nPhilosophy  \n\n\n\nThis event will not have nearly as many timing points (TP) as others we have done. We have located the TP at traditional locations used when we had to have humans work. We have thrown in a few extra at places we always wanted to put one as well. The first section we are calling the prairie stage. It’s one long stage of about 25 miles with no links. The terrain is rather flat with the interest coming via many 90 degree turns followed by a TP. From there we head down to the Minnesota River starting with the famous Salisbury Hill control before ending the first part in Henderson where you can exchange stories at the Shell station. \n\n\n\nFrom there we follow the traditional course through the tributary valleys. After a brief run up the Minnesota River Scenic Byway before one last stage before ending at Sticks. \n\n\n\nMVWR uses the MiRally GPS timing and scoring system. The advantage being contestants get to use the Rabbit Rally Digital Roadbook and rally computer on their smartphone and or tablet. You should enter the event in class G as E\, L & S are legacy classes for people using old equipment and timkeeping methods. \n\n\n\nWe use the Telegram app of group communications. Telegram invite link \n\n\n\nSchedule  \n\n\n\nSunday March 19: Roadbooks and specific regulations emailed.. \n\n\n\nSaturday March 25 \n\n\n\n3-5:15 PM Registration\, timecards\, SmartControl and newbie training at Stick’s Tavern \n\n\n\n5:15 PM Contestants Meeting\, We will go over any last minute information regarding the course and conditions. \n\n\n\n5:31 PM Car One departs. \n\n\n\n8:30 PM or sooner Car one arrives at the end point.  \n\n\n\nEvent requirements\n\n\n\nYou are responsible for insuring the following are in order:Headlights (high and low beams) and parking lightsTaillights and brake lightsHorn\, windshield wipers and directional signalsRear-view mirrorFoot brakes and parking brakeTires (inspect for condition of sidewalls as well as tread)Seat belts\, securely installed for the driver and navigatorSafety triangle (optional)First Aid Kit (optional)Tow Rope (optional)Fire Extinguisher (optional)
