SUMMARY:TX: Let's Meet at Waco Trek Rally
DESCRIPTION:The Texas Region of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) invites all fellow car enthusiasts to this Trek rally down to Waco. A Trek is a non-competitive driving event on scenic country roads. No questions\, puzzles\, tricks or traps\, or timed controls\, just a fun (and stress-free) drive following a pre-determined route using a “convoy style” format. Rallymaster John Poulos will provide basic route instructions as a backup only. All are welcome\, and no prior rally experience is necessary. \n\n\n\nWe start in Arlington\, then the Let’s Meet at Waco Trek Rally will wind our way on twisty backroads to Waco\, passing through Glen Rose\, Meridian\, and other points before ending at a restaurant in Waco\, where we’ll enjoy a meal and camaraderie with fellow rallyists from the SCCA Lone Star Region (Austin-San Antonio). We’ll stop for a group picture at one or two sites along the way.  \n\n\n\nRegistration/Check-in at Summit Racing Equipment\, in Arlington\, at 845 AM. We’ll have a Safety Briefing at 915 AM\, and the first car departs at 930 AM. The rally spans a distance of 180 miles\, approximately five hours in length. The route is on paved roads in North Central Texas; we may encounter brief stretches of uneven pavement\, which may influence your vehicle choice on Rally Day. All vehicles are welcome: sports cars\, family cars\, classics\, antiques\, and anything with four wheels that’s street legal is okay in this Rally. Note: speed is not a factor. \n\n\n\nWe finish around 2:00 PM at El Conquistador Mexican Restaurant in Waco\, where we will share a beverage or meal with fellow rallyists from the Lone Star Region\, who will end their own Waco National Mammoth Monument Rally at this restaurant. \n\n\n\nAfter lunch\, teams may optionally visit Waco sights\, such as the Waco Mammoth National Monument\, Dr. Pepper Museum\, Magnolia Market\, and the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame & Museum\, before heading home. \n\n\n\nNo requirement for at least two people in each car unless you separate from the group and rely on (backup) route instructions. SUMMARY:TX: Waco National Mammoth Museum
DESCRIPTION:Join the SCCA Lone Star Region on their Waco Run Road Rally\, from Seguin to Waco\, where they will have a late lunch at the El Conquistador Restaurant before visiting one of several Waco attractions\, including the Waco Memorial Mammoth Museum\, the Texas Ranger Museum\, the Mayborn Museum Complex\, the Dr. Pepper Museum\, or the Cameron Park Zoo. This non-speed family event will be a wonderful chance to enjoy Texas country roads in the fall. Participants will be asked to answer 30 questions about the rally route. All awards are voted on by participants at the end of the event. \n\n\n\nEach team must have a valid inspection sticker and a Driver with a valid driver’s license; the car must also have proof of insurance and a Navigator who reads English. Children are welcome\, but children under 18 must have an SCCA Minor Waiver signed by both parents. Children\, if qualified\, may be Drivers or Navigators. The fee is only $25 per car whether a member of SCCA or not. This route will be over paved Federal\, State\, and County roads. \n\n\n\nThe Rally will start with Saturday registration from 9-10 AM. There will be a Safety Briefing at 9:45\, after which cars will be released to follow the rally route to Lockhart\, Elgin\, Taylor\, and a host of smaller towns. Once the participants reach Waco\, they are directed to El Conquistador Restaurant in southwest Waco\, where we hope to meet up with members of the Ft. Worth-Dallas Road Rally coming from the north. After voting on Road Rally awards\, participants will be given instructions on several Waco attractions they can visit. \n\n\n\nSCCA events are still asked to observe COVID precautions\, so we ask whoever attends the 9:45 Safety Briefing to wear a mask and/or separation protocols.  If you experience symptoms of COVID immediately before the event\, your money will be refunded. \n\n\n\nThe GOAL of the SCCA is to Have Fun with Cars!

Ghouls Gambol is a fun drive on scenic country roads through the autumn-colored countryside and includes both tricks and treats. Who says you don’t have a ghost of a chance? DESCRIPTION:The November First Friday Niter\, sanctioned by SCCA Cal Club\, Santa Monica Chapter\, is being written by guest Rallymaster Patrick Strong. Rumor has it that the rally will visit some of the Santa Monica mountain’s twistiest (and some think most fun) roads and that rumor is true! Strong’s rally is indeed a tour of some of his favorite roads in the Santa Monica mountains – no traps\, just fun driving. The rally finishes at the IHOP at Kanan and the 101 Freeway\, 5301 Kanan Rd\, Agoura Hills. \n\n\n\nWe are using the Richta GPS Competitor app for timing and scoring\, with timing to the tenth of a second. All checkpoints are listed in the Route Instructions\, with each leg scored from the most recent restart. The maximum penalty for this FFN is 3 minutes (180 seconds) per leg. Before you arrive at the start\, please download the Richta GPS Competitor app to your phone; it’s a free download for Android and Apple devices. There is no need for additional timing equipment\, your Official Time shows in the app! \n\n\n\nIs your usual rally partner not available for this FFN? DESCRIPTION:Each car must have a Regular Member or at least one Weekend Member in the car during driving portions of the tour. Read the rules here: Dominion Drive Trek Rally Supps (rules). \n\n\n\nFall drives are back with a flair! Dominion Drive Trek ’22 will take off on November 5th from the Dominion Raceway South main parking lot. Throughout the day\, Old Dominion territory will be toured to the delight of sports and touring car enthusiasts. Along Lake Anna and up through rarely seen countryside with amazing stops along the way\, and the long way from Thornburg to Bluemont.  \n\n\n\nCallaway Classics Car Show\, lunch stop\, pass through the middle of Mount Weather property on 601\, TWA Flight 514 monument\, and on to the Twin Oaks Tavern Winery. \n\n\n\nAbout 200 miles will be covered in the 5-hour tour (no lost islands involved\, think Gilligan’s Island).  \n\n\n\nIf you would like to come to explore the Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania area the night before\, there are plenty of great places to dine. SUMMARY:NH: New England Region Big Lap RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:Big Lap Rally\, sanctioned by the SCCA New England Region\, will run on Saturday\, November 5th. The rally starts at Mcdonald’s in Epsom\, NH. This auto event will challenge teams of a Driver and a Navigator to follow tulip instructions as they explore approximately 160 miles of central NH backroads. Expert teams will be challenged to stay on course and on time. Novices are welcome\, and they should have no problem following the tulip instructions. Paved and unpaved public roads will be used\, and while all vehicles are welcome\, it may not be suitable for all cars\, especially lowered cars. The event is not a race; all speeds are within posted speed limits. \n\n\n\nThe Richta GPS App will be used for timing and scoring\, so all teams must download the app to their smartphone or tablet. \n\n\n\nOnline registration closes November 3rd\, and we encourage you to register online at Motorsportreg. Mailed registration forms must be postmarked by November 1st.  \n\n\n\nRegistration is open 8A-915A Saturday\, with a 930A meeting for all contestants. The team departs at 10A + their car number in minutes. There will be a lunch break at about 1P in Tilton\, NH\, and the rally and Award Presentation will be at Northwoods Brewing\, Northwood\, NH about 430P. \n\n\n\nEntry fees for SCCA Members: $45 and Non-Members: $55\, which includes an SCCA Weekend membership required for non-SCCA members. DESCRIPTION:The Central Pennsylvania Region SCCA Witches Rallye\, is sanctioned by the Sports Car Club of America and is subject to the rules and regulations of the SCCA Road Rally Program. For the most part this is all simple stuff\, but PLEASE be aware of the requirements\, found at the online Registration link. \n\n\n\nWitches Rallye\, a Scavenger-Hunt Benefit will be starting earlier than past years. You’ll travel on central PA roads following a timed route described in the clue book\, answering questions about the sights you see along the way. Scores calculated while you socialize over FREE dinner at the secret finish location. Enter raffle drawings for prizes\, and trophies for top scoring teams and best costumes. If you enjoy a challenge\, or are looking for something fun and different to try\, this is the event for you! Bring your friends and family. DESCRIPTION:The day after Veteran’s Day 2022\, Saturday\, November 12th\, the NEOkla Region Sports Car Club of America will present the Visites Des Piste de Course. This is an ‘Average Joe’ SCCA Social Road Rally that will tour Oklahoma’s former and current permanent road race circuits! \n\n\n\nBeginning at the Cyrus Avery Centennial Plaza parking lot atop Crybaby Hill in Tulsa\, Oklahoma the route will cover Avery Drive (named after the Route 66 icon\, Cyrus Avery)\, most of the hilly\, winding Coyote Trail in west Tulsa County\, make a lap or two of the housing development that used to be the Warbonnet Raceway Park\, followed by a cruise through two 129-year-old towns in south Pawnee County. The rally will end at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit.  \n\n\n\nOnce in the facility\, participants can join in on Hallett’s Veterans Celebration Day where there will be a car show\, food trucks\, the Finish Line indoor cafe will be open and parade laps around the 1.8 mile circuit will be offered at lunch time. SUMMARY:NJ: Fun With Cars Day Ciocca Corvette Rally
DESCRIPTION:The Ciocca Corvette Road Rally (CCRR) is a Time-Speed-Distance(TSD) Road Rally sanctioned by the SCCA South Jersey Region set to run on Saturday\, November 12th. The CCRR will begin at Ciocca Corvette and end at Oyster Creek Inn. Entry for the 2022 CCRR is limited to 30 cars\, so don’t delay registering! \n\n\n\nAll the roads used on the Rally are scenic paved back roads with little traffic that are fun to drive. Each Car will be given a set of route instructions that shows the contestants the roads upon which to travel. These instructions also tell exactly how fast to drive. All speeds are at or below the posted safe speed limits along the route. All cars will accrue a one (1) point penalty for each one (1) second early or late they arrive at each Timing Control. A Rally is not a Race. Driving fast is not the object. The Contestants that control their speed the best will be the winners. Cars are spaced apart in 1-minute intervals. Car 1 begins the CCRR rally at 10:31A. The Rally Committee calculates the perfect entry time at each control by using the assigned Speed over the measured Distance to determine the perfect Time. (Thus\, a TSD rally). \n\n\n\nThe winners of the Road Rally\, like golf\, are the lowest score. Our rally is designed for contestants with little or no rally experience. Trophies will be awarded to cars with the three lowest scores\, the lowest all-female team\, and the car that finishes in last place. \n\n\n\nContestants will need to download the Richta GPS Competitor app before the day of the rally. The App is used to time your progress. The exact time each car reaches all the Timing Controls will be recorded by your cell phone in the rally car using the Richta Competitor app. The app will then verbally announce how far off the official time you arrived\, including if you were early or late. The Richta GPS Competitor app is free to download via the Apple or GooglePlay stores. Details of how to download and use the app will be sent to all contestants via Email after you register for the rally. \n\n\n\nThe Rally finishes at Oyster Creek Inn\, a very popular with residents for its excellent food.  See their menu. DESCRIPTION:The Roundabout Rally\, sanctioned by the SCCA Mohawk-Hudson Region\, will have onsite Registration 915A to 945A. A Safety/Driver’s meeting follows at 945A\, with the first car departing at 10A. There is a Stewart’s across the street for those needing gas\, restroom\, snack\, or a beverage before we start. \n\n\n\nTeams will be given a rally route book with instructions to turn\, drive “X” distance at “Y” speed\, then\, turn…. and so on and so on. Precision driving is key. Early is as bad as being late. Points are accumulated for both early and late. The lowest score wins. There will be somewhat hidden checkpoints to confirm team progress throughout the rally. All teams will finish at a restaurant to be announced in the rally route book\, where we will commence the storytelling and enjoy good food with great friends.

DESCRIPTION:The SCCA San Diego Region is back with It’s a Pie Run! Road Rally on Saturday\, December 3rd. The first car departs around 9A and should be finishing before Noon. A beginner’s video will be shared online the week before the event. The Driver’s meeting will be held on the morning of the event\, around 830A\, at the Freeport Road Park & Ride.  \n\n\n\nTeams will enjoy the twisty back roads of San Diego Country\, covering ±75 miles on fun-to-drive country roads\, following legal limits\, before finishing up at The Cooler\, Tap & Tasting Room near Julian\, CA. \n\n\n\nThe entry fee is $25 per car; one member must be an SCCA Member\, and SCCA Weekend Memberships are available during Registration for $15. These can be used as a credit toward a full SCCA Membership. \n\n\n\nYou will need paper and a pencil/pen\, a watch or clock with a second hand; a stopwatch and a clipboard will be helpful. The object of a navigational rally is to follow the rally course at the assigned (legal) speeds and arrive at each checkpoint precisely on time\, not early or late. Your score on each leg of the rally is based on how early or late you arrive at each checkpoint. All teams must have a smartphone or tablet with the Richta GPS Competitor app to enter. \n\n\n\nA valid Driver’s License and proof of current liability insurance are required. Your vehicle must meet basic safety standards (e.g.\, lights\, brakes\, windshield wipers\, and the horn must work). Each vehicle participating shall have at least two participants\, a Driver and a Navigator. Passengers are allowed\, but no more than can safely be carried in the car\, and they must sign a Speedwaiver and register for the event. \n\n\n\nResults will be posted online\, and trophies will be awarded to the top finishers in each competition class. DESCRIPTION:Join the SCCA Texas Region as we close our 2022 Rally season\, supporting a good cause while honoring Sasha Lanz! The Texas Region of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) cordially invites all fellow car enthusiasts to Sasha’s Children’s Book Run Rally\, a Trek rally benefiting the Scottish Rite for Children\, one of the nation’s leading pediatric orthopedic centers. All are welcome\, and no prior rally experience is necessary. \n\n\n\nA bit of history: Sasha Lanz was instrumental in building a successful RoadRally program in the SCCA Texas Region and leading it for many years. One of his favorite events was the Children’s Book Run. Entrants were asked to donate two children’s books\, gathered at check-in on Rally Day. Over the six years\, we have held the rally\, hundreds of books were donated to Sottish Rite!  We would like to keep this tradition alive and conduct a Children’s Book Run in his name every year.    \n\n\n\nThis year we plan to conduct the event again as a Trek\, a non-competitive driving event on scenic country roads. No questions\, puzzles\, tricks or traps\, or timed controls\, just a fun drive following a pre-determined route in Collin\, Grayson\, and Denton counties using a “convoy style” format – and a bit of trivia: we’ll pass through 7 towns named after women. We’ll provide basic route instructions as a backup only. Weather permitting\, we’ll stop at one or two places of interest for a group picture. \n\n\n\nEach person in the car is asked to contribute two NEW books for the patients at Scottish Rite. They need books for all ages – 5 through 16 – including Look-and-Find books\, board books\, chapter books\, Spanish-language books\, etc. We will collect the books at registration/check-in. \n\n\n\nWe encourage you to pre-register via this link at Motorsportreg\, where you will find important registration and event details. (Non-members will still need to pay the $10 weekend membership fee for insurance purposes.) Please remember to bring a little bit of money to purchase food items. All food items will be donated to a local food pantry after the rally.

DESCRIPTION:For the past 32 years\, SCCA Northern New Jersey Region has been hosting this annual event. Over $27\,500 in toys have been donated to the United States Marine Corp Reserve toy drive since the 1st Teddy Bear Rally in 1990. SCCA-NNJR’s Toys for Tots Roadrally is the longest continually run charity event conducted by SCCA. \n\n\n\nThis year’s event will be 55 miles and be a two-and-a-half-hour novice-orientated rally. It will utilize written instructions and photo clues to determine the trophy winners. \n\n\n\nThis is not a timed event. Your ability to follow the course correctly and identify the scenes depicted in the photo clues determines your score. \n\n\n\nNo hard-to-see or tricky questions to answer. \n\n\n\nThe entry fee is a new stuffed animal or unwrapped toy of $35.00 or greater. While stuffed animals will be accepted in 2022\, unwrapped toys are preferred.

Afterward\, the route continues to Paige on Texas 21\, the old King’s Highway\, for a late lunch at the Roadhouse. \n\n\n\nThis route is along US\, state\, and farm-to-market roads. DESCRIPTION:The Route of Some EVO Road Rally is a rally of approximately 125 “interesting” miles using paved and unpaved roads in the New York Southern Tier. In keeping with the Winter Rally Series format\, sanctioned by the SCCA Finger Lakes Region\, this is an evening TSD rally run at speeds within the local speed limits. \n\n\n\nSnow tires are recommended (all-season tires may limit your speed group eligibility)\, tow rope/strap\, and 90 minutes of flares or one DOT triangle are required to compete. \n\n\n\nOnline registration on Motorsportreg is recommended (and it helps us out\, too) via this link. Final Registration paperwork is from 3P to 4P\, with a Drivers Meeting at 410P. The first car departs at 431P and is due at Applebee’s Canandaigua around 10P.

SUMMARY:CA: SCCA Cal Club First Friday Niter Social RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:The SCCA Cal Club\, Santa Monica Sports Car Club Chapter\, continues their tradition of its First Friday Niter Series and begins the new year with Rallymaster Larry Scholnick. He describes his rally as “a trip around the rim of the Valley\, the San Fernando Valley.” It really does travel from place to place.  There are some traps on this rally\, but no more than one per leg (and not all legs have traps).  Trap values average about 30 seconds. FYI\, my favorite instruction on the rally is this one:  STRAIGHT(ish) at STOP. \n\n\n\nWe will be using the Richta GPS Competitor app for timing and scoring\, with timing in seconds. The max penalty this month is 120 seconds (2 minutes) per leg. All checkpoints are listed in the route instructions with a Restart after each checkpoint. This app is FREE and easy to use on any GPS-enabled smartphone. Go to the App Store or Google Play Store\, or https://richtarally.com/. There is no need for additional timing equipment or clocks – your Official Time shows in the app!   \n\n\n\nAlso\, if you want to see all the scores at the Finish\, download the free Richta Scoreboard app.  Finish will be at IHOP\, 5031 Kanan Road\, Agoura Hills (at the Kanan offramp of the 101). \n\n\n\nPlease register online at MotorSportReg. This helps us plan for number of instructions to print\, trophies\, and all that good stuff. If that doesn’t work for you\, in-person registration opens at 7:00 pm\, with the first car out at 8:01 pm; there is a beginner/Richta meeting at 7:40 pm.
