SUMMARY:WI: Roads Scamper National Tour RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:The SCCA Milwaukee Region presents the Roads Scamper National Tour RoadRally\, on Sunday\, June 6\, 2021. Join your fellow RoadRally enthusiasts for this 180-mile time-speed-distance National Tour RoadRally in the beautiful Wisconsin countryside. You and your rally partner will enjoy a scenic rally adventure through the marvelous country roads north of Madison\, Wisconsin. \n\n\n\nThis rally will use the Richta GPS checkpoint app. Contestants will download the app to their smartphones in advance of the rally. During the rally\, this app will use the GPS signals and automatically record your arrival time at each checkpoint and then display your score to you!! No more waiting until the rally is over to find out how you did. A bonus feature of this Richta GPS checkpoint system is that we can provide you with many more checkpoints and more challenging checkpoint locations. Expect at least 100 checkpoints in this 180-mile rally. Contestants will need a smartphone to run this event. If you’re planning to run another rally app during the event\, you’ll need to do that on a separate device. The Richta GPS checkpoint app needs to be the only app running on your phone during the rally; you can download the app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. \n\n\n\nThis is a tour-type rally\, so there are no tricks or traps. Pre-registration is required\, and you can click here to check out the details at Hagerty MotorsportReg! Rallymaster Jim Crittenden encourages you to register straight-away\, as there is a twenty-five car limit on this rally\, and it is expected to sell out!  \n\n\n\nThere is also a Milwaukee Region event on Saturday\, June 5th\, called the Roads Scholar National Course. \n\n\n\nHeadquarters Hotel:  Should you decide to come in the evening before\, the Country Inn and Suites\, has a block of rooms (with two queen beds) reserved for contestants at a special rate of $79/night plus tax\, but only until May 13th. This includes a hot breakfast buffet. SUMMARY:NY: NCHS Road Rally Fundraiser
DESCRIPTION:Looking to escape the rigors and isolation of Covid-19 for a bit? The Niagara County Historical Society is hosting their first ever NCHS Road Rally fundraiser on June 12\, 2021. The entry fee is a $50.00 donation to the Society per vehicle\, and a driver and at least one crewmember is required\, but you can add more\, as long as you finish with everyone who started.  \n\n\n\nUnlike the Memorial Day Indianapolis 500\, our Rally is NOT a race but a contest that will test driving skills\, knowledge\, powers of observation\, memory and the ability to do simple calculations while maneuvering your vehicle across a timed course over the roads of Niagara County.  \n\n\n\nParticipating vehicles will be given departure times between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM\, route instructions and a sealed envelope containing the Rally end point\, just in case you get hopelessly lost.  Participants will not have to leave their vehicle for anything. The drive will take approximately 2 hours. \n\n\n\nThe “fun” doesn’t end with just the leisurely drive through the country\, your team will also be tasked with decrypting clues\, identifying landmarks\, and recording information as you travel along the route.  On your arrival at the destination\, you will turn in your driving log with your recorded information for scoring. For timing concerns\, much of the route was planned below the posted speed limits but you will be responsible for obeying all traffic and civic laws. \n\n\n\nDue to this year’s pandemic\, there will be no post-Rally Award Ceremony\, but final results will be emailed/mailed to you within a few days of completing the course. Winners will be posted at the Niagara County History Center\, 215 Niagara St.\, and in the Erie Canal Discovery Center\, 24 Church St.\, both in Lockport and prizes TBA. Rally Instructions will be mailed/e-mailed to each competitor upon registration\, but your route instructions will be handed to your navigator only four minutes prior to your departure time. SUMMARY:OH: Delusional Drive to Daly Rd Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an afternoon of Dashing thru Northern Hamilton County from Fairfield to Mt. Healthy to New Baltimore\, along city streets and county roads on the Delusional Drive to Daly Rd Road Rally. This is an easy\, fun rally of 100 miles\, and as many questions to keep you and your Navigator awake searching for the clues to the answers. There will also be a set of EZ Instructions for those who would rather just enjoy the drive. The search is on for Daly Rd. When you see it\, you’ll need to mark it down for extra points\, or should I say for extra credit\, as the idea is to have the least number of points\, not the most. We should finish up starting about 2:30\, meeting afterward for food and beverages and scoring at Rick’s Tavern next door. \n\n\n\nPre-registration is strongly encouraged to ensure a place and to facilitate social distancing at on-site check-in. The cost for the event is $30\, with a discount available if at least one person in the car is a current SCCA member. \n\n\n\nA road rally is traversed over public roads within the legal speed limit. This is a GTA aka Game/Tour/Adventure Rally\, with no calculations necessary. The challenge is to follow the route and answer as many questions as possible. The Rally Master is Jim Knepper. \n\n\n\nChoose your option for this event and sign up for one of these options: \n\n\n\n(1) the competitive route instructions will include questions to be answered in order to score and determine the winner. The points earned will be counted for the Regional Championship. Some of the route directions will require some decision-making\, but there are no intentional traps.  \n\n\n\n(2) or if you prefer to join us for a fun drive with no scoring or prizes\, you can choose the Drive Instructions. The route is the same for both options\, but the fun drive will have explicit instructions to make it very difficult to get off course. \n\n\n\nThe schedule is: \n\n\n\n  9:00 AM – Registration and Check-in opens 10:15 AM – Safety Meeting (approximate time) 10:30 AM – Depart (approximate time)   2:30 PM – Could arrive at endpoint (approximate time)   3:30 PM – Must be at endpoint in order to be scored and awarded points \n\n\n\nFollowing COVID-19 protocols at the time\, we expect to be socializing after the event. If you do not feel comfortable meeting as a group\, your answer sheet can be picked up from you in the parking lot.

To clarify\, the start is at the Park and Ride next to Exit 4  near Randolph\, Vermont. The TECH FORM is also posted – you need to fill this out and bring it with you to get your Route Information. You need to have printed the Generals and Richta info as there will be none given out at Registration. \n\n\n\nJune 8\, 2021: A NEW SAMPLE MAP is posted. The original one left off the important scale. Also\, a new entry list. \n\n\n\nJune 6\, 2021: A new Entry List is posted. \n\n\n\nJune 4\, 2021: The General Instructions\, a Sample Timecard\, and Richta control info are all posted. We have 14 entries\, and a new Entry list will be posted within the week. If you have any questions\, don’t be afraid to email me. \n\n\n\nMay 25\, 2021: The Sample Routes and Info are posted.  No new entries – now’s the time :). \n\n\n\nMay 17\, 2021: The first Entry List is posted. \n\n\n\nMay 10\, 2021: Now that I’ve done an event as a competitor\, I have more insight into what happens during an event. Although it’s not necessary to score well\, it’s nice to actually see the timing point (I never saw any at Seacoast). Now that we have to stay on time – all the time – you need to have a free zone after every “Stop’ (where there isn’t a pause) to avoid speeding after the “Stop.” For a reason I’m not sure about\, the scores are better than in the past; thus\, mileages at the Start of a Leg and Timing CP’s should be accurate to the thousandth of a mile – OR – competitors need to be told that the mileage ‘rolls over’ from whatever happened to be shown on the hundredth-reading odometer at the CP. Example: At the start of an event\, you understand that the start mileage is 0.00(0) – not 0.00(4\, or something); the mileage is understood to be “0” in the thousandth place. At Timing CP’s\, a Rallymaster could decide -and tell competitors – that whatever his odo showed to the CP (in hundredths) is what the next leg starts at. \n\n\n\nApril 28\, 2021: The ENTRY INFO is posted. I’ll be putting up more info here as we go along. \n\n\n\nApril 22\, 2021: I’ve been out on the course a couple of times. It’s a nice new area – South and East of Randolph. There’s a few really good stretches of twisty roads over the Vermont hills. It’s also a nice change from the Winter Challenge (and the Seacoast Scramble) – it’s during the day so you can see the countryside – and maybe see the control locations :)! The Entry info will be up on this site next week. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMarch 15\, 2021:  I’ve picked a date for the SUMMER CHALLENGE RALLY – JUNE 19. It will start again like last year – at Exit 4 of I 89 in Randolph\, VT.;  10 am to 5 pm\, running south and east to White River Jct and then back.   More info will be available on this website as we go along; perhaps Entry info on May 1.

SUMMARY:CT: CVR Ice Cream Social Distancing Rally
DESCRIPTION:After a very successful run last year\, we are happy to offer the return of the Ice Cream Social Distancing Rally. This event is a ‘Photos and Questions’ only Rally where participants navigate between local ice cream shoppes whilst winding through some of the best driving roads in Connecticut.  \n\n\n\nThis is an entirely self-service Rally that can be performed at any time between July 1 and July 11. Take it as slow or as fast (within the limit) as you like. Run the course over again on another day if you missed something. It’s totally up to you. The route ends at Lenny & Joe’s Fish Tale – 1301 Boston Post Road\, Madison\, CT. Just make sure to submit your answer sheets to us at Rally@cvrpca.org by the end of July 11. \n\n\n\nAt least one member of each Rally team must be a Porsche Club of America member. This event is open to all active PCA members\, regardless of Region. Registrations without a member number listed will be canceled.

DESCRIPTION:The First Friday Niter Series has a long history with the Santa Monica Sports Car Club\, a Chapter of the SCCA California Sports Car Club. The Rallymaster for the July event will be Jeanne English. \n\n\n\nRegistration opens at 7 PM\, with a Beginner/Richta App meeting at 740 PM. The first car is out at 801 PM. The entry is $25\, with a $10 discount if either the Driver or Navigator is an SCCA Member. Should you run the FFNs regularly\, this becomes an excellent reason to join the SCCA and other discounts available from National. \n\n\n\nWe are still practicing COVID-19 restrictions – primarily wearing masks and social distancing. We continue to use the Richta Competitor GPS app for checkpoints\, so no manned checkpoints or control cards to pass in and out of the car; there’s a new version\, 1.20\, that should automatically update on your phone when you log in. Each checkpoint sign will be clearly shown in the instructions\, so no guesswork will be needed.

SUMMARY:TX: Historic Tour of San Antonio Social RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:San Antonio has had more battles fought within its city limits than any other town in North America. These battles occurred while San Antonio was under the jurisdiction of Spain\, the Republic of Mexico\, the Republic of Texas\, and the United States. This Road Rally will take you to the approximate location of each site; however\, the exact location of some of the sites is not known\, and other sites ranged over several miles. If you want a more detailed investigation of any site\, you are encouraged to revisit site(s) on your own and at your convenience. The oldest two sites date from 1813\, and the latest site dates from the 1870s. \n\n\n\nThis is a non-speed social Road Rally whose route will be along city streets\, and speed bumps may be an issue for some cars. We will start on the west side of San Antonio\, proceed to the far south side\, and then complete our tour just north of downtown. It should take between 90 minutes and two hours for this Road Rally as you learn about the history of San Antonio.  Questions will be asked along the way\, but awards will not be based on questions or a car’s finish position. This Road Rally is meant to be a fun social outing and learning event. DESCRIPTION:Cascade Sports Car Club’s Saturday Road Rally Series offers beginner-friendly time-speed-distance road rallies\, lasting from three to four hours\, starting and ending in the Portland area. The July 17th road rally begins at Milwaukie Lowe’s. \n\n\n\nEntry fee: $20 per car for CSCC members (either Driver or Navigator is a CSCC member)$30 per car for non-members   \n\n\n\nSchedule: July 17thFirst car out: 10:01 am First car arrives at the finish (approx.): 1:30 pm Results emailed: after all cars finish  Entry requires a street-legal vehicle\, a licensed and insured driver\, a navigator\, and a smart device (e.g.\, cell phone or tablet) running the Competitor Richta GPS Checkpoints app. \n\n\n\nDay-of-event on-site registration will not be available. Due to the continuing pandemic\, the Saturday Series Rally will be Cascade’s tenth TSsD (Time Speed social Distance) road rally conducted in compliance with the Cascade Geargrinders Coronavirus Message. \n\n\n\nAfter completing online registration by the deadline of midnight\, July 14th\, you will receive an email providing further instructions\, including your car number assignment\, instructions for registering your car number in the Competitor Richta app\, and a link to e-sign the required event insurance waiver. Once you’ve completed these check-in steps\, we’ll email the route instructions on Friday. You’ll need to print them. Friday evening\, there will be a Q & A Zoom meeting. \n\n\n\nOn Saturday morning\, leave the start by your assigned out time. Follow the route instructions to the end. DESCRIPTION:This is the 4th point rally for SCCA’s Southern Indiana Region. \n\n\n\nIt starts near the Dairy Queen restaurant on HWY 144 on the east side of Owensboro\, KYRegistration is from 12:00 noon – 1:00 PM\, with the first car off after the Driver’s meeting. \n\n\n\nThis is a rally that will use the Richta GPS App. Go to your smartphone store\, find the ‘Richta Competitor’ rally app\, and download it on a connected device. The app will be used to score the event. \n\n\n\nThe entry fee for SCCA members per car\, one driver & one navigator\, is $32The entry fee for a non-SCCA member per car\, one driver & one navigator is $43  \n\n\n\nPre-event registration is required.  We will not be doing registration on-site. Please\, do not bring someone who is not registered!
