SUMMARY:CA: Ron Dunlop Memorial Charity Cruise
DESCRIPTION:The object of Ron Dunlop Memorial Charity Cruise is to enjoy driving sweeping\, beautiful\, challenging\, paved back roads at legal speeds while raising money for one of our favorite charities. All net proceeds (over $20 per car) will be donated to the Loma Linda University Medical Center\, the group that took such good care of Ron. There is no need for advanced math and no riddles\, compasses\, maps\, or gimmicks. We will rain or shine on May 18\, 2024. \n\n\n\nThis is an SCCA Cal Club-sanctioned Regional “Trek” format cruise event sponsored by the Into the Night Rally Team. It’s a non-competitive\, untimed driving event. You can run alone or with as many passengers as your vehicle has working seat belts. \n\n\n\nThe “Trek” format is a “follow-the-leader” type cruise event. There will be a lead car\, and we’ll all basically just stay in the queue behind them. Just follow the car in front of you and enjoy the roads. We will hand out a brief\, written course description at the Start to help you stay with the route if you decide to stop or whatever. You can stop anywhere for any reason: a break\, sightseeing\, photos\, etc. \n\n\n\nRegarding photos\, this event will go through the heart of the southern California wildflower area. With the rains we’ve been having\, it should be a super bloom and should still be going strong on rally day. We have found an especially scenic spot on the course in this area\, and we will have a professional photographer there to get some high-res pictures of you and your car surrounded by the wildflowers. We’ll then send each of you your photos after the event! \n\n\n\nThis event has been designed to be extremely EV-friendly. Charging stations are near both the Start and Finish. \n\n\n\nPlease register online at MotorsportsReg.com. Registration is $30 per car. All net proceeds (over $20 per car) will be donated to the Loma Linda University Medical Center\, the group that took such good care of Ron. (NOTE: If the “register now” button doesn’t work\, please reload this page and try again.) \n\n\n\nYou may still register in person at the Start. (Sorry\, but we cannot accept credit cards at Registration. Please use the MSR website to pay by credit card.)   \n\n\n\nRegistration opens at 10 AM\, but feel free to come earlier. Dink’s Deli makes its bagels on-site daily\, and they are mighty good. There’s also a Starbucks and a Jamba Juice literally next door. Come early for some socializing\, tall tales\, and tire-kicking. The finish will be at the Black Bear Diner in Palmdale. \n\n\n\nThis driving portion of the event lasts about 2 hours and covers about 90 miles of our favorite roads. The Cruisemaster is Paul McGaffey. \n\n\n\nMore Info can be found at www.itnrally.org and on the Ron Dunlop Memorial Charity Cruise Facebook page at Log in or sign up to view. For any questions or more detailed information\, contact Paul at selmer6@gmail.com\, or call or text 310 350 1360. \n\n\n\nRReNews Note: Ron Dunlop\, for whom this Memorial Cruise is in honor\, has a lovely Last Checkpoint tribute written for him by Paul in 2022. You may view it here. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n Leave a ReplyCancel reply \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n\n This site uses Akismet to reduce spam. SUMMARY:MI: Detroit Region Road Rally School
DESCRIPTION:The Detroit Region SCCA (DRSCCA) is excited to announce the return of Road Rally School! All are welcome regardless of experience level: if you’re interested in Road Rally and unsure where to start\, have competed in some events and want to improve your scores\, or want to try out a new kind of motorsports competition! \n\n\n\nTaught by 2020 Stock Class National Champions Sawyer Stone and Alison Lee\, Rally School will consist of “classroom” portions where you’ll walk through all of the terms\, rally sections\, and how-to of following instructions and keeping time to achieve low scores in Road Rally. In addition\, you’ll put these new skills to the test over two rally sections where you’ll encounter everything you may run into in a Road Rally. Our goal is to give you the skills and confidence to be competitive in DRSCCA Road Rally events. \n\n\n\nWhat You Need: \n\n\n\n\nA Teammate: Road Rally is a team sport! Teams consist of a Driver and a Navigator. No teammate? Let us know; we can pair you up with someone\n\n\n\nA Car: Any road-legal car is allowed. Most of the roads you’ll drive are unpaved backroads around South Lyon\, but ordinary passenger cars will be just fine\n\n\n\nA SmartPhone: Nearly all checkpoints in Road Rallies are set up via GPS. You’ll need the Competitor – Richta GPS Checkpoint app to test out your new skills\n\n\n\nPen\, Paper\, and Calculator: Road Rally has some math and some notes. A basic 4-function or cell phone calculator can do everything you need\, but it should be a phone that won’t be used for the Competitor App.\n\n\n\nLook for the Competitor Richta GPS Checkpoints app on the Google Play Store or Apple App Store or click on the appropriate link:\n\n\n\n\nhttps://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.richta.cpa2&hl=en_UShttps://apps.apple.com/us/app/competitor-richta-checkpoint/id1448298019 Prior to the rally\, all the checkpoint information (locations by Latitude and Longitude and the correct arrival times) is loaded onto the internet by the Rally Master. People who register for the rally are given a car number and the password for the app. Each Rally Team then goes to the site and downloads the information for their car. The contestants will NOT be able to view Rally Master information. During the rally\, when each car reaches a checkpoint\, the contestant’s device will signal a checkpoint has been reached with a “bing-bong” sound. The device will then display your time entered and your score and say “early” or “late.” Your total score for the rally to that point will also be displayed. \n\n\n\nVisit the Richta app information page at http://drscca.org/rally/using-the-richta-competitor-app/ to learn more about how the app works and how to use it. \n\n\n\nWhere: Aubree’s Pizzeria & Grill \n\n\n\nWhen: Saturday\, May 11th\, Class Start 1130A and Finish 530P \n\n\n\nRegistration: \n\n\n\n\n$20 per person\n\n\n\nOnline entries only via MotorsportReg\n\n\n\n+$20 if neither the Driver or the Navigator is an SCCA member\, one of you must purchase a weekend membership ($15 of this may be used as a discount toward a full SCCA membership).\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n Leave a ReplyCancel reply \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n\n This site uses Akismet to reduce spam. SUMMARY:WA: Raindrop Rally 2024 – Rally in the Valleys
DESCRIPTION:Raindrop 2024—Rally in the Valleys will start at the “big rock” in Duval. It will be a leisurely paced Time-Speed-Distance (TSD) rally along some of the rivers and their valleys that make up the northeast corner of the Seattle area. Some great driving roads have views\, twisty bits\, and urban obstacles that are entertaining/challenging for the driver and navigator alike. \n\n\n\nEntrants receive instructions with specific\, clear directions at speeds at or below legal limits\, with specific times to start each section at one-minute intervals. Raindrop is a “closed control” (passage control) format where cars do not stop at checkpoints. The goal is to pass each checkpoint in the correct second\, and the car with the fewest points wins. \n\n\n\nRegistration will be online only\, there is no onsite registration road rally morning. \n\n\n\nFirst Car Out: 10:00 AM \n\n\n\nFinish Location: Pat’s Thai Shabu\, Stanwood\, WA. Arrival approximately 4 PM. \n\n\n\nClasses: Unlimited\, Equipped\, Seat-Of-Pants\, and Novice. (See clarifications in Supplemental General Instructions) \n\n\n\nGeneral Instructions: Raindrop will use the Rainier Auto Sports Club Touring General Instructions (PDF format) available in Rally Reference and Supplemental Generals specific to this event. Please be familiar with the definitions of your selected class. Supplemental Instructions may change at any time until the provisional start order is posted. \n\n\n\nScoring: Raindrop will utilize Competitor-Richta GPS Checkpoints for scoring. To be scored\, you must use your own Android or iOS device and load the Richta Competitor app. For an overview\, see the NWRC Introduction to Richta Competitor App (PDF). \n\n\n\nCar numbers will be assigned and the Richta Competitor event password will be e-mailed to all entrants. You can set up your Richta Checkpoints app after you receive the event password. \n\n\n\nQuestions about Richta usage on this event can be directed to rain23scoring@rainierautosports.com.

SUMMARY:FL: May the 4th Be With You Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to announce our latest road rally event for the greater Jacksonville area with a Star Wars theme! Each car will drive on paved public roads using a set of predefined route instructions through various checkpoints using the Competitor – Richta GPS Checkpoints app. Participants will be scored based on their arrival time at each defined checkpoint. We will start at a fast food restaurant in southern Jacksonville where cars will depart one minute apart. The finish will be a sit down restaurant\, technically in Ponte Vedra Beach\, where scoring\, awards\, and lunch will be available (you are responsible for purchasing your own food\, we encourage everyone to eat and support the location).  \n\n\n\nAre you new to road rallies or unsure what this is all about? Check out this (somewhat lengthy but humorous) video explanation.  \n\n\n\nAny car is allowed\, such that it meets all Florida state laws and is insured to meet the state’s minimum requirements. A valid driver’s license and proof of insurance will be required at on-site registration. Each car is allowed as many people as there are seatbelts in the vehicle\, but each car is suggested to have at least two people: a Driver and a Navigator. There will be a starting location\, five (5) unmanned checkpoints\, followed by a sixth checkpoint at the finishing location. Team numbers will be assigned but the starting order will be determined randomly. \n\n\n\nThree classes for this rally are available: Stock\, Limited\, and Seat of Your Pants. Visit https://www.scca.com/pages/roadrally-rules for official class descriptions and rules. Below are some examples of the types of setups used in each class.  \n\n\n\n\nStock: Using your vehicle’s stock trip/odometer\, smartphone as a calculator\, and a stopwatch (perhaps the same or another smartphone). This is the most common class and recommended for novices.\n\n\n\nLimited: Using the car’s built-in navigation system to show distance traveled\, a 3rd party GPS tracking system via mobile app (i.e. Richta Odometer\, Maps\, or an Odometer/Trip app)\, as long as that information isn’t transferable to the calculating device (i.e. can’t be the same smartphone running the app and calculations).\n\n\n\nSOP: Just your odometer\, pens/pencils\, stopwatch\, and gut instincts. No calculator of any kind.\n\n\n\n\nOnline registration for the driver and navigator is required. To register and for more information\, click here! \n\n\n\nStarting Location: Dunkin’ Donuts Finishing Location: Fionn MacCool’s Irish Pub & Restaurant (145 Hilden Rd\, Ponte Vedra Beach\, FL 32081)Registration Fee: $30 for SCCA members\, $50 for non-SCCA members (includes an SCCA Weekend Membership)Estimated Duration: 88 miles\, just over 2hrs in duration\, breaks are allowed along the way at your leisure. Required Equipment: Dedicated smart phone with Richta app\, cannot be used while the rally is active. Download at https://richtarally.com/ Recommended Equipment: Clipboard\, pencils/pens\, highlighters\, stopwatches (smartphone ok)\, calculator\, secondary (and/or 3rd) smartphone \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n Leave a ReplyCancel reply \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n\n This site uses Akismet to reduce spam. SUMMARY:CA: Cal Club First Friday Niter Social Roadrally
DESCRIPTION:It’s May\, so it’s finally time to run the postponed February FFN! The rally will run primarily in and around the Rye Canyon industrial park in Santa Clarita (near Magic Mountain). Jeanne English is the Rallymaster\, and she likes traps\, so there will be some. They are all based upon WOF (whichever occurs first) instructions. That means there are no onto\, FLR\, spelling\, or any other kind of trap except for the WOF instructions. There will even be a special help page for beginners\, which Larry Scholnick will explain at the Beginner’s Meeting. Jeanne suggests reading the definition of WOF in the SMSCC general instructions. \n\n\n\nThe rally finishes at Toppers Pizza Place\, 23710 Valencia Blvd\, Santa Clarita\, 661-222-7888 (at the corner of Valencia and Magic Mtn). \n\n\n\nThis rally uses the Richta GPS Competitor app for timing and scoring\, with timing in seconds. This month’s maximum penalty is 60 seconds (1 minute) per leg. The app is FREE and easy to use on any GPS-enabled smartphone. Go to the App Store\, Google Play Store\, or https://richtarally.com/. There is no need for additional timing equipment or clocks – your Official Time shows in the app!  \n\n\n\nIf you want to see all the scores at the Finish\, download the FREE Richta Scoreboard app. \n\n\n\nPlease try to register online at msreg.com/FFN052024. If that doesn’t work for you\, you can still register in person at the Bank of America start; we start at the rear lot. In-person registration opens at 7:00PM\, with the first car out at 8:01PM; there is a beginner/Richta meeting at 7:40PM. \n\n\n\nIf you want to see all the scores at the Finish\, download the FREE Richta Scoreboard app. \n\n\n\nIs your usual rally partner not available for this FFN?  Let Jeanne know\, and she will attempt (with no guarantees) to match you up with another single.   \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n Leave a ReplyCancel reply \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n\n This site uses Akismet to reduce spam. SUMMARY:BC: Hagerty Spring Thaw
DESCRIPTION:The Hagerty Spring Thaw is a budget-minded driving adventure through British Columbia for pre-1979 and earlier touring and sports cars\, with exceptions for select newer cars per car (see the FAQ section for the Delorean Rule. This un-scored\, non-competitive event takes place entirely within the province of British Columbia and consists of approximately 1200km of driving over three days. The Spring Thaw is organized by Squamish Classic Car Adventures using straightforward route instructions. Each entrant must read the Supplementary Regulations\, which contain all the details and ‘rules’ for the event\, before completing the Entry Form. \n\n\n\nThe Hagerty Spring Thaw will start on Friday\, May 3rd\, 2024\, and finish on Sunday\, May 5th\, 2024. To ensure an “adventure\,” the route will remain secret until competitors receive their entry packages at registration. Way-finding instructions will be detailed and clear and will not require any calculations or rally knowledge. The event consists of 100% paved roads with some mountainous terrain\, and driving is scheduled during daylight hours. Car wash facilities are available at each overnight stop\, though our definition of ‘facilities’ is rather loose. The coin-op down the road may suffice! \n\n\n\nVehicle Acceptance\n\n\n\nThe Hagerty Spring Thaw Adventure is open to sport\, touring and classic cars from 1979 and earlier. Sorry\, no motorcycles on this event. All vehicles attending the Hagerty Spring Thaw are expected to meet legal roadworthiness standards at an absolute minimum. Generally guests should ensure their vehicles are ready for a long weekend of driving through back-country and winding roads\, keeping in mind that short jaunts around town may not fully prepare your vehicle for long hours of remote highways. \n\n\n\nThe Delorean Rule\n\n\n\nVehicles made after 1979 are considered on a case-by-case basis\, under a rule we call “The Delorean Rule”. If you think your post-1979 car fits within the spirit of our events\, simply enter as per normal and ensure we have some photos and background story on the car. \n\n\n\nImportant Changes From Previous Years:\n\n\n\n\nEntrants for 2024 will be required to know how many Kilometers/miles their car goes on a tank of fuel\, and how much supplementary fuel you will need if you cannot travel 325km on a full tank.\n\n\n\n\nRReNews Note: At posting\, we don’t have the starting hotel location\, so we use a City Hall for the town.

Teams may run all five events or only those that suit their schedules. \n\n\n\nThe five events of the series are April 27\, June 1\, June 29\, July 27\, and August 24. Registration for each event normally opens three weeks before the event’s date. \n\n\n\nStart and finish: Sunset Overlook\, 11604 Bluff Road\, Columbia\, Ill. \n\n\n\nSize of the field: We are limiting each field to 20 teams. \n\n\n\nRegistration: Pre-event registration is only available at MotorsportReg.com. Entries for STL Rally School #1 are accepted on a first-come basis. The other member of a non-SCCA team will receive a free SCCA Trial Membership (as will any non-SCCA member of an SCCA team). \n\n\n\nInformation: J. Thomas vonHatten\, Rallymaster\, 314-715-1398\, tom.vonhatten@gmail.com \n\n\n\nGood things to know: As indicated above\, we will use the Checkpoint – Richta GPS Checkpoint app for timing and scoring. To compete\, each participating team must have a smartphone or tablet with active data cellular service (no airplane mode and no Wi-Fi-only devices) and the Richta Competitor App installed. The app will report your arrival time and leg score to your cellphone or tablet moments after you pass each GPS checkpoint location. To download the app\, search for “Competitor Richta” or “Richta GPS Competitor App”  at Google Play or Apple’s App Store. For more information about the Richta GPS system\, visit https://richtarally.com. \n\n\n\nThe SCCA Detroit Region’s rally page has an excellent summary of the Richta system\, especially its Competitor App. Visit http://drscca.org/rally/using-the-richta-competitor-app. It is worth your time. \n\n\n\nAbout the St. Louis Region\, SCCA: The SCCA’s St. Louis Region\, with some 600 members\, offers Road Racing\, Performance Driving Experience (PDE)\, RallyCross\, RoadRally\, Solo (autocross)\, and Street Survival School programs to educate and provide safe environments for individuals to enjoy their street-legal (daily driver) cars and purpose-built racecars. The Region is home to more than 80 National Champions and has been recognized four times by the Sports Car Club of America as the Region of the Year in its member category. To learn more about the St. Louis Region\, visit www.stlscca.org. \n\n\n\nEvent Requirements\n\n\n\nRules and Waivers: \n\n\n\nThe standard SCCA rules regarding road rallies will be observed. To wit: proof of valid driver’s license and current auto insurance\, vehicle inspection (self-inspection by the rally team)\, and signing of applicable SCCA forms. \n\n\n\nAll participants will be required to read and sign the standard SCCA waiver before being allowed to participate in this event. The signing of the SCCA “Release and Waiver of Liability\, Assumption of Risk and Indemnity Agreement” is a precondition to participating in any SCCA event. Any adult 18 or older must sign the waiver. \n\n\n\nMinor Participants: A Minor taking part in this event must have an Annual Minor Waiver on file with the SCCA for the current calendar year\, i.e.\, 2024. \n\n\n\nThe Age of Majority is 18 except in Alabama and Nebraska\, where it is 19\, and Mississippi\, where it is 21. \n\n\n\nThe Annual Minor Waiver will be issued to the Minor by the SCCA National Office. For more information about this process\, click on the following document and see the section “Minor Annual Waivers”: Digital Annual Waiver 12-01-2021.pdf. \n\n\n\nBefore obtaining an “Annual Waiver Minor” for a child\, non-member parents/guardians\, as well as the Minor in question\, must obtain an SCCA Guest Account. \n\n\n\n1. Log onto scca.com. \n\n\n\n2. Click “Join/Renew” in the information bar at the top of the page. \n\n\n\n3. Click on “Create a Guest Account.” \n\n\n\n4. Click on “I don’t have a Member ID.” \n\n\n\n5. Complete the required information. \n\n\n\nOnce you\, as parents or guardians\, have received your Guest Accounts\, you can begin the process of acquiring an Annual Minor Waiver for your child. See again the document noted above: Digital Annual Waiver 12-01-2021.pdf. \n\n\n\nDo not wait until the last minute to obtain an Annual Minor Waiver for your Minor child/participant. SCCA staff are normally not available after regular business hours or on weekends\, so a last-minute Waiver request cannot be processed before the start of this road rally. Without a valid waiver\, your Minor will not be allowed to participate. \n\n\n\nFinally\, please read carefully: \n\n\n\nIf you are registering for the first time and paying for the event entry\, choose Option 1 on the order form and follow the prompts. \n\n\n\nIf you are registering as a co-entrant and your partner has already registered\, choose Option 2 on the order form. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n Leave a ReplyCancel reply \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n\n This site uses Akismet to reduce spam. SUMMARY:IN: Dogwood Daze II Tour Rally
DESCRIPTION:Dogwood Daze II is a time speed distance rally designed specifically for beginners but fun for non-beginners too. This Tour-style rally uses the Competitor – Richta GPS Competitor App for timing. No tricky route instructions – just follow the instructions given to you. At each restart point you will re-zero your trip odometer and leave at the beginning of the next minute. After you leave the restart point\, the App will tell you when you started. Simply drive a few miles per hour above the speed given in the instructions\, or you can add the leg time given in your route instructions to the app restart time\, and you will know the exact time you need to arrive at the next instruction. It is quite possible for Novices to score well\, And if you just want a nice drive in the country that ends with food and comradeship\, this event provides that as well. \n\n\n\nSchedule: \n\n\n\n1:00-1:30 P.M  Check-in (Waivers and Weekend Member forms will be available) \n\n\n\n1:45 P.M. Mandatory Safety Meeting \n\n\n\n2:00 P.M + Car Number  Start of Rally \n\n\n\n5:00 P.M + Car Number  Should arrive at the endpoint  \n\n\n\nItems Needed: \n\n\n\n\nStreet legal car\n\n\n\nTwo people in the car (driver and navigator)\n\n\n\nPen/pencil/highlighter\n\n\n\nClipboard\n\n\n\nDedicated cell phone or GPS-enabled tablet for checkpoint scoring\n\n\n\nOdometer/GPS or some other way to calculate your mileage\n\n\n\nCalculator might be helpful\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n Leave a ReplyCancel reply \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n\n This site uses Akismet to reduce spam. SUMMARY:WI: Spring Scamper RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:Milwaukee Region SCCA will host the 2024 Spring Scamper car rally on Sunday\, April 7th. You’re invited to join us for this new 100+ mile\, 4+ hour rally around Madison\, WI. No prior rally experience is necessary\, and any type of street-legal car is welcome. You do not have to be a member of SCCA to participate. \n\n\n\nRallymaster Jim Crittenden has designed a rally course that will take you on a scenic tour of the country roads south of Madison. This is not a race; it’s a game of precision driving where you’ll be challenged to arrive at each checkpoint at exactly the right time. Penalty points are assigned for being too fast or too slow. Trophies will be awarded to the teams with the best performances. There are no unpaved roads on the course.   \n\n\n\nYou’ll need a rally partner (Driver and Navigator) and a smartphone. The entry fee is $20 per person; two people are required in each car. Pre-registration is required; no walk-ins on the day of the event. This is a charity fundraiser for the Dane County Humane Society. This organization finds ‘furever’ homes for thousands of animals every year as well as providing emergency animal care for a variety of animals\, including dogs\, cats\, birds\, and other wildlife. Your entry fee will help support their efforts. Click here for more information about DCHS. \n\n\n\nWe’ll be using the Competitor—Richta GPS Checkpoint app system. The Richta GPS Checkpoint app will run on your smartphone\, record your arrival time at each checkpoint\, and then report your leg score immediately to you. No more waiting until the rally is over to see your score! You will need to bring a smartphone to run this rally. \n\n\n\nClasses for Spring Scamper: \n\n\n\n1st Timer – No one in the car has run a road rally before. No math or timing calculations allowed. \n\n\n\nSOP (Seat Of the Pants) – No math or timing calculations allowed. No apps that continually report how early or late you are. Use speedometer to judge speed. \n\n\n\nCalculating – May use a device or an app to calculate earliness or lateness\, but rally computers are not allowed. Cars using Rabbit Rally app or Richta Simple Rally Computer app must run in Calculating Class. \n\n\n\nRally check-in opens at 10:30 AM. 1st car starts at 12:01 PM. \n\n\n\n1st car finishes at 4:30 PM at the Stone Porch Ale House\, Verona\, WI. \n\n\n\nGrab a partner and that car you love to drive and come celebrate Spring with us on Sunday\, April 7th\, in Madison. Online registration is now open at msreg.com/scamper2024. Pre-registration is required. A flyer with further details is attached.  We look forward to seeing you. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n Leave a ReplyCancel reply \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n\n This site uses Akismet to reduce spam. We want the Green Grand Prix to be a means of encouraging technology students to stay in the Northeast to help move our region to become a center for clean energy.”The Toyota Green Grand Prix’s rallies\, sanctioned by the SCCA\, offer the challenges and excitement of driving on the race track and on open roads. \n\n\n\nThe day’s first event will be the Doris Bovee Memorial Road Rally. This is a Time-Speed-Distance event held on scenic Finger Lakes Region public roads. Drivers and navigators will be scored on their ability to follow a challenging course at precise legal speeds. A 100-mile\, fuel economy event on the 2.45 mile WGI short track will follow in the afternoon. This is essentially the same configuration as the original 1957 track. A class for Exhibition category vehicles will also be included. \n\n\n\n“The rallies will allow competitors to establish fuel economy records in various categories on this world-famous racing venue\, now completely repaved\,” Gillespie said. \n\n\n\nMany hybrids\, plug-in hybrids and full electric vehicles are expected. \n\n\n\nThe Doris Bovee Foundation is one of the Green Grand Prix’s key supporters\, and the morning event is named in the honor of Doris Bovee\, who was a well-known area environmentalist and taught for many years in the Corning-Painted Post (NY) school district. She was known for her love of plants and birds. Ms. Bovee was also involved with SCCA road rallies and was part of the Glen Region SCCA at its inception.
