SUMMARY:IL: St. Louis Region RoadRally School #5
DESCRIPTION:St. Louis Region Rally School #5 \n\n\n\nSaturday\, August 24th \n\n\n\nDescription: Rally School #5 is the fifth and final event of the St. Louis Region’s 2024 five-event Novice Series\, which will introduce teams to the basic conventions of SCCA rallying. The series is open to new and returning or occasional teams seeking to refresh their rally skills. Each school event will focus on a particular aspect of road rallying\, building on the preceding event. Teams may run all five events or only those that suit their schedules. \n\n\n\nThe five events of the series are April 27\, June 1\, June 29\, July 27\, and August 24. Registration for each event normally opens three weeks before the event’s date. \n\n\n\nStart and finish: Sunset Overlook\, 11604 Bluff Road\, Columbia\, Ill. \n\n\n\nSize of the field: We are limiting each field to 20 teams. \n\n\n\nRegistration: Pre-event registration is only available at MotorsportReg.com. Entries for STL Rally School #5 are accepted on a first-come basis. Registration closes Wednesday\, August 21st\, at 11:59 p.m. \n\n\n\n\nAugust 24th check-in: 2:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. at Sunset Overlook.\n\n\n\nRally school and safety meeting: 3:15 p.m.\n\n\n\nFirst car departs the start: 4:01 p.m.\n\n\n\nFirst car arrives at the finish: approximately 6:15 p.m.\n\n\n\n\nWhat you need: \n\n\n\n\n A vehicle\n\n\n\nA driver and navigator\n\n\n\nA smartphone or tablet with the Competitor – Richta GPS Checkpoints app installed (this app\, free from Google Play or Apple’s App Store\, is our timing and scoring system–see timing and scoring note below for more details)\n\n\n\nA clipboard and calculator\, pencils and paper\n\n\n\n\nEntry fee: $25.00 per team for SCCA teams and $45.00 per team for non-member teams. An SCCA team is defined as a team in which at least one participant is an SCCA member. The $45.00 entry fee for a non-member team includes a $20.00 SCCA Weekend Membership for the team’s “primary entrant\,” i.e.\, the member who pays the entry fee. The other member of a non-SCCA team will receive a free SCCA Trial Membership (as will any non-SCCA member of an SCCA team). \n\n\n\nInformation: J. Thomas vonHatten\, Rallymaster\, 314-715-1398\, tom.vonhatten@gmail.com \n\n\n\nGood things to know: As indicated above\, we will use the Competitor – Richta GPS Checkpoint app for timing and scoring. To compete\, each participating team must have a smartphone or tablet with active data cellular service (no airplane mode and no Wi-Fi-only devices) and the Richta Competitor App installed. The app will report your arrival time and leg score to your cellphone or tablet moments after you pass each GPS checkpoint location. To download the app\, search for “Competitor Richta” or “Richta GPS Competitor App”  at Google Play or Apple’s App Store. For more information about the Richta GPS system\, visit https://richtarally.com. \n\n\n\nThe SCCA Detroit Region’s rally page has an excellent summary of the Richta system\, especially its Competitor App. Visit http://drscca.org/rally/using-the-richta-competitor-app. It is worth your time. \n\n\n\nAbout the St. Louis Region\, SCCA: The SCCA’s St. Louis Region\, with some 600 members\, offers Road Racing\, Performance Driving Experience (PDE)\, RallyCross\, RoadRally\, Solo (autocross)\, and Street Survival School programs to educate and provide safe environments for individuals to enjoy their street-legal (daily driver) cars and purpose-built racecars. The Region is home to more than 80 National Champions and has been recognized four times by the Sports Car Club of America as the Region of the Year in its member category. To learn more about the St. Louis Region\, visit www.stlscca.org. \n\n\n\nEvent Requirements\n\n\n\nRules and Waivers: \n\n\n\nThe standard SCCA rules regarding road rallies will be observed. To wit: proof of valid driver’s license and current auto insurance\, vehicle inspection (self-inspection by the rally team)\, and signing of applicable SCCA forms. \n\n\n\nAll participants will be required to read and sign the standard SCCA waiver before being allowed to participate in this event. The signing of the SCCA “Release and Waiver of Liability\, Assumption of Risk and Indemnity Agreement” is a precondition to participating in any SCCA event. Any adult 18 or older must sign the waiver. \n\n\n\nMinor Participants: A Minor taking part in this event must have an Annual Minor Waiver on file with the SCCA for the current calendar year\, i.e.\, 2024. \n\n\n\nThe Age of Majority is 18 except in Alabama and Nebraska\, where it is 19\, and Mississippi\, where it is 21. \n\n\n\nThe Annual Minor Waiver will be issued to the Minor by the SCCA National Office. For more information about this process\, click on the following document and see the section “Minor Annual Waivers”: Digital Annual Waiver 12-01-2021.pdf. \n\n\n\nBefore obtaining an “Annual Waiver Minor” for a child\, non-member parents/guardians\, as well as the Minor in question\, must obtain an SCCA Guest Account. \n\n\n\n1. Log onto scca.com. \n\n\n\n2. Click “Join/Renew” in the information bar at the top of the page. \n\n\n\n3. Click on “Create a Guest Account.” \n\n\n\n4. Click on “I don’t have a Member ID.” \n\n\n\n5. Complete the required information. \n\n\n\nOnce you\, as parents or guardians\, have received your Guest Accounts\, you can begin the process of acquiring an Annual Minor Waiver for your child. See again the document noted above: Digital Annual Waiver 12-01-2021.pdf. \n\n\n\nDo not wait until the last minute to obtain an Annual Minor Waiver for your Minor child/participant. SCCA staff are normally not available after regular business hours or on weekends\, so a last-minute Waiver request cannot be processed before the start of this road rally. Without a valid waiver\, your Minor will not be allowed to participate. \n\n\n\nFinally\, please read carefully: \n\n\n\nIf you are registering for the first time and paying for the event entry\, choose Option 1 on the order form and follow the prompts. \n\n\n\nIf you are registering as a co-entrant and your partner has already registered\, choose Option 2 on the order form. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n Leave a ReplyCancel reply \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n\n This site uses Akismet to reduce spam. SUMMARY:MI: Detroit Region Road Rally School
DESCRIPTION:The Detroit Region SCCA (DRSCCA) is excited to announce the return of Road Rally School! All are welcome regardless of experience level: if you’re interested in Road Rally and unsure where to start\, have competed in some events and want to improve your scores\, or want to try out a new kind of motorsports competition! \n\n\n\nTaught by 2020 Stock Class National Champions Sawyer Stone and Alison Lee\, Rally School will consist of “classroom” portions where you’ll walk through all of the terms\, rally sections\, and how-to of following instructions and keeping time to achieve low scores in Road Rally. In addition\, you’ll put these new skills to the test over two rally sections where you’ll encounter everything you may run into in a Road Rally. Our goal is to give you the skills and confidence to be competitive in DRSCCA Road Rally events. \n\n\n\nWhat You Need: \n\n\n\n\nA Teammate: Road Rally is a team sport! Teams consist of a Driver and a Navigator. No teammate? Let us know; we can pair you up with someone\n\n\n\nA Car: Any road-legal car is allowed. Most of the roads you’ll drive are unpaved backroads around South Lyon\, but ordinary passenger cars will be just fine\n\n\n\nA SmartPhone: Nearly all checkpoints in Road Rallies are set up via GPS. You’ll need the Competitor – Richta GPS Checkpoint app to test out your new skills\n\n\n\nPen\, Paper\, and Calculator: Road Rally has some math and some notes. A basic 4-function or cell phone calculator can do everything you need\, but it should be a phone that won’t be used for the Competitor App.\n\n\n\nLook for the Competitor Richta GPS Checkpoints app on the Google Play Store or Apple App Store or click on the appropriate link:\n\n\n\n\nhttps://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.richta.cpa2&hl=en_UShttps://apps.apple.com/us/app/competitor-richta-checkpoint/id1448298019 Prior to the rally\, all the checkpoint information (locations by Latitude and Longitude and the correct arrival times) is loaded onto the internet by the Rally Master. People who register for the rally are given a car number and the password for the app. Each Rally Team then goes to the site and downloads the information for their car. The contestants will NOT be able to view Rally Master information. During the rally\, when each car reaches a checkpoint\, the contestant’s device will signal a checkpoint has been reached with a “bing-bong” sound. The device will then display your time entered and your score and say “early” or “late.” Your total score for the rally to that point will also be displayed. \n\n\n\nVisit the Richta app information page at http://drscca.org/rally/using-the-richta-competitor-app/ to learn more about how the app works and how to use it. \n\n\n\nWhere: Aubree’s Pizzeria & Grill \n\n\n\nWhen: Saturday\, May 11th\, Class Start 1130A and Finish 530P \n\n\n\nRegistration: \n\n\n\n\n$20 per person\n\n\n\nOnline entries only via MotorsportReg\n\n\n\n+$20 if neither the Driver or the Navigator is an SCCA member\, one of you must purchase a weekend membership ($15 of this may be used as a discount toward a full SCCA membership).\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n Leave a ReplyCancel reply \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n\n This site uses Akismet to reduce spam. SUMMARY:OK: NEOkla 2018 Road Rally School & Eagle Eye Rally
DESCRIPTION:The NEOKLA Region of the SCCA will present a Road Rally School and the Eagle Eye Rally on Saturday\, February 3rd.\nCome join NEOKLA for a Saturday afternoon Road Rally school followed by a short ROAD RALLY to put your newly acquired knowledge to the test!!  The class is FREE\, and it’s only $5 per car to enter the Road Rally that follows! \nA Road Rally is NOT a RACE\, but an automotive competition in which driving skill\, timing abilities and your powers of observation can make your TEAM a WINNER! \nEach TEAM is made up of two people.   Usually\, one member is the DRIVER and the other member is the NAVIGATOR. Their challenge is to cover a prescribed course\, which is described by a set of written instructions\, at the LEGAL speeds prescribed in the written instructions. Any street-legal car or truck may be entered. \nEntrants will have TWO CLASSES to choose from to enter. STOCK CLASS is for those who wish to run the traditional DRIVER/NAVIGATOR team in which the DRIVER only drives and the NAVIGATOR only navigates. UNLIMITED CLASS is for those who wish to ‘swap seats’ at the prescribed points during the event. There will be a LIMIT of TWENTY (20) cars in the field. \nWe will assemble for the Rally School class at noon. The class will cover the Road Rally forms\, the conventions or rules that most rallies follow and a glossary of the nationally recognized terms. There will be plenty of time to order food and/or drinks during the class/Q&A. The Eagle Eye Rally kicking off some time after 2:30PM and will take just over an hour to complete. We will reconvene at Mazzios around 4PM to see how everyone did and for some follow up Q&A. \nFor more information about SCCA Road Rally\, contact Rallymaster Garry Deaton! \n#comeroadrally #wefoundtheroads \nNews from Green Country Motorsports Forums.

SUMMARY:IL: Ides of March Rally and Rally School
DESCRIPTION:Ides of March Rally and Rally School\nThe Champaign County Sports Car Club and Rallymaster Bill Wagner present the Ides of March Rally and Rally School. The rally will be about 80 miles in length. The start point is Subaru of Champaign County\, Savoy\, IL\, with a mid-point stop at the Dairy Queen in Saint Joseph\, IL and ending back in Savoy\, IL at the Buffalo Wild Wings in the Savoy Plaza. \nRegistration Information:\nSchool Start Time: 11:00am \n Registration Opens: Noon. The entry fee will be $20.00 per team. \nPlease let us know if you’ll attend the school so adequate school materials can be available. \nMinors need a completed Parental Consent form signed by a parent or legal guardian. Forms can be obtained at registration or printed from the cccsportscarclub.org site. \nParticipants should try to arrive close to the time registration opens so they will have time to certify that the driver’s insurance meets the appropriate state’s standards\, that the driver has a valid license\, that the rally vehicle is being used with the permission of the owner\, is in safe operating condition\, is on the road legally\, and that all its operational items such as lights\, turn signals\, brakes\, horn\, tires\, mirrors\, seat belts\, windshield wipers and windshield washer are in proper working order. \nEarly arrival also gives participants time to listen to the review of the rally’s general rules and to ask other rally participants questions. This last is especially important for those who have never run a rally before. \nWhat to bring if you are new to road rally?\n1. A watch that can be set to seconds\n2. Pen/pencil (highlighters recommended)\n3. Clipboard or lap desk with several pages of blank paper \nTo acquire a copy of the current rally rules\, click here!
